mikemanwba Posted July 18, 2017 Share Posted July 18, 2017 Starting from September, Danny Garnell is available for Ring Announcing and Commentary, and as he already has 40 colour in your database, might be worth setting him to a colour commentator? (Admittedly, I'm running the March database, but he's set as an active wrestler, but he retired from in-ring in Mid 2015 I believe) Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Fleisch Posted July 21, 2017 Author Share Posted July 21, 2017
I have just finished the employment history for all WWE workers. It's not every appearance for every Indie promotion they ever appeared for, but does show the major companies they have made multiple appearances for, as well as companies in the data that they made more than the odd appearance for. Here is an example;

http://i.imgur.com/20kAwK1.jpg

http://i.imgur.com/CaQnw7v.jpg

I shall move on to NXT next. It will probably be a few companies updated per release as this isn't the most thrilling job to be doing. Thank you goes to TheWho87 for his TEW mod forum which has assisted in me simplifying the histories a little more rather than working it out from Wikipedia & Cagematch.

This also means the companies (unless they close down) are now locked in for this data as I'm not going to be adding companies by request due to the amount of work that will go into having to find all their alumni and add that company to their history etc.
Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Derek B Posted July 21, 2017 Share Posted July 21, 2017 I love it, Fleisch. I'm also amused by the variety of silly names that have been getting posted here and around the forums. I may need to tweak the names file a bit to tone some of them down, but the aim of that particular file was to add more kayfabe-y names to the game and I like the range that we've been getting. Bump Bump might be my favourite, I could write a silly doofus character around that for a long time starting with their trainer telling them to "bump, BUMP!" and carrying on forever. There are only 8000ish names in the data by default and at most around 2000 of those would be available for a first or last name... while the new additions would make up about another 2000 or so possibilities for a 50/50 chance at best for name combinations.

If I tighten up the names at my end (perhaps removing some, changing some to first or last only, maybe narowing the available nationalities) then that could change that a bit... although I think the game would benefit more in general from improving the naming system. I've had numerous ideas for that, which have so far gone nowhere but I could likely make that a lot better as it's actually a pretty easy part of the game to add information to if you are doing it from scratch...

The basic version I've always wanted is for workers to have a fields for "real first name", "real surname name", "kayfabe name" and maybe "kayfabe surname". From there the naming file just needs the ability to distinguish between common names, rare names and kayfabe names and we could create a name file that could create a wealth of interesting data and easily add all kinds of new family relationships for things like randomly generated children of workers and the like. I want it so bad, and I would happily put that file together if it were to become a reality. <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png">
Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

bro4dway Posted July 23, 2017 Share Posted July 23, 2017
Small detail but both Bruce Prichard and Dutch Mantel really should have their Weasel and Heel performance settings improved. They're two of the very best in the history of the business as far as Weasel Heels are concerned so I imagine it was just an oversight and not an intentional choice to have them set as low as they are in the data, which if memory serves is like 50. I bumped both guys up to 90 for each stat, personally.

Also, I'm super stoked about the employment history thing. It's amazing to see a modern day update start to see this level of polishing. You've definitely set a new standard for mod makers, Fleisch.
