Most promotions cut workers, BHOTWG went on a massive hiring spree. Fair enough they cut a lot of their older, time-decline workers but they still hired around 25-30 new workers. That included literally every worker on my roster who was midcard or over and not in time decline or loyal. So not just Okamato och Y Taku, which I was expecting, but such luminaries as Hotta who I only recently had picked up. It wasn't just us either. There were a bunch of PGHW releases as they went to Cult as well but BHOTWG snatched them up as well. And a lot of non-loyal GCG and Exodus dudes as well. They now must have a roster of 83 wrestlers. At Cult. I removed the weight split but too late it would seem. <p> </p><p> So I've gone through and given loyalty to the young lions who haven't worked for another promotion and aren't mercenary. Then I had little option but to hire some foreigners. I could have hired some of the old cast-offs from BH but they were surprisingly rubbish when I hired two on short-term contracts for the Grand Prix, plus they cost too much and they would only put over Torii or Funakoshi over (who don't need it), even though they were on "Pass the torch" contracts. </p><p> </p><p> In the end I gave the Grand Prix win to Blast Ikoma, out of desperation. I didn't see much point in Torii or Funakoshi winning again, I had Merle O'Curle and Bulldozer but I didn't think they deserved it yet and they could easily disappear again. Ikoma is improving but he isn't anywhere near the level of Torii or Funakoshi. Funakoshi got the title from Okamato before he left. </p><p> </p><p> On the plus side I worked out that holding monthly rather than weekly shows meant you get the normal attendance rather than the drastically reduced tour attendance, so I'm now making a, very small, profit every month. So I have a monthly show for each region of Japan. We still get whipped by GCG and 5Stars in regional battles though so we continue to net lose popularity. At least the wrestling industry is almost over 25 at last.</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Yea between the oddness of the weight division split an the broken loyalty system Japan isn't as fun as it was. No matter what you do your entire roster gets wiped.</p>

<p>This most recent patch fixed an error in the loyalty system, and it's a game changer for BCG. As best as I can tell it works the way it used to. I've ran a few tests and they all went the same way. I had 10 points assigned to negotiation in all of these. I was able to re-sign Yoshi Taku and Naozone Goto to extensions and they both became loyal. </p><p> </p><p>

As for free agents I couldn't snipe any of GCGs young lions since we're at war. Motoyuki Miyaki signed and became loyal. I also signed Azxumamaro Kita who was already with Saisho but not loyal; I didn't get loyalty from him though. I tried the same thing with Kimi Kawano and Midnight tiger; both signed but neither became loyal. The big difference seems to be you can't gain loyalty from signing a guy signed elsewhere even if they're not loyal. </p><p> </p><p>

The kicker: I won a bidding war for Okamoto. It cost the max appearance fee, downside, signing bonus, promising him a push as an Icon, hiring veto and wage matching, but he took my offer and resigned. And now he's loyal to BCG. I'm excited.</p>

<p>The patch definitely is a game changer, can't wait to start all over again with BCG now <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

Before, I focused on Kinki, Chubu and Kanto and thus lost most of the starting popularity in all the other regions. I want to go down a differen route this time, much like Narcizo, actually touring all the regions to keep the starting-pop and slowly build towards Cult level over a couple of years. With loyalty back in place this should be perfect to create a few new and loyal stars and get ready for the inevitable war with GCG at Cult level...</p>

I threw an offer almost as good as Razsn's to Torshusai and resigned him too. High negotiating skill is pretty great. GCG is gutting the usual suspects from my tag division and also nabbed Shiga, but I've got four future stars locked down with loyalty, and have a deep roster with a few loyal prospects.

<p>Once you can get to 30 pop in all regions you pretty much explode - just televise all your shows ( if you have 9 a month) for a pop gain of 3.7 a month. The wrestlers get ridiculously over as well plus all the matches mean pretty much everyone has maxed out performance skills (except selling which comes a lot slower). The one problem with TV is the lack of decent announcers (the best available is the guy I fired to save money and he won't come back).</p><p> </p><p>

I'm coming up to the 2018 Grand Prix and unlike last year it feels like I have a plethora of options. Once the roster is settled in you can concentrate on developing stories, histories and rivalries. Despite not wanting to go the gaijen invaders route I did just that - I desperately needed some tag experience so wanted to get The Ring Generals to carry the tag division through the hard times. Bulldozer Smith seemed a natural fit to be in a stable with them and then Merle O'Curle pretends to be from New York to create the Kings of New York. Apart from the Generals they aren't getting any gold but they did win the Lion tour stable contest, drafting in Logan Diaz ( ne Wolfsbane) as they're 5th member. I think there's an interesting dynamic with Smith and O'Curle not always on the same page (and not just because they have zero tag chemistry).</p><p> </p><p>

I don't actially know their names just the initials but I'm looking for KK or MM (the rookie at the start of the game who is mentored by T Taku) to win the grand prix - or possibly let Raymond Diaz win it and have one last monster run as he's only just started time decline. I'm already thinking about national and the need for star power, something we're conspiculously lacking in at the moment.</p>

<p>BCG is a lot of fun now that loyalty is fixed. I've ran into a couple of things I figured I'd share / ask about.</p><p> </p><p>

New Hires</p><p> </p><p>

I've had the same luck as everyone else with the usual suspects; I'm bringing along Pavel, Logan Wolfsbaine and Orange Tsuchie slowly and praying the don't get poached. I sniped Azumamaro from Saisho and re-signed him to get loyalty; he's paired up with Blast Ikoma and I expect them to before a tag team fixture. However by far my favorite signee this time around was a surprise that I just hired as jobber filler, Stealth Z. I dropped the mask and added one of my favorite renders, renaming him Dragon Tanahashi. He's skyrocketed since his debut when I threw him in with some midcarders in a six man against the big three (Funakoshi, Torii, and Razan) and he outperformed nearly all of them despite low pop. Another similar booking had another stellar showing and his pop had already jumped to 20 nationwide. He has loyalty and is only 24 so I'm going to push him as high as he'll go. He has some major holes in his performance skills but he has an insane 93 grade for flashiness. Right now I'm having him run through a stream of midcarders on their way to GCG. After beating Miura and Dynamite Nakahara in their farewell matches he's at nearly 40 pop nationwide having only appeared five times for me. Sofu Ozuwa just signed with GCG so he's going to job twice on the way out the door, then it's on to a long feud Tanyu Toshusai over the Challenger Series Title. I don't know if this one of those fluke games or not but check him out if you haven't already. (Also worth mentioning I tweaked my product to up modern to medium, not sure if that is having an effect here.)</p><p> </p><p>

Naozone Goto</p><p> </p><p>

What are you doing with this guy? His description has him pegged as a future star, and he's young and loyal. He's also huge and has some other high points like great menace. But man he's got a lot of downsides. Bad attitude has caused several issues in the locker room, he's perpetually unhappy and he's terrible in the ring right now. He also has horrific stamina. I would just bring him along slowly but he has decent pop relative to my size so he flips out over losing. I will probably stick him in a tag team and just let him be unhappy since my lockerroom is at 100% anyway, but man I've been tempted just to cut him. </p><p> </p><p>

Alliances</p><p> </p><p>

I always play as owner and I've opted to try out an alliance this team. I originally just wanted access to some good workers that I could bring in consistently but GCG wouldn't nab. The alliance only has the ability to trade talent and no titles so there aren't any rules to stick with. I ended up allied with Australian Pro, EMLL in Mexico and one of the Small Canadian promotions. It's not only provide some fairly reasonably priced high level workers but I've also learned that just appearing for you is enough to add Japan in areas they are available to work. The highlight has been APW's Boo Smithson (think that's his last name anyway) out of Australia. He's been putting on barn burners thanks to his technical acumen and I signed him to my own contract now.</p>

<p>Running BCG in July 2017. Got discouraged after the initial massive poach and then I got brutally poached again with GCG stealing most of my upper midcarders.</p><p> </p><p>

I have a great midcard of good workers and am building around the guys who are loyal to me (Yes, that means that Taku and Blast lucked into pushes!) which is what you'd do in real life.</p><p> </p><p>

My big money making feud is doing an American Invasion led by Greg Gauge (who I continually sign to touring contracts). Basic story is that each tour, various Americans come, dominate the midcard and challenge Funkakosi and "The Frontline". </p><p> </p><p>

I'm losing 20K every tour (which could easily be fixed by skipping one or two of my shows per tour) and am finally growing slowly in my home area. GCG just fell from Cult to Regional so is a massive pain in my butt again.</p>

BCG is by far my favorite company to play through. The poaching does deprive me from playing some of the cooler characters like Okamoto but I just love the core roster of loyal guys. Torii, Funakoshi, Blast, Yoshinaku Taku, and Matsushita are all interesting characters to book with and I can use Torii, Funakoshi and Taku to main event touring shows against lower card guys and pull good to great ratings. The biggest challenge I've run into is making money but I find about a year out from the "big event" in May/June I've actually gotten pretty successful.

<p>I usually try to take the fight to the Modern Japan Movement early due to poaching. They may still get Tanyu Toshusai, but I usually can keep Razan, Yosh Taku, and Goto by renegotiating their deals on day 1, and offering a touring contract if needed to make them loyal. My endgame with BCG is always to lock down as many as I can with loyalty so I can build around them, while bringing in outsiders to leech overness/skills to my loyal guys. Below is a shortlist of impact signings you can steal from the Modern Japan companies and make loyal to BCG.</p><p> </p><p>

<span style="text-decoration:underline;">Steal:</span></p><p>

Azumamaro Kita - SAISHO (Can get on PPA - If set company relationship to "At war" can steal and get loyalty) - Future star if can get him</p><p>

Azumamaro Shimizu - GCG (must offer touring contract to steal and get loyalty) - Great hand</p><p>

Danjuro Kikuchi - GCG (must offer touring contract to steal and get loyalty) - Great hand</p><p>

Isoruku Arakaki - SAISHO (Can get on PPA - If set company relationship to "At war" can steal and get loyalty) - High menace</p><p> </p><p>

<span style="text-decoration:underline;">Other youngsters can make loyal:</span></p><p>

Motoyuki Miyake - MUST sign. Future "great" if can make loyal.</p><p>

Gidayu Katou - Great workhorse who the AI tends to ignore</p><p>

Stealth Z - Decent starting pop and SQ. His flashiness and selling help shore up a hole on BCG roster</p><p>

MUSCLE Serizawa - Power can come in handy</p><p>

Kyuichi Matsumoto</p><p>

Shuzo Utagawa (Debuts in Feb)</p><p>

Eikichi Itou - High menace</p><p> </p><p>

<span style="text-decoration:underline;">Staff to make loyal:</span></p><p>

Naizen Uboshita - I feel he deserves his own section. Can get loyalty if offered day 1, great entertainment skills and can function as color guy as well.</p><p> </p><p>

There are more loyalty options as well out there, but I have highlighted the highest impact ones above I feel.</p><p> </p><p>

If you can execute the above, you end up with Razan, Funakoshi, Torii, and Blast leading the way and Y. Taku, Kita, Stealth Z and Miyake as your "Future greats" to build around. One of the next for (usually Taku) will replace Blast when ready and you can spin off as many factions as you need.</p><p> </p><p>

A couple other "non-loyal" workers worth bringing in are Konrad Makinen and Logan Wolfsbaine. They both come cheap but can pop good ratings early while passing skills to rest of roster.</p><p> </p><p>

Also, cheap plug, I did updated logos, titles, events for BCG, which can be found here: <a href="http://www.greydogsoftware.com/forum/showthread.php?t=539159" rel="external nofollow">http://www.greydogsoftware.com/forum/showthread.php?t=539159</a></p>

<p>Using BCG as my training grounds as I try and learn how to run a touring company. Between my inexperience, rough finances and GCG raids, it's a tough one so I had to try real hard. Here are some things I've done, from the top of my head, in hopes it helps people who wanna give BCG a try:</p><p> </p><p>

- I've kept the original schedule, but only run the monthly show and a weekly "touring" show, which is cut down to minimum time, strictly 3 matches and avoiding tag matches. I try to rotate people so that everyone works at least 1 touring show, then just to be safe I include everyone in the big monthly.</p><p> </p><p>

- No organizing or paying either transport or hotels. Can't afford it</p><p> </p><p>

- Announcers only work the big monthly event</p><p> </p><p>

- Every show it's either Road Agent booking all matches</p><p> </p><p>

- After the initial raids, I invested in plenty of young lions like Miyake, Itou and Utagawa. Was rewarded with both loyalty and mentorships. Might just be luck, but I think YL do have a higher chance for both.</p><p> </p><p>

It's not much, but I'm now breaking even, every rest month generates roughly as much as I lose the following touring months until the next break.</p><p> </p><p>

GCG quickly rose to Cult and while it was easier for them to snatch talent, at least they were off the Regional wars. Early 2017 though they fell into debt so BHOTWG bought em off and disbanded them, to my twisted pleasure.</p><p> </p><p>

Also, my secondary Road Agent left the business within the year and Shiga retired early 2017. Given his awesome Psychology and Respect, I figured he was worth keeping around as a Road Agent, not to mention he's got at least 3 proteges. Then it clicked and I decided to invest some money into a Dojo with Shiga as the trainer. Hope I'll get some well trained new talent out of that, with loyalty and mentorship straight out the box.</p>

<p>Something I just wanted to drop in regarding the Challenger title which I use it as part of a mini-brand split.</p><p> </p><p>

In my head the Challenger title is because BCG is so arch-conservative and thin on wrestlers that only BCG loyalists can challenge for the BCG World Titles, which are more like dojo accolades of the BCG system rather than actual defended titles every month.</p><p> </p><p>

So the Challenger title is for freelancers, guests and non-loyal wrestlers to chase as a carrot on "BCG Challenger Series" shows while loyal wrestlers compete on "BCG Dojo" or "BCG Wrestlers" shows.</p><p> </p><p>

That said, both factions can compete for the tournament titles in tournament seasons. A Challenger Champion can easily lose a non-title match to a loyalist wrestler of an appropriate push, and loyalist wrestlers can't compete for that title at all.</p><p> </p><p>

So when the company gets bigger and I run more regular shows, I usually turn the Challenger Series into a subsidiary brand for trialing fresh talent. That or I fold the Challenger "brand" into the BCG brand, and then replace it with other titles like the National Heavyweight, Television or Young Lion renders that are available on the forum.</p>

<p>I just came up with an alternate suggestion for the BCG Challenger Series title. BCG to me feels very into old school Japanese wrestling, which was partially inspired by sumo wrestling in terms of presentation, and actually recruited a lot of sumo wrestlers post-retirement. </p><p> </p><p>

So, what if the Challenger Series Championship is actually used as part of a sumo-style tournament, or ran on sumo-style rules? You win in sumo by knocking your opponent out of the circle, so the ruling here would be that the title only changes hand by over-the-top-rope elimination in a singles match. </p><p> </p><p>

If you were going to run it as a either a tournament, you could run it as one-bracket round robin series for 16 wrestlers (as the top sumo tournament is won by the wrestler with the highest win-loss score after fifteen bouts). If you want it to run as a battle royal, you could have it defended in fifteen man battle royals.</p><p> </p><p>

This could also work as part of the Survivor Battle Royale or the Yoshifusa Maeda Grand Prix. </p><p> </p><p>

Hope some people find some use out of the idea!</p>

Couple of questions for those who have or do run Black Canvas...

The finances. Jon ran a really tight ship in his second save and Dark Raider kept the production values down, despite the penalties. So... how tight are the finances?

Does anyone create a junior division? No super juniors, but just junior heavyweights? Or do you all keep it single division due to the canon?

<p>Finances aren't actually that bad, I ran half of 2016 with 3 weekly tour shows of 3 matches each, some months booking almost exclusively tag matches and it worked out better than I hoped. With GCG hitting Cult and out of the Regional Wars, I even felt safe enough to bump up production values and expand the roster at the start of 2017, though I took weekly shows down to 2 to save cash just in case (and to not burn up matchups, not a deal in game terms but it can make a diary repetitive).</p><p> </p><p>

To me the risk is both external and internal:</p><p> </p><p>

External because you get hit with the tsunami at the start, which tanks the economy and business, plus the penalties from Regional Wars. You just can't compete with the funds of GCG/5SSW/EXODUS and them all being in Modern Japan means they don't damage each other so it's you against all of them. Also, a touring schedule means production upgrades hurt bad as long as they involve a "per show" fee; you hold a bunch of shows per month, not just one. Then there's the talent raids.</p><p> </p><p>

Internal because, being used to watching/booking a non-touring company and with the raids on top, it's easy to get carried away and stretch your funds thin hiring workers. Stick with a core of loyalists, invest in building a new generation of loyal young lions and try out folks with touring contracts before offering a more permanent deal. Also, don't try to bring in skilled gaijin who are nobodies in Japan, you'll never get them over without a TV deal. On the bright side, you can bring in people who have toured with PGHW: they are bound to be good and they have gained national exposure already.</p><p> </p><p>

Pro tip: Use either Kazu Yoshizaua OR Yoshifusa Maeda for ALL your touring shows, then both on the big monthly one. It's easy to overlook, but it saves you a lot of unnecessary expenses and the pace is good enough they'll never complain about not being used.</p><p> </p><p>

Bottom line, the finances aren't bad at all, but adjusting to booking a touring promotion plus the extremely slow rate of growth means there's a good chance you might burn up your big bank account long before BCG can get sustainable, let alone profitable and growing.</p><p> </p><p>

I try to stick to the canon, no one under Lightweight, only Regular/Puroresu/Technician/Brawler. Also, I only hand out PPA deals to Japanese workers, though seeing how Big Bruiser Findlay starts the game as the main gaijin monster heel with a PPA contract, I'm tempted to hire some tour regulars on a more permanent basis.</p><p> </p><p>

If I understood the question right, it's not about minimum size or style, but rather about a weight split and separate divisions. Pretty sure the expanded roster you'd need would kill the budget, since you'd have to use so many people so often to avoid them losing morale.</p>

<p>Thanks for the reply, Raider. Pretty much what I was hoping about the finances. </p><p> </p><p>

For a junior division, I was indeed thinking a standalone division, though not necessarily with the weight split on or with a huge number of workers. It would definitely be down the road, once the finances are solid (beyond the Tsunami) and possibly just once the company is safe at Cult. It would be junior division, not Super Junior, if that makes sense. </p><p> </p><p>

So I tested a little. I managed to keep Yoshinak Taku, Tanyu Toshusai, and Razan Okamoto. Razan and Taku became loyal to us when they accepted the new deals, but Tanyu didn't. I'm pretty sure CGC was bidding for all three but I deleted the emails so I can't check. Anyone have any idea why Tanyu wouldn't have become loyal? </p><p> </p><p>

Also, I thought I read earlier in this thread that touring deals would result in loyalty but I tried it with a couple of workers and it didn't. Which makes sense. So PPA deals are required, but does do they only become loyal on an extension?</p>

<p>Assuming you hold back and save funds before the jump to Cult, it'll be a while until you can do it, but of course you should be able to introduce a (non-super) junior category by that point since you'll need to expand the roster anyway.</p><p> </p><p>

If I remember correctly how loyalty works, you need young lion-ish workers (something like under 25 years old and with 4 years max in the business, but I might be wrong about the exact numbers) who are Japanese hired by a Japanese promotion. That said, don't expect foreigners to become loyalists and at age 26 with 4 years in the business, Tanyu Toshusai might be past the point of potentially becoming loyal.</p><p> </p><p>

With all the above though, I should mention that during my initial "learning to book a touring company" BCG save, CGC went bankrupt shortly after hitting Cult so I was able to bring in a bunch of talent back into the fold, Toshusai included. He was one of the first to flee, while still champion, mind you, so having him chase the gold and never reclaim it felt so delightful <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/cool.png.f00d2562b2c1d873a09323753efdb041.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p>

<p>I've booked a bit in Japan. I had nice saves with Burning Hammer of the Wrestling Gods a few times, including one on TEW 2016. I've also been messing around with Noah in a 2001 mod. So I've got a bit of the routine down for a touring Japanese promotion. But BGC is also different from both of those. Burning Hammer is a monster and I didn't really worry much about loyalty because I could just sign them to written deals. Noah was the same, and while money is a concern there, there is a lot more in the bank to start. I don't do regional sized companies much and with bigger companies, money is generally less of a concern. So the dynamics I'm not used to with BCG will be watching the finances very closely and dealing with talent being poached. </p><p> </p><p>

The intent would be to build around the loyal guys only. Other companies are too predatory to trust them lol</p><p> </p><p>

I assume that it must be age with Tanyu. He has 4 years experience but he's 26. The other two have 4 and 6 years experience but are both 24 years old. If I can keep 2 of the 3, that's still pretty good with what the company already has. But even just testing for a few weeks, I see how hard it will be to keep good midcard and upper midcard vets. Not much that can be done to keep those and trying to outbid the bigger companies doesn't seem ideal. </p><p> </p><p>

Another question.... Rokuemon Matsushita. Have people managed to develop him into a true star? He intrigues me significantly, but he needs more work than most of the top prospects in the company.</p>

Those aren't great but he can have a 20 minute match now with out fatiguing and I stopped getting selling penalties nearly a year ago now. He's mostly been in a tag team with me and is having consistent performances in the mid 80's to low 90's. He is also my 3rd most over guy without me even attempting to push him as such he just seems to get over. BIG fan of this guy as it doesn't even seem like I got a great roll with him as his charisma and SQ haven't move a point since the start of the game(not like it needed to, obviously).</p>

<p>Thanks El Horse. </p><p> </p><p>

So rolling with a BCG save. An entire 2 weeks in. Just held Heritage. Things are decent so far. Most shows are growing the company. Funakoshi is a monster and I love him. We are losing money and I bloated the roster. </p><p> </p><p>

I typically take a "learning save" to get a handle on a promotion, so this might turn out to be that. I've done a touring promotion enough times, but not at this size. The reality of having to watch the spending isn't something I'm overly used to as a I typically go for bigger companies. </p><p> </p><p>

-I am using Maeda as much UC. My typical approach. The upside to it is that I could offer Razan, baby Taku, and Tanyu more money than Maeda as an owner would otherwise let me. So I beat away GCG to keep them. Razan and Taku are now loyal. Tanyu is not, so I will probably lose him down the road. Trying to build some positive relationships around him to maybe help that. </p><p> </p><p>

-I always bloat my roster, so I... bloated my roster. We've lost 3 to GCG so far and I released a couple of the less talented oldheads. I compensated for the losses by signing about 15 young workers who became loyal. Thankfully most of those are on lower-wage contracts, so even if they don't get used, I'm paying as low as $200 downside to keep loyal young workers. I also signed a couple of the non-loyal GCG youngsters to touring deals so they would leave GCG - when the touring deals are up, I will try to sign them and make them loyal. I also have a couple of touring deals for workers who are contracted to but not loyal to other companies - the touring deal didn't force them leave since we aren't at war. </p><p> </p><p>

-wanted to run Big Battle TagMania as a proper tag team grand prix but doesn't seem like the best idea so probably going to emulate Dark Raider and do it as an elimination tournament. The Maeda Grand Prix is going to be a GP but with the March break and the event in week 2 of April, I am going to have to emulate DR again and start the matches after Tag Mania, but I may also have to move the event back a bit. </p><p> </p><p>

-lost $65K so far in the first two weeks. Some of that is going to be the signing bonuses - I gave out as little as I could but it does add up when its a handful of wrestlers. I've also been running 1 hour tour shows with only a handful of matches so I am trying to have some restraint. </p><p> </p><p>

Its weird. I partly miss the financial laissez-faire-ness of running Burning Hammer, plus the fun of coming up with new masked Super Juniors. But trying to build up this company through the small group of loyal young stars is also appealing. My main question at this point is whether the signings I've made are going to unhinge the finances to the point that I need to start over (making this one the afore-mentioned test save) or whether I can make it work.</p>

<p>Regarding Rokueman, I’ve had great luck with him. But until his stamina improves he can’t be your ace. He’s a great special attraction though.</p><p> </p><p>

My last game I had him tag with Motoyuke miyake since they had chemistry. They did a menace angle prematch on most shows (elaborate entrance) and rarely lost. Within 9 months he was the third most popular wrestler in Japan. His matches weren’t great because of time limitations but you can stretch a tag match with him into 20 minutes. I would have them dominate the tag ranks but have him put over a rising star in a singles match every couple of months.</p>

That should help address the Selling to some degree. The Stamina is going to be a slower process. I was considering having him work regular dark matches against local hires and just constantly push each one to the edge of what he can do. That should gradually push up the Stamina. I haven't started doing that yet because I don't want to spend the money just yet. </p><p> </p><p> I did drop the match-angle ratio to 90-10 and have been running some talk angles, emulating the big stars say something on the mic before or after the match. In Burning Hammer, it drew strong grades, skyrocketed momentum and that then helped push popularity up. The grades are not awesome so far but it looks like its probably helping with momentum.</p>

An entire 2 weeks in. Just held Heritage. Things are decent so far. Most shows are growing the company. Funakoshi is a monster and I love him. We are losing money and I bloated the roster. </p><p> </p><p> I typically take a "learning save" to get a handle on a promotion, so this might turn out to be that. I've done a touring promotion enough times, but not at this size. The reality of having to watch the spending isn't something I'm overly used to as a I typically go for bigger companies. </p><p> </p><p> -I am using Maeda as much UC. </p><p> </p><p> -I always bloat my roster, so I... bloated my roster. </p><p> </p><p> -wanted to run Big Battle TagMania as a proper tag team grand prix but doesn't seem like the best idea so probably going to emulate Dark Raider and do it as an elimination tournament. Having Torii, Ikoma, and Okamoto to match him up with makes him up there with the best guys in the game IMO.</p><p> </p><p> #2) Roster bloat is no big deal as I do the same thing and I feel like a lot players in general do. All I'd say is just make sure those guys all get used during the tour shows so you don't end up paying for talent that didn't get used. Also the roster bloat will eventually fix itself as BHOTWG usually goes on a signing spree after the "incident" effects Japan. </p><p> </p><p> #3) The young boys from GCG are Kikuchi and Shimizu if I'm not mistaken are so, so, so good in a couple of years. Even without the SQ those guys are money especially Danjuro Kikuchi.</p><p> </p><p> #4) Don't worry about funds too much. My last game was probably my 6th or 7th run at a BCG game and I actually just matched production values with the groups I'm running against and to eliminate the penalty's and reap the gains of having the best shows of anyone around my size. First year I lost around 600K and the second year I also lost around 200K but in the third year I was able to get coverage for my events and around the end of the year I was able to get a PPV carrier and actually gained around 600K. Year 4 by the end of Feb I decided to buy out GCG to gain their best talent and I put myself about 1.2 million in the hole. But I'm already out of the hole after April by just having all of my GP shows covered on TV and my Finals on PPV. So for the first year I'd say who cares about budget. It's year two where you need to see the losses significantly down.</p>
