TNA 2013 and beyond:- Wrestling till death do us part.

Recommended Posts

November 1st 2013 for the past few years TNA Wrestling has been under the leadership of Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff. It’s been a rocky time for the company, Hogan promised to take TNA to the next level and be able to compete with the WWE in reality the needle has barely moved. They were some good times under Hogan and Bischoff and there was some bad time but with Hogan’s contract running down and Bischoff being sent home the company is entering a transitional phase.

Rumours of financial trouble have been doing the rounds for months. Since taking Impact Wrestling on the road production cost have been sparling out of control and low attendance figures across the country haven’t helped the situation. News has been coming out for months that the company is under financial strain and workers have been being paid late. The latest rumour is that Panda Energy is looking to off load the company, this has been denied by Dixie Carters mother Janice Carter but the companies’ future still seems to be in doubt.

With TNA Wrestling current product being compared to the dying days of WCW, can the dawning of the new era finally see TNA establish themselves as a viable contender to the WWE that the business needs? Or is the promotion destined to die as so many in the past have predicted?

(unlike the traditional diary format I'll be presenting this diary in video form. This first episode just serves as an introduction to the start champions and roster/owner goals and my opinions on them/feel free to skip this episode is you wish.)

Impact Wrestling

Thursday, Week 1, November 2013

Location: - GA – Macon Coliseum

Attendance: - 7,182 (sell-out)

This week’s edition of Impact Wrestling opens with Dixie Carter back stage where she is asked by Jeremey Borash about AJ Styles defending the TNA World Heavyweight Championship against El Mesias in Mexico. Dixie Carter mentions that’s she is glad that AJ Styles has gone from TNA Wrestling. She cuts a promo about AJ Styles isn’t the true World Champion. That AJ Styles walked out on TNA. Him defending that title belt means nothing and starting tonight we get a tournament to decide who the true TNA World Heavyweight Champion is. D-

--

Kenny King VS Manik

The opening match on the card see Kenny King get the victory over the former TNA X-Division Champion Manik. Pretty solid X-Division match between the two men who were sent out with the instructions to warm the crowd up for the rest of the event. The only downside to the match is that Kenny King and Manik didn’t click together and this hampered the match rating overall D+

--

We head backstage and see Kazarian and Christopher Daniels the Bad Influence. Daniels mentions that the Bad Influence are the best tag team in the business. They are better than Robbie E and Jessie the Bromen, before querying what on earth a Bromen is, and they are defiantly better than that drunk redneck and Neanderthal tag team partner. It’s that comment that bring James Storm and Gunner into shot. The two teams argue before getting into a confrontation back stage. The segment ends with Taz and Mike Tenay hyping a Tag Team match up later on in the show. C

ODB VS Velvet Sky VS Brooke Tessmacher

The three woman battle to decide who is the number one contender for Gail Kim’s Knockout Championship. The three woman do a good job with the time they are given. It’s Velvet Sky that picks up the victory in the end by hitting an In Your Face and pinning Brooke Tessmacher. Velvet Sky will take on Gail Kim for the Knockouts Title on next week edition of Impact Wrestling. D

--

Velvet Sky is seen celebrating her victory in the ring as Taz and Mike Tenay promote the knockouts titles match due to happen on next week show. D

--

We go back stage and Bully Ray is with the remanding members of Aces and Eights. Bully Ray says he has had enough of Mr Anderson screwing around with him and his family. Aces and Eights have turned in to an embarrassment and he is tired with being surrounded by fools. Bully Ray barks orders at Garrett Bischoff and Wes Brisco. He tells them that next week if they don’t end Mr Anderson once and for all they don’t belong in Aces and Eights.

Overall it was a good segments, Brooke Tessmacher and Bully Ray had good chemistry on screen. But Garrett Bischoff was dreadful and Wes Brisco looked lost alongside Bully. D+

--

We go straight into another angle this time a video package promoting the up and coming encounter between Magnus and Samoa Joe. The video shows them winning the Tag Team Championship, the two of them battling for the Television Championship at Bound for Glory along with how both men became members of the Main Event Mafia. The stipulation for the match is announced as being an Ultimate Submission match. D+

--

Ultimate Submission- World Title Tournament First Round

Magnus VS Samoa Joe

Solid Wrestling match between the two of them. The match was booked with the objective of putting Magnus over. Magnus gets the only submission of the match with the Kings Lynn Cloverleaf to win 1-0 on the night and advance towards the TNA World Heavyweight Championship. C-

--

Sting and Kurt Angle make their way down to the ring as Magnus celebrates his victory over Samoa Joe. Magnus askes what this is about as Sting grabs one of the microphones from the ring side officials. Sting cuts a promo about how the main event mafia has always been about the best in the world. In the past few weeks Magnus has proved himself worthy. He proved himself by beating Sting at Bound for Glory and tonight beating Samoa Joe.

Sting hypes up Magnus before Kurt Angle takes the Microphone. Kurt Angle congratulates Magnus over his victory tonight but reminds him that, when he beats Austin Aries next week it’s Angle who he will be facing in the semi-finals, and he won’t get past Kurt Angle on his way to once again become TNA Heavyweight Champion. Magnus and Kurt Angle come face to face before Sting and Joe separate the two of them. B-

--

We head backstage and Jeremey Borosh is with the TNA X-Division Champion Chris Sabin and his girlfriend Velvet Sky. Chris Sabin is here to cut a promo about tonight’s main event between himself and Jeff Hardy. Sabin reminds everyone that the last two the two cross paths in Ultimate X at Bound for Glory it was him who came out on top. He proved that night he was the better wrestler and tonight he will prove it again.

Jeremey Borash asks about Chris Sabin using his girlfriend Velvet Sky in that match. Chris Sabin act likes he doesn’t know what JB is talking about. He says that Velvet was happy with him winning the X-Division Championship and that they celebrated all night long after his victory. Sabin then says that was nothing compared to what he has in store when he wins back his World Heavyweight Championship. Sabin leaves a disgusted Velvet Sky behind him as the segment ends. C+

--

The music of the Tag Team Champions hit and the Bromen Jessie and Robbie E make their way down to ringside. Robbie E and Jessie take seats at the commentary booth alongside Taz and Mike Tenay. E+

James Storm and Gunner VS the Bad Influence

The two Tag Teams put on a good contest between them, as Robbie E and Jessie talk about the two teams doing their best to run them down. In the ring the four men put on the match of the night. The finish comes with James Storm hitting the Last Call Superkick on Kazarian after the match breaks down into a brawl. The highlight of the match was the chemistry shared between Kazarian and Christopher Daniels. B-

--

After the match Jessie and Robbie E hit the ring and start beating down James Storm and Gunner. Robbie E and Jessie get the jump on James Storm and Gunner before James Storm fight back sending Robbie E and Jessie fleeing from the ring D-

--

We go to another video package this time feature the wrestlers from tonight’s main event. The video shows all of Chris Sabin and Jeff Hardy’s achievements since joining TNA including both of them becoming TNA World Heavyweight Champion. The video ends with clips from Bound for Glory and Sabin throwing Velvet Sky into the ring to distract Jeff Hardy allowing him to win the X-Division Championship. Mike Tenay and Taz then hype the Full Metal Mayhem match that’s coming up next. B-

--

The crowd was on fire for the main event of the evening. Both men were given time to shine in this TV main event that lasted nearly twenty minutes. The length of the match men that both men were visible tried before the end of the contest. Chris Sabin once again forces Velvet Sky to get involved in the match against her will in an attempt to distract Jeff Hardy as they did at Bound for Glory. The distraction doesn’t work however and Jeff Hardy hits the Twist of Fate before claiming the ladder and retaining the contract for a second round match-up. C

--

Jeff Hardy music is still playing all around the arena. As Chris Sabin comes around and realized that he lost the match and his chance to become the new TNA World Heavyweight Champion. Chris Sabin gets into Velvet Sky’s face yelling at Velvet and blaming her for his defeat tonight against Jeff Hardy. Velvet slaps Chris Sabin across the face before looking viable shaken by what she just did to her boyfriend. Chris Sabin stares at Velvet before leaving the ring as a shocked and upset Velvet Sky yells that she is sorry, Impact heads of air. C

I've updated the Cpt.charisma October database to reflect the current rosters and champions more or less. The only error I have noticed is the EC3 problem. Basiclly I didn't notice EC3 wasn't on TNA roster already so didn't add him, only found out when I was recording. Anyway I just signed EC3 in game so problem solved apart from setting up the gimmick, going to be a week or so before he can start appearing on impact however.

Roode takes Magnus out of the equation while Austin Aries picks Angle up and hits the brain-buster to pick up the victory and advance into the semi-finals against Magnus next week on Impact. Word on the internet dirty sheets suggest Kurt Angle was unhappy taking the lost and had words with TNA management after the show. <strong>C</strong> </p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Austin Aries retreats to the back celebrating his win in the tournament. While Kurt Angle gets back to his feet. Angle is confused as to what happened and is clearly upset with his Main Event Mafia partner. Magnus offers Kurt Angle the hand shake after the match but Angle just walks away ending the show. A good ending to this edition of impact however Magnus seemed to underperformed during this ending segment. <strong>C+</strong></p><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><em>©TNA Wrestling 2013</em></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="36978" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><em>Feel this episode was a lot better than last weeks edition of Impact/Xplosion.. moved along some story-lines quite nicely and got a lot packed into the two hour time slot. Austin Aries takes on Magnus of the Main Event Mafia. Can Austin Aries take over a member of the Main Event Mafia for the second week in a row? Will Magnus do what Kurt Angle couldn’t and take A Double down on his quest for Championship Gold? And how will Kurt Angle react to being hit by a chair by his Main Event Mafia Colleague? </p><p> </p><p> Then we switch gears as the IT Factor of professional Wrestling takes on the crasmatic enigma Jeff Hardy. Can the longest reign champion in TNA History get past this fan favourite and one step closer to retaining that gold? Who will survive and move on fight for the vacant gold next week on Impact Wrestling?</p><p> </p><p> Plus Mr Anderson and Bully Ray come face to face as they look to sign the contract that will make their match at Final Resolution official. They are sure to be fireworks when these to enemies meet in the middle of the ring, plus what will happen between Bully Ray and the rest of the Aces and Eights. Is this really the end for this once dominate faction? </p><p> </p><p> The TNA Tag Team Championship will also be up for gold. <p>Zema Ion VS <strong>Manik</strong> VS Kenny King </p><p>

I'm actually a friend of the guy who plays Manik, TJ Perkins, through social media and such. When I say that, I mean more of a friend than the average fan. <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> So, I will probably always pick him to win. Also, not sure if you knew this or not, but Zema Ion actually has a tumor and probably shouldn't be wrestling now. Though of course you don't have to go along with that in the diary. <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

Chavo Guerrero VS <strong>Chris Sabin</strong> </p><p>

HAIL SABIN! Not my favorite as a heel, but he is a hell of an X-Division competitor.</p><p> </p><p>

TNA World Tag Team Championship</p><p>

James Storm and Gunner VS <strong>The Bromen</strong></p><p>

I think the joke is that they're the BroMans. <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> Nevertheless, I don't think even they should drop the belts so quickly.</p><p> </p><p>

World Title Tournament Semi Final:- </p><p>

Austin Aries VS <strong>Magnus</strong></p><p>

Don't make a mistake, Magnus is a big asset. <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

World Title Tournament Semi Final:-</p><p>

Jeff Hardy VS <strong>Bobby Roode</strong></p><p>

Better option going forward.</p>

yeh I liked the roster overview too. Good to hear your thoughts on all your 'talent'... and good to hear we agree on most too :)

TNA Television Championship:-

Ethan Carter 3rd VS Jay Bradley

HAS to be EC3... Bateman was a talented guy. Should have given him a Faaaanddaaanggooooo gimmick and re-teamed him with Curtis.

ODB VS Miss Tessmacher

Wes Brisco and Garrett Bischoff VS Chavo Guerrero and Hernandez

I think the vets put the youngsters over.

Chris Sabin/w Velvet Sky VS Rockstar Spud

Spud would shock the WORLD if he won it!!

Jeff Hardy VS Magnus

TNA World Heavyweight Championship:-

Bobby Roode VS Austin Aries

WOW!... I can't call this... Umm... draw?!

<p>ok I'm trying to get Microsoft word so I can finish writing this show while i download battlefield 4. I keep getting the following message</p><p> </p><p>

<em>"We cannot add this payment method because it already exists in your account. Please try with another one."</em> then it doesn't let me pay for it or select use the card so confused right now. Why do company make it such a pain in the ass to legitimately give them money -.-;</p>

Again Velvets involvement in the match helps add a lot of spice to the encounter between the two men. Its a little rise and repeat of last week’s edition of Impact with Sabin being booked to dominate his much younger opponent. Sabin during the match is showing of to Velvet and asking if she likes the beat down Spud is getting. The end comes with Velvet getting on the ring apron. And pleading with Sabin to end it. This little distraction allows Spud to get a shock rollup win for the victory, to advance the feud beyond this episode. <strong>D+</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p> Sabin is living that Spud managed to defeat him after the match. He launches another assault on the brit, gabbing a steal chair from the outside. Velvet tries to get between them but Sabin just pushes her to the ground before driving the chair across the body of Spud. Sabin dose the classic arm break with a chair routine while yelling “That this isn’t funny!” towards Spud. Sabin plays the role of being furious very well and again Velvet is excellent at being the distraught girlfriend pleading with Sabin to stop the attack. When Sabin is finished he grabs the tearful Velvets hand and pulls her to the back. <strong>C- </strong></p><p> </p><p> --</p><p> </p><p> We get a little backstage video with Mike Bennett. Much like last week Kurt Angle, Samoa Joe and Sting appear on the stage to watch the action unfold. This leads to a false finish were Jeff Hardy almost repeats Austin Aries victory the week before.
