Especially happy to see the World title change hands.</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> That's what I'm aiming for in this diary: have it fit the time period while putting my own spin on it at the same time(as far as the booking goes, anyway). Thus why I had New Kids on the Block butchering, I mean singing "America the Beautiful," as they were one of the hottest "music" acts at the time. I wouldn't have put it past Vince McMahon to put something like that together. Now I didn't actually have them in the data. I just made use of the in-game mechanic that lets you pay the expense of having a music act perform at the show. And keeping with the time period is why I'm not having Chris Jericho do his Y2J shtick yet. That would just seem out of place given that we're a good nine years away from the Y2K scare in this diary.</p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="Russelrules44" data-cite="Russelrules44" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="36794" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>Randy Savage..............................You can just go f**k yourself.</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> You know your heels are getting great heat when your diary readers are pissed. <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="RatedRKO16" data-cite="RatedRKO16" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="36794" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>That is one way to push Regal. I'm limiting his matches at the moment until I get him some more overness.</p>

WrestleMania VII is in the books, and it looks like it's clear the direction the World Wrestling Federation is going in. "Macho King" Randy Savage won the WWF World Heavyweight Championship from the Ultimate Warrior through nefarious means by his new apparent ally, William Regal. According to various sources, McMahon is really high on Regal and has paired him up with Randy Savage to help get him over. As for the Ultimate Warrior, it's being said that him not having the title is Vince's way of testing him to see if he will be reliable for another title reign in the future.</span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:14px;"><span style="font-family:'Lucinda Sans Unicode';"> </span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:14px;"><span style="font-family:'Lucinda Sans Unicode';">

Some people were surprised that Vince went ahead and put the WWF World Tag Team Titles on the Rockers given Shawn Michaels positive drug test, but apparently Vince feels that Shawn can get himself clean and will turn out to be a good hand. There's also the factor that his drug habit didn't hinder his matches, so it looks like Vince is going to go with the Rockers to head the tag team division unless they royally screw things up.</span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:14px;"><span style="font-family:'Lucinda Sans Unicode';"> </span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:14px;"><span style="font-family:'Lucinda Sans Unicode';">

Road Warrior Hawk of the Legion of Doom reportedly showed up very late to WrestleMania, arriving during the Pay Per View Pre-Show(where the WWF shows video highlights of how matches came together). Given that this was WrestleMania, and given that Hawk and Animal are tapped to possibly be major players in the WWF's tag team division, Vince chose not to go with his usual fatherly approach, and instead gave him a very stern warning, letting Hawk know that his tardiness is unacceptable. It's been said that Hawk apologized and will show up on time from here on out.</span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:14px;"><span style="font-family:'Lucinda Sans Unicode';"> </span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:14px;"><span style="font-family:'Lucinda Sans Unicode';">

Paul Diamond, the man behind the mask of Kato in the Orient Express, was apparently furious over having to put the Malenkos over, feeling that he was more over. The match was apparently originally slated to go for about 7-9 minutes, but Vince decided to cut it down to 2 minutes and hardly give the Orient Express any offense given not only Diamond's attitude, but Pat Tanaka's attitude as well as he didn't want to put the Malenkos over either. However, Tanaka cooled off when he found out he wasn't taking the fall. Diamond, however, is still in a bad mood. It'll be interesting to see how he acts at future shows. Ironically enough, before being informed that he was putting the Malenkos over, Paul Diamond lifted locker room morale by bringing in free alcohol. It's possible he may have partaken, thus his surly attitude about losing.</span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:14px;"><span style="font-family:'Lucinda Sans Unicode';"> </span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:14px;"><span style="font-family:'Lucinda Sans Unicode';">

After the show, the Ultimate Warrior and Hulk Hogan were both praised by Vince McMahon for their performances, and they were reportedly pleased with his post-show speech. McMahon then reportedly gave Randy Savage a hug, which reportedly pleased Savage as he felt appreciated for his efforts in getting a great match out of the Ultimate Warrior.</span></span></p></div><p></p><p></p>

<p>Great WrestleMania man!</p><p> </p><p>

In one fell swoop, you've done more with the William Regal character than WWE ever had. <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p>

You won't have to carry the load of announcing Monday Night Raw by yourself because I am now a full time broadcast journalist. As for my clients, I already talked to them, and they understand the circumstances. They also feel that they are more than capable of handling themselves, and if they do want management, they know who they can reach out to. Now, at this time, I want to bring out a man who I was very good friends with at one time, until certain people drove a wedge in between us. After last night, we realized that we, along with our clients, took things too far. Please welcome Jimmy Hart!</strong></p><p> </p><p> Jimmy Hart came out, but he was not alone, joined by Earthquake and the Mountie. They got in the ring and took turns patting Heenan on the back, telling him to get well soon. Jimmy Hart then said that Heenan was right, that no good manipulators like Gorilla Monsoon and Vince McMahon tried driving a wedge between the Heenan Family and Jimmy Hart and his clients, and it almost worked. Hart came to realize that Heenan only called him a runt because of all the stress he was under of having to deal with that bully, the Big Boss Man. The Mountie then declared that he was the only law and order in the WWF, and that the Boss Man was nothing more than an impostor of law and order due to his recent actions. Earthquake then got on the mic and told Sid Justice that he and his friends got lucky last night at WrestleMania, and told him that he couldn't beat the Walking Natural Disaster on his own. That prompted the Big Boss Man and Sid Justice to come out, and they were not too happy about what Earthquake and Mountie had to say, daring them to fight them anytime, anywhere. It looked like a huge brawl was about to erupt, so Heenan got out of the ring as fast as he could, forgetting that he was "hurt," then realizing he was supposed to act like he was hurt. Security came out with President Jack Tunney, and they kept everyone separated. Tunney then said that he was making a tag team match for next week: Earthquake and the Mountie vs. The Big Boss Man and Sid Justice.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Grade: B-</strong></p><p> </p><p> <strong><em><span style="font-size:14px;">=COMMERCIAL=</span></em></strong></p><p> </p><p> -Vader def. Rude talks about how he's glad to have a second chance as Intercontinental Champion, and this time he's going to take on all comers and be a fighting champion, and not the cowardly champion he was two years ago when he only defended the title every 30 days. Rick "The Model" Martel then came out to interrupt the interview, and he said that despite his loss last night, he felt that he should be in line for a title shot, given how well he had done before last night, and that the only reason he lost was because of the blindfold. Rude said he would be more than happy to give Martel a title shot, and that he would get it after he defended it against Mr. Perfect in his obligatory rematch.</p><p> <strong>Grade: B</strong></p><p> </p><p> <strong><em><span style="font-size:14px;">=COMMERCIAL=</span></em></strong></p><p> </p><p> -The Malenko Brothers defeated Iron Mike Sharpe and Rudy Boy Gonzalez when Dean Malenko made Rudy Boy Gonzalez submit with a Texas Cloverleaf.</p><p> <strong>Grade: D</strong></p><p> </p><p> -The Malenkos are celebrating, and the Bushwhackers run out and attack them! Gorilla Monsoon can't believe what he's seeing and shouts for someone to come out here and stop this assault. Bobby Heenan, however, loves it and says it's about time the Bushwhackers stopped acting goofy and started being the mean and brutal men he once knew them to be when they "used to herd sheep" in New Zealand. They say it's like a dream, after all the setbacks they have endured, and now they have climbed the mountain. The shot then switches over to Alfred's interview with the Hart Foundation later on. Alfred tried to get Bret Hart and Jim Neidhart upset, but they said that the better team won. They also stated that they had noticed that they had not been functioning as well as they used to as a team, and had been discussing going into singles competition for some time. They both said that now is as good a time as any.</p><p> <strong>Grade: B-</strong></p><p> </p><p> <strong><em><span style="font-size:14px;">=COMMERCIAL=</span></em></strong></p><p> </p><p> -Up next was a match that Gorilla Monsoon stated was a #1 Contender's Match to determine who would get the first crack at the Rockers come the next PPV, WWF Crunch Classic. Slick had joined Gorilla and the Brain on commentary and was upset that his team, Power & Glory, were not in this match, pitting the Nasty Boys against the Miracle Violence Connection. The Nasty Boys def. the Miracle Violence Connection when Jerry Sags pinned "Dr. Death" Steve Williams, thanks in part to Hercules coming in from the crowd and blasting Dr. Death with his chain while Terry Gordy and the ref were preoccupied with Paul Roma.</p><p> <strong>Grade: B-</strong></p><p> </p><p> -Sean Mooney is backstage and interviews Mr. Perfect, who is dressed up in a nice suit. "Macho King" Randy Savage declared that William Regal was a worthy man to be part of the Kingdom of the Madness. He proceeded to knight William Regal, and declared from here on out, he would be known as "Sir William Regal." Sgt. Slaughter came out to congratulate the Macho King, then declared that he wanted a title shot. Macho King said he'd be more than happy to give him one. Miss Elizabeth interrupted the proceedings and went on to vent her feelings about what Queen Sherri had turned Randy into. She said that she thought there was a chance that Randy would come to his senses, but after last night, she knew that wasn't going to happen. She then brought out the one man she knew, and that Randy knew, that he could not beat: Hulk Hogan! The crowd came unglued as the Hulkster made his way to the ring, then got on the mic. He said that he never received a rematch from losing the title last year at WrestleMania VI, stating he was busy with other matters and wasn't ready to focus his sights on regaining the strap until now. The Ultimate Warrior then came out and declared that HE should be getting a rematch for the title since he just lost it last night. Before you knew it, a brawl broke out involving all four men. After Hawk turned up late at WrestleMania, the Ultimate Warrior apparently decided it would be OK for him to turn up late the next night for the the Prime Time and Raw tapings. Given Warrior's status as a main eventer, as well as one of the focal points of WWF programming and his strong fan base, Vince McMahon reportedly gave the Warrior a very stern warning about turning up late. And supposedly, according to an anonymous source backstage, the Warrior blew McMahon off and told him "Whatever." It'll be interesting to see what happens if the Ultimate Warrior continues to act up.</span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:14px;"><span style="font-family:'Lucinda Sans Unicode';"> </span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:14px;"><span style="font-family:'Lucinda Sans Unicode';">

While he was late, at least the Ultimate Warrior showed up for WWF TV last night. Independent wrestler Rob Van Dam, however, did not show up whatsoever for a recent SSW(Southern States Wrestling) event. However, unlike the Warrior incident, Rob Van Dam apparently did everything in his power to try and make it, but transportation issues such as his flight being cancelled and being unable to book another flight prevented him from making the show.</span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:14px;"><span style="font-family:'Lucinda Sans Unicode';"> </span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:14px;"><span style="font-family:'Lucinda Sans Unicode';">

There seems to be trouble brewing backstage in Smokey Mountain Wrestling as Phil Lafon appeared on a local Kentucky television show to promote an upcoming SMW event, and instead decided to go off about Ivan Koloff. The TV hosts thought Lafon was doing the interview in character at first, but then things took a turn for the worst when they had to cut to a commercial super early as Lafon went on a tirade about Koloff apparently undercutting him to the powers that be backstage. Koloff has since responded and stated that Jim Cornette simply asked Koloff his honest opinion about Lafon, and told Cornette that Lafon was great in the ring, but didn't have much charisma for American wrestling audiences.</span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:14px;"><span style="font-family:'Lucinda Sans Unicode';"> </span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:14px;"><span style="font-family:'Lucinda Sans Unicode';">

In other WWF news, Tugboat and Andre the Giant were sent on vacations recently. Tugboat was given the night off from this past week's Prime Time and Monday Night Raw tapings and is expected to be back in time for this weekend's house shows. Andre the Giant, meanwhile, will have this coming Monday night off as well. Tugboat was given time off to help further put Vader over, and Andre was given time off to sell his loss to the Undertaker, as well as to give him some much needed rest. There are rumors that when Andre returns, he may do so in a non-wrestling role due to his nagging injuries and physical condition. What that role is has yet to be decided. For what it's worth, Andre has yet to declare his in-ring retirement. I'm Harley Hughes, and this has been Pro Wrestling News.</span></span></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

For those wondering why the news bit was changed from Wrestling Observer, I wanted it to be a bit more realistic. I didn't want to paint myself in a corner as I honestly don't remember how often those newsletters were sent out, whereas the old Select Talk Pro Wrestling News hotline(which was a free service provided by local phone providers back in the early 90s... wonder how many people remember it) was updated frequently. So I'm going that route. I think the original Pro Wrestling News guy was Harley Hughes, but I could be wrong about the first name. I do remember his last name being Hughes though, because he used it to tag his reports at the end, along with "and that's Pro Wrestling News!"

I love what you're doing with Regal. I could see him getting a huge rub from his association with Savage, similar to the one Undertaker has gotten in my game from hanging around DiBiase for the last year.</p>

Tunney announced that a new title was being brought into the WWF: the WWF Television Championship. </p><p> </p><p> <span>http://i.imgur.com/wBcAKsI.jpg</span></p><p> </p><p> Tunney mentioned that while the other three WWF titles were occasionally defended on television, the WWF Television Title would be defended often on WWF TV, be it Monday Night Raw or Prime Time Wrestling. The title, of course, would also be defended on PPVs like the other WWF titles as well. He announced that there was a six man tournament, and the three matches would take place tonight, with the three winners facing off at Crunch Classic in the WWF's first ever Triple Threat Match, where the winner will be the first wrestler to score a pinfall or submission and become the first ever WWF Television Champion. The tournament matches would be: Razor Ramon vs. Owen Hart, Kevin Von Erich vs. Terry Taylor, and Tito Santana vs. Haku. Jack Tunney then announced that the situation revolving around the WWF World Heavyweight Championship was most unique. He mentioned that even though he lost at WrestleMania, Sgt. Slaughter proved that he was a worthy contender. However, the Ultimate Warrior was entitled to a rematch after losing the title. But so too was Hulk Hogan when he lost the title the year before at WrestleMania VI, oddly enough to the Ultimate Warrior. Therefore, at Crunch Classic, since the four corners elimination tag match was such a hit at Canadian Stampede, he would bring that match back, but in singles form, and this time, all four men in the ring at once for what will be known as the WWF's first ever Final Four Match: "Macho King" Randy Savage defending against Sgt. Jack Tunney then got on the mic and told the four of them that there would be a tag team rematch from Canadian Stampede tonight, pitting "Macho King" Randy Savage and Sgt. They proceeded to talk trash about how they beat Rowdy Roddy Piper and "Texas Tornado" Kerry Von Erich last week, and couldn't accept the fact that they got beat, so they went crying to Jack Tunney and lied about them cheating to win and got a rematch for Crunch Classic. That prompted the Hot Rod and the Tornado to come out and respond, as they told DiBiase and Jericho that everyone watching at home saw DiBiase pull the Tornado's trunks. This time, however, the rules wouldn't matter because the rematch at Crunch Classic was going to be a match that Piper said was made just for guys like himself, and especially for guys like the Tornado: a Texas Tornado Match, where all four men would be in the ring at once, there would be no count outs or disqualifications, and first fall to a finish. WCW's booking seems to be a huge mess as of late. Scott Armstrong and El Cubano, who have never teamed before and were virtually enhancement talent for the company, recently upended Doom at the first ever WCW Uncensored back in March. That's right: Scott Armstrong and El Cubano are your WCW Tag Team Champions. And speaking of tag teams, even though the Steiner Brothers still team up, they are involved in separate storylines, and one of them has Rick Steiner teaming with Sting to go up against the One Man Gang and Stan Hansen, while Scott Steiner is going up against Arn Anderson. And Brian Pillman was recently turned heel, yet his tag team with "The Z-Man" Tom Zenk is still active, despite having faced each other. The reason for all this nonsense booking? Jim Herd. It's no secret that the boys are not a fan of his. In fact, according to inside sources, none other than Ric Flair downright hates the man! Could make things interesting when Flair's contract comes up.</span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:14px;"><span style="font-family:'Lucinda Sans Unicode';"> </span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:14px;"><span style="font-family:'Lucinda Sans Unicode';">

Smoky Mountain Wrestling has signed Samu, who often teams with Fatu of the Samoan Swat Team, and is a famed member of the Anoa'i family. No word yet on if Jim Cornette is going to bring in Fatu as well, though it wouldn't be shocking given that Samu and Fatu teamed up in WCW back in 1989 when it's product was more similar to what SMW is.</span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:14px;"><span style="font-family:'Lucinda Sans Unicode';"> </span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:14px;"><span style="font-family:'Lucinda Sans Unicode';">

After a recent dark match to see if they still had the chemistry to be a good tag team, the Warlord and Barbarian have reunited officially as the Powers of Pain, and as seen this past Monday night on Raw, Mr. Fuji is once again their manager. Vince McMahon is expected to conduct an interview with Mr. Fuji this Monday night on Raw for Fuji to explain how the Powers of Pain came back together. As for the Orient Express, who Fuji was managing, with their recent de-push thanks in part to their complaining at WrestleMania about putting over the Malenkos, they have also lost Fuji as their manager. Don't expect to see the Orient Express in storylines anytime soon. In other WWF news, Vince McMahon has reportedly decided that all PPVs, save for WrestleMania, will be around three hours, with WrestleMania being around four since it is the biggest show of the year for the Federation. However, the WWF will put more emphasis on the big four: the Royal Rumble, WrestleMania, SummerSlam and Survivor Series. With the King Of The Ring now on the PPV schedule, the WWF is reportedly going to give it the same treatment as the other big four PPVs, making it part of what many experts are now calling the Fab Five.
