olde_gregge
PGHW January 1997-July 2001 Glory Crown Championship: Tadiyuki Kikkawa Reign | Defenses: First Reign | Three Defenses Former Champion: Mito Miwa "The Outsider" Tadiyuki Kikkawa walked into the company and immediately put an end to Miwa's twenty-three month long reign with a record high fifteen defenses. Since then, Kikkawa has bulldozed the likes of Shuji Inukai, Koryusai Kitoaji and Dread in high profile matches, emphasizing with each victory that his success stems from the Burning Path. The current course of action is to rebuild towards Kikkawa v. Miwa II at Night of COURAGE, which is the season finale for the year in November. Glory Crown Tag Championship: Urban Samurai [Lee Wright & Raymond Diaz] Reign | Defenses: Second Reign | Zero Defenses Former Champion: The Stone Siblings [Dan Stone Jr & Jeremy Stone] After a long-term injury to Dan forced the Siblings to prematurely drop the title, I made plans for a bit of hot potato within the tag ranks to really emphasize just how deep and competitive it is. Wright and Diaz collected the championships for the second time, but on the road to COURAGE I'm planning on crowning the teams of Steve Flash & Stig Svensson and Koki Ishibashi & Angry Gilmore before ultimately contesting a four way tag contest in which my elite young team 2Ronin [Noriyori Sanda & Hiroyasu Gakusha] win the Tag Crown for the first time. Historical Japan Championship: Yoshimi Mushashibo Reign | Defenses: Second Reign | One Defense Former Champion: Tommy Cornell The Historical Japan evolved over the years to become my secondary singles belt one rung below the Glory Crown to give some of my top-talent extra opportunities at prestigious championships. After announcing a year devoted to singles competition, Yoshimi Mushashibo has fared much better than his partner Inukai. Yoshimi bested the elite competitor Cornell and is showing every sign of having a lengthy reign as well. Barring injury, I'm building towards a Mushashibo/Inukai match at COURAGE to cap off this story. International Championship: Richard Coleman Reign | Defenses: First Reign | Zero Defenses Former Champion: Griffin My tertiary title I introduced in 1999 when I bumped the Historical Japan up a pair. There's rarely a storyline attached to this title, just an opportunity for midcarders to compete in singles matches against each other instead of the Main Eventers. Coleman has been a very steady hand since I signed him in '98, so this reign was a reward. Griffin is a NBT in my save, so I used this title to highlight him for a bit prior to this. International Tag Championship: The McWade Brothers [Dallas & Dean] Reign | Defenses: First Reign | Two Defenses Former Champion: Urban Samurai [Lee Wright & Raymond Diaz] Same deal as its singles counterpart. This title allows me to showcase my very dependable veteran teams as well as my tag teams fresh from development that just don't have the popularity needed yet for the upper card. This reign for the McWades is a reward for very dependable work and to see how they do while I decide which of my next young teams takes the straps. Elite Series 2001: Shuji Inukai Ed Henson Memorial Tag Cup 2001: Dan Stone Jr & Jeremy Stone (3) Elite Tag Series 2000: Nobuatsu Tatsuko & Mamoru Nagahama
