Levesque however took a page from his mentor's book, as he resorted to underhanded tactics, including a low blow, to eventually gain the upper hand. With time waning in the fifteen minute bout, Regal tried to resort to the same underhanded tactics he had used in the past, but the referee was right on it and stopped him, disarming him of the brass knuckles. That tactic only worked for so long, as Vader eventually began to wear down the aggressor and then assert his will. The Steiners did get back involved in the end, and when it was all said and done Rick Steiner hit Sags with a top rope bulldog to secure the victory and for the Steiners to escape with their belts in tact.

Winners by Pinfall and STILL WCW Tag Team Champions: The Steiner Brothers

Match #8: The War Games: Hulk Hogan, Brother Brutus, Sting, "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan & "The Natural" Dustin Rhodes vs. "Nature Boy" Ric Flair, Arn Anderson, "Stunning" Steve Austin, Ron Simmons & Big Bubba Rogers
The Horsemen's hired muscle, Big Bubba Rogers, starts the match out against the bruiser of Hogan's team, Jim Duggan. The two brawlers fight it out amongst themselves for five minutes before Duggan's nemesis, Ron Simmons, joins the fight. Duggan tries valiantly to hold his own for the ensuing five minutes, before the numbers are even once more, but Simmons and Rogers manage to wear him down pretty well. Brother Brutus jumps into the fray next, which seems to be a miscalculation, as he has little help from the All-American. Brutus comes armed, however, throwing powder in the eyes of Ron Simmons and trying to take on Big Bubba himself.

Five minutes later and Arn Anderson enters for the Horsemen. Anderson hits a spinebuster on Brother Brutus, and for the next five minutes two of the Horsemen and Big Bubba lay a beatdown on Brother Brutus, targeting his knee more than anything. Dustin Rhodes comes in at the next interval, guns blazing, and he manages to turn the advantage for the good guys briefly as he gets rids of Simmons and Bubba and focuses mostly on The Enforcer. Duggan gets back into the mix as well, before another bell rings and Stunning Steve enters with his fellow Horsemen. Austin lays out most of Team Hogan, and the advantage is once again restored to the Horsemen.

Five minutes quickly elapses and Sting enters the buzzsaw. Having exchanged words over the last few weeks, Sting seems to be targeting the US Champ exclusive of all others, but the numbers game catches up with the Stinger eventually as Ric Flair becomes the last to enter for his team. Sting and company fight valiantly against the advantage, but the odds seem to much until Hulk Hogan finally enters and the Match Beyond begins. The twin teams battle it out in a brutal fashion, with Duggan and Simmons getting busted open at one point. In the end, it appeared that Hogan had the match won after locking Bubba in a camel clutch, but the referee instead saw Flair lock Brutus in the Figure-4 first. Hogan broke his hold, but was delayed from interfering long enough by Arn Anderson as Brutus tapped out to the World Champion.

Winners by Submission: The 4 Horsemen & Big Bubba Rogers

Segment #6: A new challenger appears...
The Horsemen are celebrating while Hogan pleads his case to the referee, when suddenly the lights go out as the cage is being raised. Before long the lights come back up and we are stunned by a sudden appearance in the center of the ring. Schiavone and Heenan come unglued as the "Macho Man" Randy Savage suddenly appears, not saying a word, but simply staring at both Hogan and Flair. Flair and the Horsemen vacate the premises quickly, and Hogan is merely left staring at Savage as the Macho Man looks at him with intensity and a slight hint of contempt, as Fall Brawl cuts to a close.

News and Notes for Week 1, October 1994

- The signing of Randy Savage was kept a mystery to most people, though given news of his detriorating relationship with Vince McMahon, it didn't come as a huge surprise. For now, he's been positioned as a middle road guy, neither aligned with Flair and the Horsemen or with Hulk Hogan. He will play a part in the main event of Halloween Havoc, as announced this past week at the TV tapings.

- There have been a slew of positive drug tests in the last week, with Brother Brutus, Chris Benoit & The Patriot all testing positive for steroids. There haven't been any firings yet, but the hope is that all of these men will get clean without any further intervention.

- Marcus Bagwell will return from his ordered vacation the second week of October, but it's unsure exactly what role he'll play in the near future. His contract doesn't expire till April of 96, so barring a complete meltdown he will be around for awhile.

- It's expected the Hogan/Flair storyline will rap up at Halloween Havoc.

- Management has been a little disappointed with the lackluster response to the cruiserweight division as of now. The matches have consistently been rated near the bottom of shows, but there have been a few bright spots, chief among them Eddie Guerrero and the like.

Fall Brawl went off very well, surprised to see it was Brutus who took the fall in WarGames. But with Savage there now, it's a whole new ballgame until we find out who he is in league with - if any of them!

Sting - I don't know if Sting would be gaining the belt, but I could see him winning this by DQ.

Steiner Brothers

Brother Brutus - Evening out the w/l column with these two.

Johnny B. Badd

Meng

Chris Benoit
