<p>PRE SHOW</p><p>

In a bout that featured great action and average heat, John Cena defeated Alex Wright in 10:45 by pinfall with a Spin-out powerbomb. <strong>69</strong></p><p>

In a match that had some good action but not much in the way of heat, Desperate Measures defeated Spanish Announce Team in 9:50 when Aaron Stevens defeated Jose Maximo by submission. <strong>58</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>GRAPPLER'S LEAGUE THIRD DIVISION</strong></p><p><strong>

Drew McIntyre v Jay Lethal</strong></p><p>

Code of Honour 2009 starts with one of four Grappler's League matches tonight, one from each division. Lethal utilised his faster pace to his advantage as much as he could. However, it was McIntyre's better strength and more physical style that won the day in 10:35 by pinfall with a G-Spot and one of the favourites for promotion in the Third Division chalks up a win in his opening match. <strong>54</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>PSW WOMEN'S CHAMPIONSHIP</strong></p><p><strong>

Nora Greenwald (champion) v Amazing Kong</strong></p><p>

Kong had given Greenwald a beating on PSW Weekly only five nights ago and the champion was clearly struggling in the opening moments of this contest. She struggled with her mobility and Kong took full advantage, unleashing an array of power moves that would have put most women away.</p><p>

Nora Greenwald isn't most women though and she withstood Kong's onslaught. When Kong missed a second rope splash, this was all the champ needed to put together a string of offensive moves which cumulated in victory in 8:50 by pinfall with a Molly Go Round. Nora Greenwald makes defence number 7 of her PSW Women's Championship title. <strong>57</strong></p><p>

Nora Greenwald has won her first ten matches.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>GRAPPLER'S LEAGUE SECOND DIVISION</strong></p><p><strong>

Jeff Jarrett v Low Ki</strong></p><p>

An unusually below par Jeff Jarrrett struggled in this contest with the always dangerous Low Ki, who hit Jarrett with a number of stiff punches and kicks and also some high flying offence. Jarrett looked out of it, until he somehow pulled it out of the bag in 12:53 by submission with a Figure-Four Leglock. <strong>57</strong></p><p>

Low Ki competed in his 50th match as a singles wrestler. He has lost his last six.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>PSW YOUTH CHAMPIONSHIP</strong></p><p><strong>

Ricky Steamboat Jr (champion) v T. J. Perkins</strong></p><p>

A decent, high paced, high flying match between two guys loaded with potential. Steamboat Jr has been impressive as the Youth champion but it was on this night that his reign ended as T. J. P. became the first two time PSW Youth champion. Perkins got the win in 12:34 by submission. T.J. Perkins wins the PSW Youth Championship title and his delight was plain to see as he celebrated in the ring. <strong>53</strong></p><p>

Ricky Steamboat Jr is improving in flying skills.</p><p>

Ricky Steamboat Jr's win streak ends at eight.</p><p>

<img alt="images?q=tbn:ANd9GcSWjzZggmRgtX1_mNFFzIxks3jS59G312waHjf3dnVhE2PxOIfhnw" data-src="https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcSWjzZggmRgtX1_mNFFzIxks3jS59G312waHjf3dnVhE2PxOIfhnw" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

In the backstage interview area, Chris Jericho has some words about tonight's main event. The current National champion says that he and Lance Storm were partners in the past and are friends now, but when the bell goes tonight everything is forgotten and Jericho's focus will solely be on retaining the title… at any cost. <strong>84</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>GRAPPLER'S LEAGUE FIRST DIVISION</strong></p><p><strong>

Christopher Daniels v Keiji Sakoda</strong></p><p>

Daniels makes his Grappler's League debut against the tough Japanese star who won promotion last season from the Second Division. Daniels has been very impressive in PSW, impressive enough to have recently challenged for the National Championship. This has seen him enter the Grappler's League as the top wild card into the First Division.</p><p>

The match itself was a good, even bout but not as entertaining as many had hoped. Both men scored near falls though Daniels scored a debut victory in 13:46 by pinfall with a Last Rites. <strong>57</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<span>http://i887.photobucket.com/albums/ac78/Nobby_McDonald/GenericTagTeam02_zpsa9f639bc.jpg</span></p><p>

<strong>PSW NATIONAL TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP</strong></p><p><strong>

New Wave (champions) v CM Punk & Colt Cabana</strong></p><p>

This was a highly anticipated match between two of the best tag teams around and also featured three of the four men who made up the New Wave group, of which the current champions take their name as a team.</p><p>

The match was exciting with many near falls from both teams. All four men hit their finishers, though each time an opponent was there to make the save. The fifth finisher to be hit was the decisive moment of the match and happened in 17:37 when Kevin Steen defeated Colt Cabana by pinfall with a Steenalizer. New Wave make defence number 2 of their PSW National Tag Team Championship titles. <strong>72</strong></p><p>

New Wave have won their last eleven matches.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>GRAPPLER'S LEAGUE PREMIER DIVISION</strong></p><p><strong>

AJ Styles v Rob Van Dam</strong></p><p>

A lot of fans were very excited about this match and the two didn't disappoint, though may have been helped a little had the crowd in the arena been hotter.</p><p>

The match was fast and featured a heavy amount of aerial action. When Styles hit a Phenomenal Forearm, RVD rolled out of the ring. When he hit a Styles Clash, RVD was too close to the ropes and put his right foot on the bottom rope to stop the pin. Similarly, when RVD hit Rolling Thunder, AJ grabbed the rope with his left arm and when RVD when for the Five Star Frog Splash, AJ brought his knees up to counter.</p><p>

All this action and near misses ended up leading to one thing – a twenty minutes time limit draw and both men frustrated they didn't win. <strong>79</strong></p><p>

Rob Van Dam debuted a Highlight Reel gimmick, rated 64.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>PSW NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP</strong></p><p><strong>

'The Show Stealer' Chris Jericho (champion) v Lance Storm</strong></p><p>

Some great wrestling between the champion and one of the best technical wrestlers active today. Again the crowd wasn't as hot as it could have been… maybe if they had been in front of ten thousand plus Canadians the crowd would have been red hot watching two of their best ever.</p><p>

Lance was his normal measured self, making no mistakes and being very difficult to beat.. Jericho was his normal self – being exciting, hitting a flurry of offence and being difficult to put away. This was going to go on for a while. And it did, past the half hour mark with the quality on display still as high as in the opening minutes.</p><p>

A couple of minutes later, the match did end, thanks to Jericho locking in his finisher in 33:45 by submission with a Lion Tamer. Chris Jericho makes defence number 2 of his PSW National Championship title. <strong>82 – match of the night</strong></p><p>

Chris Jericho has won his last eleven matches.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

Yeah. I picked TJP to win the Youth Championship. 2Sweet won the prize to pick the next Youth Championship but he hasn't sent me a pick. Given he only predicted on 1 out of 21 shows in the Crowning Glory Prediction Series I'm not expecting to get one.

I've made a right cock up here. I wrote up the latest episode of Weekly as normal... but then I've gone and saved the next show - Showcase - over it and therefore have lost it. So I'm going to have to do a quick recap of sorts...

Pre show - America's Most Wanted beat Destrey Lapointe & Julius Turcotte.

Bret Hart announced a number one contender gauntlet battle royal, with order of entry being determined by the PSW rankings.

Eddie Edwards beat Amazing Red in Grappler's League Third Division.

Roderick Strong said the most success in his PSW career came when Sting was his manager. So he's got a new manager... James Mitchell.

Joe Hennig beat Alex Shelley to retain the TV Title.

AJ Styles says he can't believe his ranking has dropped so low he's not in tonight's battle royal.

Austin Aries beat Caprice Coleman in Grappler's League First Division.

Bret Hart names Desperate Measures the next challengers for New Wave's National Tag Team Championship.

Aaron Stevens drew with Yoshihiro Tajiri in Grappler's League Premier Division when James Mitchell led Roderick Strong to the ring who attacked both men with a steel chair.

Chris Jericho entered the arena for guest commentary on the main event.

Jeff Jarrett won the number one contender battle royal (match of the night). He entered number 4. He last eliminated John Cena and Lance Storm when he double crossed Lance Storm and lifted them both over the ropes.
