PSW - default product challenge

Recommended Posts

Honestly, I kinda liked the brass tacks approach of straight local to global. One thing I always wondered about in TEW2010 is what you'd do with Glenn if you had him form the start and could build that easy 100 pop in great lakes/tri state before using him as the regional to national "death zone" tour guide.

Also, why the poor gimmick penalties?

White Dolphin- thanks for the comment and reading

i sorta answered the gimmick thing as i have some goto gimmicks for mainstream fed and i just kinda experiemented with stuff in PSW or let guys try their default gimmick and none of it worked. Although i am not sure it will help i moved my creativity from 5-6.

In 2010 you could have 3 weekly shows with the proper product and workers without any downside (0% danger/intensity 90+ resilience). I would take 24 workers take the guys i wanted to use in the ppv and give them dominating wins in the home region to get them to 100 popularity there and run shows in other place just with open matches they won if they have 100 popularity in great lakes region and 47 everywhere else then they still would resign with me even if i wasn't national yet. in 2010 KC Glenn = main event saftey net Josh Jones usually was good to plug in as well to carry a match.

w4lru5-I have been holding my weekly TV show in the tri state and my monthly big event in Great Lakes region. My TV show affects Tri State, Mid Atlantic, New England and South East regions.

I hopefully will be able to get on a larger network and get ppv coverage at some point down the road.

Findlay O'Farraday and Air Attack Weasel have been great signings both of them can step in a match and get at least good enough ratings and on a few occasions have been in the best match of the night. I was worried about Storm Spillane and Marvel Malloy but they have been solid. I just wish a couple of the guys i signed when i first started had become more than just guys to beat on the way to the big event.

My match ratings are signigicantly lower is one of my 8 are not in the match the last few months outside an occasional foray from fro sure and frantic ali has been focusing on them.

Deadman and Reese Paige are dating

I am kinda rushing to finish the year match reports will be up soon

It was time to renew my TV contract and I saw i qualified with The POP! network. They have a presence in Canada as well as the United States. It is always nice to get extra exposure. They also have a very high risk content so they are a better fit so PSW: Monday Mayham is moving to a new network.

I am really eager to finish the year and see where my guys are at. This year has been a really good one for PSW.

2015: Year in Review

Company of the Year PSW

wow was not expecting that

Show of the Year

PSW: November

Young Wrestler of the Year

Marvel Malloy

We decide to create a dojo in the Tri State area I make Greg Black

the head trainer. Had some interesting names to choose from

Bruce the Giant and Buddy Garner among them. It is just a

general training dojo.

There are 3 things that I have been using for deciding who to push

#1 was popularity and then #2 pychology and #3 selling here is where

our guys are at now

Air Attack Weasel 85,80,95

Ash Campbell 87, 86, 62

Chester Varelans 47, 52, 100

Wierd Waldo Odlaw 58, 67,85

Xavi Ferrera 16, 78, 84

All workers are on written deals with about 9 years left except

Findlay who is the owner of PWMAX.

If i am reading it right only Chester Varlans and Frantic Ali have a

decent shot of breaking into the monthly event in the near future.

For what it is worth Fro Sure had 92 rated match with Greg Black

on Monday Mayham so that is good.(too bad he stuck at 51 pop)

I am thrilled to get on the pop network. Having all that exposure is

great. Getting to National through Global became alot quicker now.

They also allow high risk matches.

We are currently ranked 11th in the world. After the dojo we have over

4 million in savings

CGC i noticed has Wolf Hawkins on a written deal they are 8th in the world

I looked at their history Sean Dealy is a midcarder. I would like to

get in there and do some booking for them as they have the 3 DeColts

Trent Shaffer and Wolf Hawkins could really get good matches

With some Bobby Thomas Dan Delay Joe Money being on the next

level plus whoever i could get over (Sean Deeley and Donnie J who

be guys i would try to get over first who are already there)

The power 500 i usually don't pay that much attention but Greg Black

came in at #3 he has a shot to be wrestler of the year at some point.

When i do a filter of excellent in ring workers nobody on our roster shows

Excellent selling = Air Attack Weasel, Chester Varelans, Greg Black

and Remmy Skye

Excellent Pyschology Findlay O'Farraday, Steven Parker and Storm

Spillane

I am sure Ash Campbell isn't far from the Pyschology list

Our behind the sceens workers

Reese Paige 68 psy and 64 respect not a great road agent but she is cheap and has friends

RM Stones 74 ref again not the best but has positive relations

Joffy Laine usually does the colour commentation with 90 charisma

I tried to sign Steve Flash to be another Road Agent and he is not comfertable with our product

we will get by with what we have

Chester Varelans is one of the hillbillies regen I am have tempted to give

him a pedo gimmic and call him chester the molester heck it can't be worse than most of my gimmicks already. Maybe put him in a bear suit for pedobear.

We still can't get on ppv but we will keep trying.

I really forgot 70% during tv and 90% for the ppv oppsie

On the plus side Chester Varlans and Frantic Ali could probally step into the fold without losing too much with 60+ and 70+ popularity hopefully they keep growing. Chester i am really pulling for as he has great basics and selling and would be a good fit like Air Attack Weasel. Course since i just mentioned it the both are probally capped now.

all told it was a decent show. It is just a matter of time before we become national at this point (i think).

Madman Boone is the only guy listed on time decline although Deadbolt and Mad Dog Mortimore are probally not far behind.

A serious concern i have is Greg Black who basically has been our go to guy since our first show is 35 if he shows up on the time decline list well i can get some decent ratings without him i can not consistantly get them. Although Remmy's pyschology has improved if i kept him against right guys i could pull it off and at this point his is only 31 so he should be able to go for a while yet. Not as concerned as i was 5 minutes ago :-)

Glad to see this is still going.

Just wondering what angles do you use and how do you book your weekly build up shows?

I've started something similar using a product which is Key Traditional, Key Mainstream and Heavy comedy (somthing similar to one of your previous diaries <img alt=";)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/wink.png.686f06e511ee1fbf6bdc7d82f6831e53.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />) and just looking for tips.

Spud1305- thanks for the comment

I usually use a custom angle put for psw the fans like risk it usually based

on popularity, it doesn't always stay the same. At the weekly shows though

its 8 man win based on popularity. It is kinda cheezy but if i don't get everyone involved every week things can go bad quickly.

For tips the biggest thing is to understand next big thing/hot prospect. With your product getting guys with 90+ popularity = success. The more you can get the merrier. Sign lots of young guys on ppa if they are not a top prospect have them job a while and send them packing (unless they pick up some chemistry) if you don't see anything long term for them. When i can aford it i pretty much "try out" every north american wrestler when they debut most of the time your not going to get anything but when you find someone who is young and you can lock up on a 10 year written deal for peanuts who in 2-3 years is main eventing your ppv's and could main event in any promotion it is pretty special (main motivation for playing the game tbh). A good way to keep cost under control and not signing too many guys is have (24 is min at cult 32 at national although i am not awake yet i think that is correct) have 24 guys on written deals a 8 ppa and have them job to your best 8 workers once each can be on pre show matches maybe try a few tag matches next month if you got a couple new guys fire the guys you like least rinse/repeat.

just wanted to add a little about protecting your prospects popularity.

If you local sized and lucky enough to have a few guys listed under next big thing (give them a midcard push and see if they show on the list if they are higher than that). Since you can only have a monthly show give them wins at every show. Basically they never lose for me because the higher they can get has a snowball effect for the rest of the roster. When you can run a weekly show then you can have 4 shows to build up to the big monthly event and recent forturnes is less of a factor. Having a couple vets holding down the main event spots is fine and can still be usefull guys when your young guys overtake them. Getting to cult and locking up the next big things is a very fun part of the game for me. I have gotten to cult without having a next big thing on the roster. Finding and grooming them is a never ending game within the game for me. Having guys with good in ring skills with low popuarlity cap are still usefull espcially if they have 86+ psy and selling i don't have if they cap below 50 because they still will be goto guys every week on my show even if its just the opening matches they get 3 matches against your guys every 6 months use them all. Your popular guys get better in the ring and they can get a high rated match with them.

Making the best of a bad lot can be very rewarding While it helps to have great workers with 90+ popularity pscyhology and selling having a dozen guys who cant get above 70ish selling and popularity and trying to stay at a national level is very challenging and more fun than pretty much being able to book another A rated show like you have for the last several years.
