Last week, WCW Saturday Night saw the return of what many consider to be the most elite group in professional wrestling: </span></div></div></div></div></div></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><strong>The Four Horsemen</strong></span></div></div></div></div></div></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;">! We here at Promotion Wars have been told that this week's WCW Saturday Night will kick off with an interview with this elite group all in the ring. What will they have to say about the attack they put on </span></div></div></div></div></div></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><strong>Hulk Hogan</strong></span></div></div></div></div></div></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> last week?</span></div></div></div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span></div></div></div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;">

Speaking of </span></div></div></div></div></div></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><strong>Hulk Hogan</strong></span></div></div></div></div></div></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;">, rumors have abounded that he will not be in the building this week as he is recovering from injuries suffered at the hands of the Four Horsemen. These are only rumors, though, and could not yet be confirmed.</span></div></div></div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span></div></div></div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;">

We are also going to see the first, first round matches of the #1 contenders WCW World Tag Team Title Tournament! These two matches taking place on WCW Saturday Night pit </span></div></div></div></div></div></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><strong>Harlem Heat</strong></span></div></div></div></div></div></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> against </span></div></div></div></div></div></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><strong>Bob and Scott Armstrong</strong></span></div></div></div></div></div></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> and </span></div></div></div></div></div></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><strong>The Nasty Boys</strong></span></div></div></div></div></div></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> against </span></div></div></div></div></div></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><strong>The Rock 'n' Roll Express</strong></span></div></div></div></div></div></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;">. The winners of these two matches will face off in the second round at the Clash of the Champions. Could we see a continuation of the feud between Harlem Heat and the Rock 'n' Roll Express?</span></div></div></div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span></div></div></div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;">

Another rumor floating around is that WCW Commissioner </span></div></div></div></div></div></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><strong>Nick Bockwinkel</strong></span></div></div></div></div></div></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> has named someone new coming into the company the top contender to the WCW United States Title. From what we hear, this man is a veteran to the sport of professional wrestling and has participated in both the NWA and the WWF. Will he be revealed this week on Saturday Night?</span></div></div></div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span></div></div></div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;">

Comments On Last Show: As I said, loved the new Horsemen team. However it overshadowed what was a damn fine Sting/Steamboat match. Good booking with the draw, as it keeps both men looking hungry and strong. The Tag tournament should be fun - who doesn't love a good tourny now and again? Unless Williams and Gordy are in it though, I think the Heat will roll through it.</p>

Flair pauses by a sign that reads: 'I need earplugs for Ric Flair!' He yells off-microphone that the 'fat boy' could not even lace his wrestling boots. He slides out to the apron and waits for Armstrong to reach his feet, springboarding off the top rope -- Air Pillman connects! A fan raises a sign that reads: 'I'd bet money on Brian!' just as Pillman makes the cover: One, Two, Three!</p><p> <strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Brian Pillman p. The masked man is sent outside the ring where Sir William gets a few shots to the ribs before tossing The Patriot back in the ring. Regal goes for the Regal Stretch but The Patriot manages to reach the ropes before the hold can be fully applied. Regal argues with the referee, giving The Patriot some time to recover. He tries to crawl toward his corner but is crawling toward a neutral corner instead. Knobbs tags in Sags and Morton crawls between his legs, leaping to tag out to Robert Gibson. Gibson comes in with punches for both Nasty Boys! Gibson gets Sags in a corner and begins throwing punches. He gets to eight when Knobbs comes in from behind, yanking him off the turnbuckle. During the entrance, a sign is put up that reads: 'DDP STILL loves c8cks!' The Diamond Doll slaps the fan and security has to step in again this week. The match begins with a pier six brawl between all six men. Sting, Badd and Jannetty get the advantage early on, forcing Hot Stuff International outside the ring to regroup. The advantage is maintained by Sting, upping the pace with a dropkick to DDP and then a quick tag out to Marty Jannetty. Jannetty becomes the face-in-peril rather quickly, getting caught in the Hot Stuff corner when DDP uses the Diamond Doll as a distraction. Gilbert tags himself in and focuses on Jannetty, using a couple of restholds on the former Rocker as a fan raises up a sign reading: 'Who is Eddie?' When Gilbert sees the sign, he yells at the fan that his mother knows who I am. That I was with her last night. Jannetty does manage to make the tag late in the match to Johnny B. Badd. This results in another pier six brawl between both teams. Sting clotheslines DDP over the top rope and both men spill to the floor. Inside the ring, Badd is distracted by the Diamond Doll and DDP strikes him with the Diamond Cutter! Bam Bam Bigelow, the legal man, picks up Badd -- Greetings From Asbury Park! Badd is laid out! Bigelow makes the cover: One, Two, Three! Barry Windham looks to start the match with Flair but Flair points to Rhodes, saying he wants Rhodes in the ring. Windham looks to the crowd for a moment and then tags in the Natural. Flair smiles and meets Rhodes in the middle of the ring, slapping Rhodes across the face. Rhodes shoves Flair down to the mat and Flair backs into his corner, tagging out to Arn Anderson. Anderson enters the ring and locks up with Rhodes, pushing him back into a corner. Instead of a clean break, Anderson throws a few punches to the ribs of Rhodes. Rhodes throws some punches back to the head of Anderson! The two men exchange blows back and forth with Rhodes gaining the advantage. Rhodes catches Anderson with a bionic elbow! Anderson drags Rhodes over into the 4 Horsemen corner and the next few minutes are spent with quick tags in and out by the two best friends. Flair focuses on the knee of Rhodes when he is in the ring. He drags Rhodes into a corner and rams him knee-first into the ring post. Flair draws in some boos as he struts around the ring. He dares Barry Windham to come into the ring and Windham comes in but the referee stops him. As the referee is distracted, Anderson comes in and the two Horsemen strike Rhodes with a double shinbreaker. Anderson remains in the ring and brings Rhodes down with a backbreaker, trying to draw a submission with the backbreaker. Rhodes shakes his head. He refuses to give up! The crowd gets behind him, clapping and stomping their feet. Rhodes suddenly seems to get a second wind, raising up and hitting Anderson with a bionic elbow! A second one! A third one! Both Anderson and Rhodes land on the mat. Both men begin crawling toward their corners. Anderson is the first man to tag out but Rhodes tags in Windham! The California crowd explodes in cheers as Windham bounces off the ropes and then turns his eyes toward his partner, Rhodes. The two men lock eyes and then catch Flair with a double clothesline! Rhodes exits the ring and Windham picks up Flair, whipping him toward a corner -- Flair flips up and over the corner. He runs along the apron and then climbs the turnbuckle where he is met by Barry Windham! Windham body slams Flair off the turnbuckle but he is struck from behind by Arn Anderson. Rhodes goes for the Running Bulldog but Anderson has his ankle! Rhodes releases Flair, yelling at Anderson. Barry Windham comes into the ring but the referee grabs him and is putting him back out of the ring. Flair slides out and grabs the WCW World Television title belt! A great set of shows ad, the Horsemen are running wild and new challenges are set up for Sting with Hot Stuff International coming back! The debuts who come in are nice, Bigelow, Windham, and Piper look like they're stirring things up immediately and look primed to do a lot in a short amount of time.

There is more to come, especially in the #1 contender tournament. A lot of tag teams will be making their debut, as shown in the news article. Teams like The Eliminators, The Dudley Boys, Chris Benoit and Dean Malenko, etc. will be coming into the promotion, perhaps for more than just a quick run. </p><p> </p><p> The Horsemen, themselves, are my favorite stable of all-time. Though I can honestly say that they're in for a shock at Clash of the Champions with Hulk Hogan's mystery partner.</p>

<p>A quick question for my readers,</p><p> </p><p>

What are your thoughts on editing contracts of certain wrestlers on the competition to come due sooner than they are set in the game? Such as, say I wanted to sign the Steiner Brothers so I set their contracts to expire in 28 days so that I could sign them sooner than later. It technically wouldn't mean that I would get to sign them. Another promotion could outbid me in the signing process. But I wanted to get everyone's thoughts on this particular question.</p>

I imagine (and I mean no disrespect when I say this) that the majority of contract lengths when set out are or were 'guess-timates' other than in a few rare occassions when we know in history that a particular contract ran out (Honky Tonk Man in early '88), (Bret Hart in late '96), (Dusty Rhodes in Jan '91) etc - so I don't see it being a huge problem. The only 'moraly questionable' change would be to a worker who has been signed by the A.I. but that's not the case here.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> Oh! And I've just caught up with your diary... good reading - good to see the Horsemen coming back to life and a couple of truly inspired picks - the Miracle Violence Connection along with Flair & Arn would've been a truly awesome combination!</p>

The crowd rises to their feet with cheers and chants of 'Hogan, Hogan, Hogan!' The manager <strong>Jimmy Hart</strong> leads <strong>Hulk Hogan</strong> out from the back. Hogan cups his ear, listening to the fans cheering for our WCW World Heavyweight Champion! A fan raises a sign high in the air that reads: 'It better not be Brutus, Hulk...' Hogan high fives the crowd as he walks and then he steps into the ring, being handed a microphone by Jimmy Hart.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Hulk Hogan:</strong> <span style="color:#FF0000;"><span style="font-family:'CENTURY GOTHIC';">"Well, you know something, Hulkamaniacs? Last week, I was sitting at home resting from my injuries and I got to hear that former World Champion Ric Flair talk about this reincarnation of the Four Horsemen. Well, brothers, this is a group that I heard a lot about before I signed with WCW, dudes. But despite the beating that I took two weeks ago, I'm still standing. I'm still here in WCW. I'm still the World Heavyweight Champion, brothers! One beating by four men is not going to take the title away from me. Now, we are a little over a week away from my very first Clash of the Champions. I was told by our WCW Commissioner Nick Bockwinkel that I could choose anyone I wanted to be my tag team partner against Ric Flair and Arn Anderson. Well, the two of you are in for a big surprise when that partner shows up, brothers. I mean a HUGE surprise."</span></span></p><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><span>http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/WCW_94/SteveAustin.jpg</span></div><p></p><p></p><p> <strong>Steve Austin:</strong> <span style="color:#FF0000;"><span style="font-family:'CENTURY GOTHIC';">"Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, Hulk. I think we've all heard enough from you, brother."</span></span></p><p> </p><p> The crowd boos as <strong>Steve Austin</strong> comes walking from the back headed right for the ring. Stunning Steve climbs the stairs and enters the ring, looking across from Hulk Hogan. Hogan just smirks and shakes his head. He asks Austin just what he is doing here, interrupting the time for the World Champion.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Steve Austin:</strong> <span style="color:#FF0000;"><span style="font-family:'CENTURY GOTHIC';">"That's just it, Hulk. You are not DESERVING of being the WCW World Heavyweight Champion. A belt like the one you have around your waist should be reserved for someone like me. That belt should go around the waist of someone stunning. Everyone knows that I'm a better looking man than you are, Hulk. So why don't you just hand me the belt and save yourself a beating?"</span></span></p><p> </p><p> <strong>Hulk Hogan:</strong> <span style="color:#FF0000;"><span style="font-family:'CENTURY GOTHIC';">"Brother, I've had a million beatings over my career. What's one more to add to the list? The only problem is that tonight is a non title match. So even if you give me the so-called beating that you plan on giving me, you won't be walking away with my belt. But I can tell you that I and all of my Hulkamaniacs have other plans for tonight, brother. In fact, we plan to do something like this."</span></span></p><p> </p><p> Hogan throws the first punch, flooring Austin! Austin gets back up and Hogan clotheslines him over the top rope to the floor. Jimmy Hart hands Hogan the WCW World Heavyweight title belt and Hogan raises it up as Austin backs up the ramp, yelling that he'll be seeing Hogan later tonight! Hogan poses in the ring as we go to a commercial break.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Match 1: </strong><strong><span style="color:#0000FF;">WCW World Television Title Match</span></strong></p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="36672" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><div style="text-align:center;"><span>http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/WCW_94/wcwtv.jpg</span><p> <span>http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/WCW_94/ArnAnderson.jpg</span><span>http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/WCW_94/VS.jpg</span><span>http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/WCW_94/MarkStarr.jpg</span></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> <strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Arn Anderson defends vs. Mark Starr</span></strong></p><p> The opening contest of the night features the Enforcer defending his WCW World Television Title belt against Mark Starr in a match that most people definitely see as a mismatch. The veteran Anderson is dominant throughout this matchup. Anderson locks Starr in a hammerlock and then lifts him up, body slamming him to the mat. Anderson looks around, absorbing in some boos from the crowd before he runs his thumb across his throat. He picks up Starr and sends him to the ropes -- Spinebuster! He spies the camera and releases a howl toward the camera. But when he turns back, he comes face to face with <strong>Diamond Dallas Page</strong>. Sting drops the duffel bag and the two men immediately come to blows! Both men get in a few shots before the cavalry arrives for DDP. <strong>Eddie Gilbert</strong>, <strong>Bam Bam Bigelow</strong> and <strong>Harlem Heat</strong> all attack Sting from all sides, leaving the one man beaten down by a group of five. Gilbert chokes Sting with his boot on the man's neck as Sting is down on the concrete. DDP makes a motion and Bigelow pulls Sting to his feet -- Diamond Cutter! DDP hits Sting with the Diamond Cutter on the concrete! Sting is out of it! DDP smiles and tells Sting that he'll see him at the Clash where he will know what it's like to feel the bang!</p><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><span>http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/WCW_94/GeneOkerlund.jpg</span><p> <span>http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/WCW_94/RoddyPiper9.jpg</span></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> <strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;"><span style="color:#0000FF;">The United States Title</span></span></strong></p><p> Back in the arena, a sign is shown reading: 'Hot Stuff, baby!' Make sure you call but children get your parent's permission before calling. Okerlund introduces his guest at this time, none other than the Hot Rod Rowdy <strong>Roddy Piper</strong>! Piper gets a mixed reaction from the crowd, despite his assault of Ricky Steamboat last week on Saturday Night. Piper uses this opportunity to hype his upcoming match with Steamboat at the Clash of the Champions. He talks briefly about his history with the United States title and about his dog collar match with Greg Valentine back in the day. This match is dominated by the power of Vader, including him putting Armstrong in a corner and catching him with clobbering forearm shots that eventually put Armstrong on the mat. Harley Race calls the shots from outside the ring, telling Vader what to do. The camera focuses in on a sign reading: 'How to squash a jobber in 1 Minute!' Vader smiles sadistically and picks up Scott, tucking him between his legs again. Could he be going for another Power Bomb? Someone comes bursting from the back, running at a top speed. It's <strong>Bob Armstrong</strong>! Bullet Bob enters the ring and hits Vader with a clothesline! Vader is barely staggered. Bob hits another! And another! He grabs his son and gets him out of the ring but then he gets grabbed by the monster! Vader lifts Bob Armstrong high over his head in a press fashion and then tosses the Armstrong family over the top rope to the floor below! He sticks his nose up and shakes his head before he enters the ring. The match itself is a classic back and forth contest between these two teams. One of the x-factors of this contest is the team of Regal and William being willing to cheat in order to maintain an advantage, including using the ropes for leverage. The Patriot was a face-in-peril early on before he tagged in his partner. Marcus Bagwell strikes both Regal and William with dropkicks! Bagwell catches William with a swinging neckbreaker and then turns his attention to Regal. He catches Regal with a nasty looking kneelift and then hooks him -- Yellow Jacket Suplex! Marty Jannetty briefly gains an advantage inside the ring and then he heads to the top turnbuckle as a fan holds up a sign reading: 'Rock rock, never stop!' The Eliminators don't get a lot of fan response because they are unknown but that doesn't stop this from being an excellent tag team match. The match includes John Kronus hitting Barry Windham with a somersault elbow in the corner, showing his athletic ability. The Eliminators work together as a strong unit and nearly pull off what could only be declared as an upset. However, Dustin Rhodes and Barry Windham also have tag team experience and that wins out over the Eliminators. The match ends up in a four way brawl toward the end. Rhodes gets Kronus up in a corner and begins punching away, as Windham does the same to Perry Saturn. Rhodes drops down after ten and then hooks a headlock on Kronus -- Running Bulldog! The match has some great action that goes back and forth both inside the ring and outside the ring when Jack hits a Cactus Clothesline that spills both Flair and Jack to the outside. Cactus Jack looks to go for the Cactus Elbow on Flair but Arn Anderson steps in the way before Jack can leap. Anderson helps Flair up and the action returns to the ring as a fan holds up a sign reading: 'I'd bet my money on Ric Flair!' The two men exchange advantages with Flair focusing in on the knee of Cactus Jack in typical Flair fashion. Flair goes in for the kill around the ten minute mark, going for the Figure 4 Leglock but Jack reverses it into a small package: One, Two, Kickout! Jack gets a second wind and sends Flair flipping up and over the turnbuckles. Flair dashes along the apron but gets caught on the top turnbuckle and body slammed to the mat. Flair begs off and Jack moves in but Flair uses a thumb to the eye. Flair chop blocks out the knee of Cactus Jack and then bounces off the ropes -- diving knee drop! Flair makes the cover: One, Two, Arn Anderson grabs the legs of Cactus Jack, keeping him kicking out, Three! A big win for the Nature Boy, albeit a cheating win. Steve Austin makes his entrance first, pausing by a sign that reads: 'Austinmania is runnin' wild!' Austin gives a fake Hulk Hogan pose and then continues to the ring. 'American Made' draws fans to their feet with cheers as the WCW World Heavyweight Champion comes out to the ring flanked by his manager Jimmy Hart. Hogan cups his ear, listening to the fans respond as he walks down to the ring. He climbs the stairs and enters the ring, cupping his ear again. He takes off his belt and hands it to Jimmy Hart since this match is non title. As soon as Jimmy Hart has the belt, Steve Austin charges over and attacks Hogan from behind, pushing him back in a corner and using rights and lefts on the champ.</p><p> </p><p> Steve Austin holds the early advantage on Hulk Hogan due to the assault before the bell. The bell rings as Austin has Hogan in a corner. Austin uses his feet to kick Hogan, stomping on the man who runs Hulkamania. Austin pulls Hogan from the corner and then whips him to the ropes -- reversed! Austin comes springing back and gets taken over with a back body drop! Stunning Steve looks surprised and runs right into a clothesline! A second one! Austin drops down and quickly exits the ring to regroup and think this thing over. Hogan poses and cups his ear to a huge ovation from the crowd as Austin paces at ringside. A sign held up behind Austin reads: 'Hogan vs Steve Austin for Starrcade, BOOK IT!' Hogan breaks the count by walking over and he gets tripped up by Austin! Austin yanks Hogan out of the ring and runs him face-first into the ring post. Hogan bounces off the post and then is sent back in the ring. Austin spends some time working over the Immortal one inside the ring, showing his ring knowledge and technical skill against the power-based Hulk Hogan. Austin goes for several submissions but cannot get Hogan to say 'I Quit.' Austin climbs to the second turnbuckle and drops a pointed elbow drop onto Hogan. He makes the cover:</p><p> </p><p> One....</p><p> </p><p> ....</p><p> </p><p> ....</p><p> </p><p> ....</p><p> </p><p> Two....</p><p> </p><p> ....</p><p> </p><p> ....</p><p> </p><p> Shoulder Up!</p><p> </p><p> Hogan survives that move but cannot get the second wind that he is noted for as Austin continues the assault. Austin stomps Hogan again and again on the mat. He mocks Hogan by cupping his ear and listening to the boos from this Nashville crowd. Austin picks up Hogan and whips him to the ropes -- reversed! The crowd cheers the reversal but it only sets up the Lou Thesz Press by Austin! Instead of turning it into a pin, though, Austin throws punches that land on the skull of Hulk Hogan! The referee tries to step in and break things up but Austin just shakes his head and throws more punches. The crowd boos even louder as the ringside area begins to fill up. Ric Flair, Arn Anderson, Steve Williams and Terry Gordy each make their way to ringside. Anderson takes down Jimmy Hart with a single punch, causing more boos from the crowd. Back in the ring, Austin sends Hogan into a turnbuckle and charges in -- boot from Hogan! Austin ran right into the Hogan boot! Hogan sends Austin into the corner and throws rights and lefts, getting a firm second wind here. Hogan winds up a punch and it sends Austin to the mat! Hogan whips Austin to the far corner and then charges him -- Austin moves, pulling the referee into the way of Hogan's clothesline in the corner! Referee Tommy Young is taken down to the mat! The match continues, though, as Hogan sends Austin to the ropes -- double clothesline! Both men go down! The crowd cheers, clapping their hands and stomping their feet to give Hogan the energy that he needs. Arn Anderson looks down at the WCW World Heavyweight title belt that Jimmy Hart dropped when he was knocked out. Anderson picks up the belt and slides it in the ring beside Austin. Austin and Hogan are both slowly getting to their feet. Austin sees the belt and picks it up. He turns to look at Hogan. Hogan staggers toward him -- WHAM! The belt shot connects on Hogan! Austin slides the belt out of the ring as Ric Flair revives the referee. Austin makes the cover:</p><p> </p><p> One....</p><p> </p><p> ....</p><p> </p><p> ....</p><p> </p><p> ....</p><p> </p><p> Two....</p><p> </p><p> ....</p><p> </p><p> ....</p><p> </p><p> ....</p><p> </p><p> <strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">KICKOUT!</span></strong></p><p> </p><p> Hulk Hogan kicks out with authority! He begins to shake and Bobby Heenan on commentary knows exactly what this means. Steve Austin cannot believe it! Austin moves over to Hogan and begins throwing punches that don't even seem to phase Hogan. Hogan rises to one knee and then to his feet. He shakes his arms, getting the 'Hogan' chants, getting the fans clapping and stomping their feet. Hogan turns and points toward Austin, waggling his finger. He blocks an Austin punch and counters with one of his own! Another! Another! Another! He whips Austin to the ropes -- Big Boot! Hogan cups his ear, getting the loud response from the crowd. He bounces off the ropes -- Big Legdrop! Hogan moves in for the cover but referee Tommy Young is yanked from the ring by Ric Flair! The Four Horsemen enter from all sides of the ring as the bell sounds immediately.</p><p> <strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Hulk Hogan d. At first he is able to fight them off with punches and clotheslines but the numbers game once again proves to be too much for him to handle. The Four Horsemen are on the assault with Hogan. Anderson, Williams and Gordy hold Hogan's arms and Flair slaps the taste out of his mouth. Flair releases a 'Whoooooo' right in Hogan's face before dropping him with a low blow kick. Flair motions to Steve Williams and Williams lifts Hogan up on his shoulder -- Oklahoma Stampede! Flair moves in quickly and locks in the Figure 4 Leglock! Flair grabs the ropes and then the hands of Arn Anderson for extra leverage. As Flair has the Figure 4 Leglock on tight, Williams and Gordy take the time to kick and stomp on Hogan. Will Hulk Hogan even make it to next week to defend the WCW World Heavyweight title against Steve Williams? The Figure 4 is broken after minutes of the hold being on and the Four Horsemen stand above Hogan, all raising four fingers. Williams picks up the WCW World Heavyweight title belt and raises it up high. This could be the sight we see in one week's time. We'll see you tomorrow for the Main Event!</p>
