Product Settings Help

Recommended Posts

Hello wonderful forum people. If this is in the wrong place, mods please feel free to move it.

I'm running a real world mod dynasty at the moment and want to change my product settings, but wanted help from the more skilled gamers - last thing I want to do is accidentally mess things up and ruin my game. Having way too much fun with it for that, and have invested way too much time etc. on write-ups etc. to let that happen.

So this is where I'm hoping you fine people can help me... here's a screenshot of my current settings...

I originally planned for this to be a high flying / hardcore kinda fed. But it's evolved as I've written it. Now my roster is split 50/50 between high flyers and submission / chain wrestling / technical specialists with good fundamentals.

I'd like your help changing these settings to better suit this roster. We can ditch the hardcore aspect, as I seem to be moving away from that.

Thanks in advance for the help!

Looks like you want a minimal amount of angles and tell your stories primarily through match's.. I think. A split roster of high flying and technical wrestlers with good fundamentals (basics, psychology?).

I think Modern sums up at least half of your product easily, I would include at least low Traditional if not medium. I would tone down the Daredevil unless your looking for lots of spot monkey type stuff. You don't have to take it out completely, but keep in mind that Modern covers fast paced and a more believable high flying than Daredevil. Perhaps put in a low Mainstream, and with what I think your trying to do, perhaps lower Cult a little bit. I think you might want to keep Hardcore in, but set it lower, perhaps even very low. The reason I say to keep it is because you originally were going that way, so I figure you do have some on the roster that work that way.

Of course, you could also set it up something like this:

Traditional: Heavy

Mainstream: Medium

Cult: Low

Modern: Key Feature

Realism: Very Low

Hardcore: Very Low

Daredevil: Medium

...will mean wrstlers are rated equally on performance and popularity.

...will attract fans who will not like highly risky gimmicks.

...will attract fans who will not 'get' subtle gimmicks.

...will attract fans who will be put off by low risk matches.

...will prevent the company from getting Afternoon TV time slots on some networks.

...is favourable towards getting sponsorship.

...will allow the company to not be rocked by wrestling industry changes.

...will mean that the 'young lion' system will not be taken into account at any time.

This gives you a medium, where you can keep most of your fans happy all the time, and only tick off a few of them at any time, with what I think your trying to do. If you want fans to get subtle gimmicks, make Traditional Medium instead. Everything else will stay the same.

Thank you all for your advice, some really good stuff here. I've tweaked the product settings accordingly, though don't want to do too much too fast, so will gradually push this over time.

It just goes to show you how ideas for a company can quickly change with time. I started the fed with ideas of having it as a low-rent ECW on a much smaller budget. Then I had a lot of fun bringing in more technical based wrestlers, and suddenly the fed is going in a whole other direction lol

Most products have to change and evolve to suit the times and/or situation the promotion finds itself in. Like, with the product I use, I typically lower the Realism once I get to National+ because by then, I want the popularity of my workers to matter more. Reducing the realism to 'Low' or less makes it performance=popularity.
