In a match that had excellent in-ring action and a good crowd, Austin Aries defeated Tyler Black in a 1 vs 1 - Two out of Three Falls match in 20:57 by two straight falls, with the final fall happening by submission with a Last Chancery after blatantly cheating.

After the match Tyler Black picks himself up and walks over to Aries and offers his hand as a sign of respect. Aries seems to think about it but eventually takes Black's hand and shakes it, Tyler however has other ideas as he uses the handshake to hit Austin with a clothesline and knock him off his feet.

Storm nods his head towards the title and says something to Hardy who nods in return. Storm takes a sip of his beer and smiles as Jeff turns to leave he cracks it over the back of the World's champion head. Jeff is laid out, bleeding from a cut and covered in the beer as Storm looks pleased with his work.

Storm, the diehard defender of the company was left out in the cold when the time came for the fans to recognize his hard work. He says they turned their backs on him so as far as he figures the least he can do is return the favour. He tells Jeff that he has nothing personal against him but that he's simply in his way to get the World title.

Jeff seems to be looking for revenge as he pulls Storm out of the ring and slams him onto the concrete as he pulls a table out from under the ring. Hardy sets up the table and throws James Storm onto it before Jeff climbs back into the ring and climbs to the top rope. The crowd goes wild and cheers as Jeff hits a swanton bomb through the table.

In a match that had excellent in-ring action and great heat from the audience, Bobby Roode defeated Chris Sabin in 23:33 by submission with a Fujiwara Armbar after interference from A Mystery Woman. Bobby Roode makes defence number 1 of his TNA Heavyweight title.

Rating: 87

Roode seems utterly confused by the interference in his match but never one to look a gift horse in the mouth he grabs his title and holds it high on top of the ramp as Sabin frustratedly looks on from the ring.

Monday, 3rd week of January

Jeff Hardy is seen pulling his gear out of his car in the parking lot. He keeps his title over his shoulder as he closes the trunk and takes a step back. As soon as he does it a mac truck comes screaming through the parking lot and crashes at full speed into Jeff's car, embedding itself in the drivers side of the car. James Storm climbs out of the truck and tells Jeff how disappointed he is that he wasn't in the car yet. Jeff angrily charges Storm and tackles him to the ground as he starts to pound on him. Hogan and a security team, alerted by the large crash run out to the parking lot and separate the two. Hogan tells Storm and Hardy that he'll have to address this later on in the night.

Samoa Joe comes out to the ring and mentions how last night he proved that he is not only the most dominant star on Retribution, he's also Retribution's reckoning. He challenges anyone in the locker room who would dare to face him. In response the newly debuted John Hennigan comes out onto the ramp and tells Joe that he may be a force of destruction but that doesn't scare him because "we don't have forces of destruction in the palace of wisdom".

In an extremely short match, Madison Rayne & Gail Kim defeated T'n'T in 5:01 when Gail Kim defeated Brooke Tessmacher by pinfall with a Hurricarana.

Ken Anderson is being interviewed about his recent beatdown at the hands of Samoa Joe. He tells Joey Styles that he's not feeling 100% after the attack but that he wishes Hennigan all the luck in the world against the Samoan Submission machine. His interview is interrupted however as Ethan Carter III demands that Anderson get out there and continue to fight and stop wasting company money. Anderson glares at him and explains that nothing he can do would be a bigger waste of money than giving EC3 a contract. Ethan tells Anderson he's lucky that he has a match to compete in and to watch his back.
