Both teams took turns tagging in and out as the match was fairly even. During the match, Earthquake sauntered down to ringside, which distracted Tugboat and the Hart Foundation, allowing Dino Bravo and the Nasty Boys to momentarily get the upper hand when Bravo turned Bret around and clotheslined him down to the canvas. Bravo and the Nasties isolated Bret on their side of the ring, but things began to turn around when the Hitman and Sags clotheslined each other. Sags made the tag to Bravo, but the Hitman was able to make the tag to the larger Tugboat. The big sailor had things going his way and was ready to finish off the Canadian Strong Man after the Hart Foundation cleared the Nasty Boys from ringside, brawling with them to the back. Tugboat tossed Bravo into the ropes and caught him with a powerslam while Jimmy Hart handed Earthquake his megaphone. Tugboat went to run the ropes as he was about to finish off Bravo with a Big Splash, but Earthquake nailed him in the back with the megaphone. The referee caught him and immediately disqualified him. As Tugboat was shaking off getting hit, Jimmy Hart and Earthquake grabbed Bravo and dragged him out of the ring, helping him to the back before the big man could get up and get his revenge. Shaking his head in disgust, you could tell he was planning on getting his hands on Earthquake somewhere down the line.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> <strong>Winners by DQ: Tugboat and the Hart Foundation</strong></p><p><strong> Grade: C</strong></p><p></p><p></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="36794" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><p><span>http://i.imgur.com/jrkWZOp.jpg</span><span>http://i.imgur.com/TxJecFp.jpg</span><span>http://i.imgur.com/fX4rbc6.jpg</span><span>http://i.imgur.com/cRRSGLV.jpg</span><span>http://i.imgur.com/WfKDTq8.jpg</span></p><div style="text-align:center;"></div><p> </p><p> McMahon, Gorilla and Piper were disgusted by what they saw while Heenan and Slick said that Dino Bravo and the Nasty Boys may not have gotten the win, but Tugboat got a clear message from Earthquake not to mess with Jimmy Hart's crew. He mentioned how Big Boss Man and Mr. Perfect were going to participate in the Royal Rumble match, and we got pre-recorded promos from the Boss Man, Bobby Heenan and Mr. Perfect. Boss Man said he had two missions: win the Rumble to get a shot at the WWF Title at WrestleMania, and make sure that no Heenan Family members won the Rumble. Heenan and Perfect responded with a promo of their own, running down Boss Man and his momma. Back to Sean Mooney, who mentioned that the Ultimate Warrior would defend the title against Sgt. Slaughter at the Rumble, and made mention of the fact that "Macho King" Randy Savage was going to be in the Rumble and how he's been wanting a shot at the Warrior for some time. We then heard comments from the Warrior, who said he was going to dispatch of Slaughter first, and then said in a way, he's rooting for the Macho King to win the Royal Rumble because he would love to dethrone him at WrestleMania. Savage and Sherri responded, telling Warrior that all the little warriors will soon be indentured servants in the Kingdom of the Madness.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> <strong>B+</strong></p><p></p><p></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="36794" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>The Rockers vs. The Orient Express w/Mr. Fuji</strong></p></div><p> <span>http://i.imgur.com/6vAp3h7.jpg</span><span>http://i.imgur.com/1yM6Z0V.jpg</span> <strong>vs.</strong> <span>http://i.imgur.com/GjpNJJd.jpg</span><span>http://i.imgur.com/yCblRPL.jpg</span></p><p> </p><p> The Rockers have been trying to climb back up to the top of the tag team mountain after almost being derailed by Power and Glory. While the ref was admonishing the Brain, Tito got up off of his pin attempt on Perfect and marched over to the apron, grabbing Heenan by the lapels of his jacket as the crowd was solidly behind him to nail him, chanting "Weasel! Jimmy Hart and Slick talk about how Macho King and Slaughter would win because there was going to be no way that the Warrior and Hogan could work together after WrestleMania VI. McMahon then throws it to the match.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> <strong>Grade: B-</strong></p><p></p><p></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="36794" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>The Ultimate Warrior and Hulk Hogan vs. "Macho King" Randy Savage and Sgt. Slaughter. Hogan and Warrior took turns tagging in and out, but the tide would turn when Warrior threw Slaughter into the corner, charged toward him and got hit with a boot to the face when Slaughter lifted his foot up in time. Slaughter and Savage were now taking turns working over the Warrior, and it looked like things were going their way. Savage was stomping down on the Warrior as he crawled over to the ropes. The Macho King kept stomping down on Warrior, but now those stomps weren't having any effect. Savage was hitting Warrior with everything he had as Warrior was struggling up, using the ropes to help himself up, but Warrior was shaking the ropes and his head before going crazy and making a big comeback, punching Savage over and over before hurling him over to his corner. Savage tagged out to Slaughter, but he was no match for the Warrior either. Warrior lifted the Sarge up in a Gorilla Press, then dropped him down face-first. Warrior then made the tag to Hulk Hogan, who decided to get some licks of his own in on Sgt. Slaughter. Sensational Queen Sherri had seen enough and ran in, taking off her heel and hitting Hogan in the back with it. But Hogan turned around and pointed his finger at the Queen, which prompted the Macho King to run in, only to eat a fist from the Hulkster. But now the Earthquake ran down to the ring and attacked Hogan, giving the ref no choice but to call for the bell.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> <strong>Winners by DQ: The Ultimate Warrior and Hulk Hogan</strong></p><p><strong> Grade: A</strong></p><p></p><p></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="36794" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><p><span>http://i.imgur.com/H4ASjok.jpg</span><span>http://i.imgur.com/1cQTgs9.jpg</span><span>http://i.imgur.com/YQHpU6f.jpg</span><span>http://i.imgur.com/11whltt.jpg</span><span>http://i.imgur.com/beODEB8.jpg</span></p><div style="text-align:center;"></div><p> </p><p> Warrior ran in to try and help Hogan, but the numbers game was too much as Earthquake, Sgt. Wow, long one in my opinion, dude, but i liked it. Hopefully you're going to stick with this one ^_^

I've thought about starting another diary (but sticking with the 1998 one as i'm really enjoying it) in this era with the save that i always mention in the mod thread, and tell the story from the start on it. It would be good, but it's just a thought for now. Now the thing is your own diary, and it looks great.

Also, I think what made the show longer were the Prime Time Roundtable exchanges. But at the same time, I was trying to capture that time period, and every diary I've read that had Prime Time Wrestling ran it as if it were an episode of Monday Night Raw. Maybe somebody else has done the roundtables, but I hadn't seen it done so I figured I'd do it. I know the roundtables were toward Prime Time's run, but I felt those really brought out the best in both Bobby Heenan and Curt Hennig. It seemed like they had a great time trying to top each other with their wisecracks, and there were times that Curt was on the verge of breaking character from laughter at Bobby's jokes.

<p>I liked the roundtable. </p><p> </p><p>

As far as I know, midcarders complaining is only if you don't book them at all for a few shows, and it mostly depends on their personality. I haven't found them to be nearly as pissy as they used to be in TEW'10.</p>

<p>FYI, something that really helps at least for me in 13 is the hour long preshow. If I have a guy who I know will get mad if he's left off a show, but I don't have a place for him anywhere, I'll put him on the pre or post show.</p><p> </p><p>

In exchange for my help, I demand a push of Demolition <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p>

Heenan commended Jimmy Hart on doing such a fine job of filling in for him on such short notice. Gorilla and Roddy Piper got on Heenan's case for speaking so highly of Jimmy Hart when in the past he's called him a little runt. Heenan claimed any footage they have of him calling Hart a little runt is doctored, and Slick chimed in, accusing Gorilla and Piper of trying to drive a wedge between two of the best managers in the WWF. McMahon proceeds to run down some of the matches we'll see tonight, such as a 10-man battle royal that will serve as a bit of a prelude to the Royal Rumble, as well as Hulk Hogan going one-on-one with Dino Bravo. But now he was ready to throw it to six man tag team action pitting Greg "The Hammer" Valentine and the Hart Foundation against the Mountie and the Nasty Boys, after which we would see an interview that Mean Gene Okerlund conducted with Demolition.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> <strong>Grade: B</strong></p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="36794" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div style="text-align:center;"><div><strong>The Mountie and the Nasty Boys w/Jimmy Hart vs. Greg Valentine and the Hart Foundation</strong><p><strong> </strong><span>http://i.imgur.com/i93LDef.jpg</span><span>http://i.imgur.com/3nOomzi.jpg</span><span>http://i.imgur.com/tWZPrlI.jpg</span></p><p><strong> vs.</strong></p><p> <span>http://i.imgur.com/lnm3vY3.jpg</span><span>http://i.imgur.com/NoF4cFs.jpg</span><span>http://i.imgur.com/Cuxvh4n.jpg</span></p><p> </p><p> Six man tag team action kicks off the show for the second week in a row as the Mountie and the Nasty Boys went up against three of Jimmy Hart's former clients, Greg "The Hammer" Valentine and the Hart Foundation. It was back and forth pretty much all throughout the bout. Towards the end, the Nasty Boys managed to draw the Hart Foundation offside, brawling outside the ring, which distracted the referee as he tried to get those two teams back to the ring. Valentine was working over the Mountie until Jimmy Hart jumped up on the ring apron to distract him. Valentine grabbed Jimmy by the collar of his jacket, allowing the Mountie to grab his shock stick and zap Valentine with it. The Hammer collapsed to the mat, while outside the ring, Brian Knobbs threw Bret Hart into the steel steps, and Jerry Sags suplexed Jim Neidhart on the floor. Butch then rolled Kato up and got the pinfall victory.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> <strong>Winners by pinfall at 6:26: The Bushwhackers</strong></p><p><strong> Grade: C-</strong></p><p></p><p></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="36794" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>Jimmy Snuka vs. Sgt. Mr. Perfect and his manager, Bobby "The Brain" Heenan, talk about how there was no way they were going to let some dumb Barney Fife win the Royal Rumble and headline WrestleMania. Perfect, however, told the Brain that he apologized in advance for having to take the fight to Heenan Family members Haku and the Barbarian. Boss Man responded, once again vowing not to let any member of the Heenan Family win the Rumble, and that he was going to win this Royal Rumble for his momma! Mean Gene announces Rick Martel and Jake "The Snake" Roberts, and we heard from them as well. Martel said it was too bad that Jake's eyesight was coming back so soon, because he's not going to like seeing the sight of Rick Martel winning the Royal Rumble and going on to WrestleMania to become the WWF Champion. The action was fast and furious, with Paul Roma eliminating Hawk when he ducked down and brought the top rope down as the Road Warrior came running toward him with a clothesline attempt, sending Hawk up and over to the floor. Hercules meanwhile clotheslined Animal over the top rope, sending him out. Power and Glory wasted time high fiving each other and posing for the crowd, then turned around and both got clotheslined out of the ring by "The British Bulldog" Davey Boy Smith. Barbarian was holding Texas Tornado in place for Haku, only for Tornado to duck and Haku to inadvertently super kick Barbarian up and over the top rope, all the way to the floor. Tornado grabbed a hold of Haku in the Iron Claw, let go and knocked him out of the ring with the Tornado Punch. Outside the ring, Power and Glory were putting the bad mouth to the Legion of Doom, sparking a brawl between the two teams. Back inside the ring, where Jim Duggan was trying to punch away at the Undertaker, but nothing doing as the Dead Man grabbed him by the throat and threw him over the top rope and to the floor. While Taker and Duggan were fighting, Davey Boy and Tornado were going at it, with Davey Boy getting the better of Tornado after ducking a Tornado Punch and tossing him over the top rope and to the floor. It was down to Undertaker and Davey Boy, and the Bulldog gave Undertaker everything he could handle, but nothing seemed to phase him. Bulldog hand knocked Taker off his feet and down to the canvas, but he kept getting back up. Davey Boy even managed to lift him up for a successful Running Powerslam, which Taker tried to sit up from, but couldn't. Davey Boy then went to go pick up Taker, but Paul Bearer got up on the ring apron to distract the Bulldog. Davey ran over to try and strike Paul Bearer, but he managed to jump down off the apron in time. Davey Boy yelled at him to mind his own business. Meanwhile, Undertaker had gotten back up to his feet. The Bulldog turned around and right into a running big boot from the Undertaker.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> <strong>Winner at 11:27: The Undertaker</strong></p><p><strong> Grade: B-</strong></p><p></p><p></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="36794" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><p><span>http://i.imgur.com/jrkWZOp.jpg</span><span>http://i.imgur.com/TxJecFp.jpg</span><span>http://i.imgur.com/fX4rbc6.jpg</span><span>http://i.imgur.com/cRRSGLV.jpg</span><span>http://i.imgur.com/WfKDTq8.jpg</span></p><div style="text-align:center;"></div><p> </p><p> Back to the Prime Time panel, where they all agreed that the Undertaker was definitely a favorite to win the Royal Rumble, with Bobby Heenan wondering if the man was even human. They talked about how Hulk Hogan seems to be going in all directions, fighting for America after what Sgt. Slaughter had to say about the country, while also embroiled in this feud against Dino Bravo and Earthquake, fighting alongside his friend, Tugboat. Bobby Heenan and Slick predicted Hogan's career would be ended permanently this go around as he is taking on too much pressure to handle. Gorilla Monsoon and Rowdy Roddy Piper disagreed, saying if anyone could fight all these battles, it was the Hulkster. Dino had everything going his way, and hit his patented Side Slam on Hogan. He goes for the pin, but Hogan kicks out! Hogan is Hulking up as the crowd goes crazy! Dino keeps punching away at Hogan, but those punches are having no effect. Hogan punches back, then tosses Dino into the ropes, knocking him down with the Big Boot! Hogan goes to run the ropes, comes bouncing off, jumps up and nails Dino Bravo with the Big Leg Drop! But given Tugboat's huge size, it has no effect, and the big man turns around. He grabs Jimmy by the collar of his jacket, but Dino Bravo, getting back up, runs over and clips Tugboat in the leg from behind, taking him down to one knee. Dino Bravo grabs Jimmy's megaphone, runs over and hits Tugboat in the head with it, knocking him out. Earthquake and Dino stomp down on Hogan and Tugboat, and it looks like Earthquake is about to give someone an Earthquake Splash. The Million Dollar Man took firm control of the match, wearing the WWF Champion down. It looked like he had the match won as he locked Warrior in the Million Dollar Dream, but Virgil came walking down to the ring. DiBiase got distracted and let go of the Warrior, turning his attention to Virgil. Virgil just stood at ringside, crossing his arms, while DiBiase yelled at him from inside the ring. <span style="font-size:14px;"><span style="font-family:'Lucinda Sans Unicode';">The WWF held a press conference today at their headquarters in Stamford, Connecticut. WWF owner and CEO, as well as the head booker, Vince McMahon, announced that while some may feel that wrestling's popularity has waned, that's not going to stop him from looking to the future. He said a bright future is on the horizon, and today marks the beginning of the WWF's New Talent Initiative. With that said, he announced the signings of Owen Hart, and a young rookie named Chris Jericho. When asked about why he signed Jericho, Vince said that he has shown signs of having the high flying ability of Shawn Michaels, the technical ability of Bret Hart, and the charisma and mic skills of superstars such as Hulk Hogan, Roddy Piper and Randy Savage. Vince kept up the illusion of kayfabe by bringing out "WWF President" Jack Tunney, who sounded genuinely excited about the signings of both Owen Hart and Chris Jericho. Tunney said what better place to showcase such young talent then against each other at the Royal Rumble in Miami on January 27. Vince McMahon then ended the press conference saying that the signings of Owen Hart and Chris Jericho were just the beginning, and that over the next few weeks, more new talent would be coming to the World Wrestling Federation.</span></span></p></div><p></p><p></p>
