Just so no one frets and thinks I've abandoned this diary, I haven't. Just been busy the past few days, most notably looking for a second job to make some extra money. I've played through my Wrestling Challenge TV taping, now I just need to book Prime Time Wrestling, run it, then work on the next diary entry.

Meanwhile, Luke was fighting off both Ax and Smash outside the ring. The Orient Express came in through the crowd and attacked Luke, with Demolition getting back in the ring. Butch saw what was happening and tried to run over, but the ref kept holding him back, yelling at him to get back to his corner while Crush walked to the back. We hear comments from Hogan and Tugboat, who tell each other that they have the utmost respect for each other, but won't mind coming to blows if it's down to them. We hear from Earthquake, Dino Bravo and their manager, Jimmy Hart, who talk about how Hulkamania will die in Miami, and how Tugboat's career will sink faster than the Titanic. Earthquake and Bravo also share a respectful “may the best man win” attitude, knowing what's at stake. We then hear from Rowdy Roddy Piper, who talks about how he can't wait to get back into the ring, how he's training hard as he hasn't had a match since WrestleMania VI last year. This year, he says, he's finally going to win that WWF Title that keeps alluding him.

Grade: B

"The Rocket" Owen Hart vs. The Genius

http://i.imgur.com/biSgMiM.jpg vs. http://i.imgur.com/KGFsPls.jpg

It was now time for “The Rocket” Owen Hart to make his debut against the Genius, who had more than a few tricks up his sleeve. The match went back and forth, and the Geninus tried to win the match with a backslide and putting his feet on the ropes. But the ref caught him, stopped his count and kicked his feet off the ropes. The Genius got up and argued with the ref, getting in his face. Unbeknownst to him, Owen Hart crawled over and under the ropes, onto the ring apron. The Rocket began his ascent up to the top turnbuckle. The Genius finally waved off the ref and turned around, right into a Missile Dropkick off the top turnbuckle from Owen Hart! The Rocket made the cover and got the pinfall victory.

Winner via Pinfall at 8:08: “The Rocket” Owen Hart

Grade: C-

The Legion Of Doom vs. The Nasty Boys w/Jimmy Hart

http://i.imgur.com/DXLHXom.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/Aaf0b3k.jpg vs. http://i.imgur.com/3nOomzi.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/tWZPrlI.jpg

Slick sat in on commentary for this match, along with Sean Mooney and Lord Alfred Hayes. The Nasty Boys were out to prove that they had every right to be #1 contenders to the WWF Tag Team Titles currently held by the Hart Foundation, while the Legion Of Doom wanted to prove that they were the tag team to watch in 1991. Both teams were clobbering the hell out of each other to the delight of the fans. The Nasty Boys were able to isolate Hawk at one point, but he was able to make the tag to Animal, who proceeded to clean house. Animal took down both Nasty Boys with a double clothesline, then picked up Jerry Sags and tossed him out of the ring. While Jimmy Hart was checking up on Sags, Animal ran to clothesline Brian Knobbs, but Knobbs ducked and Animal took out the referee by accident. While Animal was going to work on Knobbs, Hercules and Paul Roma of Power & Glory decided to run down to the ring. Hawk and Animal were ready for them as they attempted to fight them off. Hercules had taken off his chains as he went to fight Animal, with Animal peppering him with right hands, then whipping him into the ropes and clotheslining him down to the canvas. Hawk, meanwhile, fought off Paul Roma and clotheslined himself and Roma over the top rope and to the floor, both men down and out. Brian Knobbs fought his way back up, but Animal grabbed him and whipped him into the ropes, taking him up and over with a thunderous powerslam. Animal went for the pin, but there was no referee. There was, however, Hercules and his big chain, which he picked up off the canvas and wrapped around his right forearm. Hercules brought the chain down across the back of Animal's head, causing him to fall over and off of Knobbs, then draped Knobbs arm over Animal's chest before helping the ref back up and running out of the ring. While the ref counted to three, Hercules put the boots to Hawk, then helped Roma back up.

Winners via Pinfall at 9:04: The Nasty Boys

Grade: B

http://i.imgur.com/syLsAdk.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/1cQTgs9.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/11whltt.jpg

It was time for the Royal Rumble Report with Mean Gene Okerlund. He ran down all the participants who would take part in this year's Royal Rumble... well, all but one participant, which he said would remain a mystery until the night of the Royal Rumble. He also reminded the viewers at home that the winner of this year's Royal Rumble would receive a shot at the WWF Heavyweight Champion, whoever it may be, at WrestleMania VII in Los Angeles, California. He also ran down some of the other matches at the event, with matches just added in recent weeks such as a rematch between the Orient Express and the Bushwhackers, as well as one-on-one action pitting Chris Jericho against Owen Hart. We would also see the WWF Tag Team Titles go on the line as the current champions, the Hart Foundation, would defend against the Nasty Boys; and the “Million Dollar Man” Ted DiBiase would take on his former bodyguard, Virgil. Also, the WWF Heavyweight Championship would go on the line as the reigning champion, the Ultimate Warrior, would defend the title against Sgt. Slaughter. Slaughter cut a promo on the Warrior, telling him that he would win the WWF Heavyweight Championship and return to the palace of Saddam Hussein to a hero's welcome. Then he had a warning for Hulk Hogan:

Sgt. Slaughter:Hogan, it will be a blessing in disguise for you if you cannot win the Royal Rumble, because if you do, you will be facing me at WrestleMania. And I will throw all of my heavy artillery at you, and show all of your Hulkamaniacs that you are not a real American, but rather, a real coward! How fitting that your colors are red and yellow, because if I do get my hands on you, I will spill your red blood all over the arena, and you will run like the yellow coward you are!

We then cut to a promo from the Ultimate Warrior, who told Slaughter that he would run him over not with military tanks, but with the “Power of Ultimate Destrucity!” He also had a warning for “Macho King” Randy Savage and Sensational Queen Sherri, and that was to stay as far away from this match as they could, or else their lives would be a living hell. Back to Gene, and he reminded the fans to call their cable providers today and order the Royal Rumble on PPV!

Grade: A

We're back to Vince McMahon, Gorilla Monsoon, Lord Alfred Hayes, Bobby Heenan and Slick, who all were excited about the upcoming Royal Rumble. They were then joined via satellite by two men facing each other at the Royal Rumble: Ted DiBiase, who was joining them via satellite from the spacious living room of his private mansion, and Virgil, joining them via satellite from his humble living room of his humble one story house that he was content with.

http://i.imgur.com/9BjzuuF.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/eEwd8X4.jpg

McMahon: Ted DiBiase, with all due respect, Virgil was very loyal to you. Treating him like a dog?! Give me a break! I paid him very well for his work, giving him a five cent raise every year for his hard work! I was more than happy to pay for his lunches from local fast food joints, and I got him an 8 Track Player, paid for out of my own pocket, so he could listen to his favorite music. And what thanks do I get?! You treated me as if I was family, letting me eat with you at the finest restaurants, putting me up in my very own room with all sorts of lavish amenities at the various expensive hotels we stayed at. You even gave me the best wrestling training possible just in case President Jack Tunney saw fit to make me wrestle. And the work you had me do was very rewarding, such as watching your back and making sure you didn't get shortchanged by referees and your opponents in your matches. But then, you got greedy. You started taking me to those fast food places; you put me up in cheap motels; you sold my boombox and replaced it with an 8 Track Player. Then you started treating me like a dog, making me shine your shoes, giving you toe massages, and you cut my pay by 80%! Well I got fed up of it and decided to declare MY independence! The WWF Tag Team Titles may not have been on the line, but Haku and the Barbarian took the fight to the Hart Foundation nonetheless. The match was pretty even at first until Barbarian damn near decapitated Jim Neidhart with a clothesline. Barbarian and Haku took turns tagging in and out, isolating the Anvil on their side of the ring. But the tide turned when Barbarian held Neidhart in place for a Haku super kick, only for Neidhart to duck and Haku to nail Barbarian with his super kick, sending the big man staggering backwards and falling through the ropes to the outside, prompting Bobby “The Brain” Heenan to run over and check on him. Neidhart tagged out to Bret Hart, then went to pick up Haku in a bearhug while Bret ran the ropes, jumped and nailed Haku with a clothesline, finishing him off with the Hart Attack. However, as he went for the pinfall, the Nasty Boys run in and attacked both the Anvil and the Hitman, prompting the referee to call for the bell. Heenan managed to help Barbarian to his feet, who then helped Haku out of the ring as Heenan called for his troops to go to the back and let the Nasty Boys try to finish off the Hart Foundation. Several officials ran down to the ring to attempt to separate the Hart Foundation and Nasty Boys.

Winners via DQ: The Hart Foundation

Grade: B-

Back to the roundtable panel, and Vince, Gorilla and Alfred can't believe what they saw, while Heenan and Slick thought it was smart of the Nasty Boys to try and soften up the Hart Foundation. But the Brain and Slick think it could be someone that Duggan thinks is a friend of his, and implicated Hulk Hogan, which McMahon, Gorilla and Alfred all found preposterous. But Mr. Perfect was bound and determined to hold on to it in any way that he could. The bout went back and forth until Perfect caught Von Erich with a picture perfect dropkick. The Flawless One, as Sean Mooney likes to call him, was having his way with Von Erich until he decided to go to the top rope and come crashing down with a double axe handle, only for Von Erich to catch him in the Iron Claw to a deafening roar from the Fort Worth crowd, cheering on their local hero. Von Erich let go of the claw, spun around and decked Perfect with a Tornado Punch, sending him flying over the top ropes and onto the floor. Bobby Heenan quickly ran over to help him up, with Von Erich trying to go to the outside, only for the ref to cut him off and tell him to get to a neutrel spot. This allowed Heenan to run over and grab the IC belt and help Perfect up as they retreated to the back. Macho King tried to match Davey Boy power for power, and that proved to be a huge mistake as Davey Boy overpowered Randy Savage in the early goings of the bout. The tide turned after Randy gouged Davey in the eyes, then started using his speed and quickness to his advantage. But the Bulldog would turn things back around in his favor when Macho King came running off the ropes and attempted a jumping cross body block, only for Bulldog to catch him, lift him up in a military press and throw him down with the Gorilla Press Slam. Bulldog was having his way with the Macho King and even hit him with his patented Running Powerslam, but Sensational Queen Sherri jumped up onto the ring apron to distract the referee, preventing a three count from taking place. Davey Boy looked over and saw Sherri distracting the ref and went over to confront the Queen. He grabbed her by the arm and warned her to stay out of his business, allowing Macho King time to recover. The ref got Davey Boy off of Sherri and told him to back off while Sherri hopped down off the apron, favoring her arm. Davey yelled out at Sherri, warning her once more to stay out of his business. Meanwhile, Macho King was back up, ran the ropes, jumped in the air and nailed Davey from behind with a running knee, sending him to the outside. Sherri trash talked Davey Boy while Macho King climbed up to the top turnbuckle, then came crashing down, nailing the Bulldog with his pantented Flying Double Axe Handle. Savage rolled back into the ring, and the referee told him to get into a neutrel corner. Savage distracted the ref while Davey was attempting to get back up, allowing Sherri to run over and nail him in the back of the head with her loaded purse. Sherri quickly got back to her corner before the ref turned around. The ref saw Davey Boy lying down face first, unconscious thanks to the loaded purse, and proceeded to count him out.

Winner via Count Out: at 10:58 “Macho King” Randy Savage

Grade: A

Back to the panel one last time, and McMahon, Gorilla and Alfred were disgusted with how Randy Savage won that match. As much work as it is putting these shows up, how would the masses feel if I save the format inspired by Final Countdown for PPVs, and just do recaps without all the graphics(save for the show logos) and such for TV? I'd still write up various things the workers may say such as for when I write the roundtables, or promos. I figured this way, the PPVs would feel more special.

Matt you nailed Sgt Slaughter in that promo. I like how theres quite a broad spread of storylines developing. I really hope the Duggan attack develops into something more. I'm looking for that one thing, that one spark that sets you apart and your diary heading off into uncharted waters. Could it be behind the Duggan attack? Or does it lie in the New Talent Initiative? Could Tugboat's predominance give him an elevated role on the company? Id like that. Tugboat for the King of the Ring.
