Struggling with the time it takes to mod a wrestler

Recommended Posts

I've been trying to make some real world/historical wrestlers in a federation (either via importing and modifying or from scratch) but have been struggling. Hoping someone can list an efficient method or offer tips.

I try to use Mass Edit when applicable, and have no issues with assigning stats and popularity. My main issue is movesets. After I choose culture and category, I autogen the moveset but there are just tons of moves that I don't want.

Haven't messed with finishers/trademarks yet, but wondering about how to create + assign those easily as well.

Secondly, assigning attributes seems time-consuming as well. I do it per wrestler, and have to go back to the wrestler screen and assign it as well.

Any advice on how to make this quicker or what to filter, copy, Mass Edit, kill two birds with one stone, shortcuts, etc?

I have this complaint too, as i'm wanting to have a realistic game with TEW converted mods. Adam should have added a mass delete to move-set categories because in my match with Hulk Hogan against Ultimate Warrior, he spammed comedy moves and WHO THE HELL used comedy moves in the WWF except for the comedy acts?

I don't have the game in front of me, Smasher- when I click on Autogenerate moveset from the categories I had selected from the main screen, does it autogen from all the categories or just the ones I checked, i.e. shouldn't it just generate a "Savage" moveset if that's what I chose previously or does it randomly generate moves from all categories based on skills?

There's no need to be going back and doing it manually each time.</p>

Checked the worker editor to see if it showed up under Attribute Set? Check that the attributes in question were applied to whatever disposition you were using in Exhibition mode?</p>

If you don't want certain moves in someone's moveset then you can always remove them of course, but there isn't really a lot the game can do other than add appropriate moves for the culture and categories selected.</p><p> </p><p> Note that you don't have to create a moveset for everyone, leaving it at None will cause the moveset to be generated on a match-per-match basis according to his culture and categories.</p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="37117" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>Haven't messed with finishers/trademarks yet, but wondering about how to create + assign those easily as well.</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Easy as pie. Just create the move, set it to be a Trademark Of: the wrestler in question, and it'll always appear in any movesets he has. You don't have to (can't, in fact) add it to the move set manually, it'll automatically appear in his moveset in the game.</p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="37117" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>Secondly, assigning attributes seems time-consuming as well. One slightly annoying thing is that the Save button exits the screen, so you have to re-enter the screen to add the attribute set to the wrestler.</p><p> </p><p> I'm not really much of a 'mod guy', but if I was I'd probably do it one of two ways:</p><p> </p><p> 1, Work out a list of all the guys I was going to add in this 'session' of modding. Then once I've added them all, go to the attribute screen and set up attribute lists for all of them.</p><p> </p><p> or, 2, Add a load of attribute sets for guys, then go into the Wrestlers section and create the wrestlers I'd just made sets for, assigning the attribute sets I'd created to them as I go.</p><p> </p><p> Not sure which would be easier.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> For move sets, I'd probably just ignore them until the data was almost done, and then go through them on a promotion-by-promotion basis and sort out the move sets. They'd all have their finishers and trademarks anyway, so the data would play fine without specific move sets. You could fine-tune them afterwards for realism.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> Adam, while you're viewing the thread (<img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png">), it'd be good if the Save button on Attribute Sets (and Move Sets, come to think of it) didn't exit the screen automatically, as they need to be saved to the database before they can be added to a wrestler. And/or, it'd be great if there was a Mass Edit option to set all Attribute Sets to the worker with the same record name. For instance, set the attribute set called Aaron Andrews to the worker named Aaron Andrews. That way you could import attribute sets and stuff into a database, it'd be cool. It would enable, for instance, Person A to create a list of Attribute Sets for a database Person B was working on. Person B could them import them all and automatically assign them, saving him the work.</p>
