Fantasy draft?

Recommended Posts

Would anybody (maybe up to 5 people?) be interested in doing a multiplayer game that starts with a fantasy draft? The way I see it, we agree on an era or using the default game, do a email draft, then start the game.

We can use a fantasy football site I know to generate the draft order. I think a draft of 40 wrestlers/managers/ announcers and others will do. Also maybe we could draft the companies. instead of picking a wrestler with a pick, someone could pick a company if they wanted a big company to start with.

Any interest in this?

I would like to use real people, but that's not a deal breaker for me. Just finding people who would like this idea and will stick with it.

Hopefully we can find 3 more people who want to join.

Would this be a diary or just a multiplayer game?

If it's just a multiplayer game i'm in <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

(although would be real world only for me as I know nothing about cornellverse)

It seems that Me, Batman, Physco Sam, kieranforthewin, SCO xY2JX and IWWRocks are all in for a real world game.

If you guys could pm me your email address, I'll do the draft order. Or if you trust me not to screw with it, I'll just post it here.

I think the rules should be something like this:

40 man rosters (that includes managers, wrestles, announcers, refs, road agents and any personalities you may want.)

Every person must draft one company. When you draft that company is up to you, but you must have one company.

There should be a period after the draft for trades. I say as soon as the draft ends, we give a 24 hour window to work out deals.

Contracts will not be altered.

Tag teams will not be drafted together. Just because you drafted one guy does not guarantee you will get his partner. This is why there is a trading window right after the draft. But nobody is going to be forced to trade.

I can't think of anything else. Does anybody have any ideas?

Its the very start of the Monday night wars. Anybody have a problem using that one?

Another thing. If we're to select companies as part of the draft, then all contracts from the draft should be able to be 'written' as obviously the trading etc. could be pointless when someone who chooses 'WCW' can then just poach someones 'ECW' stars since the can only be on PPA?

Thoughts on this?

I think the contract would just carry over.

If ECW selects hulk hogan, then its a written deal.

If the WWF selects rvd, then its a pay per appearance deal. It would be up to that owner to get their talent under written deals.

But I'll go with whatever the group thinks.

If you have a smaller company and feel you can't pay someone's contract, trade them. I'm sure somebody would love to take Hogan off you.
