World Wrestling Federation

-Following last Sunday's inaugural In Your House pay-per-view, we come to you live on Monday night for WWF Prime Time Wrestling from the Kiel Auditorium in St. Louis Missouri. There's sure to be some roadblocks as we continue along the road to WrestleMania! Make sure you catch all of the fall-out from In Your House.

-The brand new WWF President, The Million Dollar Man, has told us that he is not pleased with the way he was treated by WWF World Heavyweight Champion Sgt. Slaughter during the match while he was the referee. Therefore he has announced that Slaughter will defend the WWF World Heavyweight Title tonight on Prime Time Wrestling against none other than Jake 'The Snake' Roberts! This match has major In Your House repercussions as the winner of this match will head to WrestleMania to face Hulk Hogan!

-A week ago we saw six man tag team action where Big Bossman, Ricky Steamboat and Jimmy Snuka defeated The Heenan Family. This week we are going to see more six man tag team action as the three members of The Heenan Family step into the ring with Big Bossman and his new partners for this evening: The Headshrinkers. The new team managed by Lou Albano are definitely unpredictable. What will both teams have in store for this one? Make sure you tune in and find out!

-The Undertaker will be in action as he steps in the ring to take on The Texas Tornado. The Tornado has been on a bit of a losing streak here lately. Can he break that streak against the Deadman?

-The Million Dollar Man has promised more surprises and more matches to be lined up for WrestleMania! Also Randy Savage and Hulk Hogan will both be in the building! That is definitely a powder keg waiting to explode! What is going to happen as we roll into St. Louis? Make sure you tune in and find out!

World Championship Wrestling

-As the WWF gets set for pay-per-view, World Championship Wrestling has one more episode of Saturday Night to go until WrestleWar 1991 and it is sure to be explosive!

-A big, six-man main event is sure to be the highlight as The Steiner Brothers team up with Lex Luger to take on the evil genius Kevin Sullivan, his ally One Man Gang and Luger's opponent for WrestleWar Dan Spivey. All have something to gain from a victory this close to pay-per-view, but who will come out on top?

-Championship gold will also be on the line this Saturday Night as "Z-Man" Tom Zenk takes on former WCW World Television champion Arn Anderson in a lumberjack match. The stipulation might even the odds at ringside, but will it stop "The Enforcer" from gaining an advantage some other way?

-Following a solid performance on Main Event against Owen Hart, the deranged Cactus Jack makes his Saturday Night debut against Ranger Ross. Ross is a little more experienced than Owen Hart, but will he be able to match up to the crazed Cactus?

-Elsewhere on the show, Sting and Ric Flair will talk about the historic WarGames match set to main event WrestleWar, Big Josh takes on one of the Master Blasters, The Fabulous Freebirds take on The Lightning Express and Rick Rude talks about his match with El Gigante. With Saturday Night airing just an hour or so before the PPV, this is a night of wrestling you surely can't miss!

Slightly later than planned, but I really enjoyed your In Your House show write-up!

When I read the first ending to Savage/Hogan, I did a double take, then I scrolled down further... Randy just can't beat Hogan. Nice work.

But at the end of the day he was unable to do it. He was unable to keep Hulk Hogan's shoulders pinned for a count of three just as he was unable to do that at WrestleMania V. He says that beating Hulk Hogan had become an obsession for him. And right now he wants to call that man down to the ring to stand in front of him. But then as he thought more about it, he made the decision to do what he is going to do right now. Savage extends a hand toward Hogan and says that last night you were the better person. Last night you won against me at In Your House. Hogan looks to the crowd and the crowd doesn't know how to respond to this. Some of them tell him to do it and others tell him not to trust Savage. Finally, Hogan reaches a hand out and takes the hand of Savage. After a handshake, Savage yanks Hogan so that they are nose-to-nose. Ramon catches Costello in a cross body attempt and throws him back with a fall away slam. Ramon drops down and slaps the back of Costello's head arrogantly. A single win is given each time a person scores the most predictions right in a given show. Wrestling Observer Newsletter

World Championship Wrestling

-It's pay-per-view time for World Championship Wrestling as professional wrestling goes to War! WrestleWar 1991 will be coming to you live from Phoenix, AZ!

-The main event has been talked about for weeks - WarGames. Sting, Brian Pillman and The Steiner Brothers will take on the Four Horsemen in one of wrestling's most unforgiving matches. It's going to be bloody, it's going to be brutal and it's going to be one of the closest contests in recent history. Will Stinger and company finally put the Horsemen in their place, or will WCW's most decorated stable triumph once again?

-Another much talked-about match at WrestleWar 1991 is the WCW United States Heavyweight title match between Lex Luger and Dan Spivey. With Luger aiming to successfully defend the title for the first time this year, Spivey will have a real match on his hands. But what role will Stan Hansen play in proceedings?

-WCW World Tag Team titles will also be on the line this Saturday as champions Doom take on the team that answered their open challenge - WCW newcomers The Destruction Crew. Ron Simmons and Butch Reed have proven themselves to be excellent champions, but Wayne Bloom and Mike Enos are talented wrestlers in their own right and will be a tough challenge for Doom.

-Rivalries come and go in professional wrestling all the time, but feuds like the one between Larry Zbyszko and Junkyard Dog need something special to bring them to an end. With a Dog Collar match set for WrestleWar there is a good chance that the loser of this rivalry will be out of action for some time to come. The "Living Legend" wants revenge after JYD not only "injured" him towards the end of 1990, but also defeated him at the last Clash of the Champions. The Dog would consider the collar match his speciality, but who will come out on top in this high-risk contest?

-Elsewhere on the show, El Gigante takes on Rick Rude, Davey Boy Smith will make his first WCW appearance, The Fabulous Freebirds take on The Young Pistols, and The York Foundation's Michael Wallstreet takes on Dustin Rhodes. This is World Championship Wrestling, this is the first PPV of the year, this is a night of wrestling you surely can't miss!

Both men focused on technical wrestling, albeit with a few brawls thrown in for good measure, and the contest was very open throughout. While Alexandra York took the time to reveal to the announce team that she had planned a victory to within eight minutes, even her computer could not have predicted the reason the match came to an end. El Gigante, as has been the case of late, got in some good offence and looked dangerous at several points in the match against his "Ravishing" opponent. Rude seemed a little more uncomfortable fighting the giant than he did mocking him from afar, and several times during the match he exited the ring to get advice from Paul E Dangerously (who also took time out to wave around a fan sign saying "FI FA FO FUM! EL GIGANTE VA A CAER!"). Whatever that advice was it seemed to work, as Rick Rude managed to knock El Gigante down for the three count with one particularly stiff right hand. The fans booed, and the commentary team suspected foul play, but Rick Rude (and Paul E Dangerously) succeeded in keeping the brass knuckles hidden from the view of all but the most eagle-eyed spectactors as the referee counted to three at 8:50. </div></div></div></div></div></div></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><strong>[C-]</strong></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></blockquote><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div></div></div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div></div></div></div></div></div><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="37895" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><div style="text-align:center;"><span>http://i754.photobucket.com/albums/xx181/jhdTEW/Diaries/WCW%20Joint/Angles/DaveyBoySmith.jpg</span></div><p></p><p></p><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> With the WCW United States title just moments away, with Lex Luger set to defend the belt against "Dangerous" Dan Spivey, the instantly recognisable sound of Rule Britannia hit the arena sound system! A very good match, Luger and Spivey showed their animosity in a hard-hitting fight that rarely ventured into wrestling territory. This was a brawl, plain and simple, but that didn't stop it from being an entertaining encounter. With Stan Hansen at ringside there was always the possibility of shenanigans, but guest referee Davey Boy Smith kept order well and apart from the odd boot to a downed Luger, Hansen was very restricted in his influence. The same can't be said about Spivey, however, who proved himself more than capable of matching Lex Luger despite some fans' concern. Brian Pillman and Sid Vicious started things off in the ring, echoing the match that took place last month at the Clash. After the first two minutes were up it was revealed that Arn Anderson had won the coin toss and he was next into the match making it a 2-on-1 against Brian Pillman. Flyin' Brian took a lot of punishment over the next two minutes until Scott Steiner rushed in to even things up. The next to enter the ring was Barry Windham whose presence saw Brian Pillman double-teamed once again while Sid fought with Scott Steiner. Rick Steiner turned up as the sixth man to enter the cage and quickly went to the aid of his brother. With just two men left to enter, no one was surprised to see Ric Flair emerge from the entranceway to, once again, turn the match in the Horsemen's favour. Opening this episode of Main Event was a quick recap video from WrestleWar 1991, including the Four Horsemen's defeat in the WarGames match, Rick Rude's victory over El Gigante and Dan Spivey's controversial defeat at the hands of Lex Luger for the WCW United States title.

In a backstage segment
Teddy Long
reminded fans that his clients, WCW World Tag Team champions
Doom
, had won a fantastic match against The Destruction Crew at WrestleWar 1991. Claiming that the victory over Bloom and Enos proved once again that Doom were the most dominant tag team in professional wrestling, Teddy Long said that WCW Executive Dusty Rhodes might as well just make Ron Simmons and Butch Reed lifetime champions because no one was going to stop them!

Simmons and Reed would remain in the limelight for the opening bout of
Doom vs The Renegade Warriors
in a Non-Title match. With a solid victory over The Destruction Crew under their belt already, it didn't take long for Doom to add another victory to their record. This one-sided encounter was ended by a
Diving Shoulder Block
from Reed at 4:38.

The second match of the night was an entertaining technical encounter that was arguably the match of the show.
Michael Wallstreet vs Steve Armstrong
might not have had the star quality of a top-rated match, but it definitely had the talent. Wallstreet won the hard fought encounter at 5:01 with a
Samoan Drop
.

In a new segment for WCW Main Event, entitled
Missy Hyatt's Hotline Corner,
Missy talked about a number of rumours surrounding the near-future of World Championship Wrestling. This week the focus was on a potential rematch between Dustin Rhodes and Steve Austin and also the possibility that Harley Race has arranged a World title match against Sting for his monstrous client Vader. As always, there was nothing definite about Hyatt's rumours – but a call to WCW's hotline will surely tell you more!

One Armstrong, Steve, had already been involved in a solid wrestling match earlier in the show and lost, and this time it was the turn of Brad to face the same outcome.
Larry Zbysko vs Brad Armstrong
was another good wrestling match, although Zbyszko seemed more in control of the match than Wallstreet had. Despite a decent fightback from Armstrong towards the end of the match, a
LarryLand Dreamer
at 6:33 ended this contest in the “Living Legend's” favour.

After his match
Larry Zbyszko
grabbed a microphone and said that, having put the Junkyard Dog out of his misery at WrestleWar 1991, he was moving on to bigger things in WCW! He didn't reveal what those bigger things would be, but no doubt the “Living Legend” will make all clear sooner rather than later!

Coming off the back of a solid, albeit losing, effort against Lex Luger at WrestleWar 1991, it was no surprise to see Dan Spivey in high spirits in this slightly disappointing main event.
Dan Spivey vs Tommy Rich
was not the match it could have been, but one person who won't mind is Dan Spivey who fought well against Rich to just about edge this encounter. A
Spivey Spike
ended a contest that could easily have gone the other way, with a 10:29 pinfall confirming "Dangerous" Dan's victory.
[D+]

Before the show left the air, “Dangerous” Dan Spivey's manager/mentor
Stan Hansen
cut a promo taunting Lex Luger and explaining that he got away with the US Heavyweight belt at WrestleWar 1991 but every time he fights, Luger gets that little bit closer to defeat. Whether it takes one week, one month or one year, Stan Hansen said he'll see to it that someone, anyone, gets the United States belt away from Lex Luger!

PREDICTION CONTESTS

jhd1 and I have decided to split the prediction contests into two, so there will be two eligible prizes at the end: one for WWF and one for WCW. The prediction contests will run from our first shows until the end of March in the game. The prizes have yet to be determined for either side. A single win is given each time a person scores the most predictions right in a given show. The most wins at the end of March is declared the winner in each category.

This week's winner in the WCW Category is: Beejus!

World Wrestling Federation

-It is time, once again, for the preview to WWF Prime Time Wrestling! This week we come to you live from the Cow Palace in San Francisco, California. We are nearly one full month away from WWF WrestleMania and the matches are beginning to take shape.

-The main event should be an amazing match even though it is non title. That match will feature the WWF Intercontinental Champion Mr. Perfect as he takes on the #1 contender to the WWF World Heavyweight Title Hulk Hogan. Both of these men should have big matches at WrestleMania. Last week, The Heenan Family attacked Hulk Hogan in the backstage area. How will Hulk Hogan be this week? What effect will that have on this match?

-Last week, the new WWF President The Million Dollar Man signed a handicap match for this WWF Prime Time Wrestling. He will be teaming up with Virgil against a newly respectful of the fans Macho King Randy Savage. Can Randy Savage survive a two on one match? Will The Million Dollar Man add any other stipulations to this match?

-We will be hearing from wrestlers like Hulk Hogan, The Rockers, Power & Glory and more on this edition of Prime Time Wrestling. Also in action will be The Warlord, Jake Roberts, Brooklyn Brawler and more!

World Championship Wrestling

-We are hot on the heels of WCW Wrestlewar 1991! All of the fallout from that show comes tonight right here on WCW Saturday Night. We come to you from Cameron Indoor Stadium, home of the Duke Blue Devils, in Durham, North Carolina.

-Last Saturday night at Wrestlewar 1991, Nikita Koloff made his return to World Championship Wrestling by attacking both members of The Steiner Brothers. He also joined Rick Rude and Paul E. Dangerously to make a definite Dangerous Alliance between the three. On this night, Koloff and Rude will team up to take on the WCW United States Tag Team Champions The Steiner Brothers. The Steiners have definitely been pairing up for longer than Rude and Koloff but there is the ever-present presence of Paul E. Dangerously at ringside. Will that make the difference in this match?

-Beautiful Bobby Eaton has been wrapped up in a strong feud with the York Foundation. But on this night he will be battling someone in another stable. That is a member of the Four Horsemen: Barry Windham. Both of these men have been successful in tag team wrestling and some in singles wrestling. Which man will be successful on this night and head to the pay window?

-Junkyard Dog lost a big Dog Collar Match last Saturday night at Wrestlewar 1991 against Larry Zbyszko. But he cannot allow that loss to linger on his psyche. Not when he faces the ever dangerous and mysterious Dr. X. The masked man is looking for a victory here on WCW Saturday Night. But will JYD give him the thump?

-We will also be hearing from Sting, celebrating his team's victory in War Games. I am sure he will also have some words to say about the attack by Rick Rude and Nikita Koloff.

-Plus The IV Horsemen speak about their loss at War Games, Lex Luger and Dan Spivey will be in the building. We will also have a six man tag team match here on WCW Saturday Night. Make sure you tune in at 6:05 PM EST on the Superstation TBS!

Crush vs. Bob Backlund

Comments: This one I find to be a tossup. Backlund could use the win back after losing at IYH, but a Crush win puts him up in the standings. I go with Bob because Crush is just the third wheel of Demolition at this point.

Demolition vs. Al Burke and Brian Costello

Comments: Squash.

Rick Martel vs. Koko B. Ware

Comments: Squash 2.

The Million Dollar Man and Virgil vs. Randy Savage
