Personally I'd either have him at B+ or A-. He's an amazing announcer.

 

I'd also give D-Bry a high B for the color stat if he doesn't already have it. His work on the CWC is great.

Based on the fact I'd have to research 8 workers, plus I've got to cut free worker pictures and have 2 hours today to work on it and maybe 2 hours through the week before releasing next weekend, it's highly unlikely the entire CWC competitors will be added. I think 24 out of the 32 is sufficient and if people want to run their own CWC in game they can use 8 different workers in those slots for now. I may also get Sean Maluta & Ariya Daivari added because I'd already started researching them but that's only a maybe. Hope that answers things for you.

<p>Is Ranallo's announcing better than Michael Cole calling Beast In The East though? I'd say not and I saw an entire season of NJPW on AXS TV. Him and Barnett were great though, so I think maybe a great colour brings out the best in him. I haven't caught that much Smackdown but from what I have seen Ranallo makes the same mistakes that other main roster announcers make with pop culture references and metaphors that don't fit and cringeworthy phrases like this Tuesday's "Smackdown is indeed the Ambrose Asylum!". I like his sportscaster voice myself but I know of wrestling fans that detest it; apples and oranges I guess.</p><p> </p><p>

If it was me personally, I'd have him and Michael Cole at B with Cole one or two points ahead of him. Cole handles Raw and did a great job with JBL and Saxton in the booth, he deserves credit for that.</p>

Problem is, Jim Ross was at his best with Jerry Lawler when Jerry was the heel. Gorilla Monsoon was at his best with Bobby Heenan. You need that dynamic in Sports Entertainment of the heel colour and the stand up announcer.

So just for some insight. Mauro should probably be the highest rated announcer in the game. And this is coming from a guy who once didnt like his work. I noticed that you said you dont watch Raw and SD! so I will say this for comparison sake, Matt Striker is a poor man's Mauro. </p><p> </p><p>

Mauro use to be the lead guy for Strikeforce (MMA) which was the premier competition for UFC at one point. If i remember correctly he also does some announcing still for some smaller MMA promotion. I believe he also does kickboxing, has done boxing and many other combat sports. </p><p> </p><p>

As for wrestling, Him and Josh Barnett worked very well together as Barnett w/ the Color (which should be rated pretty decent as well imo) added history and personal knowledge of the product. </p><p> </p><p>

But mainly think of him as a wrestler, the best in the World is the guy who can go in there with anyone and make the match entertaining and make people care. Same with announcers. Mauro has been great with everyone he has ever been with in any sport, and some of them were bad. In Strikeforce he made Frank Shamrock bareable, in NJPW he worked with the green Josh Barnett to perfection, On smackdown he has done well with Otunga, King, Byron, Graves, you name it and on the CWC he again works well with a green colour guy in DB and they have been great! He makes everyone look good, same cant be said for cole imo.</p><p> </p><p>

Also, i said Striker is poor mans Mauro because, they have a similar style in that they are both huge historians of wrestling, they can name nearly every single move thats ever been done, they call the action as if you are watching a real competitive sporting event and hook the viewer into the story being told. Where as Michael Cole does that to a degree but then spends half the match arguing with announcers about another feud or plugging something else entirely, which takes the focus and attention off of the competitors and makes you less interested. I would rank top 5 Announcers (due to prestige of company, their individual name and talent) as such:</p><p> </p><p>

I could definitely see the argument for putting JR over Mauro due to the entirety of his career but at this point in time I do think Mauro is the better PBP guy. Now if only he can get JBL to shut up for a few seconds on the next smackdown. Michael Cole himself can be very good when he doesn't have Vince or Kevin Dunn barking in his ear to talk about other parts of the show as seen on the Beast in the East special.</p>

I appreciate the input. Thanks. Just have to point out, there is no A- stat. It goes from B+ to A. Weighing up all the views so far on Ranallo I've set him to 84 which should be more in line with the current data set up.

 

Now, the bad news for some (but good news for me) Real World Chronicles is going back to bi-monthly releases. The board now has TheWho87's monthly update and T-Zone's real world update so if people are desperate to have the latest data, there are other options.

 

The sheer volume and worker pool depth in TheWhos' data is impressive, and although I haven't downloaded T-Zone, I know it is going to be as good as previous releases, because for me it was one of the benchmarks in current day mods for a long time (alongside RaveX).

Not sure how you feel about adding pre-set chemistry, but I just had a feel bad chemistries in my game that are really odd. Shinsuke and Balor have awful chemistry, Owens and Cena have poor chemistry, Ambrose and Reigns have poor chemistry, and Bayley and Sasha have poor chemistry.

 

I know chemistry is random if it's not pre-set, but these all seem to be good enough to maybe be pre-set.

I've added a few as it is something I will be adding for RWC over time... and yes I've also given Nakamura/Ibushi Great chemistry as I'm still of the opinion their match at Wrestle Kingdom 9 is one of the best I've ever seen.</p>
