"Tommy Cornell, generally considered to be the best wrestler in the world, has held the TCW World Title for the last fourteen months and once again looks unstoppable. After dominating four men and winning the strap at “The War to Settle the Score ‘13”, Tommy’s 7th reign could end up being his longest yet. He has dispatched RDJ and Rick Law in the months since, taking it easy of late with a much lighter schedule and a lot of tag team and multi-man matches. Only one challenger has even come close to being at his level….

Bryan Vessey took World Champion Tommy Cornell the distance, wrestling to a thirty minute draw in a non-title match on live television the second week of March. Upon hearing the showing put him in line for a title shot, Bryan enlisted the help of his semi-retired brother, Larry, to train him and accompany him to the ring. It has given him new life. Larry’s assistance has been invaluable in his ascent up the rankings as his loud, motivating, gravelly voice from the floor and his regular interference have led directly to Bryan’s latest wins.

For the last couple of weeks, Vessey has been getting into the face of Wolf Hawkins, trying to get at Tommy by getting into the face of his best friend and protégé on live TV. Every time Wolf and the Vesseys cross paths, there is extreme tension. Wolf is not one to back down and his willingness to fight caused a two on one scene where Larry and Bryan stomped the young Hawkins into the mat until he was rescued by the hottest faction in TCW’s recent history.

DOA has run roughshod over TCW for the last four months, when Rocky Golden introduced the monster Atlas and the almost 500 pound Mighty Mo as his partners in crime and started intervening in matches on behalf of justice. Their hit list has been a who’s who of TCW names, and of late, they are said to be on the trail of “the top dog” but have given little hint as to who that might be.

“The Prototype” Joey Minnesota is on the best in-ring run of his career. Not only is he in the best shape of his life, a ripped Adonis-like 235, but he’s been more focused than ever, adding some advanced video scouting to his brutal gym schedule. Last month, as part of TCW’s international initiative, Minnesota toppled three Burning Hammer heavyweights in cyborg-like fashion. Rumors are rampant that Joey is tired of being led off course with things like the international tour and wants to be in the World title picture sooner rather than later.

The veteran New Wave sits atop the tag team division in TCW, stopping Brent Hill and John Anderson at last month’s PPV, defending their titles and breaking up Hill and Anderson by causing Anderson’s firing. Currently, the corrupt Rick Law and the massive bodyguard Charlie Thatcher, Tommy Cornell’s minions/staff members have set their sights on Guide and Scout and the tag team titles.

Waiting their turn, the Cali Dragons, Mikey James and Frankie Perez, have gone from indy stars to household names in just over a year, ripping off almost two dozen wins in steady competition including an upset of Brent Hill and John Anderson only five days before their loss to the New Wave. Their unreal in-ring tempo, perpetual underdog status, and innovative offense has quickly made them crowd favorites and merchandise stalwarts.

Jay Chord’s rise up the ranks has been a bit more predictable. His behavior has not been. Upon his arrival in TCW he seemed like an ordinary entitled brat, coasting on his pedigree. But of late, it seems he has some other influence and has turned dark and introspective. He dominated Texas Pete on TV two weeks in a row and now is right in the mix of the next tier of contenders, joining the finally recovered from ankle surgery Troy Tornado, and the struggling, distracted blue chipper who can’t quite crack the upper level, Aaron Andrews.

After six months away from the promotion on a tour of Japan, the three hundred pound Ino has returned with a vengeance running off four straight wins and leaving an open contract for anyone who wants to sign their name on the dotted line and face him in the ring. If it is possible, it’s as though his time overseas has made him even more stiff, unforgiving, and dangerous.

The rest of the roster is rounded out with the massive Canadian rookie Skip Beau, the trusted veteran hand and tag team specialist Robert Oxford, the high-flying underdog-elvis, Harry Allen, the no-gimmick-having/hates gimmicks guy Ben Benson, the 365 pound meathead party-boy Kevin Stevens, and the aging gatekeeper Ricky Dale Johnson.

I’m sure there are other guys I’m forgetting…..Eliot Thomas has gotten whipped on a pair of recent TV shows and there is a pretty large class of graduates due out of the TCW dojo this month, the first class trained by both Tommy Cornell and Wolf Hawkins. There will be some unknown faces at the very bottom of the card that have considerable talent.

We hope you'll be tuning in for our next show, and choosing TCW over SWF for our April PPV Event,"Where Angels Fear to Tread" this Sunday night."

Not his fault or anything, just stuff he had left unfinished that needed to play itself out on TV before I could really start to put my own stamp on things. How could I properly position people when I didn’t know of they’d be with us two years later, after I’d made them a star? This is, at its heart, a traditional, old-school, company. Absolutely brilliant stuff so far. Can't wait to start predicting and "watching" the shows! :D

Thanks for the comment! I'm excited to get rolling with the shows, too. Shouldn't be long now.:)

If Joel wanted to keep things in house, why didn't he push Freddy Huggins through the moon?

A couple of reasons come to mind. In story, he's been sent to PSW, backstage it could be an issue of character staleness. In game, it could be an issue of a stat-cap keeping him from developing. In reality, it could be because I've never once been able to connect with him as a character for whatever reason and as a result never find anything to do with him.

Any and all could apply.

:)
