Any incentive to increase match ratings?

Most of my matches are pretty back-and forth but seem to be usually at least around a "C" rating. But I just got a quick pin over a middlecarder (my character is a lower midcarder) and it shot my popularity up crazy fast lol. It was like a "e" rated match and it seemed to be my biggest pop boost yet, so I don't think it helps out popularity at all (maybe it's a small bump int he equation somewhere?)

 

So should I bother trying to stretch out matches to get better grades or should I be trying to the win as quick as I can? It seems like there's no real benefit to getting great match grades from what I can see.

As far as I remember, no, there's no benefit. Ratings are cosmetic.
