WCW Souled Out 2002 - Official Card

WCW World Heavyweight Championship

Shawn Michaels © vs. Sting

Sting gets screwed in this one, and I think HBK needs to keep the belt with him til Starcade

Scott Steiner vs. Diamond Dallas Page

Both men feel like they're treading water currently, but DDP may need the win more

The Steak Is On The Line

Goldberg vs. Scott Hall

Sweet..... Delicious...... Steak. Feed Me More!

WCW United States Championship

Booker T © vs. Jeff Jarrett

Love me some Booker

Sean O'Haire vs. Ric Flair

I hope, but I could see this one extending further

WCW Tag Team Championship

Sons Of The South © vs. KroniK

No Kronik please

WCW Cruiserweight Championship

Chavo Guerrero Jr. © vs. Brian Lawler

Once Chavo loses the belt, it's gotta be a moment. Lawler doesn't fit that bill

El Mesías vs. Davey Boy Smith

New guy goes over

Bonus Questions:

Who is the traitor in Sting's alliance (if anyone)?

While I think this whole Outsiders/HBK riff is hinting that there will be no swerve, I think that someone will sell out. Who better than Kanyon?

Will the Outsiders get involved in the main event?Yep

How many titles will change hands? 0

Good show and you've built up to the PPV nicely. This has seemed to slow a bit and I hope it's not a matter of you losing interest with it. Hopefully it's just a matter of life getting busy. Looking forward to the show! And yay for the Big Wiggle making it in the show!

WCW Souled Out 2002 - Official Card

WCW World Heavyweight Championship

Shawn Michaels © vs. Sting

- I'll maintain that you'll get much more mileage out of Sting/HBK than you will HBK/Goldberg, and as much as I would LOVE for Sting to walk away with the title, I just don't see it happening. It seems you're building nicely to a huge showdown between Goldberg and HBK. Goldberg has never been a solid champion for me in this game. I see the deal with the Outsiders being a ploy and a turncoat will also factor in Sting's loss.

Scott Steiner vs. Diamond Dallas Page

- It seems like you've got more to go on with DDP than Steiner. Especially if the turncoat is Kanyon. How amazing would the return of Positively Kanyon be??

The Steak Is On The Line

Goldberg vs. Scott Hall

- No doubt Goldberg wins.

WCW United States Championship

Booker T © vs. Jeff Jarrett

- Hopefully Booker retains the title and begins a feud with a newer guy.

Sean O'Haire vs. Ric Flair

- Out with the old, in with the new. Only issue is; O'Haire did not work out transitioning into the face of the company in my game, and Flair regained his second wind and became HUGE and another world champion. We'll see if you have the same fate.

WCW Tag Team Championship

Sons Of The South © vs. KroniK

- While I like Kronik, they're not as compelling as SOS.

WCW Cruiserweight Championship

Chavo Guerrero Jr. © vs. Brian Lawler

- I've grown to love Chavo's championship run and am now pushing for him to break the 1 year mark, especially against Lawler. This could open the doors for a gimmick for Chavo, possibly even pushing him into an upper card title.

El Mesías vs. Davey Boy Smith

- Tonight, there will be.....A sacrifice. And D.B.S is it.

Bonus Questions:

Who is the traitor in Sting's alliance (if anyone)? Kanyon (Although Sting would be a wicked choice no one see's coming).

Will the Outsiders get involved in the main event? Yes

How many titles will change hands? None

It is true that the diary has slowed down a bit, which is indeed due to me having been a bit more busy lately, which is also why I have been trying to shorten the write ups for Nitro a little bit. But I'm having a lot of fun with this diary and it will continue as long as I'm lucky enough to have people who enjoy reading it.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> And on that note, I'm happy to announce that Souled Out is fully written and will be posted in about an hour or so. We see shots of the ongoing war between Sting and the nWo, along with shots of Shawn Michaels just barely retaining the World Title against Sting at the Great American Bash following a lot of interference. The word "traitor" then appears with a question mark behind it, and it is followed by a shot of each of the members of Sting's alliance; Goldberg, Booker T, Kanyon and Diamond Dallas Page. The video then shifts focus to a few of the other major matches that will be taking place tonight; Goldberg versus Scott Hall, Booker T versus Jeff Jarrett for the United States Championship and Scott Steiner versus Diamond Dallas Page in a rematch from the Great American Bash. The video comes to an end with a shot of the Souled Out logo and we are inside the sold out American Airlines Arena where we join our announce team of Tony Schiavone, Mike Tenay and Ken Anderson. <strong>(C+)</strong></p><p> </p><p> </p><p> <span>http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t1/bigdaddycool2sweet/Euro%20Wrestling/WCW/TonySchiavone3.jpg</span><span>http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t1/bigdaddycool2sweet/Euro%20Wrestling/WCW/MikeTenay3.jpg</span><span>http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t1/bigdaddycool2sweet/Euro%20Wrestling/WCW/Ken%20Anderson%203.jpg</span></p><p> </p><p> </p><p> Tony welcomes everyone to WCW Souled Out and introduces his broadcast partners for tonight, "The Professor" Mike Tenay and Ken Anderson, who will be sitting in for Dusty Rhodes tonight just as he did this past Monday night on Nitro. Tony and Mike go over the card for tonight's show, with Tony saying that all four titles will be defended tonight including, of course, the WCW World Heavyweight Championship as Shawn Michaels faces Sting in a rematch from the Great Ameircan Bash. Mike Tenay says that the card for Souled Out is so stacked that every single match on the card tonight is a huge match. Finally Ken Anderson asks if we can get this show on the road because we're not even ten minutes into the show and he's already sick of listening to their voices. Tony says that Anderson is more than welcome to leave if he doesn't want to be out there with them, but then adds that Anderson is in luck because it is time to head down to the ring for the opening match of Souled Out!</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="36487" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><div style="text-align:center;"><p> </p><p> <strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">WCW Cruiserweight Championship</span></strong></p><p> </p><p> <span>http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t1/bigdaddycool2sweet/Euro%20Wrestling/WCW/WCWCW.jpg</span></p><p> </p><p> <span>http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t1/bigdaddycool2sweet/Euro%20Wrestling/WCW/ChavoGuerreroJr.jpg</span>vs.<span>http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t1/bigdaddycool2sweet/Euro%20Wrestling/WCW/BrianChristopher.jpg</span></p><p> </p><p> </p><p> Tony and Mike noted Chavo Guerrero Jr. is just a couple of months away from reaching the one year mark of his reign as Cruiserweight Champion, but while both men did not want to take anything away from Chavo's accomplishments, they did point out that Chavo's reign has been full of less-than-clean victories and Chavo has become known for his willingness to cheat to win. Chavo started things off by offering to shake Lawler's hand, and Lawler accepted the handshake despite the crowd, as well as Tony and Mike, imploring him not to. Naturally this was nothing more than a ruse by Guerrero who attempted a cheapshot, but Lawler was ready for it and he blocked it and began laying into Chavo with right handed punches. Lawler then whipped Chavo into the ropes and caught him with a powerslam and Chavo just barely kicked out before the three count as Mike Tenay noted that Chavo's reign as champion almost ended right there as Brian Lawler caught him by surprise. This was not as high-flying of a match as most Cruiserweight matches are as both men are decently well-versed technical wrestlers as well, and they attempted to out-wrestle each other on several occasions. The finish to this one came when Brian Lawler missed his Tennessee Jam diving legdrop, which provided Chavo with the opening he needed to quickly pull Lawler to his feet and hit the Gory Bomb for a rare clean pinfall victory for the Cruiserweight Champion.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> <strong>Chavo Guerrero Jr. defeated Brian Lawler at 10.18 by pinfall following a Gory Bomb. Adams and Clark utilized frequent tags as they kept BG James far away from his partner, Dustin Rhodes, and slowly but surely they began wearing James down and, as Mike Tenay noted, there was nothing pretty about the brawling, in your face in-ring style of KroniK, but it was extremely effective. BG James tried to mount several comebacks, but every time he did so he was cut off before he could build any real momentum--usually by getting blindsided by whichever member of KroniK was not the legal man. Finally on the fourth try BG James was able to build up a bit of momentum and this time, when Brian Adams came charging into the ring, BG James ducked and finally managed to tag in Dustin Rhodes. Rhodes came in absolutely on fire, taking the fight to both members of KroniK and standing his ground while doing so. Rhodes nailed Adams with a DDT, then turned to Clark and executed a picture perfect standing dropkick. Rhodes then pulled Clark to his feet and went for the bulldog, but he ran right into the right hand of Brian Adams, who grabbed Rhodes by the throat and drove him into the mat with a chokeslam. Adams and Clark then pulled Rhodes back to his feet and set up for their High Times double chokeslam finisher, but BG James was back in the ring to save his partner in the nick of time. From there things got even more out of hand as all four men were in the ring battling it out, and the referee had a hard time restoring order. Brian Adams clotheslined BG James over the top rope, but he did so with such force and momentum that he went over the top rope himself, leaving Dustin Rhodes and Bryan Clark alone in the ring. Clark was first to his feet and he called for another chokeslam. He grabbed Rhodes by the throat and lifted him up, but Rhodes managed to roll through and catch Clark off guard with a surprise rollup for the pinfall and the win in a highly competitive Tag Team Title matchup.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> <strong>Sons Of The South defeated KroniK at 12.06 by pinfall when Dustin Rhodes pinned Clark following a surprise rollup. Sons Of The South retains the WCW Tag Team Championships ©</strong></p><p> </p></div><p></p><p></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> </p><p> The match is over and Sons Of The South have successfully defended the Tag Team Titles, but Tony and Mike put over the effort of both teams, saying that the battle these four men just put on shows how much the Tag Team Titles means to all four men, and Mike Tenay adds that he doesn't believe Sons Of The South has seen the last of KroniK in the Tag Team Title picture. Ken Anderson adds a rather cryptic comment, saying that Sons Of The South should enjoy their reign while it lasts because you never know when things might suddenly change.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> <span>http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t1/bigdaddycool2sweet/Euro%20Wrestling/WCW/EricBischoff3.jpg</span></p><p> </p><p> </p><p> We cut to the back where WCW owner Eric Bischoff is seen walking down a hallway. Bischoff asks if Nash and Hall have finally come to their senses about the whole Shawn Michaels situation, but Kevin Nash says that they haven't heard a thing from Shawn and until they do, as far as he is concerned, nothing has changed. Scott Hall agrees with his big buddy, saying that the ball is in Shawn's court and it's up to him to get his head on straight again. Bischoff asks if that means that they're not going to have Shawn's back tonight, and Nash confirms that that is exactly what it means. Bischoff then says that if that's the way they want it, if Nash is not going to be there for his friend Shawn Michaels tonight...then he's not going to be there for his friend Scott Hall either because as of right now...he is officially banning Kevin Nash from the building! Hall and Nash gives each other a "is he for real" kind of look, and Bischoff leaves the locker room for a brief moment....only to return with a slew of security guards. Bischoff orders the guards to escort Nash out of the building and make sure that he doesn't get back inside. As the guards escort Nash from the building, Eric Bischoff turns to Scott Hall and says that maybe now they'll realize that he's done screwing around. Bischoff then leaves and Hall looks somewhat perplexed as we head back to the ring. <strong>(B-)</strong></p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="36487" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><div style="text-align:center;"><span>http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t1/bigdaddycool2sweet/Euro%20Wrestling/WCW/SeanOHaire2001.jpg</span>vs.<span>http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t1/bigdaddycool2sweet/Euro%20Wrestling/WCW/RicFlair2.jpg</span><p> </p><p> </p><p> As soon as the bell sounded in this one, Sean O'Haire charged at Ric Flair and Ric Flair quickly bailed out of the ring. The announcers talked about how O'Haire has been wanting to get his hands on Ric Flair for weeks now, but Flair has always avoided the confrontation. Flair took his time outside the ring, demanding that the referee back O'Haire up into the far corner before "The Nature Boy" finally re-entered the ring. Flair was not done playing mindgames, however, as he continued to stall and avoid O'Haire, and it was obvious that the inexperienced O'Haire was quickly getting frustrated with the veteran Flair's tricks, which Tony suspected was exactly what Flair was hoping to achieve. Throughout the match Flair continued to take advantage of O'Haire's growing frustration and his desire to get his hands on Flair, and it was very much a case of the old lion teaching the younger lion a lesson--that is, until Ric Flair got a little bit too confident and took too much time to strut around and berate O'Haire, which allowed O'Haire to catch his wind and from there O'Haire took over the match, hitting one devastating power move after another on Flair. O'Haire hit a powerslam, a military press slam and a series of various kicks as he put himself in firm control of this one, but then....</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> <span>http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t1/bigdaddycool2sweet/Euro%20Wrestling/WCW/MikeSanders.jpg</span></p><p> </p><p> </p><p> Mike Sanders suddenly ran down to ringside and jumped onto the apron, and his presence quickly got the referee's attention.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> <span>http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t1/bigdaddycool2sweet/Euro%20Wrestling/WCW/BamBamBigelow2.jpg</span></p><p> </p><p> </p><p> So much so, in fact, that the referee never saw "The Beast From The East" Bam Bam Bigelow enter the ring, grab Sean O'Haire and nail him with the "Greetings from Asbury Park". Bigelow then left the ring, Sanders jumped back down from the apron and the referee turned around just in time to see Ric Flair crawl into the cover....1....2....NOOO!!!!! Sean O'Haire somehow kicked out and Flair couldn't believe it! After arguing with the referee over what Flair believed was a slow count, Flair refocused himself on O'Haire and set up for the Figure Four leglock....but O'Haire powered out of it! O'Haire fought his way back to his feet, rocking Flair with lefts and rights. Mike Sanders was back up on the apron, but a huge thrust kick from O'Haire sent him back down again! Bam Bam Bigelow then tried to enter the ring but both O'Haire and the referee was there to stop him. This, unfortunately, gave Flair the perfect opportunity to hit a lowblow on O'Haire, and Flair then rolled him up and grabbed hold of the ropes for extra leverage as "The Nature Boy" stole the victory.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> <strong>Ric Flair defeated Sean O'Haire at 12.44 by pinfall following a lowblow and a rollup while grabbing the ropes for extra leverage (C+)</strong> </p><p> </p></div><p></p><p></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> </p><p> Tony and Mike are both outraged about how Ric Flair screwed Sean O'Haire over here tonight, and Tony says that if Sean O'Haire wanted to get his hands on Ric Flair before, you can only imagine how he is going to feel when he realizes what just happened here tonight.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> <span>http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t1/bigdaddycool2sweet/Euro%20Wrestling/WCW/ShawnMichaels.jpg</span></p><p> </p><p> </p><p> We then see a shot of the WCW World Heavyweight Champion, Shawn Michaels, sitting in his locker room looking intense and focused as he prepares for his huge World Title match against Sting later tonight. Tony and Mike talk about what we saw earlier tonight when Eric Bischoff had Kevin Nash escorted from the building, and Mike Tenay wonders how much that is on Shawn Michaels' right now, knowing that he won't have the Outsiders there to watch his back. Tony brings up the question of the supposed traitor within the ranks of Sting's alliance, and he wonders if that person is going to reveal himself tonight--assuming that what Shawn Michaels said was even true at all. Tony then sends us back down to the ring where Booker T is about to defend his United States Championship. <strong>(B-)</strong></p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="36487" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><div style="text-align:center;"><p> </p><p> <strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">WCW United States Championship</span></strong></p><p> </p><p> <span>http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t1/bigdaddycool2sweet/Euro%20Wrestling/WCW/WCWUS2.jpg</span></p><p> </p><p> <span>http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t1/bigdaddycool2sweet/Euro%20Wrestling/WCW/BookerT.jpg</span>vs.<span>http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t1/bigdaddycool2sweet/Euro%20Wrestling/WCW/JeffJarrett.jpg</span>w/<span>http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t1/bigdaddycool2sweet/Euro%20Wrestling/WCW/CheerleaderMelissa.jpg</span></p><p> </p><p> </p><p> This one started off with both men locking up in the center of the ring, with Booker T getting the better of the exchange as he backed "Double J" up against the ropes. The referee called for a clean break and Booker T gave him just that, but a quick thumb to the eye by Jarrett on Booker allowed "The Chosen One" to grab the early advantage. The referee admonished Jarrett for not breaking cleanly, but Jarrett obviously didn't care as he just pretended to listen and then went to work on Booker T. Jarrett focused most of his early offense on the left leg of Booker T, which Mike Tenay called sound strategy given how proficient and dangerous Booker T was at using his legs to perform various kicks. Cheerleader Melissa cheered Jarrett on from ringside, but she also was not above getting involved whenever it looked like Booker T was getting back into the match, either by distracting Booker himself, or by distracting the referee to allow Jarrett to regain control by using less than legal means. Jarrett executed his strategy to perfection and it looked like this one was all done when "Double J" set up for the Stroke...but Booker T managed to fight his way out of it. Booker finally managed to build some momentum for the first time in the match, hitting Jarrett with various kicks, a flapjack and a missile dropkick. Booker then hit the Axe Kick on Jarrett, but "Double J" managed to kick out after two and a half. From there the match went back and forth for the next several minutes, with Jarrett constantly going back to working on Booker's left leg whenever possible, and it was obvious that the damage done by Jarrett to the leg was definitely bothering Booker. Jarrett hit a swinging neckbreaker on Booker, and then he gave some kind of signal to Cheerleader Melissa at ringside. As Jarrett continued working on Booker's leg, Melissa reached under the ring and grabbed Jarrett's trademark guitar. She positioned it in one corner of the ring and then moved around to the other side of the ring where she climbed onto the apron and began arguing with the referee. With the referee distacted, Jarrett grabbed the guitar, waited for Booker T to get to his feet and.....NOOO!!! Booker T was just barely able to avoid the impact, and a limping Booker managed to hit a spinning heel kick on Jarrett, but Booker immediately grabbed his left leg in pain and he was unable to capitalize. Jarrett was the first one back to his feet and, seeing Booker T's obvious pain, Jarrett looked to set Booker up for a Figure Four leglock but walked right into a surprise rollup...1...2...NO!!! Booker almost caught Jarrett off guard and that just seemed to enrage "The Chosen One" as he pulled Booker to his feet and began laying into him with one punch after another, but Booker T would start to fight back. They exchanged blows in the center of the ring until Booker got the upper hand, landing several shots in a row, then kicking Jarrett in the stomach and hitting another Axe Kick. Cheerleader Melissa again tried to get Booker's attention, but Booker ignored her and went right back to Jarrett, pulling him to his feet and driving him into the mat with a Bookend to finally pick up the win in a great and highly competitive US Title match.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> <strong>Booker T defeated Jeff Jarrett at 16.18 by pinfall following a Bookend. Steiner drags Page back to his feet and then blasts him in the head with the led pipe, much to the outrage and disgust of Tony and Mike. Finally security arrives on the scene, but the damage seems to have been done as DDP appears to be unconscious. As EMT's arrive on the scene as well, Steiner is heard yelling that DDP is nothing but a whiny little bitch! The security officers seem reluctant to approach "Big Poppa Pump", but Steiner finally walks off as Tony and Mike wonder if DDP will even be able to compete here tonight. considering the damage done by Scott Steiner. <strong>©</strong></p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="36487" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><div style="text-align:center;"><span>http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t1/bigdaddycool2sweet/Euro%20Wrestling/WCW/DaveyBoySmith.jpg</span>vs.<span>http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t1/bigdaddycool2sweet/Euro%20Wrestling/WCW/RickyBanderas2.jpg</span>w/<span>http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t1/bigdaddycool2sweet/Euro%20Wrestling/WCW/JamesMitchell3.jpg</span><p> </p><p> </p><p> Davey Boy Smith came out hot for this one and he aimed all of his rage and frustration squarely at the man responsible for all of it; El Mesías. Mesías slowly began to wear Davey Boy down, taking his time as he punished "The Bulldog" and made him suffer. Davey Boy tried to fight back a few times, but his efforts were quickly shot down by El Mesías, and pretty soon Davey Boy Smith wasn't fighting back at all, but Mesías didn't go for the pin. Tony and Mike both said that the referee really should consider stopping the match because Davey Boy was completely defenseless, while El Mesías was showing no mercy whatsoever. Mike Tenay adds that El Mesías is obviously a dangerous individual, but what he did tonight was entirely uncalled for as he never even once tried to end the match--he just wanted to hurt Davey Boy Smith. And sadly it looks like he was successful at that. <strong>(D)</strong></p><p> </p><p> Tony then says that, as if one piece of bad news wasn't enough, he has just received confirmation from the EMT's in the back who are working on Diamond Dallas Page that DDP will NOT be able to compete tonight, which means that the scheduled match between Diamond Dallas Page and Scott Steiner will not be taking place tonight at Souled Out after all. Still, even as big and strong as Scott Hall is, he found himself overpowered by Goldberg early on in this one. Goldberg tossed Hall around the ring with a few power moves, then set up for an early Spear, but Hall managed to avoid it by dropping down and rolling out of the ring to catch his breath. Tony reminded everyone that Kevin Nash was thrown out of the building earlier tonight by Eric Bischoff, which meant that Scott Hall was forced to go it alone tonight against Goldberg. Goldberg followed Hall out of the ring, but Hall quickly slid back into the ring and when Goldberg followed, Hall was ready for him. Hall began kicking away on Goldberg, attempting to keep him keep him on the floor of the ring and stop him from getting back to his feet. Goldberg did eventually get back to his feet, however, and Hall, realizing that he wasn't going to be able to match strength with Goldberg, decided that he was going to try to out-wrestle Goldberg instead, which Mike Tenay said was smart because the veteran Hall was a far more accomplished technical wrestler than Goldberg. This approach proved successful for Hall, who combined technical wrestling with a few cheap shots here and there to maintain control of the match for several minutes. Sensing that his moment was at hand, Hall set up for the Outsiders' Edge....and HIT IT! Hall then quickly covered Goldberg....1....2....NO!!!! Goldberg powered out after two and Hall couldn't believe it! Hall began arguing with the referee that it was a slow count, or that Goldberg didn't really kick out--he just wanted the referee to declare him the winner. The referee maintained that it was a two count only, and a frustrated Hall went back to work on Goldberg, landing several punches and kicks...but somehow they didn't seem to have too much of an impact on Goldberg. Goldberg suddenly grabbed Hall by the throat, lifted him up in the air and drove him down into the mat with a modified chokeslam. The crowd roared its approval and Goldberg followed up by hitting a military press slam, a double underhook suplex, a gutbuster and a spinebuster. At this point Scott Hall was on dream street, and when he finally got back to his feet he walked right into a Spear! Goldberg then pulled Hall to his feet and hit the Jackhammer for the pinfall victory in a good match.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> <strong>Goldberg defeated Scott Hall at 14.27 by pinfall following the Spear/Jackhammer combo (B-)</strong> </p><p> </p></div><p></p><p></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> </p><p> <span>http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t1/bigdaddycool2sweet/Euro%20Wrestling/WCW/ShawnMichaels.jpg</span><span>http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t1/bigdaddycool2sweet/Euro%20Wrestling/WCW/Sting3.jpg</span></p><p> </p><p> </p><p> With the main event just moments away, a video plays hyping up the upcoming match between Shawn Michaels and Sting for the WCW World Heavyweight Championship. The video shows highlights from their match at the Great American Bash where Shawn Michaels only just barely retained the title under extremely controversial circumstances. We then see a shot from the ending of this past Monday Nitro with Shawn Michaels and Sting staring each other down, and the sound of Tony Schiavone's voice is heard asking the question; who is the traitor in the ranks of Sting's alliance? <strong>(B+)</strong></p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="36487" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><div style="text-align:center;"><p> </p><p> <strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">WCW World Heavyweight Championship</span></strong></p><p> </p><p> <span>http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t1/bigdaddycool2sweet/Euro%20Wrestling/WCW/WCWWorld3.jpg</span></p><p> </p><p> <span>http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t1/bigdaddycool2sweet/Euro%20Wrestling/WCW/ShawnMichaels.jpg</span>vs.<span>http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t1/bigdaddycool2sweet/Euro%20Wrestling/WCW/Sting3.jpg</span></p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> This one started off with Shawn Michaels and Sting standing face to face in the middle of the ring, and Shawn Michaels telling Sting that he'd better watch his back because you never know when the traitor might strike. Surprisingly, given the heated issues between these two men, the early parts of this one was actually a very good wrestling match with both men trying out-wrestle each other. For every hold Shawn Michaels attempted, Sting managed to find a way to counter it, which quickly began to frustrate the World Champion as Tony noted that Shawn Michaels' ego would not allow him to be outdone by anyone at anything. Sting kept getting the better of Shawn, however, and finally Michaels just nailed Sting with a right handed punch as his frustrations finally got the better of him. Sting responded with a right handed punch of his own and from there in was on. Sting got the better of the exchange and he forced Michaels into the corner where Sting climbed to the second turnbuckle and began raining down punches as the crowd happily counted along--One--Two--Three--Four--Five--Six--Seven--Eight--Nine--Ten!!!!! Sting jumped down, whipped Michaels across the ring and into the opposite corner, and charged in after him with a huge clothesline. Sting then climbed to the second turnbuckle and began punching away again, with the crowd happily counting along again--One--Two--Three--Four--Five--Six--Seven--Eight--Nine--Ten!!!! Sting then dragged a clearly dazed Shawn Michaels out of the corner, hit a DDT and then went for the first cover of the match..1..2--Kickout! Sting went to pull Michaels back to his feet, but the World Champion shoved Sting away and quickly escaped out of the ring to catch his breath and regroup from this all-Sting start to the match. Sting was not about to let Michaels recover, however, and he immediately followed the Champion out of the ring where he grabbed Michaels and drove his head into the apron of the ring. Sting then scooped Michaels up and bodyslammed him on the floor, prompting Mike and Tony to bring up the back injury that kept Michaels out of action for several years. Sting then rolled Michaels back into the and followed him in.</p><p> </p><p> Back in the ring Sting contiued his dominance, hitting another bodyslam, a vertical suplex and bulldog. Sting went for the cover, but Michaels again kicked out after two. Sting whipped Michaels into the corner and went for a Stinger Splash, but Michaels managed to get out of the way and Sting crashed chest first into the turnbuckle, finally halting Sting's onslaught and buying Michaels some time to recover. Both men got back to their feet but Michaels struck first with several knife edge chops, followed up with a couple of inverted atomic drops and finally a clothesline that took Sting down. Michaels began putting the boots to Sting, then dropped an elbow and went for the cover, but Sting kicked out before the referee even reached the count of two. Michaels stayed on the offensive, hitting a belly to back suplex, another atomic drop and then he hit a HUGE suplex from the top turnbuckle. Michaels went for the cover, but Sting was able to kick out after two. Michaels went up top looking to score with the huge elbow drop, but Sting was able to move out of the way and the World Champion crashed and burned. Both men were down on the floor and the referee began to count...1...2...3...4...both men began to stir....5...6...7...both men got back to their feet at roughly the same time, but Michaels was the first to act as he charged at Sting and hit a flying forearm. Michaels then did the kip up and began calling for some Sweet Chin Music, which was met by a chorus of boos from the sold-out crowd in attendance. Michaels waited for Sting to get up and........NOOOO!!!!!! Sting sidestepped the Sweet Chin Music, grabbed Shawn from behind and nailed the Scorpion Deathdrop in a HUGE moment that popped the crowd! Sting then covered for the win and the championship....</p><p> </p><p> 1....</p><p> </p><p> 2....</p><p> </p><p> .....NOOOOO!!!!!!!</p><p> </p><p> Shawn Michaels managed to get his shoulder up at the very last moment before the three count. Both men were down again as the effects of this grueling match were starting to show on both men, but Sting was eventually the first man back to his feet. Sting whipped Michaels into the corner and followed him in with a Stinger Splash! Sting then whipped Michaels across the ring and into the other corner and....ANOTHER STINGER SPLASH! Michaels staggered out of the corner and right into a neckbreaker from Sting and then, with Michaels down in the middle of the ring, the Stinger called for the Scorpion Deathlock! Sting grabbed the World Champion's legs, but a near-panicked Shawn Michaels began kicking his legs frantically, eventually, and seemingly accidentally, kicking Sting into the referee and knocking him down.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> <span>http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t1/bigdaddycool2sweet/Euro%20Wrestling/WCW/ScottSteiner.jpg</span></p><p> </p><p> </p><p> "Big Poppa Pump" Scott Steiner then made his way down to the ring, drawing nothing but boos from the crowd as Tony and Mike reminded everyone of Steiner's attack on Diamond Dallas Page earlier tonight. But just what was Steiner doing out there? "Freakzilla" entered the ring and went after Sting as, apparently, Steiner was not quite done taking his frustrations out on others tonight. Steiner hit a belly to belly suplex on Sting, but then...</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> <span>http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t1/bigdaddycool2sweet/Euro%20Wrestling/WCW/BookerT.jpg</span></p><p> </p><p> </p><p> The United States Champion Booker T came charging down the entrance ramp and came to Sting's aid. With Michaels and Sting both down in the ring, DDP entered the ring after carefully making his way up the steel steps, and at the exact same time Kanyon slid into the ring from the opposite side. Both men got to their feet and these two best friends locked eyes as Tony and Mike both wondered what these guys were doing out here--which seemed to be exactly the same question both Kanyon and DDP had for one another as both men seemed confused by the other's presence. DDP and Kanyon slowly approached each other and exchanged a few words. A few moments of silence followed, but then......</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> KANYON CUTTER!!!!!!!!!</p><p> </p><p> Kanyon just grabbed his own best friend, Diamond Dallas Page, and drove him into the mat with an impactful Kanyon Cutter! Tony exclaimed repeatedly that Kanyon was the traitor Shawn Michaels talked about, but why? Why would Kanyon do this? Kanyon then turned his attention to Sting and hit the Kanyon Cutter on him as well as the crowd showered Kanyon with boos. Then, as Shawn Michaels got back to his feet, now with a grin on his face as he saw his new ally's handiwork, Kanyon pulled Sting back to his feet and held him there as Shawn Michaels tuned up the band and.....</p><p> </p><p> SWEET CHIN MUSIC!!!!!</p><p> </p><p> Michaels then covered Sting while Kanyon made sure to revive the referee just in time to see the cover....</p><p> </p><p> 1....</p><p> </p><p> 2....</p><p> </p><p> ....3!!!!!!!</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> <strong>Shawn Michaels defeated Sting at 19.40 by pinfall following a Sweet Chin Music after Kanyon turned on Sting. <strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">WCW News And Notes - Post Souled Out Edition</span></strong></p><p>

</p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

Souled Out is said to be viewed by management as another successful pay per view. The feeling backstage was that while the Shawn Michaels versus Sting match did not quite reach the heights management was hoping for, the two still produced a very good main event match to finish off what is being viewed as a solid show from start to finish by management. Following the show Booker T and Jeff Jarrett were both praised for their performances in the US Title match which, somewhat surprisingly, turned out to be the best match of the night. In addition to Booker and Jarrett, the newcomer El Mesías was also given some encouragement as management is said to be very happy with Mesías' progress so far in WCW.</p><p> </p><p>

World Championship Wrestling recently renewed both their TV deal with Bravo and their pay per view deal with TVN Entertainment. While rumors have been circulating that management might be looking to move Nitro to a bigger network, or at least get another thirty minutes added to bring the show back up to two hours, the deal with Bravo is said to still be for ninety minute episodes of Monday Nitro.</p><p> </p><p>

WCW management has made another focused effort to improve the backstage atmosphere within the company as of late. In addition to cracking down hard on inappropriate behavior, management has also begun removing people from the active roster. Konnan was sent down to the Powerplant several months ago due to his backstage behavior and while it was always intended for Konnan to return to the main roster, the word now is that Konnan will likely not be brought back and that his contract with WCW will be allowed to expire. We can also confirm that Vampiro was sent down to the Powerplant recently due to him being seen as a poisonous presence backstage. Vampiro is also not expected to be brought back to the main roster, and it is expected that his contract will also allowed to expire. In addition to this, Dusty Rhodes was given an extended vacation recently and this is the reason why Ken Anderson replaced Dusty Rhodes on the announce team. Dusty Rhodes is said to have been unhappy for a while following his involvement with "The Three", and in particular with losing a match to "The Three", and management decided to give Rhodes some time off. The word is that, unlike Konnan and Vampiro, Rhodes is expected to be brought back to WCW and Monday Nitro following his vacation.</p><p> </p><p>

Word is that Kevin Nash was injured during the six man tag team main event match on the final Nitro before Souled Out. It is unclear exactly when Nash was hurt during the match, but he was diagnosed with a damaged shoulder following Nitro. The good news is that it is said to be a very minor injury and Nash should be ready to go again in a couple of weeks, although the doctors did recommend that Nash not get involved in any in-ring action during those two weeks.</p><p> </p><p>

And finally, WCW's next pay per view is going to be Fall Brawl and, according to rumors, management is indeed intending to bring back the War Games match for the event and the first details regarding the match are expected to be revealed on the upcoming edition on Monday Nitro, so don't forget to tune in and find out for yourself!</p>

Souled Out has come and gone and what a night it was; Shawn Michaels retained the WCW World Heavyweight Championship against Sting after Kanyon turned out to be the traitor Shawn Michaels had been talking about, and this week on Nitro we will be hearing for the man himself as Kanyon will explain his actions at Souled Out. WCW owner Eric Bischoff will also be on hand to reveal the details of the War Games match that will be taking place at Fall Brawl, and the main event of the show features a Souled Out rematch as Booker T and Jeff Jarrett goes one on one again with the United States Championship on the line following their great match last night at Souled Out. All of this and much, much more on this week's edition of WCW Monday Nitro!</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

On a side note, the prizes for this past month's prediction contest are still in the works and will be sent out as soon as I decide on a few things. I'm hoping to have them sent within the next couple of days.</p>

Week 1, September, 2002

Live from the Toyota Sports Center in Los Angeles, California

Attendance: 9.932

As WCW Monday Nitro goes live we do so in somewhat unusual fashion as we are somewhere in the back where a still banged up looking Diamond Dallas Page is in the middle of a heated confrontation with Goldberg.

http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t1/bigdaddycool2sweet/Euro%20Wrestling/WCW/DiamondDallasPage_1.jpghttp://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t1/bigdaddycool2sweet/Euro%20Wrestling/WCW/BillGoldberg2.jpg

DDP is blaming Goldberg for not being there for the rest of the guys when Kanyon turned on them last night at Souled Out and screwed Sting out of his shot at winning the World Title, but Goldberg says that he was in the trainer's room following his match and he didn't even know about what was going on until it was already too late to do anything about it. DDP says that Goldberg should have been keeping an eye on the ring because Shawn Michaels is always up to something. Goldberg starts to get angry at Page for accusing him of letting everyone down and blaming him for what happened, but before things can get anymore heated than they already are...

http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t1/bigdaddycool2sweet/Euro%20Wrestling/WCW/Sting%20%2042.jpg

Sting walks in to bring the argument to a stop. Sting says that what happened last night is exactly one man's fault and that man is Kanyon. He says that now is the time for them to stick together, not fall apart and turn on each other. Sting says that Shawn Michaels and Kanyon may have won the battle last night, but they can still win the war. But the only way they are going to be able to do that is by doing it together. Sting says that he knows that DDP had a rough night last night, getting attacked by Scott Steiner, but Page was still out there when Sting needed him. Page still had his back, and that is the kind of unity they need to show going forward. Sting then turns to Goldberg and says that he doesn't blame him for what happened. Nobody could have known that Kanyon was going to turn on them. They all thought that Shawn Michaels was just trying to mess with their heads. But right now DDP and Goldberg needs to stop pointing their finger at each other because the only ones to blame for this are Shawn Michaels and Kanyon. Cooler heads seems to prevail as DDP and Goldberg shakes hands and agrees to put last night behind them and move forward as a unit. (B-)

This week's opening matchup was a fast-paced one as Rey Misterio Jr. went one on one with Crowbar. It has been a while since Crowbar has had any kind of success in WCW and, unfortunately for him, tonight proved to be no different. Crowbar did manage to get a decent amount of offense in, but in the end there was little doubt about the outcome in this one as Rey Misterio Jr. put Crowbar away after hitting a Springboard Hurricanrana for the win in a solid opener.

Following the match we head to the announce table where we join Tony Schiavone, Mike Tenay and Ken Anderson. They start to talk about last night's Souled Out and about the huge controversy surrounding the main event where Kanyon turned on Sting's alliance by aligning himself with Shawn Michaels and ultimately costing Sting the match. They don't get to talk too much about it, however, as....

http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t1/bigdaddycool2sweet/Euro%20Wrestling/WCW/Shawn%20Michaels%202.jpghttp://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t1/bigdaddycool2sweet/Euro%20Wrestling/WCW/ChrisKanyon4.jpg

The nWo music starts playing throughout the arena, bringing out the WCW World Heavyweight Champion, Shawn Michaels, side by side with the man who played a huge role in Shawn retaining the title last night at Souled Out; Kanyon. As the two men make their way to the ring, Tony and Mike wonder whether this means that Kanyon is an official member of the nWo? And where does Shawn Michaels stand with Kevin Nash and Scott Hall, who were nowhere to be seen last night during the main event, and who are not accompanying Michaels and Kanyon to the ring now? Once in the ring, Shawn Michaels grabs the mic first and says that it's good to know that there are still a few people left in WCW who knows a good thing when they see one, and last night at Souled Out, Kanyon proved that he is one of those people. A smiling Shawn Michaels then hands the mic off to his new ally. Kanyon waits a few moments for the boos to die down, and he then says that he has lost count of how many people have come up to him today to ask him "why?". Why did he do it? Why did he turn on Sting and his alliance? Why? Kanyon says he'll tell everybody why right now. He says that he was sick and tired of being a good little soldier in Sting's alliance. He was sick and tired of being treated as nothing more than cannon fodder--just another body to throw at the nWo. He says that nobody in Sting's alliance gave a damn about him. Nobody in Sting's alliance cared if he ever got his shot. And then one day Shawn Michaels came up to him and made him realize that Sting and the rest of his alliance had been filling his head with garbage. Kanyon says that Shawn Michaels made him realize that he had a choice to make; he could either stay where he was, watching from the shadows while Sting, Goldberg, DDP and Booker T got all of the title matches and made all of the big money while he got absolutely nothing in return for his efforts--OR...he could join up with someone who actually appreciated what he brought to the table, someone who could and would open up certain doors for him. Kanyon says that once everything was on the table and once he had all of the information...it was a real easy choice to make, and as far as Kanyon is concerned...Sting, DDP, Goldberg and Booker T can all kiss his ass because he's done being their mindless little soldier! (B+)

http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t1/bigdaddycool2sweet/Euro%20Wrestling/WCW/Sting%20%2042.jpghttp://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t1/bigdaddycool2sweet/Euro%20Wrestling/WCW/DiamondDallasPage_1.jpghttp://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t1/bigdaddycool2sweet/Euro%20Wrestling/WCW/BillGoldberg2.jpghttp://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t1/bigdaddycool2sweet/Euro%20Wrestling/WCW/BookerT.jpg

Kanyon is suddenly interrupted as "Seek and Destroy" starts playing and out walks Sting, Diamond Dallas Page, Goldberg and Booker T, the remaining members of Sting's alliance. They all stand at the top of the entrance ramp and stares at Shawn Michaels and Kanyon in the ring for a few moments, and once the cheers have died down a bit Sting grabs a mic of his own. Sting says that, as far as he is concerned, what Kanyon did last night at Souled Out was a crying shame. He says that he always thought highly of Kanyon and that he thought that Kanyon had all of the tools needed to make it to the top of this business, but now? Now all of that potential is going to be wasted because he will never be anything more than Shawn Michaels' lackey and if Kanyon thinks differently then he is truly kidding himself. Diamond Dallas Page takes the mic and he is looking pissed! DDP says that until last night he thought of Kanyon as his best friend, so when Kanyon turned his back on their alliance he also turned his back on their friendship--he betrayed their friendship. And there is ALWAYS a price to pay for turning your back on your friends! DDP drops the mic and it looks like Sting's alliance is headed down to the ring, but they don't get very far before...

http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t1/bigdaddycool2sweet/Euro%20Wrestling/WCW/EricBischoff3.jpg

"White Train" suddenly starts playing, bringing the owner of WCW, Eric Bischoff, out from the back. Bischoff hurries down the ramp to stop Sting, Goldberg, DDP and Booker T before they get to the ring, and Bischoff orders them to return to the back right now, threatening to suspend all four of them if they enter the ring. It is obvious that all four men really want to get their hands of Shawn Michaels and Kanyon, but they do eventually turn around and head back up the ramp, with Sting telling his allies that Shawn and Kanyon will get what's coming to them eventually. (B+)

We then cut backstage where...

http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t1/bigdaddycool2sweet/Euro%20Wrestling/WCW/DevonStorm.jpg

Crowbar is seen sitting alone with his head hung low after suffering yet another defeat.

http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t1/bigdaddycool2sweet/Euro%20Wrestling/WCW/ErnestMiller.jpg

"The Cat" Ernest Miller then walks by and, seeing Crowbar sitting there looking depressed, "The Cat" decides to offer a few words of encouragement. Miller tells Crowbar that he knows how rough it is to keep losing matches like that, but he's got to just keep his head up, stay positive, and sooner or later his luck is going to turn around. "The Cat" again says for Crowbar to keep his head up, and as "The Cat" walks off, Crowbar's mood does seem to have improved a bit as he is looking less down and out than he did a few moments ago. (D)

http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t1/bigdaddycool2sweet/Euro%20Wrestling/WCW/Mark%20Jindrak%203.jpgvs.http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t1/bigdaddycool2sweet/Euro%20Wrestling/WCW/AirParis.jpg

Mark Jindrak came out for this one looking like a different man than the Mark Jindrak "of old". There was a focus and an intensity there that both Mike and Tony noted that they hadn't seen out of Jindrak before, and he used that focus and intensity to make short work of Air Paris as he dominated the match from start to finish. Jindrak hit the Mark of Excellence on Paris and it was obvious that he could have pinned him right there, but instead he pulled Paris to his feet and locked in a submission hold that looked very similar to the Tazzmission (because it actually was a Tazzmission) and Air Paris wasted no time tapping out and giving Mark Jindrak an impressive and dominant victory.

Mark Jindrak defeated Air Paris at 3.54 by submission (D-)

http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t1/bigdaddycool2sweet/Euro%20Wrestling/WCW/EricBischoff3.jpghttp://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t1/bigdaddycool2sweet/Euro%20Wrestling/WCW/Victoria.jpghttp://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t1/bigdaddycool2sweet/Euro%20Wrestling/WCW/BigVito.jpghttp://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t1/bigdaddycool2sweet/Euro%20Wrestling/WCW/JohnnyStamboli.jpg

Following Mark Jindrak's impressive win we cut backstage to Eric Bischoff's office where the owner of WCW is joined by Antonina Versace and the Mamalukes, Big Vito and Johnny The Bull. Antonina is thanking Bischoff, who has apparently agreed to sign Antonina's brother to a WCW contract, saying that Bischoff is not going to regret this decision and that her family is going to accomplish great things in WCW. Bischoff says that he has no doubt that they will and that he will be keeping a close eye on them, and Antonina especially. With Big Vito and Johnny The Bull standing menacingly in the background, Antonina and Eric Bischoff are both all smiles as they finalize their deal by shaking hands. (D)

http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t1/bigdaddycool2sweet/Euro%20Wrestling/WCW/RicFlair2.jpghttp://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t1/bigdaddycool2sweet/Euro%20Wrestling/WCW/MikeSanders.jpghttp://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t1/bigdaddycool2sweet/Euro%20Wrestling/WCW/BamBamBigelow2.jpghttp://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t1/bigdaddycool2sweet/Euro%20Wrestling/WCW/StacyKieblerHeel.jpg

Elsewhere in the back "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair is celebrating his victory last night against Sean O'Haire. Flair is partying it up with Mike Sanders and Stacy Keibler while Bam Bam Bigelow, Mike Sanders' hired gun, stands guard in the background. Flair is telling everyone who will listen about how he taught Sean O'Haire a lesson last night at Souled Out, but the party quickly comes to a grinding halt when....

http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t1/bigdaddycool2sweet/Euro%20Wrestling/WCW/Sean%20OHaire.jpg

Sean O'Haire suddenly walks in. O'Haire doesn't attack, however, and instead he just stares "The Nature Boy" down, which is obviously upsetting Flair who looks more than a little uneasy about the situation. The tension is thick in the air and then it suddenly explodes when Bam Bam Bigelow tries to position himself in between O'Haire and Flair. As the two big men begin to brawl all around the locker room, Ric Flair, Mike Sanders and Stacy Keibler all take off running while O'Haire is preoccupied with Bigelow, and when the dust settles on the whole situation one thing remains clear; Ric Flair has once again successfully avoided a confrontation with Sean O'Haire, this time by sacrificing Bam Bam Bigelow. Sean O'Haire is absolutely livid as he yells out that Flair won't be able to run away from him forever, and that sooner or later his time will come. ©

http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t1/bigdaddycool2sweet/Euro%20Wrestling/WCW/Shawn%20Michaels%202.jpghttp://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t1/bigdaddycool2sweet/Euro%20Wrestling/WCW/KevinNash2002.jpghttp://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t1/bigdaddycool2sweet/Euro%20Wrestling/WCW/ScottHall2.jpg

We cut to the nWo locker room where Shawn Michaels, Kevin Nash and Scott Hall are all gathered, and Tony Schiavone quickly notes that these three men haven't been in the same room very often over the past several weeks, much like they haven't been on the same page. Shawn says that he has been giving it a lot of thought and he has realized that Kev and Scott were right; he hasn't been there for them like he should have. He says that when he stood tall last night at Souled Out with his hand raised in victory...he realized how much more that moment would have meant to him if Nash and Hall had been out there with him and Kanyon. He says that he has realized the error of his ways and that he is going to do everything in his power to make it up to them--starting right now. Nash and Hall both look questioningly at Shawn, and Shawn explains that he has been talking to Eric Bischoff and, at Shawn's request, Bischoff has signed off on a match for Fall Brawl; The Outsiders versus....Sons Of The South for the WCW Tag Team Championships! Nash and Hall both look surprised and also a little bit hesitant to believe Shawn's sudden change of heart, but the prospect of a shot at the Tag Team Titles is obviously sitting quite well with them. Scott Hall finally stands up and says he's glad that Shawn has finally come to his senses, and the two men shake hands. Kevin Nash stands up next, a little more hesitant, but he finally shakes Shawn's hand as well--but not without asking what the hell is up with that whole Kanyon business. Shawn says that, much like himself, Kanyon finally came to his senses, and he realized that he was playing for the losing team. Nash says that Shawn can do whatever he wants with Kanyon, he doesn't really care, but Kanyon is NOT gonna be a part of the nWo. Shawn says that's fine, he doesn't have a problem with that and neither does Kanyon. A moment of intense silence follows and Nash then nods his head, saying that it looks like the band is back together. (B-)

http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t1/bigdaddycool2sweet/Euro%20Wrestling/WCW/Sting%20%2042.jpgvs.http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t1/bigdaddycool2sweet/Euro%20Wrestling/WCW/Shane_Douglas7.jpgw/http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t1/bigdaddycool2sweet/Euro%20Wrestling/WCW/TorrieWilson.jpg

The announcers talked about Sting's ongoing issues with Shawn Michaels, Kevin Nash, Scott Hall and now Kanyon, and pointed out that this could be a huge opportunity for Shane Douglas to pick up a big time win if Sting's mind was preoccupied, although both Tony and Mike doubted that Sting would make that mistake. The match itself was good and it was a back and forth affair for the first several minutes. The announcers speculated if perhaps Sting was still a little bit worse for wear after last night's events, but they obviously did not want to take anything away from Shane Douglas. As the match progressed Sting got the upper hand and it looked like it was only a matter of time before he put Douglas away, but when a reluctant Torrie Wilson distracted the referee at Douglas' instruction, Douglas nailed Sting with a vicious lowblow. With Sting down for the moment, Douglas instructed Torrie to grab a steel chair but Torrie obviously didn't want to do it, which promptly a now furious Shane Douglas to grab Torrie's arm as he screamed at her to do as he said.

http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t1/bigdaddycool2sweet/Euro%20Wrestling/WCW/BillyKidman2.jpg

Suddenly Billy Kidman, who hasn't been seen in WCW since he lost the rights to have Torrie as his manager to none other than Shane Douglas, ran down the entrance ramp to stand beside Torrie Wilson. Torrie was all smiles at the return of Kidman, and after some heated words between Kidman and Douglas, Kidman and Torrie walked back up the ramp, leaving Douglas fuming in the ring. Douglas then turned around and found himself face to face with the Stinger, who looked less than thrilled to have been at the receiving end of a lowblow by Douglas moments ago. Douglas tried to beg off, but Sting hit him with a couple of rights and lefts and then nailed the Scorpion Deathdrop for the pinfall victory.

Sting defeated Shane Douglas at 11.55 by pinfall following a Scorpion Deathdrop (B-)

http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t1/bigdaddycool2sweet/Euro%20Wrestling/WCW/EricBischoff3.jpg

As the ring has cleared out "White Train" hits for the second time tonight, bringing the owner of WCW, Eric Bischoff, down to the ring. Bischoff grabs a mic and says that he's out there to talk about WCW's next pay per view; Fall Brawl. He says that Fall Brawl will see the return of WarGames as two teams of four men will will compete inside that massive cage, but what will be on the line? Bischoff says that, after careful consideration, he has decided that the WCW World Heavyweight Championship is NOT going to be on the line in the WarGames match, but the title WILL be defended at the pay per view. Bischoff says that this WarGames match is going to be Team Bischoff versus....Team Sting, and what will be on the line is that if Team Sting wins then Sting will get one more shot at the WCW World Heavyweight Championship at Halloween Havoc, but if Team Bischoff wins then Sting and the three other members of his team will go all the way to the back of the line of contenders to the World Title. In other words; Sting has to gather a team of people who are willing to risk future opportunities at the World Title for themselves all to help Sting get one more shot at the title he has failed to win two pay per views in a row. Bischoff sarcastically wishes Sting good luck gathering his team because he's sure as hell going to need it. Bischoff says that he can't wait for that moment when Sting loses, and when that moment comes at Fall Brawl, Bischoff is going to be right there to rub it in his face! Bischoff then says that before he makes an announcement regarding the World Title match at Fall Brawl, he would like to introduce to everyone the first member of Team Bischoff--and Team Bischoff's team captain.....

http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t1/bigdaddycool2sweet/Euro%20Wrestling/WCW/ChrisKanyon4.jpg

As Kanyon makes his way to the ring, Eric Bischoff is smiling and clapping in the ring, clearly proud of the role Kanyon played last night in keeping the World Title around Shawn Michaels' waist. Once in the ring, Kanyon grabs the mic and says that he would be proud to lead Team Bischoff to victory at Fall Brawl, and just like last night at Souled Out, Kanyon is going to leave Sting lying flat on his back! Kanyon hands the mic back to Bischoff, who says that as far as the World Title is concerned, Shawn Michaels will be defending the title at Fall Brawl and next week there is going to be a number one contenders match on Nitro to determine who will challenge the reigning World Champion for the belt at Fall Brawl. "White Train" then starts playing again and Bischoff and Kanyon starts to leave the ring as Nitro goes to its final commercial break. ©

http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t1/bigdaddycool2sweet/Euro%20Wrestling/WCW/EricBischoff3.jpghttp://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t1/bigdaddycool2sweet/Euro%20Wrestling/WCW/ScottSteiner.jpg

As Nitro returns from commercials "Big Poppa Pump" Scott Steiner is backstage with Eric Bischoff, and Steiner is, as always, demanding to get a shot at the WCW World Heavyweight Championship. Bischoff says that normally he is fine with Steiner's meltdowns as long as they are aimed at the right people, namely the members of Sting's alliance, but that doesn't mean that Steiner gets to call the shots around here. HOWEVER...Bischoff is more than willing to "exchange favors" with "Big Poppa Pump", saying that he would be willing to add Steiner to the number one contenders match next week on Nitro to determine who faces Shawn Michaels at Fall Brawl, but if he does so then Steiner will have to do something for him in return. Steiner says he'll do whatever it takes, just as long as he gets what he deserves. Bischoff smiles and says that it looks like they have come to an agreement, adding that he'll be in touch with Steiner regarding that favor. (B-)

We then cut back to the ring where it is time for our main event of the evening.

WCW United States Championship

http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t1/bigdaddycool2sweet/Euro%20Wrestling/WCW/BookerT.jpgvs.http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t1/bigdaddycool2sweet/Euro%20Wrestling/WCW/JeffJarrett.jpgw/http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t1/bigdaddycool2sweet/Euro%20Wrestling/WCW/CheerleaderMelissa.jpg

These two men had a great match for the US Title less than twenty four hours ago at Souled Out, and this one proved to be another great battle between two great competitors for the United States Championship. The champion started things off by taking it to Jarrett, who still seemed a bit frustrated after losing to Booker T last night at Souled Out, and Cheerleader Melissa was working overtime outside the ring as she cheered Jarrett on and tried to keep him in the match. "The Chosen One" did eventually find his footing and from there the match went back and forth for the next several minutes, and the crowd was very much into it. A huge spinebuster by Booker T scored a nearfall, but Jarrett managed to get his shoulder off the canvas. Booker then missed a kick as Jarrett got out of the way and Booker's leg got caught on the top rope--the same leg that Jarrett had worked on at Souled Out--and "Double J" didn't waste any time going back to work on that leg. Jarrett applied various submission moves all aimed at Booker T's leg, but Booker refused to tap out, much to Jarrett's growing frustration. Jarrett then went for the Stroke, but Booker was able to fight out of it and hit a desperation DDT and then both men were down on the mat. The referee began his count and both men made it back to their feet at the count of eight. Booker T was still limping and Jarrett went back to the leg again, kicking the back of Booker's leg a couple of times before setting up for the Stroke again and......

STROKE!!!!---NOOOOO!!!! Booker T blocked it!

Jarrett tried the Stroke again but this time Booker T spun out of it, grabbed Jarrett and hit the Bookend! An exhausted Booker T then draped an arm across Jarrett's chest...

1....

2....

....3!!!!!

Booker T defeated Jeff Jarrett at 19.12 by pinfall following a Bookend. Booker T retains the WCW United States Championship (B)

And with a shot of Booker T being handed the United States Championship following a successful title defense, another edition of WCW Monday Nitro comes to an end.

Great show man! Loved Jindrak's dominant win, hope people get behind him! :) Your roster is looking very impressive at the moment. I think you're one more big star away from having a really strong Main Event scene. Maybe someone like Kurt Angle would make you huge! (damn that 8 year contract!)

He's still got a little while before anyone good from the WWF becomes available. It'll be interesting to see what he does and if he's successful on the first big free agent!

I enjoyed Nitro quite a bit. Looks like it's really starting to come together for you on the main event level. Segment ratings and match ratings are on the rise which will help boost your company popularity. The push for Jindrak is a thumbs up from me too.

The DDP/Kanyon thing looks like the modern day Sting/Luger relationship, which is also good. Kanyon constantly turning on DDP while DDP will always welcome him with open arms, despite the history.

It'll also be interesting to see what you do with War Games, seeing that HBK and the Outsiders won't be a part of the group. Right now, I'm leaning towards a Team Sting victory, but you're also known for honoring your stipulations. Putting Sting, Goldberg, DDP and Booker at the bottom of the title picture definitely opens it up for new contenders, but the problem on the roster right now is that you really don't have any other viable main event challengers. Not faces, anyway.

Still 100% enjoying this! Keep up the good work! 2003 will probably be the best year yet, so I really can't wait til you get there.

Thanks man! I'm definitely keeping my eyes open for any potential signings. Bringing in someone like Kurt Angle would certainly be huge and there would be so many great matches and feuds just waiting to happen, especially since Kurt can have a great match with pretty much anyone.

Glad you enjoyed the show man. I really liked how it turned out so I'm happy you guys liked it too. There are a lot of (I think) very cool things going on at the moment both in terms of the main event scene, which is more or less planned out into early 2003, but I'm also determined to really get some more midcard stuff going.
