Superstars Week 1 June 2012

 

Damien Sandow versus Yoshi Tatsu

 

In a swift and easy match, Sandow put Tatsu away by submission.

 

We then cut to CM Punk who is in the ring talking about how he will dominate both Bryan and Kane for the world title on Smackdown. He talked about how Bryan was his biggest threat, and how he would dominate him like he did Katie Vick.

 

Rating: 92(A)

 

Reks and Hawkins vs. Otunga and Mahal

 

In a quick match, Hawkins and Reks pick up the win by elbow drop.

Raw Week 1

 

We open Monday Night Raw with Kane in the ring. He talks about how Punk insulted him on Superstars. He says that at the PPV, he will walk out with Punk’s title firmly around his waist. Punk then comes out, and says that Kane has no chance and that no matter what, he will retain his title.

 

Rating: 87

 

Drew McIntyre vs Sin Cara

 

In a big match for both men, Drew and Sin Cara both shone through. However, Drew ended up nullifying Sin Cara’s high flying by ending it with a Future Shock DDT.

 

Rating: 80

 

Zack Ryder vs Lord Tensai

 

Tensai used this match to show he deserved to be in line for the WWE title. He dominated Ryder throughout this match, and ended up winning it fairly quickly.

 

Rating: 61

 

After the match, Brodus Clay runs down to the ring. The fans thought he was going to save Ryder, but Brodus ended up destroying him. He then picked up a microphone and said he was sick of being treated like a comedy act.

 

Rating: 71

 

Brodus Clay vs Christian

 

After the Ryder beatdown, Christian came down to the ring and took it straight to Brodus. However, Brodus ended up taking advantage after 4 minutes. Brodus won the match after hitting Christian with a chair behind the referee’s back.

 

Rating: 64

 

The Uso’s vs Primo and Epico

 

In a quick match, Primo and Epico came out on top.

Kofi Kingston vs Cody Rhodes for the Intercontinental Title

 

Kofi got an opportunity to further his singles career in this match, and he did not disappoint. Kofi put up a fight, and was always one move from winning the match at all times. However, Cody saw the writing on the wall and got himself counted out so he could retain his title.

 

Rating: 84

 

After the match, Vickie comes down to the ring and announces that at the next PPV, Cody will defend his title against Kofi Kingston.

 

Rating: 73

 

Michael McGillicutty vs Kane

 

In a very short match, Kane proved why he was challenging Punk for the title.

 

Rating: 55

 

After the match, the other challenger for the title in Daniel Bryan came down to ringside, and ended up getting into a brawl with Kane before his matchup.

 

Rating: 87

 

Daniel Bryan vs Jack Swagger

 

This match proved why Bryan deserved a title shot. Even if he was at 50 percent, he still showed off against Jack Swagger. He ended up making Swagger tap out. Jack Swagger showed improvement in Flying and Performance skills.

 

Rating: 75

 

The Big Show came out next, talking about how he would be the next World Heavyweight Champion no matter what Sheamus had up his sleeve.

 

Rating: 86

 

Big Show vs Mark Henry

 

This one was a match between the two biggest guys on the WWE roster. Show and Henry were very even throughout the match. Near the end, Sheamus came out and took out his next challenger. In the end, Show still came out on top.

 

Rating: 80

 

Sheamus vs Ryback

 

Much like the last match, these two were very even throughout. In the end, the world champ walked out strong with a victory over Ryback.

 

Rating: 80

 

Cena and CM Punk vs Miz and Jericho

 

This match was a really good one, as both sides took control at some point during the match. In the end, Punk and Cena stood victorious after Miz and Jericho clashed.

 

Rating: 86

 

Sheamus comes out and tells Show that he wants him in a Last Man Standing match, so he can show him that he is the best big man in the WWE.

 

Rating: 91

BREAKING NEWS!

 

CM Punk, the new booker for WWE has decided to call up both Brodie Lee, who will be working under the name Luke Harper and Kassius Ohno. They will paired together as K.O.B.L.T. In other news, on Smackdown, Big Show and Sheamus will both be competing.

Good luck with this, but I want to give you a tip. There are two parts to a successful dynasty; writing quality and presentation. Readers aren't going to go through the trouble to look up the June 2012 roster, so you may want to put forth the effort of getting some information together for your readers.

Didn't even notice the names. I just made it up on the spot. I just didn't feel like putting down the roster because it was late at night.

Smackdown Week 1

 

Drew McIntyre vs Santino Marella- US Title

 

We start off the show with a United States title match. Throughout the match, Drew kept taking shortcuts to gain an advantage in his first title shot in the year 2012. At one point in the match, Drew went outside of the ring and grabbed a chair. As he threw it into the ring, the ref went over to the chair, which enabled Drew to hit Santino with a pair of brass knuckles. After the brass knuckles shot, Drew picked up Santino and hit the Future Shock DDT.

 

Rating: 67

 

After a commercial break, we see the Diva’s champ, Layla in the ring. She starts talking about Eve, and how she will have to earn a Diva’s title shot by beating her in the middle of the ring.

 

Rating: 62

 

Layla vs Eve

 

Eve makes her way down to the ring, and this contest gets underway. Eve was very aggressive knowing that a title shot would be given to her at No Way Out if she won. She fought hard, and ended up coming out on top after Layla jumped off the top rope and missed. She then hit her Swinging Neckbreaker and picked up the win.

 

Rating: 63

 

Cody Rhodes and Daniel Bryan vs Kofi Kingston and Kane

 

This was a matchup that featured competitors from two matches at No Way Out. Kofi and Bryan started out in the ring, and put on quite a show. A highlight of the early goings was when Kofi and Bryan both hit suicide dives in stereo on their opponents at NWO. After that, the match slowed down. Kane was tagged in and wore down both Cody and Bryan. Kofi came in and won the match with an S.O.S to Daniel Bryan.

 

Rating: 78

 

After the match, Kofi was celebrating when Cody came from behind and took out Kofi. He beat down Kofi and hit both the Disaster Kick and Cross Rhodes. He then posed with his Intercontinental title.

 

Rating: 82

 

Brodus Clay vs Tyson Kidd

 

In a very short encounter, Clay dominated Kidd from bell to bell.

 

Rating: 46

 

After the match ended, Clay grabbed a microphone and said he would not be called the Funkasaurus anymore.

 

Rating: 64

 

The Uso’s vs Primo and Epico vs Tensai and Swagger

 

This match was made to determine who would be number one contender to the tag team belts. Epico and Primo were fully eliminated, while only Jey was eliminated. The Uso’s won the match and became number one contenders.

 

Rating: 64

 

Sheamus vs The Miz vs John Cena vs Mark Henry

This match was a showcase of some of the top WWE superstars. Sheamus and Henry mainly went at it, while The Miz and Cena went at it. Sheamus seemed to be in control throughout the whole match. After Sheamus and The Miz went outside the ring to fight, Henry took advantage. He saw that Cena was laid out, and ended up hitting a splash on Cena to get the win.

 

Rating: 84

 

After the match, Henry got on the mic and said he wanted in the match with Big Show and Sheamus. He also claimed he was sick and tired of watching everyone that has less talent than him getting shots at the title.

 

Rating: 87

 

Big Show vs Jericho

 

This match was a clash of former tag team partners. They picked up right where their rivalry left off, and that was a brawl. Big Show ended up winning the match with a KO Punch and cementing his status as the number one contender.

 

Rating: 78

 

CM Punk vs Dolph Ziggler

This match was a great one. Both Punk and Ziggler are known for how good of a wrestler they are. It also helped their match that they had great chemistry. Punk got distracted after Kane’s music started playing, which enabled Dolph to hit a Zig Zag and get the win.

 

Rating: 86

 

After the match, we see Daniel Bryan rush out of the backstage area and lay the boots to Punk. He locks in the No Lock on Punk, only for Punk to get out of it. After that, the brawl was hard to track as they fought all around ringside.

 

Rating: 86

Superstars Week 2

 

Alex Riley vs Hunico

 

 

In a short match, Hunico defeats Alex Riley with El Incognito Especial.

 

Rating: 60

 

We then cut to a hype video which features Kofi and Cody’s feud over the past week.

 

Rating: 80

 

Jey Uso vs The Great Khali

 

In a match that had some good action but not much heat, Jey Uso defeated Great Khali with a Samoan Spike.

 

Rating: 59

 

AJ Lee vs Eve in a Bra and Panties match

 

In a match with good action but not enough heat, Eve won when AJ was stripped.

 

Rating: 71

Raw Week 2

 

PRE SHOW:

 

Michael McGillicutty defeats Jack Swagger.

 

Rating: 61

 

Antonio Cesaro defeats Heath Slater.

K.O.B.L.T defeats Jinder Mahal and Curt Hawkins.

 

Rating: 52

The Rock defeats Darren Young.

MAIN SHOW:

 

We start off Raw with Smackdown GM Teddy Long inside the ring. He makes the WHC triple threat match official and wishes all three men luck going into the match.

Rating: 78

 

15 Man Battle Royal to determine #1 Contender for US title for next week

 

This match was filled with possible superstars in the next few years. One of the most notable men who did not make the final four was Mason Ryan. He eliminated both of the Uso’s and JTG. The final four consisted of Alex Riley, Daniel Bryan, Ryback and Curt Hawkins. Up to this point, Ryback had the most eliminations with five. Ryback and Riley were eliminated by Hawkins. Bryan then dumped Hawkins and earned a US title shot next week.

 

Rating: 73

 

We then get interrupted by a video showing the FCW Heavyweight belt and three SWAT uniforms on a bench. We then hear a voice say justice is coming to the WWE.

 

Rating: 35

 

Trent Barreta vs Epico

 

In a match that was used as filler, Trent Barreta picked up the win after 7:21.

 

Rating: 55

 

Zack Ryder vs Drew McIntyre © vs Kofi Kingston vs Cody Rhodes- US Title

 

This match not only cemented Drew as a fighting champion, but it also furthered Kofi and Cody’s feud. They completely disregarded the other two men and tore each other apart. That left Drew and Zack in the ring, where Drew dismantled the Long Island Iced Z. Drew picked up the win with the Future Shock DDT.

 

Rating: 78

 

After the match, Drew gets a mic and talks about how his opponent next week Daniel Bryan is nothing but a wannabe superstar. He says he should be in Bryan’s spot for the WWE Title.

Rating: 72

 

Bryan then came out and started talking about how Drew got lucky in getting a US title shot in the first place. He talks about how he fought for his spot, while Vince gave Drew his. He said that the better wrestler would prevail and that would be him.

 

Rating: 75

 

Brodus Clay vs David Otunga vs Hunico vs Tyson Kidd vs Primo

 

In yet another filler match, Brodus dominated all four competitors and picked up the win in 6:47.

 

Rating: 68

 

AJ Lee and Alicia Fox vs Beth Phoenix and Natalya

 

This match was made to showcase four upstart divas looking for a break in the business. In the end, Natalya and Beth picked up the win after a Glam Slam to Alicia Fox.

 

Rating: 70

 

Sheamus and Christian vs The Miz and Dolph Ziggler

 

This match was amazing from bell to bell. All four men looked to cement their spot in the company. Miz and Christian just broke through to the main event, and proved they should stay there. Dolph pulled off yet another great match with a world champ. In the end, Sheamus put away Miz with a Celtic Cross.

 

Rating: 92

 

Backstage, we see Brodus Clay lay out Daniel Bryan.

 

Rating: 79

 

Note: Brodus Clay’s heel turn was a complete success.

 

Zack Ryder vs Yoshi Tatsu

 

This match was aired during commercial time, and despite being in two matches, Ryder picked up the win.

 

(I forgot that Ryder was already in a match.)

 

Rating: 69

 

Chris Jericho vs John Cena

 

In Chris Jericho’s quest to become a world champ, he came upon the face of the WWE. He and Cena had a great battle, full of momentum shifts. In the end, Cena went for a AA, only for Y2J to slip out and hit a Codebreaker for the victory.

 

Rating: 91

 

CM Punk vs Kane

In yet another great match on Raw, we saw CM Punk overcome the devil’s favorite demon Kane with a GTS.

 

Rating: 90

 

After the match, Triple H comes out. He talks about how he wants to become a full time competitor again, and how he would come out on top at NWO when he faces John Cena. Cena came out and said he would be happy to end up being Triple H’s last match, as he would be the one to retire the Game.

Rating: 96

 

Big Show vs Mark Henry

 

Considering the past matches, this one was very underwhelming. These two giants brawled all around ringside until the WHC champ, Sheamus came out and took out both men for a double DQ.

 

Rating: 78

FINAL RATING: 76

 

(I am surprised by the final rating considering there were four 90+ rated segments in the last seven segments.)

According to WWE's new booker, Brodus Clay has the most momentum anyone could ever have. He is currently only behind the Undertaker in momentum. A title reign is also in store for this big giant.

Smackdown Week 2

 

Brodus Clay vs JTG

 

In yet another Brodus Clay win, he put JTG away in 7:08.

 

Rating: 50

 

After the match, we find both Cena and HHH in the ring. Like every single John Cena feud, these two trade childish insults back and forth.

 

Rating: 95

 

K.O.B.L.T vs Hunico and Camacho

 

In only their second match, K.O.B.L.T impressed yet again when Luke Harper put away Camacho with a Running Big Boot.

 

Rating: 53

 

Bryan then comes down to the ring and explains how he will become the United States champion, and then win the World Heavyweight Championship at once.

 

Rating: 81

 

Zack Ryder vs Ryback vs Drew McIntyre

 

In Drew’s first non-title match since winning the gold, he still came out the victor. What surprised everyone was that Drew ended up pinning Ryback and making a huge statement.

 

Rating: 71

 

John Cena vs The Miz

 

In what was a rehash of their feud in the past, these two went at it. Cena was in full control, until Triple H came down to ringside and took out Cena. He ended up hitting four Pedigrees. This enabled Miz to hit the Skull Crushing Finale and pick up the win.

 

Rating: 85

 

After the match, we see the effects of the assault by Triple H, as Cena is checked on by the EMT’s.

 

Rating: 82

 

Triple H vs Kane

 

Kane’s bad luck continued here, as he faced Triple H in his in ring return to Smackdown. Triple H proved he had not lost a step as he ended up wiping the floor with Kane, like he had just done to Cena.

 

Rating: 92

 

After the match, CM Punk takes advantage and attacks Kane in a full on assault as he hit the GTS, and then held up his WWE championship.

Rating: 91

 

CM Punk vs Dolph Ziggler

 

Dolph gets yet another match against another world champ, and he failed once more. Punk was focused the whole time trying to prove he deserved to hold the championship.

 

Rating: 86

 

Big Show and Christian vs Jericho and Mark Henry

 

Show and Henry collided before their title match, while Christian and Jericho carried the match. Whenever the big guys collided, it was a punchfest. In the end, Jericho made Christian submit with the Walls.

 

Rating: 82

 

Daniel Bryan vs Sheamus

 

This match was made to show off one of the challengers for Punk at No Way Out and to show off for his opponent on Raw, Drew McIntyre. The whole match everyone knew that Bryan would beat Sheamus and get his revenge for Wrestlemania. He ended up making Sheamus tap with the No Lock.

 

Rating: 77
