<p>Taking a break from my Lucha Underground-inspired Luchador Fight Club promotion to take another stab at my "Terry Thunder buys AWF from Ezekial Trillion as Trillion heads to prison" game.</p><p> </p><p>

The only major change I made was scrapping the TV/PPV deals and creating my own network (Thunder!) to host all my content as well as a weekly TV show for FAW. I picture Thunder! being a vanity network ala Robert Rodriguez' El Rey or Mark Cuban's AXS TV.</p><p> </p><p>

I kept my hiring spree limited to 5 for the main roster and 5 for development, which is downright restrained for me. Joining (or rejoining) the main roster (to provide some necessary mid-to-upper-midcard staying power) is Wilson Hancock, The Ghost Rider, Jess Hart, Jamie Vann and Vincent I. Parker. </p><p> </p><p>

My plan is to have Terry Thunder serve as on-screen owner, but to keep his appearances heavily limited to avoid Thunder fatigue and also because face authority figures are very limited in their utility. </p><p> </p><p>

I plan on continuing all the existing storylines, plus adding several of my own.</p><p> </p><p>

One storyline will see Thunder unveil a tournament called the Showcase of the Immortals, featuring Immortal Warrior, Jean-Claude Giroux, Towerblock and Mountain Albert. Thunder wants to honor the men on who built AWF as the company heads into a new era. All four participants are "legends" of a sort, all former champions who will face off in a four-way match, with the winner receiving a trophy and a shot at the AWF World Championship.</p><p> </p><p>

The returning VIP is set to turn on and feud with his old friend and partner Ricky Fyre, El Angel will feud with The Ghost Rider and Omri Stone, Patriot and Wilson Hancock will face off in a three-way feud. </p><p> </p><p>

My tag team division is in desperate need of new blood, but I'm reluctant to bring anyone in right now, since I've already got a slate of incoming talent. I'll probably promote Romulus and Remus soon.</p>

I just downloaded this mod and absolutely love the world.

I started a game with ILL and I'm having a blast with the wrestlers that work for this promotion.

I picked El Usuario Enmascarado as my avatar and then proceeded to make a vanity title for him called the Mexican National Championship.

I have Green Doctor Jr. and Luzbel working a program right now. They haven't met in ring yet but the angles are going well. I've been toying with the idea of making Green Doctor Jr. my figurehead but I haven't pulled the trigger there. He's definitely my go to guy as far as pulling out good matches.

White Panther Jr. upset everyone early on and has been digging himself out of that hole. He also has zero chemistry with his dad so I ended that relationship. He's been having good matches since so I'm hoping that early nosedive is over.

So far I've been able to get mid to high 70s for most of my shows and I've moved my prestige and momentum up a few points.

I'm looking forward to digging into this game a lot more.

<p>one thing i really like about this mod is the number of family members and other intertwining relationships. I almost like it in that regard better than the cornellverse. It really helped me get into it because for example, I see could that Guy lothario was a legend and then i see these other characters are related or were trained by then I want to sign them.</p><p> </p><p>

I do think it is possible to get too heavy with relationships, as I've seen in real world mods in the past, where they add every comment ever reported in a dirtsheet or shoot int. But this mod seems to strike a good balance.</p>

<p>My locker room has just been a mess with ILL. I poached El Bufon from CLLM and that seems to have helped a little bit as he immediately had a few wrestler's courts that improved behavior.</p><p> </p><p>

I just ended month 3. Turned a tidy profit after losing about 750k the first 2 months of the game. I signed everyone to written deals and started poaching anyone of any importance from CLLM. I've got the company prestige up quick a bit and the momentum is moving up at a steady rate. Attendance is rising at a nice rate as well.</p><p> </p><p>

I put the title on Green Doctor Jr. but I'm continuing his feud with Luzbel. They are an easy 90 rated segment and the matches do pretty well with the right aims at shows. I've moved Alberta Marchena Jr. into a feud with El Hijo Del Sultan and that feud has been hot through the first few weeks. I'm continuing the Incognito and White Panther Jr. feud but I really struggle with that one at times.</p><p> </p><p>

Darkest Soul has been my best hiring so far as he has good chemistry with White Panther Jr, Green Doctor Jr and Alberta Marchena Jr. What are the odds of that happening?</p>

Had a good start with PWI and enjoying it so far, should be a game I will spend some time with. Major challenge for me is booking the tv shows, due to th eproduct they need clear match endings, which is something I need to get used to which also means that you tend to have more main event vs upper midcard main events.

So I'm thinking of taking another crack at CWT. I just need to figure out the best way to book them from a meta perspective. It seems wrong to cancel their TV show, but it might be best to just alternate between booking in the South East and Great Lakes regions until the company is back to Cult. At the same time, going slower might be the best in the long run.

Thoughts?

Thoughts?

I'm booking them a bit like NXT with more frequent events. I kept the 1hr weekly show (expanded the distribution like the AI does) and moved all events to Saturdays or Sundays (I don't like events same day as a show). All my distributors also hosts my events. Besides that, I treat it like any other company.

I did make a change to the product from a meta perspectitve and raised modern but that's it. I wanted it to make it so aerial skills aren't less effective but it also made it a bit more performance based. I also raised up all production values so they're up to scratch with the competition. We make enough to sustain it.

I think that's about all I changed.

Turned the Briscoe Bowl into a tournament. Only 16 man with the finals at the big event. Brought back Shay Kinsella and he beat Big Bubba in the finals to get it.

The Ghost Rider is World Heavyweight champion but Mills did it to control him. He's now Damon Hell because Mills has the mask and he does Mills's bidding. Fargo Korben is on the verge of turning on Living Without Fear.

Street Survivors and Luther Mack took the other titles too.

That's about it for me. It's a very easy company to book thanks to the 1hr show and the 2hr event and you dominate the regional battle. Cult isn't far off though so I imagine that's where it gets challenging.

I haven't signed anyone besides Shay Kinsella but there's a ton of talent available if you're not wanting to stick to the roster like me.

Oh I also changed the name of the March PPV since I didn't like the Confederacy theme. I'm fine with Civil War since I'll just spin it as being more of an in-roster fracture.

Just had my third event with CWT.

Fargo Korben wins a #1 contendership match to face Luther Mack for CWT Mid-Southern championship and pinning Sonny continues his slow burn face turn.

Big Bubba beat McKree to keep him busy. McKree has been used to put over my main eventers since he's got a nice physicality menace to him. He wins squashes against the lower midcard on the weekly shows to keep him legitimate.

Duke Dynamite & Stevie Gunn are Explosive Combination. I gave them the win since Silverback is a pest backstage. I'd like to give Gunn one more world title reign because despite being 3-4 years past his prime, he's one of my better wrestlers and obviously that won't last forever.

Brooks & Streets bombed because I forgot to change one of their pushes to lower mid card. Really hate that. Anyways, Streets is a bad personality despite being worth pushing so Brooks gets the win. Streets bound to be let go when his contract expires. They had bad chemistry which is why I split them.

The Gibson Brothers retake the title from Street Survivors. The first time they faced I gave them a draw since I didn't want to make Street Survivors mad with a defeat, second time I gave Street Survivors a win since they'd get mad otherwise and another draw wasn't interesting. Third time they were willing to lose. Likely toss in another team for the rematch. Who knows who will win. Mike Gibson has fortunately stopped wanting to be unscripted in promos. The Street Survivors are honestly better right now but I want to give Gibsons a real shot. I'm not a big fan of short reigns but whatever.

Mack makes his second defense in the rematch against Darius King. Darius was always gonna move into a tag, likely with Silverback but since I don't like Silverback's attitude and The Great Colorado V took King as a protege (meanwhile The Great Colorado IV was taken by Gunn as a protege), I'll be teaming King & IV.

Main event was Briscoe Bowl winner challenging the champion The Ghost Rider. Mills enacted his rematch to be in this one. Shenanigans in this match with Kinsella having to deal with the united Rider/Mills until Rider for some reason turns on Mills (kayfabe explanation is that Korben stole the mask to control Rider backstage but put it back after the match). The main event was my best match but Mills injured Kinsella and hes out for 2 months.

My backstage is suffering and I haven't been doing amazing financially. But I'm enjoying a steady and quick to book game. Next is the road to Rumble at the River, we'll be back in the South East which means more money (I was in Mid South towards Back from the Dead since thats where the PPV is set). Oh yeah Back from the Dead replaced the old The South Will Rise Again event.

We will probably hit cult by the end of this month where we will duel with HCG (who average C- to C+ shows like us), DRAGON (C+ to B+) and AWF (B mostly) while PWI watches to see who they get to fight next. We're going to get murdered on production value for sure and the money issue will kill us but hopefully we can sustain around C- shows to keep gaining pop.

Is there any mod that comes close to how awesome the Thunderverse is? I mean fully realized fictitious world, all renders look like they came from the same place, richly developed stories, etc.?

In my mind only the C-Verse. I haven't played the Londonverse yet, but should be similar quality from what I have read. In the end I wish there would be more fictional mods.

If I would have more time I would start working on a fictional mod being set in the 80's as I think it would be fun to re-live the 80's in a fictional world.

Very cool idea! Look at previous and current PWI rosters and you should find quite a few workers for Puro.

There are a series of patriotic masks with different color schemes and both white and black wrestlers. I usually hire Crzy Will and develop him a bit, with the intent he'll becomes a mainstay upper midcard gatekeeper. The intent is always to bring thru youngsters under similar masks, tagging them with him until they turn to feud with him, unmask, or just move off on their own. </p><p> </p><p> The mask doesn't have to be American patriotic to be old school, but there are plenty of mask options in the Tverse. • 1 month later...

<p>3 months into my game with UPJ. Just coming up for the Ozeki Summit final. I completely lost track of time and when the event was, so quickly threw together 2 small groups to make up the tournament.</p><p> </p><p>

The final will be contested by Juro Deguchi & Ryotaro Naruto in a repeat of 2009 final which was won by Deguchi. It's a 40 & 41-year-old contesting the final and I'm gonna give Deguchi the nod for his 3rd Ozeki Summit victory so he'll be tied with Kenta Sonada for the most tournament wins. He's not hit time-decline yet but I'm going with a story of that he wants to prove he can still go. Sort of Tanahashi-esque (In my minimal knowledge of NJPW). He's got a strong friendship with Kintaro Kinjo, the current Ace, so he wants to prove he's as good as the best. As an added bonus, the final will also be for the new UPJ Intercontinental championship along with the obligatory Heavyweight title shot at Procession of Champions.</p><p> </p><p>

Oda Yamawaki has asked for his release so he's being jobbed out before he goes. The future Ace for the company and he wants away. We'll humble him. He was injured via a botch in early January and missed 6 weeks. He came back angry and his match performances weren't as good as before the injury. Half-assing it. I made him take a loss to Ryotaro Naruto during the tournament, he was very unhappy about it but did it anyway. Ended up more pissed off. </p><p>

Eventually, he asks for release so he's putting over everyone on his way out. Especially Jack Jericho (Jack America) and King Fergus (Fergus Storm), the latest members of the RENEGADES stable, headed by EVR. The stable has had an overhaul of it's crew. EVR cuts a promo saying certain members just can't cut it and he beats them down, with the help of his new bandmates. So the new look RENEGADES stable is;-</p><p>

Aydan Farrell, Bruiser Cassidy, Erik Van Rijn, Graham McKenzie, Jack Jericho, King Fergus and Kris Phoenix.</p><p> </p><p>

Top 2 matches of the year so far have both been singles with Kintaro Kinjo & Juro Deguchi. 1 win apiece. Matches got a 95/A and 96A* ratings, respectively.</p><p> </p><p>

Up next is trying to sort tag teams out for the World Tag Tournament coming up. Don't know whether to hold it in a style similar to the G1 or just as a basic Round Robin tournament. </p><p> </p><p>

Also set up a development territory called New Japan Pro Wrestling. Original, right? After my World Tag Tournament will be the UPJ Junior Mountain tournament and I'm looking forward to that. I've brought together some great talent for that which should be an excellent tournament.</p><p> </p><p>

This has all been brought on by a new found admiration for NJPW. Never really watched it before but WWE has bored me to tears and wanted something new. Figured I'd try something different for TEW too. Apologies for the lengthy post.</p>

As an added bonus, the final will also be for the new UPJ Intercontinental championship.

So the new look RENEGADES stable is;-

Aydan Farrell, Bruiser Cassidy, Erik Van Rijn, Graham McKenzie, Jack Jericho, King Fergus and Kris Phoenix.

Top 2 matches of the year so far have both been singles with Kintaro Kinjo & Juro Deguchi. 1 win apiece. Matches got a 95/A and 96A* ratings, respectively.

Up next is trying to sort tag teams out for the World Tag Tournament coming up. Don't know whether to hold it in a style similar to the G1 or just as a basic Round Robin tournament.

Also set up a development territory called New Japan Pro Wrestling. Original, right? After my World Tag Tournament will be the UPJ Junior Mountain tournament and I'm looking forward to that. I've brought together some great talent for that which should be an excellent tournament.

This has all been brought on by a new found admiration for NJPW. Never really watched it before but WWE has bored me to tears and wanted something new. Figured I'd try something different for TEW too. Apologies for the lengthy post.

Interesting, if I did not have great fun with my PWI game I would actually look into booking Puro in TV as well after reading your post. Whenever I am booking Puro Wrestling in TEW I also watch some old All Japan or New Japan of the 90's, great inspiration.

Mainly I like the idea of signing him to PWI and rebranding him under his real name as a pet-project of Shane Allman's (he's got a really nice re-render without the US attire/paint), but I think he could be a lot of fun as Patriot in the AWF too. Patriotic characters can be really good nuanced flawed faces. I like to think of him as the antithesis of Muhammad Hassan (the anti-american who made some valid political points but was ultimately a great heel), Patriot can have many of the distasteful elements of nationalism while remaining a popular babyface because 'America yay!'. You could have a lot of fun with that.</p>

<p>Started a new game last night. Running UPJ. I've always had a hard time getting into running Japanese feds because I have no head for puro, but the auto-booker neatly sidesteps that issue for me. I've been letting it handle booking tour cards while I focus on roster management. </p><p> </p><p>

Apparently, when I set backstage rules requiring wrestlers show up early and dress up, that was an invitation for half the roster to do otherwise. Discipline backstage has plummeted, and unfortunately even my top stars are flouting it. It's gotten a little better thanks to my top road agent holding regular wrestler's court. He's gradually rehabilitating the hooligans.</p>
