News of the Mid Atlantic

*Grimm So Cal Wrestling has declared War on MAW, to great disapponitment from Sam Keith.

*Before the show, Hollywood Bret Starr played a prank on Findlay O'Farraday, nearly leading to a fight breaking out between the egotistical youngster and the hot-headed meathead. As a result, Starr was left off the card for the Rip Chord Invitational.

*Jean Cattley has been seen backstage helping out The Architect; it is believed that Cattley has taken the youngster under his wing as a protege.

*Industry experts have pointed out MAW youngsters Copperhead and Robbie Wright as workers who could be some of the next big things in professional wrestling. Some believe this could lead to the young talents moving to the big leagues sooner than later.

Going with some conservative picks. NBT they may be, but I'm not putting my money on Copperhead or Wright just yet.

The show is completely written, so I'm going to call this an approximately 24 hour warning for predictions. After the show, there'll be some delay between this and the next post, as I'll be out of town for my girlfriend's birthday.

Quick Picks (Faces First)

RCI Quarter Final Match

"The Anarchist" Citizen X vs. "The Red Avenger" Copperhead

Citizen X is solidly more over in this incarnation, he should get the victory

RCI Quarter Final Match

"High Roller" Keith Vegas vs. "Cool Hand" Casey Valentine

Vegas has been a jobber for years now, so the "Cool Hand" will get the victory

RCI Quarter Final Match

Miller Fforde vs. "Mean" Jean Cattley

Mean Jean is way more over, and even if you are playing him as head booker, he'll get a win here

RCI Quarter Final Match

"The Southern Wrecker" Findlay O'Farraday vs. "The King of Charisma" Robbie Wright

There is usually a surpise upset, and Robbie Wright is no slouch and a Next Big Thing who's solidly over. I think he'll take this one.

Tag Team Championship Match

The Aces of Mayhem (Max Mayhem & Ace Youngblood) challenge The Dynamite Express (Syd Collier & Cameron Jones)

The Dynamite Express have Explosive Potential, BANG [insert diamond cutter]!

RCI Semi Final Match

Keith Vegas/Casey Valentinevs. Findlay O'Farraday/Robbie Wright

Despite the Face/Heel clash, I think this will be a solid enough match.

RCI Semi Final Match

Citizen X/Copperhead vs. Miller Fforde/Jean Cattley

There's a decent chance Mean Jean is player controlled, which takes him out of competition for this tournament early.

Rip Chord Invitational Championship

Citizen X/Copperhead/Keith Vegas/Casey Valentine vs. Miller Fforde/Jean Cattley/Findlay O'Farraday/Robbie Wright

Robbie Wright gets the dub here. It'll either be him or O'Farraday, and Findlay has already won Sam Keith and been a champion -- so it goes to Robbie Wright.

Live Results from Stanley Hall in January 2013

SAM KEITH

Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to Mid Atlantic Wrestling and Stanley Hall! Thank you all

for coming out tonight for the 8th annual Rip Chord Invitational. Tonight is a night of

tradition, specifically the tradition of winners and of evolution. Winners of this

tournament have gone on to bigger and better things, like two time winner Mainstream

Hernandez, who now competes in Puerto Rico at FREEDOM Carribean Wrestling. Or the

powerful American Patriot, who has moved on to New York City Wrestling as Brandon

Smith. Two years ago, East Coast legend Steve Flash came to MAW and he took home the

trophy. And two of our winners, two-time winner and current Mid Atlantic Champion

Cameron Vessey and his tag team partner "Cool Hand" Casey Valentine are still in MAW.

This is a tournament that does great things for great wrestlers and tonight, another

name will join that illustrious list. Welcome to the Rip Chord Invitational everyone.

Enjoy the show.

The Aces of Mayhem (Ace Youngblood & Max Mayhem) vs. The Dynamite Express (Syd Collier & Cameron Jones)
