Best Wrestling Research Sites For Modding

Recommended Posts

Basically I'm looking for two things to aid me in my wrestling mod:-

1. Historical Wrestlers.

2. Foreign wrestlers from places outside the run of the mill places - basically Europe, South America, and Australia.

I already know about and use wrestlingdata, Cagematch, onlineworldofwrestling, and wrestlingheritage (copious downloading to expand my UK db from that one!). But I'd like more sites, if anybody has any useful tips.

Australian Wrestling.org is a pretty good one for Australia, it's where I got most of my information for my 1970 modification. I'm glad you're using Wrestling Heritage because that may just be my favourite historical wrestling website. I know you implied you've got the "run of the mill places" covered, but for North America (and in particular Canada), Slam! Canoe is a brilliant site. Apart from that, as SirMichaelJordan said, I think you've got it pretty much covered. I would suggest that you use Google as much as anything though but don't be afraid of going passed the first page of results, and going on peoples blogs and home-made fan pages because you'd be surprised of what you can find if you're willing to put the time and effort into it. Also, for other countries, it's well worthwhile translating names and things and then going to said countries Google rather than your own. Just put in, for example, "Google Mexico" into Google and you'll find the Mexican Google and use that to search for luchadores and such like because you'll find a lot more results, as you'd expect. This works particularly well for Japan. It'll take a bit more work because you'll have a lot of translating to do and such like (and it can be frustrating because not all translators are that good) but you can usually work out what they're getting at. Good luck. :)
