WWE 2004: The Hangover

Interested to see if you have Mr. MITB cash in immediately after a title match at SS. Kinda makes sense considering the world title matches.

:) you'll see.

Sadly, you'll see later rather than sooner. I've been doing my best to save my FictionPlus progress (via exporting), and I was just finishing up writing the Hell in a Cell match.......until I accidentally hit the F5 key and lost everything. I do have most of it saved and am going to be able to get it back with a bit of work, but I'm gonna have to rewrite the HIAC (which is the longest match I've ever written, by the way)

Kinda slacked off of predicting here for this one, but I got it on now.

World Heavyweight Championship

Hell in a Cell

Shawn Michaels vs. Triple H ©

HBK getting the belt would be a breath of fresh air, because Raw doesn't really feel like it has a lot of challengers on either side of the face/heel divide.

WWE Championship

Eddie Guerrero © vs. Brock Lesnar

Eddie winning puts him over HUGE.

Legend vs. Legend Killer

The Undertaker vs. Randy Orton

This isn't WrestleMania. Randy goes over here in order to slow build toward Taker/Orton at Mania 21.

Grudge Match

Sid Vicious vs. Kane

WWE United States Championship

John Cena vs. JBL w/Sable ©

Can I still get credit by saying that even if Cena wins, JBL retains?

Money in the Bank Ladder Match

Chris Jericho vs. Christian vs. Rob Van Dam vs. Rey Mysterio vs. Edge vs. Kurt Angle

A win like this should shoot Christian's profile sky high, and do the same thing it did for Edge IRL.

Grudge Match

Big Show vs. Luther Reigns

WWE Women's Championship

Lita w/Mickie James © vs. Victoria

Non-Title Interpromotional Tag Match

The Dudley Boyz vs. Lords of the Ring

Intercontinental Title #1 Contendership

Jeff Hardy vs. Shelton Benjamin vs. Johnny Nitro vs. Tyson Rude

Bonus Questions

What will be the highest rated match of the night? Eddie vs Brock

What will be the lowest rated match of the night? Lita vs Victoria

What will be the first match on the card? Cena/JBL

How many titles will change hands? 1

Will there be any turns? If so, who? Maybe Mickie?

Will any workers debut or return? If so, who? Can't think of anyone.

Who will take the fall in the IC #1 contender's match? Rude

The bell rang and the four athletes began a bit of a wild, uncontrollable scrum -- Nitro broke off with Shelton Benjamin while Rude and Hardy got into it with one another. All four men came to play, with there being no clear weak link in the early going. Benjamin got some momentum working in his favor early on by flying over the top rope onto Tyson Rude on the outside! Hardy and Nitro started to go at it in the ring and Nitro unsuccessfully tried to pin Jeff a couple of times.<br id=""><br id="">As the match went on, each man got some near falls. Rude was almost able to finish off Benjamin after a big powerslam, but it was broken up by Johnny Nitro, who then went after Tyson himself. Hardy got involved and he hit Nitro with Poetry in Motion off the back of Shelton! Shelton went for a quick roll-up on Hardy, but Hardy kicked out and dropkicked him in the face! The finish came when Nitro hit his corkscrew neckbreaker on Hardy, but Benjamin rolled him up for the win! Kane landed a throat thrust, but Sid got back into his face and laughed like a maniac! The two traded blow for blow like champions until Kane landed a knee lift to the gut, gaining control. After an Irish whip reversal into a big clothesline, Sid started an assault. He bullied Kane around the ring for much of the early going, but wasn't able to finish him in the first few minutes. Sid was looking for the Powerbomb, but Kane wasn't nearly beaten down enough to allow that to happen. <br id=""><br id="">The tide completely turned, however, when Kane moved out of the way of a potentially-devastating body avalanche into the corner. This knocked the wind out of Sid and allowed Kane to hit a punishing flurry of attacks; Kane relentlessly assaulted Sid with a front powerslam, a sidewalk slam, a running DDT, and finally a Chokeslam for the convincing victory!</span></div></div> </div><div style="position: relative; margin-top: 0px;"><img style="float:left;" src="

Brawlers against technicians meant that Storm and Haas were going to do whatever they could to cut the ring in half. Throughout the early going, this was unsuccessful as both Dudley brothers were able to tag in and out, but as a result, they weren't able to gain any momentum over the SmackDown team. They went for a 3-D early on, but Haas hit a chop block to Bubba Ray, resulting only in a flapjack to Storm.<br id=""><br id="">As the match went on, the Lords became increasingly frustrated with their inability to finish off the Dudleyz. Charlie Haas grabbed a title belt from ringside and slid it in the ring, but Charles Robinson tossed it over the top rope, warning Haas! The match went on for a few minutes longer, until Haas was knocked through the ropes. Bubba felt he was taking too long to regroup, and went to grab his hair through the ropes, but Haas blasted him with the WWE Tag Team Title belt and the referee was forced to disqualify the SmackDown team!</span></div></div> </div><div style="clear: both; position: relative; padding: 5px; margin: 5px 0px; height: auto; border: 1px solid transparent;"> <div style="font-size: 16px; font-family: 'Times New Roman'; display: block;"><div style="text-align: right;"><span style="color: #5daad8;"><span style="font-family: calibri,arial,sans-serif;"><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong id="">Rating</strong></span>: 79 (B)</span><span style="font-family: calibri,arial,sans-serif;"><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong id=""><br id="">Notes</strong></span>: 9:54.</span></span></div></div> </div></div></div><div style="padding:0 5px;overflow:hidden;"><div id=""><div style="height: 18px; cursor: n-resize;"></div><div style="clear: both; position: relative; padding: 5px; margin: 5px 0px; height: auto; border: 1px solid transparent;"> <div style="font-size: 16px; font-family: 'Times New Roman'; display: block;"><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #ffffff;">__________________________________________________________________________________</span></div></div> </div><div style="clear: both; position: relative; padding: 5px; margin: 5px 0px; height: auto; border: 1px solid transparent;"> <div style="font-size: 16px; font-family: 'Times New Roman'; display: block;"><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #5daad8; font-family: calibri,arial,sans-serif;">Backstage, an angry <strong id="">Big Show</strong> stands with Josh Mathews. Reigns and Show, from their time together, knew each other's every move and each man countered the other on a variety of occasions. Reigns flashed his impressive power, being able to work the big man over on the ground for a good chunk of the match. He clotheslined Big Show over the top rope and let out a primal scream, drawing heat from the crowd.<br id=""><br id="">Reigns followed Big Show out to the ground, clearing the Spanish announce table. Despite trying to slam Big Show's head into the table, Reigns found himself taking elbows to the gut. Show shoved him off and Reigns ran at him, but Show sent him into the ring post to buy himself some time! With Edge being the last one to come out, Kurt Angle jumped him as he walked down the aisle. This kickstarted the pandemonium that would highlight most of this matchup. RVD went after Christian, Jericho after Mysterio, and the action was like a swarm early on, bodies flying like ragdolls everywhere as the opportunistic "Captain Charisma" looked to capitalize on the chaos. Christian ran back toward the ring to grab a ladder from underneath it, going to pull it from inside the ring. Seeing this, Rey Mysterio ran up on the apron and smacked the ladder down, whacking Christian in the face with it!<br id=""><br id="">Mysterio began a fight with Van Dam in the ring, and the two showed off some impressive athleticism, with Mysterio dropkicking the ladder into RVD's face! Jericho came in and attacked Mysterio, sending him outside the ring. As Jericho went for the ladder, Angle ran up behind him and hit a German Suplex, sending the ladder flying! Angle threw Jericho down toward Mysterio and went to set up the ladder. However, Christian brought in another ladder and smacked Angle with it, sending him through the ropes! Christian grabbed the top rope and launched himself over it, hitting a plancha to Angle, Mysterio, and Jericho! Next, Edge came flying through the ropes with a Spear to the four men! Finally, Rob Van Dam climbed the ladder near the ropes and jumped from the top of it onto all five of his opponents!<br id=""><br id="">Angle was the first to his feet and rolled into the ring with Rob Van Dam. Both ladders in the ring were used here, and reaching a stalemate, RVD tossed his ladder into Angle, who dropped his and RVD hit a superkick! Van Dam tried to climb the ladder, but Edge pulled him down by his legs. He knocked RVD down and grabbed a ladder. Meanwhile, Christian slid in the ring and grabbed the other ladder. RVD stood up in the middle of the ring and the two brothers smashed RVD in between the two ladders! They gave each other a high five, calling back to the E&C days, but Christian landed a low blow and went to climb his ladder! He climbed ever closer, but Rey Mysterio jumped up on the top rope and springboarded to the ladder! He climbed quickly and started to battle Christian at the top of the ladder. Next, Jericho got in the ring and set up a ladder next to the two of them!<br id=""><br id="">With both ladders now next to each other, Y2J looked to reach over his adversaries to grab the belt. However, it became a three man brawl, and then a four man one as Angle started to climb, attacking Jericho. A third ladder came into play, and Rob Van Dam and Edge found themselves up on those now! All six men atop the ladder, and Jericho grabbed the head of Angle, flying off the top with a bulldog! Mysterio flipped over the head of Christian and hit a sunset flip powerbomb! The impact of the two slams shook the final ladder, sending RVD and Edge teetering and falling all the way to the outside!<br id=""><br id="">Van Dam was the first one up along with Mysterio, and he hit him with a huge Superkick, leaving RVD alone in the ring with the ladder! He climbed it slowly...rung by rung...and as his fingertips were on the briefcase, a man ran down the ramp and smashed him with a steel chair! It's Tyson Rude! Christian's "Problem Solver" picked up the limp body of "Captain Charisma," threw him on the ladder, stood underneath him, and pushed him upwards using his legs, rushing Christian to the briefcase! Probably concussed, all Christian had to do was lift his arms up to unhook the briefcase. JBL started with a smirk which got punched off his face by Cena and the bout was underway. The physicality of this one manifested in strikes and hard slams by both parties. JBL used an eye rake to take advantage and wear down his opponent. He locked in a sleeper hold, crushing the trachea of Cena for a minute or two before Cena got out and upped the pace again. Cena went for the F-U early, but JBL slid off and tossed Cena into the corner. A big clothesline into the corner picked up a two count for Layfield.<br id=""><br id="">As the match wore on, Cena showed a great amount of heart and spirit, gaining the momentum with a DDT and a spin-out Fisherman's Suplex! JBL kicked out and Sable tried to get up on the apron to distract Cena, who just smiled at her. He approached her, and JBL went for a Clothesline From Hell, but Cena ducked and he bounced off the ropes. He came back and Cena kicked him in the gut and hit a back suplex-spun out into a Powerbomb! JBL kicked out again, however!<br id=""><br id="">Cena lifted up JBL and whipped him into the corner. As he went for an attack, Bradshaw cleverly angled the referee in front of him, and Cena crashed into Charles Robinson, sending him down to the ground! Sable slid in the US Title to JBL, who went to smack Cena with it, but Cena ducked and he hit the champion with an F-U! There was no referee, however, and Cena got up -- to a 3-on-1 assault by...The Chosen Ones?! Porter, Burke, and Jordan stomped on Cena as the challenger unsuccessfully fought off the assault. Jordan put Cena in a Dragon suplex position, holding his arms behind his back, and Porter and Burke hit tandem Superkicks, sending Cena into the suplex! JBL grinned as he pulled himself up by the ropes and blasted Cena with a Clothesline From Hell! Sable woke up the referee and he rolled over to count a 1...2...3! The arrogant "Legend Killer" immediately slipped out of the enraged 'Taker's grasp and slid to the outside, drawing the ire of the crowd. He slowly climbed back into the ring and traded blows with the big man, who sent him back into the corner with a series of throat thrusts. Undertaker had the momentum in his favor early on, until Orton started to pull his hair and rake his eyes in order to get any sort of leverage. The 24-year-old started to work on his opponent with a side headlock, exerting presure on his neck. <br id=""><br id="">The Undertaker spent much of the middle portion of the match fighting from behind as Orton, almost wolf-like, refused to let him get any semblance of a breather. He stomped all over 'Taker's body, hit knee-drops, a belly-to-back suplex, and a neckbreaker. He posed above The Undertaker's body, letting up for just one second, and 'Taker sat up! Orton's eyes widened as he began to feel a flurry of attacks including a punching combination, Snake Eyes, a running big boot, a leaping flying clothesline, and even Old School! Orton was reeling as The Undertaker went for a Chokeslam, but Orton elbowed out. He bounced off the ropes, but ran right into a DDT! 'Taker covered but only got a two count.<br id=""><br id="">Undertaker delivered a bit more punishment until Orton surprised him and went for the RKO, but 'Taker sent him flying over the top rope! He rolled the body of Orton back into the ring and climbed up to the apron, hitting a huge leg drop, 305 pounds across the neck of "The Legend Killer!" Undertaker picked him up and hit a couple of punches, knocking Orton back into the ropes, but Orton bounced off with a snap clothesline! This got a two count, and Orton jumped on him immediately with plenty of hard punches. He hit a gutwrench neckbreaker, garning another two. Randy called for the RKO, as 'Taker got up. The Phenom sent Orton's attempt away, and he turned around into a hand around the throat! Undertaker went for a Chokeslam -- which Orton <em id="">somehow</em>  reversed into an RKO! Lesnar puffed out his chest early and laughed at the "Eddie!" chants from the audience. Lesnar screams that Eddie 'ain't nothing' and the two lock up. Eddie gets up from each of Lesnar's throws early on and managed to find his way out of each othe grabs that Lesnar attempted, but he got caught in the corner and choked by Lesnar early on. He got hit with a back body drop and a snap suplex as Lesnar went on the attack. Guerrero blocked a punch and hit a few of his own, but got hti with a knee lift and some more pounding attack by Brock.  The crowd continued to get behind Eddie as he fought back and went for a seated senton from the second rope, but Lesnar caught him and planted him with a powerbomb!<br id=""><br id="">Lesnar continued his assault, hitting a combination of belly-to-belly suplexes in between taunting the champion. Brock utilized his superior strength and agility to wear down Guerrero for much of the early part of the match. drawing boos from the crowd by raising his arms in the air. Guerrero starts to fight back with a shoulder to the gut. He grabbed Lesnar's head and jumped over the top rope, draping his neck over it! Eddie starts to run wild a bit, dropkicking Brock in the knee and then in the face. Guerrero had an Irish whip into the corner reversed, but ducked Lesnar, who collided with the ring post after a running dive into the turnbuckle area! Eddie went for a quick roll-up, but Brock kicked out. When they got up, Brock kicked Eddie in the gut and hit him with a muscle buster! <strong id="">1, 2, no!</strong><br id=""><br id="">A grapevine wore down Guerrero for much of the next few minutes, before he was able to make his way to the ropes and out of the hold. Guerrero grabbed his way up the ropes, and Lesnar continued his dissection of the champion into the corner. Lesnar went to the other side of the ring and went for a high knee into the corner, but Guerrero jumped out of the way, sending the challenger crashing to the floor! Eddie hit a plancha to the floor, and both men were down! When they got back into the ring, Lesnar found himself on his back as Eddie struggled him into the Lasso From El Paso! The debilitating submission move was locked in as Brock screamed in pain! Lesnar was able to power out after a couple of minutes, grabbing the ropes to break the hold!<br id=""><br id="">The damage was done, however, and Lesnar was clearly in bad shape. The two men went back and forth essentially on fumes as the match wore on, and Brock went for a tilt-a-whirl which was reversed into a leg scissors! Lesnar got up and missed an avalanche into the corner, but when Eddie went for the Three Amigos, Lesnar hoisted him up on his shoulders after the second one! He went for the F-5, but Eddie landed on his feet, kicking Lesnar and hitting the final suplex! Brock kicked out, however. Both men were spent as they were down for a count of seven. Brock landed a kick to Guerrero's gut and went for a suplex of his own, but Eddie slipped out the back and rolled him up! The champion put his feet on the ropes and the referee didn't see it! 1, 2, 3! The early part of this matchup was an absolute slugfest, with each man standing toe-to-toe with the other and delivering kicks, punches, elbows, chops, and other strikes. No love lost between these two meant an absolute war. A clothesline from Triple H and a Lou Thesz Press from Michaels showed that neither man would back down from the other. The two battled it out in the early going until a Michaels clothesline took them both to the floor! Along the outside, they started using the steel cell to their advantage. A "Michaels" chant broke out after he slingshotted "The Game" into the unforgiving steel, already opening up a cut across his forehead!<br id=""></span></div></div> </div><div style="margin-bottom: 10px; position: relative; margin-top: 0px;" align="right"><div style="float:right;"><img style="float: right;" src="

He began to absolutely assault Michaels with stomps (straight from his white pay-per-view boots), knees, a backbreaker, a delayed vertical suplex, and a sidewalk slam, before making a cover for a two count. Even kicking out aggravated the back injury, and Triple H continued to attack. He rolled outside the ring and grabbed a steel chair, rolling it in the ring. He rolls HBK in the ring, and there's only a two count. Triple H dropped him with a sidewalk slam on the chair, covering again but only getting two! He picked up Michaels for an atomic drop, but Michaels flipped over him and clotheslined him over the top rope! Having run out of adrenaline, Michaels dropped to the ground, allowing HHH to make it back in the ring. He rolled "The Game" into the ring and went to crack him with the steel chair, but Triple H ducked and took the chair, bashing it over his head! HHH rolled to the outside and dislodged the steel steps, throwing in the smaller top part! Michaels was up by the time he got back in the ring, and he met him with strikes. Triple H whipped him into the ropes, but Shawn hit a flying forearm! He went for a kip up, but was unable to because of the unbearable pain in his back! Triple H took advantage; he blasted Michaels in the skull with the steel steps! HHH covered and got a two count! Triple H tossed him out of the ring and went outside, taunting him. He asked him if he "want

He brought him in the ring and landed a AA Spinebuster on the steel steps! Michaels kicked out again, however! "The Game" unloaded with punches to the head of Michaels, opening up the wound further. WWE RAW
Monday, Week 4, August 2004

One last RAW will air this month; it's the night after SummerSlam and we are 24 hours out of crowning a brand new World Heavyweight Champion! After the beating suffered by both Triple H and Shawn Michaels, will either of them be in the building tonight? Our main event will feature two members of Triple H's crew, Randy Orton and the recently returned Batista, taking on Chris Jericho and Chris Benoit in a tag team match

Tag gold will be on the line as well, with the Dudleyz taking on La Resistance. Also, Cade and Murdoch make their debut! Furthermore, the man who many believe should have won the Money in the Bank contract will take on the man who robbed him of it as Rob Van Dam goes one-on-one with Christian!

Don't miss all the action; tune in to Spike TV at 9pm EST/6pm PST!

Comment: I'm loving the use of Gail here. Mickie wins this time, though.

World Tag Team Championship

The Dudley Boyz © vs. La Resistance

Comment: I just don't see the belts going to La Resistance.

Tajiri vs. Johnny Nitro w/Melina

Comment: Nitro regains the momentum that he lost at SummerSlam here.

Heidenreich and Spike Dudley vs. Lance Cade and Trevor Murdoch

Comment: A nice RAW debut right here for Cade & Murdoch.

Rob Van Dam vs. Christian w/Trish Stratus and Tyson Rude

Comment: Unless you have the mindset of the WWE, ''the MITB winner has to lose every single match out of the ones for the briefcase before he cashes-in'', Christian is not losing here.

Chris Jericho and Chris Benoit vs. Randy Orton and Batista w/Ric Flair

Comment: The Undertaker distracts Orts right here.

Comments on Previous Show: A fantastic SummerSlam, though I was terrible at the predictions, but that is not a bad thing, because surprises rule, and you are a box full of them! Loved Christian winning the briefcase, and Michaels winning the World Heavyweight Championship, I definitely didn't saw this coming. :D KUTGW.

Amazing... Haven't read the HiaC match just yet, possibly later on. But the rest of the show was incredible!!! I got a little confused between Rey and RVD in the MITB ladder match, and at one point I thought Rey was climbing when Rude came down... but that's my thing. (they both begin with R!!!!) - I could picture the ending though, with Rude pushing Christian up the ladder :D

Overall the show was very good, and like you said, WWE needs new referees!!! :p

I'm doing the rounds and catching up on what I've missed over recent weeks; and I'm gutted I missed Summerslam.

It was a great show and really well written. HBK vs HHH was a fantastic write up. It's a shame the rating for MITB wasn't as good as the write up - kudos on that. I was also expecting Eddie vs Brock to pull a better rating; but with the Raw main event being as strong as it was you could've put on anything and you'd still have had a great show.

All the talk in the build-up was for a MITB cash-in but I'm glad you resisted the temptation as that would've ruined the moment; granted you'd have no doubt written it so well that it wouldn't have actually ruined anything but shh!

Save the cash-in for a lesser show once you've built Christian up more; the last thing you want is for him to flop.

KUTGW!

Comment: ... no words...

Comments on Previous Show: Some of my picks didnt pan out but damn it feels good to have Cap'n Charisma as Mr. MITB and HBK as World Heavyweight Champion!

Correction; one word: HeidenSpike.

And yeah, I'm excited for this breath of fresh air too. As much as I love booking Triple H as champion because it's so damn easy, I think it's going to be fun to have that wild card floating around along with a face World Champ.

I don't know what mindset you're referring to. This is the first time the WWE has had a MitB winner :p

Thanks!

I actually re-read the MitB writeup when you said that and I could see how it would be confusing. Damn pronouns. But yeah, I realized how much interference there was in the middle of that show, but all of them were really important to my storylines moving forward. I toyed with having even more interference, but decided against it because it was just too much.

Kinda expected a cash in considering how you described HBK after the match.

TFC has it right :)

Great to hear that you're enjoying everything! And yeah, I've got some very nice plans for Christian. I honestly do think that Edge was the perfect choice IRL, but I think with the spin that I'm going to put on this, Christian being the beneficiary will fit right into my plans.

Awesome show and Christian winning was shocking to me (I have to start reading from page one to catch up) and the rating for the MITB match is weird in my opinion. Great match for Triple H and Shawn Michaels! They always have great chemistry so the A isn't that surprising.

WWE Monday Night RAW: Week 4, August 2004

WWE RAW
Monday, Week 4, August 2004

RAW kicks off with a highlight video and we’re welcomed to the show by Jim Ross and Jerry “The King” Lawler. The two men aren't sure whether
Shawn Michaels
or
Triple H
is in the building tonight after that brutal, life-changing Hell in a Cell war, but as they're in the middle of speculating -- music hits!

RATING:
88 (B+)

Notes
: None.

____________________________________________

"Sexy Boy" blares over the PA system and the crowd explodes for
"The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels
! The brand new World Heavyweight Champion comes out with this belt, heavily bandaged, and limping down toward the ring. He steps inside of it, soaking up the adoration of the crowd while grabbing a microphone.

http://i.imgur.com/LEKpexqs.jpg

"Last night at SummerSlam, two fierce rivals went to one of the bloodiest and gruesome wars of all-time in this business. I've had a Street Fight against Triple H, I've been in a Triple Threat, an Elimination Chamber, I've even had a Last Man Standing match...but last night, neither man was able to stand after the battle that we went through. Two men went in to the Hell in a Cell match and only one man came out victorious, and that was "The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels! Last night--"

Michaels is interrupted by
, and it turns out to be
Christian
, along with
Tyson Rude
! Briefcase in hand, the pair walk out to the ring as Christian cuts him off with a microphone.

http://i.imgur.com/9bHsEeHs.jpg

"Hey Shawn, I've got news for ya. Nobody in this audience gives a
crap
about your never-ending high school best friend drama with Triple H. The Peeps care about one thing and one thing only: the fact that "Captain Charisma" can have a title shot anytime, anywhere for the next 365 days! I could cash this in at Unforgiven, I could cash this in at WrestleMania, hell I could cash this in right here
tonight
!"

Next, "Break the Walls Down" hits and
Chris Jericho
is out to join the fray! He gets into the ring with a microphone as well, to a huge pop from the audience!

http://i.imgur.com/dhDKZ5hs.jpg

"Listen here you smug, pompous little jackass. You might have stolen that briefcase, but there is nobody in this locker room that deserves a shot at that World Title more than "Y2J." I am
the
holder of the
prestigious
Intercontinental Title which makes me next in line. If it weren't for me and your oiled up manservant, you wouldn't even be holding that contract right now so why don't you--"

Fire explodes from the stage as the entrance of the sadistic
Kane
comes next. Christian backs off while Jericho and Michaels stand their ground. Kane just smiles at the two of them -- he's not here to fight. He grabs a microphone as well!

http://i.imgur.com/Pp9cPOss.jpg

"At SummerSlam, Shawn, I took your insurance policy apart. You know what that means...the next person who I send to the depths is going to be
you
. Even if I have to go through these puny worms to do it."

Kane starts to laugh evilly toward Jericho and Christian, but "The Game" hits and the former World Heavyweight Champion is confirmed to be in the building! Just as injured as Michaels,
HHH
comes to the top of the ramp along with
Ric Flair
and he is in an incredibly foul mood.

http://i.imgur.com/f3EHQcJs.jpg

"Hold on a minute, boys. I think you're all forgetting something. Last night, when my title was stolen away from me with my own finishing move...I knew that right here tonight I would be invoking my rematch clause at Unforgiven in three weeks. So Christian, Jericho, Kane, I think you all should get your minds off of that title because there isn't a shot in
hell
you get a chance at it before
I
do--"

<iframe width="420" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/we5O6D6YDxo?rel=0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

It's
Mr. McMahon
! The Chairman of the Board comes out to a deafening ovation from the crowd! Smirking, he walks out to the top of the ramp with yet another microphone in hand.

http://i.imgur.com/YMMyYJvs.jpg

"Ladies and gentlemen, I, Vince McMahon, have come here to RAW tonight to make a very important announcement. At Unforgiven on the second Sunday of September, Shawn Michaels will defend his World Heavyweight Title. Against who, you might ask? Well, Chris Jericho you do have a claim to the title, after all the Money in the Bank Ladder Match was a rousing success. And you know how much I like great business moves."

The crowd cheers, wanting McMahon to book Jericho in the title match.

"Buuuut...not only were you not able to win your own creation, you allowed a man that you
hate
with every fiber of your soul to win that contract. So therefore, I don't believe you deserve a title shot. Now speaking of Christian, unless you choose to enter the match using your Money in the Bank contract, you will
not
be taking on Shawn Michaels for the World Title at Unforgiven."

Christian throws his hands in the air and starts to protest along with Rude, but to no avail.

"Now that brings me to "The Big Red Machine" Kane. You have led a path of destruction for the past few months looking to get to Shawn Michaels and you will eventually get your hands on him --
if
...and
only
if...you do
not
interfere in the World Heavyweight Title match at Unforgiven. You will not be taking on Shawn Michaels."

Kane grits his teeth and does not look pleased with McMahon's declaration.

"Finally, that leaves me with the man who
will
be taking on Shawn Michaels at Unforgiven, and that is "The Game" Triple H!"

Triple H thrusts his hands in the air in celebration, securing another shot at the belt. McMahon isn't done, however.

"But before you start celebrating, I have something else to add to this event. As you all know, I am a businessman and I have to make sure that we put on the best possible match for our fans. Now as Shawn said, you two have already squared off in a Street Fight, Last Man Standing, Hell in a Cell, and countless other match types. Now what's something brand new that can
truly
prove who's the better wrestler? How about at Unforgiven, we have "The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels defend the World Heavyweight Championship against "The Game" Triple H...in a
sixty-minute Iron Man match!
"

The crowd goes absolutely ballistic at this announcement! In three weeks, we will see HBK/HHH one more time! But McMahon isn't finished -- one more quick declaration:

"Oh, and by the way, I forgot to mention...if you, Triple H, fail to defeat Shawn Michaels in your World Title rematch...you will not be able to challenge for the belt as long as Michaels is champion! And Shawn, if you fail to defeat Triple H, your rematch clause will not be enacted, because it will be null and void!"

In the locker room of
Evolution
, there is a bit of a commotion. Triple H is furious about having lost his title and now having to be involved in a 60-minute Iron Man match at Unforgiven, while Flair tries to calm him down. Flair tells him to listen; it's okay that Triple H lost his title, Evolution's back at full strength. Big Dave is back, Randy picked up a big win over The Undertaker, and Triple H has a shot to get his title back. He says they're at full strength and puts his hand in. Orton places his hand on top of Flair's, then Batista. Calmer, Triple H puts his hand on top of theirs. Flair finishes by saying "
Evolution
is the solution, baby."

The oddball pairing of Heidenreich and Spike Dudley couldn’t get on the same page in this one. The cowboy-hat-wearing Cade and his cousin Murdoch made a successful RAW debut with a combination Lariat/chop block, which the announcers referred to as the “Sweet and Sour.”

Backstage, Jonathan Coachman has an interview segment with
Christian

Tyson Rude and Trish Stratus
, Christian says that RVD has no claim to the briefcase and that just because Rob couldn’t get the job done doesn’t mean he should try to take his frustrations out on the innocent “Captain Charisma!” He’s in the process of calling RVD a has-been when he’s interrupted.

Jeff Hardy
appears on screen, just to remind Christian that he’s still got a bone to pick with Tyson Rude. If either of them think that he won’t be watching this match, they’d be completely wrong. If something goes down, Jeff says, he’ll be out in the blink of an eye. Then, he wishes him luck and walks off.

Rob Van Dam
vs.
Christian w/Tyson Rude and Trish Stratus

Van Dam was fired up throughout this one, seriously believing that that briefcase should have been his. The typically laid back and collected Van Dam stayed on the attack and barely showed any form of his jokey, cocky self, instead sporting a fresh edge in this contest. Christian was unsure how to react to this different personality, and he and Van Dam were able to put on a very good match. Able to fend off the constant distractions from the outside, RVD was able to roll up Christian with his legs and get a quick three count over Mr. Money in the Bank!

In the back,
Chris Jericho

Jericho and Benoit both iterate that they’re going to go to the ring and teach these guys a lesson in wrestling, and both hope that this positions them for a World Title shot.

Chris Jericho and Chris Benoit
vs.
Batista and Randy Orton w/Ric Flair

This match highlighted the strengths of each of these four men. Orton used methodical strategy to cut Jericho off from the corner early on as he and Batista made quick tags in and out to beat down on Y2J. Benoit stood on the outside and when he came in, he attacked with fury befitting of a man with “The Rabid Wolverine” nickname. Benoit took it to both Orton and Batista, and Jericho got back involved using his Japanese junior style to lead a balanced attack against both men, but it was Orton and Batista who were able to pick up a win here. The two finished off their opponents after a very good match with an Orton RKO to Chris Jericho.

After the match,
Batista and Orton
have their hands raised as
Ric Flair
gets into the ring to applaud them. With their opponents walking to the back,
Triple H
makes his way down the ramp as well. The four members of Evolution stand tall, all with their hands raised despite there being no more gold in the group. Each of them climbs up the turnbuckle and puts their hands in the air, inaudibly mouthing about being at “full strength” once again. Flair hops off and turns around –
right into a near-decapitating clothesline from Batista!
The crowd reacts, then hushes as Orton and Triple H look shocked, but then display grins across their faces as they start a vicious stomping assault on “The Nature Boy!”

Boot after boot ensues; Triple H begins to spout insults at Flair, grabbing him by his suit jacket and pummeling him in the face. He pulls the lifeless (and now bloodied) Flair to his feet, planting him with a Pedigree in the middle of the ring! The Evolution beatdown was not over, however; Batista lifted Flair to his feet and held him up so Orton could hit a crushing RKO! Flair’s limp carcass was pulled up to a doubled over position by his former tag team partner Batista, who delivered the finishing blow in the form of a ferocious Batista Bomb! With “The Nature Boy” out cold in the center of the ring, the now-trio of Evolution joins arms and raises their hands in the air, once again talking about “full strength.”

WWE SmackDown!
Thursday, Week 4, August 2004

The last SmackDown of the month happens to be the first one after the monumental SummerSlam event! Eddie Guerrero survived with his WWE Title after triumphing over "The Next Big Thing" Brock Lesnar, but at what cost? What's next for the WWE Title? Also, will The Undertaker be in attendance to talk about his controversial loss to Randy Orton at SummerSlam?

In terms of action, the Colons will take on Jamie Noble and Nunzio while Mark Jindrak and Hardcore Holly take part in a Street Fight! Kurt Angle and Rey Mysterio will go one-on-one, while Edge takes on Chavo Guerrero!

Find out what happens at 8 pm Eastern/5 pm Pacific this Thursday night on UPN!

Billy Kidman w/Torrie Wilson vs. Matt Hardy

Comment: Matt seems higher on the totem pole.

Bryan Lloyd vs. Luther Reigns

Comment: A surprise win can do wonders for Bryan.

Street Fight

Hardcore Holly vs. Mark Jindrak

Comment: While this could be tailored to give Holly a win, I think Mark beating him at his own game will be even better.

The Colons (Carlito and Eddie) vs. Jamie Noble and Nunzio

Comment: Though I much prefer Guido.

Rey Mysterio vs. Kurt Angle

Comment: I already went for one surprise win with Bryan, so I say Kurt takes this one.

Edge vs. Chavo Guerrero

Comment: Edge is definitely higher on the totem pole compared to his opponent.

Comments on Previous Show: Allow me to be the first to say: Holy shit!! That was an AMAZING show from top to bottom, from the opening A* segment clear through to the final one! Flair as a face will be great, because even in Evolution the fans always wanted to cheer Ric anyways, just because he's Ric Flair.

On another note, it's too bad this doesn't take place following Talladega Nights: The Legend of Ricky Bobby's release, or else it would be so perfect to call Cade and Murdoch's finisher the Shake 'n Bake. Because rednecks, y'know?

First of all, I would like to say that I would have loved to see that mistake continue in there, because I prefer Primo way more than Eddie :p

Billy Kidman w/Torrie Wilson vs. Matt Hardy

Comment: Please.

Bryan Lloyd vs. Luther Reigns

Comment: I will just agree with Beej right here.

Street Fight

Hardcore Holly vs. Mark Jindrak

Comment: Bob can't do much else, while Mark can. A win here makes him a good threat.

The Colons (Carlito and Primo) vs. Jamie Noble and Nunzio

Comment: Carlito and PRIMO have awesome potential together. I can't wait to see Carlito alone as well.

Rey Mysterio vs. Kurt Angle

Comment: Rey won the Triple Threat before the Ladder Match, so I say that Angle wins here.

Edge vs. Chavo Guerrero

Comment: If you want to kill Edge's heat completely (it looks like that a bit, but if it is part of long-term planning then I have no right to complain), then Chavo wins.

Comments on Previous Show: I'll echo Beej saying that it was an awesome show. The ending was a huge surprise to me, because I thought that Evolution would survive one more year as a four-men stable, but I guess I was wrong. The turn was done awesomely BTW, and now I have a reason to predict Michaels retaining at Unforgiven - unless a huge swerve occurs with Flair turning heel again, he's helping Michaels win at Unforgiven.
