[C-Verse '14] Awesome Wrestling Championship

Recommended Posts

<CENTER><table width="60%"><tr><td>

I always loved wrestling.

I remembered when I watched a live SWF Supreme TV taping here in New Orleans, and as I watched guys like Rich Money, Angry Gilmore, Jack Bruce, Remo, I was like: I want to be part of this. I want to become a wrestler.

But there's a problem... I don't have the physical condition to do it, my cardio is horrible. So I was starting to let my wrestling dream fade away. Then... it striked me. If I couldn't be at a big wrestling company, I could create my own.

So, thanks to a lot of wishful thinking and $10.000 of cash that I've inherited from my dead gramps, I've decided to create my own federation. Awesome Wrestling Championship was born.

Boy, this is going to be a beautful trainwreck.

The roster was small, but dependable. Sawyer will be the kayfabe owner of AWC. I have already some plans to make him integral to the federation's first main feud.

Paige and Theocott would help me avaliate and book the events. Both are at late 30's, they have some good years of experience at this business, and that will be importante at our future.

Well, since I don't have TCW's or SWF's financial security, I should also think at which place would be cost-effective at the beginning of our operation here in New Orleans. After a couple of days, I've found a perfect place: a gated parking lot under the I-55. I just hope the rest of the team don't mind it.

AWC's pieces are slowly getting together.

I've always found Smooth to be underrated and Avatar difficult to push.

I don't actually think he will win, but it would be cool. Blue for champ!

Thanks for the views and predictions, everybody. The first show is already written, and I've already had simulated till May, so there's still time for more predictions.

I feel like i'm planning better the feuds and cards, but I still want to know how to properly build momentum to my workers and gain the best possible grade to my fed as possible (AWC is a 0 prestige / 0 momentum / 0 importance / 0 popularity fed) so, if any of you has some tips for momentum building booking, please PM me.

So, to refresh our memories, here's AWC Genesis card:

PROMO: SAWYER INTRODUCES HIMSELF

Behind the simple red curtains at the ringside, comes “Playboy” Jake Sawyer. He introduces himself as the owner of AWC. Sawyer says that tonight, we will see the first round for the AWC Championship tournament. Eight competitors selected by himself will fight for the chance to be the very first AWC Heavyweight Champion of history...

http://i.imgur.com/viFgI9N.jpg

But, out comes Arthur Dexter Bradley, showing complete cockiness. A.D.B says to Sawyer to keep the AWC belt clean and shinig, because when this stupid tourmanent ends, A.D.B will be the one with the belt raised above his head, and that's a FACT!

JACK AVATAR vs AUSTIN SMOOTH

(AWC Championship Tournament)

At the first match of the AWC Tournament bracket, Smooth started things up, with with some nice chain and mat wrestling. But soon, Avatar picked things up and got the lead. Smooth even tried a comeback, but Avatar managed to finish the fight with his signature All-American Slam.

WINNER: Jack Avatar via pinfall at 10:02 with an All-American Slam

FEARLESS BLUE vs JOJI

(AWC Championship Tournament)

Two of the most eccentric personalities here in AWC collide for the second match: the surprisingly great, high-flying, redneck, Fearless Blue versus the dreadlocked high-flying, japanese talent JOJI. Both wanted to pass to the next phase, but JOJI's lack of sharpness might have costed his match, because Blue managed to capitalize with the springboard lariat.

WINNER: Fearless Blue via pinfall at 10:27 with a Springboard Lariat

Notes: Blue and JOJI's gimmicks recieved mixed-to-positive reactions. JOJI needs a translator.

CAL SANDERS vs QUENTIN QUEEN

The veteran Cal Sanders faced the cocky rookie in Quentin Queen. The Los Angeles kid tried some offense, but the years of technical prowless on the ring gave Sanders a better edge. Sanders signed up the win with the 'Murica Frog Splash.

WINNER: Cal Sanders via pinfall at 6:41 with a 'Murica Frog Splash

Notes: Sanders went great as a “patriot”, while Queen did a decent job as a loner-type heel.

PROMO: CRUSHER AND ENCANTA TAUNT SANDERS

As Cal Sanders was celebrating at the ring, Isabella Encanta came with her client, Canadian Crusher. Isabella trash-talked Sanders, saying that all this American pride is ridiculous, because everybody knows that Canada is way better than the U.S. Isabella finished saying that if Sanders didn't agreed, why not face her client at the next month.

http://i.imgur.com/BXnlybm.jpg

Notes: Crusher and Encanta recieved a mixed-to-positive reaction with their gimmicks.

CANADIAN CRUSHER w/ Isabella Encanta vs EL MITICO JR.

The canadian powerhouse is a former Hardcore champion, so you probably know who's going to win this one. El Mítico tried some offense, when he wasn't being throw around by Crusher, but the Montreal resident dominated his opponent with a Full Nelson Slam for the pin.

WINNER: Canadian Crusher via pinfall at 6:01 with a Full Nelson Slam

JERRY MARTIN vs RAYNE MAN

AWC Championship Tournament)

Two completely different competitors: Rayne Man was your typical never-say-die babyface, while Jerry Martin acted like a psycopath. Martin tried everything ,to not just defeat, to knock out Rayne Man. When Martin finally hit his finhsing move, the Discus Punch, Rayne Man managed to kick out at 2 and ½, shocking the crazy competitor. Frustrated, Martin attacked Rayne Man with a chair in front of the referee Charles Hapstander, who called for the bell.

WINNER: Rayne Man via DQ at 10:39 with a chair shot by Jerry Martin

Notes: Match of the night. Martin shined as a psycho, while Rayne Man was decent as a face.

PROMO: MARTIN ATTACKS RAYNE

Jerry Martin keeps attacking Rayne Man with the chair and even throw him out of the ring. Martin then thows Rayne with great intensity at the steel steps, giving Rayne a cut at his forehead. Martin smiles like a mad man and leaves. (23 / E-)

ARTHUR DEXTER BRADLEY vs THOMAS MORGAN

(AWC Championship Tournament)

A.D.B went one on one with one of the most experienced wrestlers on the indy circuit. Thomas Morgan showed, as always some excellent mat wrestling, but A.D.B's high-flying skills provided some leverage to the cocky wrestler.

The fight kept open, when Morgan pulled an STF out of nowhere, almost makig A.D.B pass out, but he reaches the ropes, breaking the submission hold. Enraged by this act of "defiance", A.D.B hits a low blow in Morgan at an angle the ref can't see and hits the Samoan Spike DDT for the pin.

WINNER: Arthur Dexter Bradley via pinfall at 16:42 with a low blow followed by a Samoan Spike DDT

FINAL NOTES: Well, there goes our first step. Not really satisfied with our main event, but Martin and Rayne surprised me. Martin can have a bright future for him with us, and I'll make sure of it. Only 14 people, though... I just hope our next event goes way better than this.

I am normally a fan of graphics being included in diaries and I know you said you will add them later. That being said, I really like the layout the way it is now. It has a very clean look to it (For lack of better words).

While I'm still planning to put the worker's pics on the show, I'm glad you liked the look. I wanted something easy for the eyes of the viewers, but that still has his own identity.

EDIT: Worker's pics are in!

Yeah a sports entertainment product where no one has any popularity yet is gonna get low grades. That's probably why the main event tanked. Morgan is good in a more in ring focused federation ( Case in point my Trademark Pro Wrestling dynasty where Morgan was the main character and could routinely put on C or better matches) but he lacks popularity in the USA.

That's what I've been noticing, since I've already did the events until August. The event grades from May to August had a slight increase if compared to the monts of January to April.

Somehow, that adds to the element of struggle of my company to being noticed, so I'll let it slide for now, do my job, try to book it right and, maybe, reach regional - which is my primary goal here.

MORE ON SWF'S LOOKING FOR INTERNATIONAL SCOPE, THE RISE OF GSW AND FALL OF IPW, SWOOP MCCARTHY COMMENTS.

SWF LOOKING TO EXPAND ITS HORIZONS

Rumors on the SWF corridors is that SWF wants to be more active internationally. Although the Supreme Wrestling Federation is currently the biggest american wrestling federation today, it's undeniable that its influence is reaching hard on the whole North America. There has been talks of a deal with a mexican PPV broadcaster to further amplify the importance and popularity south of the border.

A SHIFT OF PLACES AT THE WEST COAST WARS

Invincible Professional Wrestling and Grimm SoCal Wrestling have one of the most heated promotion rivalries since the East Coast Wars. While IPW, backed up by millionaire Gil Thomas and DaVE legend John “Nemesis” Campbell, has the financial backbone, GSW, owned by rap mogul Brother Grimm, has the talent.

But, it looks like Grimm is getting close to have the last laugh since there's been a great exodus of talent from IPW to GSW. With names like Kip Keenan, Fiasco Fierce, Frantic Ali, The Guru and even the current California Champion, Hustle Muvva, jumping ship, IPW's reputation is on jeopardy, while GSW is currently on the rise.

SWOOP McCARTHY'S COMMENTS ON RAW'S SKYSCRAPER

RAW's Television Champion Swoop McCarthy went to a local radio show in Australia for an interview. He talked about his colleague Skyscraper, saying that even though he's still limited in the ring, he's showing some good improvement, and he fits like a glove as one of RAW's biggest heels.

Well, financially speaking, everything went better than expected. I've been kucky that, somehow, some local business from the area entered in contact with me for the sponsorship. The money we make from their suppert will be our main font of income at our current size. With some good profit, I had the idea to hire more talent, so I've made contact with three wrestlers, a manager and a colour comentator.

while your talent pool is limited due to need for cheap people, ideally what you want is people with high entertainment stats like charisma, sex appeal or menace.

In sports entertainment, angles and storylines are at least as important than the matches if not more so. You may want to run a 50\50 or even 40

60 match\angle ratio and target your angles to users specific strengths using the clone angle option. That way you can turn a promo on overness to one rated on entertainment instead or menace. Overness will always factor into it but focusing on their specific high attributes helps get a little higher grade and those higher grades can also help push the grades in storylines.

Another thing to do is to make working agreements with other regional companies, and bring in guys on one shots who have slightly higher overness and have them lose to your guys to transfer some of that overness.

If they are skilled in ring as well then that can help your guys get better.

Well, since I kinda got the ball rolling, and I'm already in September in-game, these changes will take a while to happen.

The working agreement stuff though is something I've done already, and you'll see who soon...

NEW ORLEANS' FINEST ARE BACK

http://i.imgur.com/ENwJoDm.jpg

AWC's newest event, POWERPLAY, will showcase the best of New Orleans wrestling at the I-55 underpass parking lot.

On one half of the AWC Heavyweight Championship tournament semi-finals, Rayne Man will face the outspoken Arthur Dexter Bradley. Rayne Man has sustained several injuries last month after the attack from the devious Jerry Martin. Can he overcome the odds and go to the finals, that will happen in April, or will the brash A.D.B pass another test of strength?

At the other half, the flying redneck Fearless Blue will go one-on-one with Jack Avatar. Who will get out of the match victorious: the founding father of the extinct XDW, or the talented rookie?

Cal Sanders and Canadian Crush had a battle of words last month, but at POWERPLAY, they will face off at the ring. Can the patriot Sanders prevail and make the nation proud, or will the brute from Montreal make his manager, the beautiful but sneaky Isabella Encanta, happy?

Completing the card, Phillipe LaGrenier will face JOJI, while Thomas Morgan will square off with El Mítico Jr.
