I may or may not have marked out obscenely hard in the middle of astronomy lab when I read the Christian cash-in.

That was EPIC!!! The Christian cash-in was incredible!! No Kane on Smackdown to run him off. Would love to see him holding both titles he if can beat Michaels on RAW but something tells me that isn't going to happen.

I'm absolutely thrilled that the cash-in got this type of reaction. Back when I started brainstorming for this diary, I was on my couch for a couple of months after knee surgery, so there were a bunch of stupid ideas thrown around in my painkiller-induced and sleep-deprived mental states, but this was one of the ones that stuck. I knew I wanted to do something different from what happened in real life, even though I loved how MITB catapulted Edge to his full potential. I think my scenario would have worked in real life as well, but it gets the added reaction from you guys because you know that Edge was the original MITB winner and cashed in similarly, it has the added irony in that sense. I'm very glad that one of my original plans finally panned out after such a slow burn and it got exactly the reaction I'd hoped, for the most part. I just have no idea how I'm going to top it next year

You have no idea how anxious I was when I saw you predict that Christian would cash in on Guerrero at ... I think it was Survivor Series? I was hoping it'd slip by that he could cash in on SmackDown too. You were partially the reason I brought back the Armageddon HIAC too - I wanted to throw in as many red herrings as possible to distract from the predictability of Edge winning. And that's also why I set up the Christian vs. HBK match for the next night. So props to you (and crackerjack too) - it might not have been so successful without you

it happens sometimes. I'll sit here and send out a preview knowing that most people will get a 5/6 or 6/6 as well sometimes and I'll feel predictable. But I just think it was sort of a weird show in that manner.

 

Guys I couldn't believe it either!

Hardcore Holly's the new TV Champ!

 

Hell of a show. The new champion will be a breath of fresh air, not like SD was lacking in freshness as it was though. The ramifications of this could indeed be tremendous, and I can't wait to see what you do with it. In other news of the show, I was surprised by the other title change but it should fit pretty well. As far as the US title goes, as soon as I saw the new spinner belt, I knew I had made a good call on the winner, so I could almost say that one was somewhat telegraphed. But you did a great job of not telegraphing the ending whatsoever, and as such it was a pleasant shock that has me wanting more.... so give!

 

Beej basically said everything that I wanted to...this was just an amazing show with one of the best twists that I have ever seen, RKO. I also loved my man Dupree's performance, he definitely belongs in the Main Event! Can't wait for more!

 

Yeah, I figured the new US Title thing would be a bit of a giveaway, that's why I didn't give it away on a SmackDown or in the preview or anything. But just because it's a spinner title doesn't mean I can't give it to say - Muhammad Hassan or JBL or someone like that...they're hip too

 

I was also torn on giving the TV Title to Hardcore Holly, but the man deserves it tbh. Matt was a good champion and could totally get another run, but I really want to make a conscious effort to utilize his potential and good match ratings on a larger scale if possible.

 

I actually decided mid-writeup that that's what I was going to do with Dupree in that match. I felt it added an extra wrinkle to the match and his character, since he hasn't quite proven yet he can go toe-to-toe with all of those guys. Glad he's getting a positive reaction from readers though.

 

Whoops...I thought I'd gotten my picks in for this show a while back, but I guess not. New job is scrambling my brains apparently.

 

Anyway, I never saw that cash in coming, but it makes all the sense in the world. This seems to lay the groundwork for an Edge vs. Christian match at Mania, which would "totally reek of awesomeness!"

WONDERFUL way to end the show! The original Mr. MITB, the Ultimate Opportunist... GOT GOT!

 

Excited to see what happens with Christian. Will he be contractually obligated to appear on Smackdown? Does this mean Hardcore FREAKIN' Holly is the top champ on the blue brand? So many questions!

 

Also before I forget, damn that B-Lloyd and Hassan match was brutal. Hopefully mah main man can come back and make that jerk tap out

 

Sometimes, in alternate universes, things have a funny way of playing out, don't they?

 

Everything regarding Christian's murky status thanks to the MITB contract will be cleared up on RAW, I can guarantee you that. Even though Vince got taken out last week, the 'powers that be' still want to get the money and the contracts straight. And are you saying that Holly's a bigger champ than the Doctor of Thuganomics?!

 

Those evil foreigners and their foreign objects ... holding down the blue-collar every-man. Even though Bryan lost here, he's definitely got a bright future, don't worry about that.

 

Well that was a load of rubbish. Worst show I've ever read. About the only saving grace is that I was always a Muhammed Hassan fan (said no one ever)!!

 

Okay, seriously though... My thoughts:

 

Overall, I think you may already know this, the show was awesome!!! Top to bottom, as you said to ca and I, it kicks the crap out of Armageddon in real life that year. The under card had matches I cared about throughout!!

 

The Rhyno/Show vs Lords of the Ring match was possibly the only 'meh' match. But I need to try to remember that Show is 32 and Rhyno is only 29 at this point so they're not as stale as they are in real life. (side note, Rhyno is awesome in NXT and can't wait for him to fight Corbin. But all he does is 30 second match with Gore Gore Gore, so he's a little stale!)

 

Hardcore Holly winning the TV Title is awesome in my opinion. He never really got the credit he deserved for his long WWE run in the form of a Title run. 6-time Hardcore Champ, and 3-time WWE Tag Champ is not a lot in 16 years! So props to you for giving him the strap. I thought his feud with Lesnar in real life was great, and he can hang with anyone in a well written feud in my opinion, so good luck to you with him

 

The best thing that could happen to Lloyd after that loss to Hassan is a lengthy spell on the sidelines. Maybe even 6 months! Then he comes back as a massively over babyface when Hassan has been dominating the Smackdown roster for ages. Upon his return, he's suddenly this amazing submission wrestler and beats Hassan via tap out!!! Or... He could demand a re-match for the dodgy finish... I'd buy that!

 

Cena and Undertaker scored straightforward, but well written wins

 

Then the Main Event happened... Going in, I just couldn't call it! I thought Eddie was the front runner. But then Angle is Angle. And Lesnar is a beast! Then JBL could be ready to explode onto the Main Event scene... And then there's Rene Dupree! Never sure how far you're going to go with him!!! So to see Edge win... was a shock to me... despite how well he's done lately. I was delighted for him winning his first Title, and when you posted the results I thought it's over (genius move there)! Then when Lesnar blasted him from behind I was like: "Ah no! You a*****e!!! Ruined his moment!!!" Then it hit me what might be going on... But no... Christian's a 'Raw Guy'!!! He can't can he?!

 

Awesome!!

 

So many twists in that final match, and the write-up of the post-match stuff! Superb show buddy from what has to be my favourite diary on the boards right now!!!

 

This is a ton of high praise and interesting speculation, and I appreciate it all

I've been catching up on this over sometime and I have enjoyed all of the work you have put into this one.

 

With that said, what a he11 of a show Armageddon was. You managed to make the 1st ever (lol) MITB cash-in even more unpredictable than real-life having the holder jump ship to the other show's championship. Then the fact it's Christian beating his brother made it a fine choice. Looking forward to that feud and what you have in store for the dynasty moving forward.

 

Great work man, almost to a full year of shows as well. Congrats!

 

Comments on Previous Show: Been catching up on this from start till now over the past week. I absolutely love the mod but whatever you do blows what I can do with it out of the water. Fantastic Armageddon, never expected the cash in.

 

It's always great to hear from new readers. I hope I can keep you guys aboard through 2005, because I'm very excited for everyone to see where this is all headed. I'm absolutely sure I'm going to have a better 'Mania season than I did last time around, I just hope that everyone sticks around. The praise has been awesome, for sure.
