We start the show in the ring for a contract signing between National champion Rob Van Dam and Crowning Glory Series winner Chris Jericho. Bret Hart chairs proceedings and everything is handled with respect and decorum and passes by peacefully, though both men say they will leave Crowning Glory IX as the PSW National champion. <strong>72</strong></p><p>

Bret Hart was very poor improvising dialogue.</p><p>

Chris Jericho looked good.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Amazing Red & Christopher Daniels v America's Most Wanted</strong></p><p>

In a bout that had solid in-ring action but non-existent crowd heat, Red & Daniels defeated America's Most Wanted in 5:46 when Amazing Red defeated James Storm by pinfall with a Red Eye. <strong>51</strong></p><p> </p><p>

A wild brawl is happening backstage between Jeff Jarrett and Lance Storm. The brawl is even until Jeff Jarrett manages to trap Lance Storm under a conveniently left stretch of steel link fence – the same type that is used for steel cages matches. Jarrett repeated stomps on Lance through the fence leaving Lance in a bad way as he walks off. <strong>50</strong></p><p>

Jeff Jarrett has switched to an Arrogant gimmick, rated 54.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Alex Shelley v T. J. Perkins</strong></p><p>

In a bout that had solid in-ring action but non-existent crowd heat, T.J. Perkins defeated Alex Shelley in 7:35 by pinfall. <strong>38</strong></p><p>

The two didn't click at all and it showed in their performances.</p><p> </p><p>

Bret Hart sits behind his Director of Operations desk. With him in his office is Yoshihiro Tajiri. Bret addresses the TV champion Super Dragon, telling him should he still be champion at Crowning Glory IX then he will have a buzzsaw of a challenge at Crowning Glory IX. <strong>49</strong></p><p>

Bret Hart struggled going off script.</p><p> </p><p>

Super Dragon has won his last five matches.</p><p> </p><p>

CM Punk speaks from the backstage interview area. He talks of his angst that it has come to this between him and Colt Cabana, that they have to fight at Crowning Glory IX instead of challenge for the National Tag Team Championship. He finishes by saying he will do what he has to do. <strong>40</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Chris Benoit v Roderick Strong</strong></p><p>

In a match that had some good action but not much in the way of heat, Roderick Strong defeated Chris Benoit in 11:33 by pinfall with a roll up. Roderick Strong celebrates the most high profile victory of his career as Benoit looks disgusted with himself. <strong>68</strong></p><p>

Roderick Strong is improving in rumble skills.</p><p> </p><p>

Drew McIntyre strides to the ring. He calls out the Youth champion Ricky Steamboat Jr. The Scot tells the son of a dragon that he has something he wants, and challenges him to put the title on the line at Crowning Glory IX. Steamboat says he will be glad to, but he ain't giving up the title. <strong>25</strong></p><p>

Drew McIntyre has switched to a The Future gimmick, rated 70.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>AJ Styles & Chris Jericho v Matt Sydal & Rob Van Dam (National champion)</strong></p><p>

The final show before Crowning Glory IX starts in the office of the Director of Operations. Bret Hart says it is time to play Dragon's Army at their own game and he makes the National Tag Team Championship between the champions and the Crowning Glory Tag Team Series winners New Wave a no disqualification match. 67

Bret Hart struggled when going off script.

Caprice Coleman & Stu Sanders v The Jackson 2

In a bout that had solid in-ring action but non-existent crowd heat, The Jackson Two defeated Caprice Coleman & Stu Sanders in 8:10 when Nick Jackson defeated Caprice Coleman by pinfall with a We're Nothing To Do With Michael. 50

Caprice Coleman and Stu Sanders displayed excellent chemistry.

The Jackson 2 showed great chemistry.

Nick Jackson is improving in flying skills.

The Jackson 2's losing streak has ended at ten.

Rob Van Dam, Matt Sydal and Jeff Jarrett are backstage talking about tonight's six man tag team main event. All three say they will kick ass tonight and at Crowning Glory IX. 60

Matt Sydal is developing better performance skills.

Christian York v Roderick Strong

In a bout that had solid in-ring action but not much in the way of heat, Roderick Strong defeated Christian York in 7:39 by pinfall with a CX 02. 61

It is the turn of AJ Styles, Chris Jericho and Lance Storm to speak about the main event tonight. There are three completely different personalities here and yet they managed to compliment each other pretty well. They say tonight is a preview of what is to come at Crowning Glory IX. 63

John Cena comes out to the ring. Cena says he has not got a match for Sunday night at Crowning Glory IX and so he issues a challenge to anybody in the back who wants to take him on. Keiji Sakoda's music hits and the Japanese star accepts Cena's challenge and says sayornara until Sunday. 62

John Cena came across well.

Keiji Sakoda performed poorly.

AJ Styles, Chris Jericho & Lance Storm v Jeff Jarrett, Matt Sydal & Rob Van Dam (National champion)

A big main event with ramifications for who has the momentum going into Sunday's big night at Crowning Glory IX. The match started off chaotic with all six men brawling before the bell rang. Sometime during a commercial break referee Bruce Gray somehow got everybody until control and we had a match.

All six men got their share of offence in, all six men hit their finishers to no avail. Jeff Jarrett avoided Lance Storm as much as he could and it was the stoic Canadian who won the match for his team in 19:47 when Lance Storm defeated Matt Sydal by submission with a Canadian Maple Leaf. 79 – match of the night

Pyro goes off and a local South Carolina band plays us in to PSW's biggest show of the year… Crowning Glory IX.</p><p>

<strong>CM Punk v Colt Cabana</strong></p><p>

The atmosphere is tense in our opener as best friends and tag team partners have seen their relationship go a little sour in recent weeks and they have now become 'frenemies'. The two were initially a little reluctant to lock up, though after a minute or so the battle heated up.</p><p>

The contest went back and forth with both men scoring a number of near falls. Punk had Cabana set up for the Pepsi Plunge. Cabana managed to block it, turned it into offence of his own and this lead to a pinfall victory in 17:59 by with a Colt 45. <strong>80</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Following the match, Colt Cabana celebrates his win in the ring. A defeated Punk pulls himself up to his feet by the ropes. A wary Cabana sees Punk approaching him. Punk mouths “I'm sorry” and he hugs Colt, much to his friend and partner's delight. <strong>43</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>PSW YOUTH CHAMPIONSHIP</strong></p><p><strong>

Ricky Steamboat Jr (champion) v Drew McIntyre</strong></p><p>

A good match between two youngsters loaded with potential. The Youth Championship has proved to be a springboard for some past champions to move higher up the PSW pecking order and both wrestlers in this match could well do this. Another even contest saw the current champion just edge out his challenger in 13:25 by pinfall with a Flying Karate Chop. Ricky Steamboat Jr. makes defence number 3 of his PSW Youth Championship title. <strong>50</strong></p><p>

Ricky Steamboat Jr has won his last six matches.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Londrick v Spanish Announce Team</strong></p><p>

Two former title holders squared off in this tag team contest and it was another level match up. Spanish Announce Team haven't had the best of times since losing the National Tag Team Championship to Dragon's Army a few months ago and their recent form continued in this trend when Londrick wrapped up the win in 12:36 when Paul London defeated Jose Maximo by pinfall with a London Calling. <strong>64</strong></p><p>

Jose Maximo is improving in rumble skills.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>PSW WOMEN'S CHAMPIONSHIP</strong></p><p><strong>

Nora Greenwald (champion) v Melissa</strong></p><p>

Both these women have been impressive since the women's division was born in PSW. Melissa looked great in winning the inaugural Crowning Glory Women's Series while Nora has been superb as the Women's champion and remains undefeated in PSW.</p><p>

This was another very close match. Melissa had her chances to win the match but Nora kept digging deep and kicking out. Nora's resilience saw her through to a tight victory in 12:53 by pinfall with a Molly Go Round. Nora Greenwald makes defence number 5 of her PSW Women's Championship title. <strong>64</strong></p><p>

Nora Greenwald has won her first eight matches.</p><p> </p><p>

Chris Jericho speaks from the backstage interview area. He keeps it simple, he says he is taking back the PSW National Championship tonight and while he respects Rob Van Dam as champion, it is he who stands in his way so Jericho says he will beat him tonight. <strong>84</strong></p><p>

Chris Jericho struggled when going off script.</p><p>

Chris Jericho needs something to freshen his character up.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>PSW NATIONAL TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP</strong></p><p><strong>

NO DISQUALIFICATION MATCH</strong></p><p><strong>

Dragon's Army (Iven Lessard & Iven Michaud, champions) v New Wave</strong></p><p>

Dragon's Army's National Tag Team Championship reign has been one associated with chaos. Even before they became champions, they were kidnapping, gang attacking and even threatened to behead Davey Boy Smith. Since becoming champions their matches have been full of interference from the other wrestlers dressed as Super Dragon, two of which we still don't know the identity of. So when Bret Hart made this a no disqualification match, everything looked in favour of the champions.</p><p>

The match followed a familiar pattern when the Crowning Glory Tag Team champions gained sustained control of the match. This pattern continued when three more Super Dragons ran into the ring, including the Super Dragon who was carrying the TV Title. The match became a five on two assault and all looked lost for New Wave.</p><p>

That was until the odds were evened up when CM Punk, Colt Cabana and none other than Bret Hart himself joined the chaos. Punk, Colt and Bret took care of the three Super Dragons not officially in the match and this allowed the challengers to regain their composure, take back control of the match and claim victory in 11:58 when Austin Aries defeated Iven Michaud by pinfall with a Brainbuster. New Wave win the PSW National Tag Team Championship titles. <strong>73</strong></p><p>

Iven Michaud is improving in rumble skills.</p><p>

New Wave have won their last nine matches.</p><p>

Dragon's Army win streak ends at ten.</p><p> </p><p>

<span>http://i887.photobucket.com/albums/ac78/Nobby_McDonald/GenericTV01_zps79d95516.jpg</span></p><p>

<strong>PSW TV TITLE</strong></p><p><strong>

Super Dragon (champion) v Yoshihiro Tajiri</strong></p><p>

Super Dragon remained in the ring, a TV Title defence against the Japanese Buzzsaw. Unlike his fellow Super Dragons, his TV Title reign has been a lot more credible with only an odd moment of interference from the rest of his group.</p><p>

This match followed in the same vain, possibly because his fellow Super Dragons were feeling the effects of what transpired in the National Tag Team Championship match before it. This defence was not easy – Tajiri is unorthodox and a difficult opponent to face, but Dragon managed to retain in 13:45 by submission. Super Dragon makes defence number 6 of his PSW TV Title. <strong>60</strong></p><p>

Super Dragon has won her last seven matches.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Christopher Daniels v Eiji Ezaki</strong></p><p>

This match saw some great action between two wrestlers who have seen themselves rise to prominence in the past twelve months in PSW, with Daniels form in recent weeks being his best ever including a win over Chris Benoit. He picked up another great win here and he is surely back in contention for a chance at the National Championship again soon. His latest triumph arrived in 15:53 by pinfall with a Last Rites. <strong>74</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Rob Van Dam speaks from backstage. He says he is the National champion now and he will be the National champion at the end of tonight. He tells Chris Jericho to bring the best he has, because even that won't be good enough. <strong>64</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>John Cena v Keiji Sakoda</strong></p><p>

Frustrated at not featuring on the Crowning Glory IX card, John Cena issued an open challenge on PSW Weekly. His challenge was answered by the all round bad ass Keiji Sakoda.</p><p>

A hard hitting match also saw it's share of quality wrestling as both men utilised their mat skills and their fists to their advantage. The bruising contest saw John Cena reversing Keiji Sakoda's finisher into his own in 15:01 by pinfall with a Spin-out powerbomb. <strong>82</strong></p><p>

The two have pretty good chemistry and it lifted the match.</p><p> </p><p>

<img alt="images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQAAhhKBqJE0-8TglaUNfaqsRQ_t7PeY1MZnZOMuMz3reDRU9bZyA" data-src="https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQAAhhKBqJE0-8TglaUNfaqsRQ_t7PeY1MZnZOMuMz3reDRU9bZyA" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p>

<strong>STEEL CAGE MATCH</strong></p><p><strong>

Jeff Jarrett v Lance Storm</strong></p><p>

This feud has been boiling over for a while. After teaming up a couple of times and looking very impressive, for reasons only known to himself, Jeff Jarrett turned on Lance Storm by attacking him with a guitar he had given Lance as a gift. After some wild brawling and sneak attacks, Director of Operations Bret Hart set up this cage match between the two.</p><p>

It was a very good match which saw some great action though oddly the crowd were a bit flat. Both men utilised the cage as a weapon and both men bled.</p><p>

The vicious nature of the match took it's toil on both competitors and the pace slowed as the match went on. Both men climbed to the top of the cage and traded punches. Lance Storm looked wobbly, but while holding on to the top of the cage, managed to deliver a version of a Super Kick that send Jarrett failing to the canvas below. Instead of climbing out to win, Lance Storm climbed back down into the ring and locked Jarrett in the Canadian Maple Leaf, which lead to Jarrett tapping out in 22:14. <strong>78</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>AJ Styles v Matt Sydal</strong></p><p>

These two have had some classics in the past. While this one did not live up to the best of their previous encounters, it was still a very good match.</p><p>

In the past, AJ Styles has got the better of Matt Sydal, winning four of their six matches with one draw. Many expected AJ to win with this record.</p><p>

That's not how things transpired. With the action fast paced and often aerial, Matt Sydal was able to capitalise on AJ Styles missing a Spiral Tap by racing to the top rope himself and hitting the Shooting Star Press to win in 23:59 by pinfall. <strong>82</strong></p><p>

AJ Styles has overtaken Kevin Steen in competing in the most singles matches in PSW at 125.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>PSW NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP</strong></p><p><strong>

Rob Van Dam (champion) v Chris Jericho</strong></p><p>

National champion versus Crowning Glory Series winner as is now traditional at PSW's biggest show. This was didn't disappoint and was a PSW classic.</p><p>

Both men are exciting wrestlers with tremendous fan support. They are both among the best in the air and are very good on the mat. Tie that in with a crowd over eleven thousand torn between the two and we have a high quality main event.</p><p>

Van Dam hit Jericho with everything he had. Numerous kicks, Rolling Thunder, Split Legged Moonsault and even a Five Star Frog Splash couldn't put Jericho away. That said, RVD was resilient himself as Jericho failed to win with a Lionsault, Missile Drop Kick and the Lion Tamer.</p><p>

When RVD went for a Rolling Thunder for a second time, Jericho bought his knees up. The challenger then wasted no time in locking in the Lion Tamer for a second time. RVD writhed in pain and refused to tap out, staying in the hold for approaching three minutes before eventually relenting in 31:51 and tapping out. Chris Jericho wins the PSW National Championship title. Jericho celebrates becoming a two time PSW National champion and in a great show of respect he helps up the fallen champion and raises his arm in the ring as the two receive a standing ovation from the PSW faithful. <strong>96 – match of the night</strong></p><p>

<img alt="images?q=tbn:ANd9GcSVLEtTVddTWBhlP6WwuKYJwCe6FcxBcswuvur5hWrEJrTjhh3KBg" data-src="https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcSVLEtTVddTWBhlP6WwuKYJwCe6FcxBcswuvur5hWrEJrTjhh3KBg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p>

Chris Jericho has won his last eight matches.</p><p>

Rob Van Dam's win streak ends at six.</p><p> </p><p>
