Vince and his family are having fun exchanging and opening gifts when the phone rings.

Vince McMahon: Hello?... Hey, Merry Christmas to you too!...

The person on the other side of the phone was Vince's right hand man, Pat Patterson.

Vince McMahon:Bad news?... WHAT?!... I thought Dusty and Dustin were going to stick around to finish their program with Ted DiBiase at the Royal Rumble!... Ugh... I guess Dustin really didn't like the character idea I had drawn up for him. Though something tells me that his daddy could be giving him bad advice. Good thing I turned Virgil babyface already... I don't know what I'm going to do about the main event scene. Hulk Hogan isn't getting any younger and is getting a bit more selfish; Sgt. Slaughter, while getting good heat, is no spring chicken; and the Ultimate Warrior is the ultimate headcase. I guess I could put the title on Randy if Warrior starts up anymore trouble... Yeah, there is some great young talent on our roster now. Maybe I should think about opening up a development territory. If Major League Baseball and NHL hockey teams can have minor leagues to develop their talent, why not us?... Alright, talk to you soon.

With that, Vince hung up the phone. He had a very busy day after Christmas mapped out.

<p></p><div style="text-align:center;"><p>Vince McMahon wasted no time the day after Christmas to get his plans in order going forward. He decided to work on an outline:</p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="36794" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><strong>Monthly Pay-Per-Views</strong><p> The WWF has been the forerunner in Pay-Per-View entertainment. While others hopped on the bandwagon soon after, it's been the WWF that has been front and center in the Pay-Per-View genre. So why not have monthly Pay-Per-Views? Maximize those profits, but set the Big Four, soon to be Big Five, apart. The Royal Rumble, WrestleMania, SummerSlam and Survivor Series would all be three hours, while the rest would be two and a half hours. King of the Ring, originally a tournament held at a select house show, will now be on Pay-Per-View and also be three hours to make it part of the Big Five. This may mean the end of Saturday Night's Main Event, but from talking to NBC, they haven't been too thrilled with the recent decline in ratings and were ready to cut bait in that regard.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Build the Future</strong></p><p> The likes of Hulk Hogan, the Ultimate Warrior, Randy Savage, Jake "The Snake" Roberts, Rowdy Roddy Piper and Sgt. Slaughter are still putting asses in seats, but they are either in the category of not getting any younger, being headaches backstage, or maybe both. There are young stars that are ready to break through into superstardom, such as Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels and the Undertaker. And there seem to be a good number of young prospects not under our employ yet. I have thought about starting a development promotion, but looking at the costs, and factoring in how eager younger stars are to start working on the main roster, I believe I'll bypass having a development promotion for now and just let any new signees develop via dark matches and doing the occasional TV job.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>TV Shakeup</strong></p><p> Time to shake things up as far as our television goes. I'll be putting in the call to our numerous TV affiliates that Superstars of Wrestling will no longer air, and we will instead focus all our energy towards Wrestling Challenge being our B Show, and Prime Time Wrestling being our 'A' Show for now. Speaking of which, while Monday nights have been solid for Prime Time Wrestling, there's a new concept I want to try for Monday nights when I can negotiate for a new TV show. That said, I'll be moving Prime Time Wrestling to Friday nights. We will tape the matches to be shown on Prime Time, as well as Wrestling Challenge, on Wednesday nights.</p></div></blockquote></div><p></p><p></p>

The first post has been updated with title histories. For this game, I have set all potentials to Random just to see what kind of game world we'll get. I set a few hard age declines, but only for a select few workers. I want to thank justtxyank for making one of the most fun mods I've ever played, and hopefully this updated version that I'll be doing my diary on will be even more fun. And thanks in advance to anyone that takes the time to read this. I hope I do this time period justice. My goal is to try to play well into the 2000s, maybe get into current day to see how everything pans out. Lastly, would anyone have a problem with me playing with the Sophie cheat? I figured playing as Vince, that might not be too far out of the realm of reality. If I do use any codes, that would be the only one.

<span style="font-size:14px;"><span style="font-family:'Lucinda Sans Unicode';">There have been some shakeups within the WWF in recent days. As first reported here in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dusty Rhodes and his son, Dustin, had been working on a handshake agreement with the WWF after their initial contracts expired. WWF owner and CEO Vince McMahon was working on drafting new contracts for them, and apparently wanted to repackage Dustin as Goldust, a character who has an obsession with movies and gives off homoerotic undertones. It's rumored that Dustin didn't like the gimmick, and his father apparently hated it even moreso and took the first chance they had to sign with WCW.</span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:14px;"><span style="font-family:'Lucinda Sans Unicode';"> </span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:14px;"><span style="font-family:'Lucinda Sans Unicode';">

We have also heard rumors going around that Vince McMahon has put his roster on notice, looking to trim any fat he deems either unnecessary or bringing the backstage atmosphere down. One has to wonder how much longer the Ultimate Warrior's WWF Title reign will last. He has been in the midst of a feud with "Macho King" Randy Savage, but has also been rumored to be a headache backstage. </span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:14px;"><span style="font-family:'Lucinda Sans Unicode';"> </span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:14px;"><span style="font-family:'Lucinda Sans Unicode';">

Other shakeups include the USA Network agreeing to a new deal with the WWF that sees Prime Time Wrestling moved to Friday nights. The WWF has also dropped Superstars Of Wrestling and instead will focus on Wrestling Challenge as its B Show, while Prime Time will be the A Show. Matches for both shows are scheduled to be pre-taped on Wednesday nights.</span></span></p></div><p></p><p></p>

As you can probably gather, I am a big fan of the style Final Countdown has been using for his WWF Golden Age diary, which is now the style Ritchardo is using for his JCP/NWA Golden Age diary. So I'm using that style, or at least close to it, for this diary.

I hope to post the results of the first show in the next day or so. For predictions, I'm going to leave that to the PPVs like Countdown and Ritchardo do. Now to work on posting a newsbit of some of the moves I made.

Wrestling Observer Newsletter

It's a not so happy New Year for some who had been working for the WWF. Today, we received word that the WWF released the following talents:

-Road Agent Chief Jay Strongbow

-Referee Dan Marsh(aka Danny Davis, not to be confused with the USWA wrestler)

-Wrestler Nikolai Volkoff

-Manager and Occasional Wrestler Adnan-Al Kaissie(Gen. Adnan)

-Wrestler Koko B. Ware

-Wrestler Duane Gill

-Wrestler Barry Hardy

-Wrestler Tony Atlas(Saba Simba)

It should be noted that all of the above workers were under Pay-Per-Appearance deals with the WWF, so Vince McMahon most likely felt it was easier to to cut bait with them. There are also rumors that the WWF is looking to bring in some talent currently with WCW, but that has yet to be confirmed or denied.

Part of the reason I wanted to use the Sophie code because in the other 1991 game I have going on, I managed to go about a year and half with him only having about two or three incidents. However toward the end, they were starting to become more frequent so I had to eventually fire him. One of the funnier ones was him attacking Sean Mooney. Guess he didn't like those Coliseum Video skits. <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p>
