Nitro took the momentum in the early going by running into Hardy, kicking him in the stomach, pounding his back a couple of times, and landing a European uppercut that turned Jeff inside out. Hardy fought back when Nitro whipped him off the ropes by hitting a running neckbreaker and a leg drop to his groin! Hardy went for a quick Twist of Fate, but Nitro escaped out to the floor. Jindrak attacked Hardcore from behind as he and JBL formed a working agreement in the early going. They stomped out Holly and then moved over to Cena, with Jindrak hitting a powerslam. After a quick moment of celebration, Holly hit Cena from behind, but John started to fight back. He answered with a couple of running shoulder blocks and a spin-out back suplex. He went for the Five Knuckle Shuffle, but got hit with a running dropkick by Jindrak! The athletic Jindrak then laid into Holly, bashing his head with hard punches. He got up and taunted Holly to get the crowd going, but Cena came out of nowhere with a shoulder block for him! Orton let his anger get the best of him and Jericho hit him with a drop toe hold, rolled over, and dropkicked him in the face! He tagged in Michaels, who worked on the former Intercontinental Champion, but Orton was able to duck a running forearm to send him flying across the ring. Orton made the tag to Flair, who grabbed Michaels’ hair and went to work. “The Dirtiest Player in the Game” used a variety of characteristically underhanded tactics to try to keep Michaels in the corner, but he was able to back body drop Flair and tag in Van Dam.</span><br id=""><br id=""><span style="font-family: calibri,arial,sans-serif; color: #ffffff;">RVD showed Flair a little bit of his athleticism, knocking the wind out of him after a few minutes with Rolling Thunder! After Orton broke up the two count, he stomped on Van Dam a couple of times, softening him up for “The Nature Boy.” Flair was able to keep him isolated for a bit, but RVD caught him with a spinning heel kick. Flair backed into his corner and tagged in Kane, while RVD looked to his corner and tagged in Shawn Michaels! The crowd heated up as the two rivals got in the ring together! Michaels turned it into a fast-paced affair, hitting a series of quick strikes but got caught in the air on a cross body! Kane turned him and hit a sidewalk slam as he and Evolution began to wear HBK down.</span><br id=""><br id=""><span style="font-family: calibri,arial,sans-serif; color: #ffffff;">The match went on for a bit with each member of the team getting licks in on Michaels, and it eventually descended into chaos when Flair and Kane ran in to attack RVD and Jericho breaking up a pin. Orton got frustrated with Michaels kicking out of every maneuver and went to get a chair. They fought along the outside of the ring, prompting Big Show and Guerrero to get involved as well. Guerrero came off the apron with a cross body to Brock, who caught him in the air. Edge came through the ropes from inside the ring with a suicide dive to Eddie’s back, sending him onto the chest of Lesnar, and straight into Big Show! The crowd was electric after this move, with all men out on the floor!</span><br id=""><br id=""><span style="font-family: calibri,arial,sans-serif; color: #ffffff;">Upon seeing this, Paul Heyman made his way out to the top of the ramp with a look of concern and interest on his face. Guerrero looked up at him and began to walk toward him, but Big Show attacked him from behind! The legal men were still Edge and Lesnar, who ended up back in the ring as a brawl ensued around the outside. Big Show eventually got the upper hand and bodyslammed him on the ramp! Heyman ordered Big Show to take him back to the ring…but Show was puzzled. He put Eddie back up near his corner, with Heyman barking orders the whole way and walking closer to the ring.</span><br id=""><br id=""><span style="font-family: calibri,arial,sans-serif; color: #ffffff;">Brock worked over Edge and made sure he was unable to reach his corner, tagging in and out with Big Show to do some damage. They worked him over for a while as Eddie regained his strength on the outside, eventually extending his hand to get into the ring. Brock was caught with a running dropkick by Edge which knocked them both to the ground. He grabbed Edge’s leg as he went for a tag, but Edge kicked him off and he made the tag! Brock tagged in Big Show, who, after a quick flurry by Eddie, nailed him with a Big Boot! Eventually, he hit the Final Cut, but Heyman started yelling, ordering him to tag in Brock instead of making the pin! Show stood there for a second, and eventually tagged Lesnar in. He went for the F-5, but Eddie fought back! He dropkicked Show off the apron and went for the Three Amigos, but Brock blocked it and used the momentum to lift him onto his shoulders for the F-5! Shelton got some licks in early on which had the game flustered, especially with no one from Evolution out to help him. Benjamin used his athleticism early on the break the concentration of HHH, trying to score an early pinfall. The commentators spent a lot of the early going talking about Benjamin’s amateur background, and how that might create a problem for the champion. Triple H punched Shelton in the gut a couple of times to gain control and sent him hard into the corner, whipping his neck back and sending him straight to the ground.</span><br id=""><br id=""><span style="font-family: calibri,arial,sans-serif; color: #ffffff;">Triple H, after a breather, got it together and started to take over for a stretch. He wore down Shelton while yelling at him, calling him a fluke, a flash in the pan, and a nobody. He essentially cut a promo for the next couple of minutes as he beat down on his challenger, but found himself reeling again after he caught a kick attempt by Benjamin, who clocked him in the head after a Dragon whip! Benjamin began to gain some momentum back by knocking Triple H to the outside after a bulldog, a neckbreaker, and a superkick! Motioning him back into the ring, Benjamin grinned as HHH grabbed a sledgehammer from under the ring!</span><br id=""><br id=""><span style="font-family: calibri,arial,sans-serif; color: #ffffff;">Knowing he would retain the belt by disqualification, HHH brought the sledgehammer in the ring and nudged away referee Earl Hebner. He went for a hit, but Benjamin moved out of the way and ducked for a DDT! At this point, Flair and Orton ran down toward the ring, but were intercepted by Benjamin, who saw them coming and launched himself over the ropes at them, knocking them both out! He got back in the ring and continued his assault on HHH, coupled with a few near falls. Flair recovered; he distracted the referee to ensure Benjamin would not pin the champion. HHH reversed an Irish whip which sent Benjamin into the ropes, where Orton popped up and hit him with a sledgehammer shot to the ribs!
