<strong>PSW WEEKLY</strong></p><p>

Broadcast on America One on Tuesday late evening</p><p>

Announcers: Potter & Dusty Rhodes</p><p>

Germain Arena, Estero, Florida (7,128 capacity)</p><p>

<img alt="images?q=tbn:ANd9GcTymZLUih5tN_WxRwA3VR0AHZJ8RhSFYWbJPC1NYpHnUbmupl0L" data-src="https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcTymZLUih5tN_WxRwA3VR0AHZJ8RhSFYWbJPC1NYpHnUbmupl0L" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

We start with Chris Jericho and T. J. Perkins in the ring. The National champion tells the former Youth champion that he isn't ready for this shot and on Sunday night at Choice of the New Generation he is going to get beaten badly. T. J. P. claims he is ready and he is joined by his occasional tag team partner Matt Sydal who gives him support, saying he has the ability to beat Jericho. Jericho retorts by saying he will be Sydal tonight as a warm up for beating Perkins on Sunday night. <strong>74</strong></p><p>

Chris Jericho was superb without a script.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Air Paris v Alex Shelley</strong></p><p>

Paris makes his PSW debut. In a match that had some good action but not much in the way of heat, Air Paris defeated Alex Shelley in 8:24 by pinfall. <strong>64</strong></p><p>

Air Paris debuted with a Teen Idol gimmick, rated 48.</p><p>

Alex Shelley has lost his last seven matches.</p><p> </p><p>

Backstage and John Cena has started an interview regarding his Grappler's League match with Jeff Jarrett on Sunday night when Jarrett interrupts. The two then trade insults before shoving each other. This prompts security and PSW officials to wade in to keep them seperated. <strong>67</strong></p><p>

Jeff Jarrett is learning to show more charisma.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Desperate Measures v Londrick</strong></p><p>

In a match that had some good action but not much in the way of heat, Londrick defeated Desperate Measures in 10:28 when Paul London defeated Yoshihiro Tajiri by pinfall with a London Calling. <strong>65</strong></p><p>

Aaron Stevens is improving in technical skills.</p><p> </p><p>

Bret Hart is in his office. The Director of Operations says what happens at the start of the show has given him an idea… and that is if Matt Sydal beats Chris Jericho in tonight's Grappler's League main event, he will add him to the championship match at Choice of the New Generation. <strong>73</strong></p><p>

Bret Hart improvised well.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>GRAPPLER'S LEAGUE FIRST DIVISION</strong></p><p><strong>

Caprice Coleman (0-0-2) v Christopher Daniels (3-0-0, National Tag Team champion, with James Mitchell)</strong></p><p>

In a match that had some good action but not much in the way of heat, Christopher Daniels defeated Caprice Coleman in 9:45 by pinfall with a Last Rites. <strong>65</strong></p><p> </p><p>

We have our second verbal altercation of the night, as we see CM Punk and Rob Van Dam trade verbal volleys ahead of their Grappler's League Premier Division match on Sunday night. Punk gets the edge verbally, not that the ever cool RVD is bothered. <strong>63</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>PSW TV TITLE</strong></p><p><strong>

Roderick Strong (champion, with James Mitchell) v Colt Cabana</strong></p><p>

In a match that had some good action but not much in the way of heat, Roderick Strong defeated Colt Cabana in 11:59 by pinfall with a CX 02 after James Mitchell interfered. Roderick Strong makes defence number 9 of his PSW TV Title. <strong>64</strong></p><p>

Roderick Strong is improving in rumble skills.</p><p>

Roderick Strong has won his last fourteen matches.</p><p> </p><p>

Chris Jericho is standing behind the curtain ready to make his entrance for the main event. He tells the camera he will beat Matt Sydal tonight and T. J. Perkins will have a preview of what he will expect on Sunday night. <strong>83</strong></p><p>

Chris Jericho was good.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>GRAPPLER'S LEAGUE PREMIER DIVISION</strong></p><p><strong>

Chris Jericho (3-0-0, National champion) v Matt Sydal (0-0-3)</strong></p><p>

In a bout that featured great action and a good crowd, Chris Jericho defeated Matt Sydal in 17:25 by submission with a Lion Tamer. <strong>91 – match of the night</strong></p><p>

Chris Jericho has won his last sixteen matches.</p><p> </p><p>

<p>PRE SHOW</p><p>

In a match that had some good action but not much in the way of heat, Randy Orton defeated Yoshihiro Tajiri in 9:44 by pinfall with an O-Zone. <strong>61</strong></p><p>

Randy Orton has won his last five matches.</p><p> </p><p>

In a match that had some good action and average heat, Eiji Ezaki defeated Keiji Sakoda in 10:54 by pinfall with a Phoenix Splash. <strong>60</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<iframe width="560" height="315" src="<a href="https://www.youtube.com/embed/kVE9HB7iRFA" rel="external nofollow">https://www.youtube.com/embed/kVE9HB7iRFA"</a> frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Choice of the New Generation 2010</strong></p><p>

Sunday, week 2, February 2010</p><p>

Birmingham-Jefferson Arena, Birmingham, Alabama</p><p>

<img alt="images?q=tbn:ANd9GcSuS6qYDkqP4b_F9xAqF7DXu5ELKRmJGwDmoUOntTrhNXSOegkO" data-src="https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcSuS6qYDkqP4b_F9xAqF7DXu5ELKRmJGwDmoUOntTrhNXSOegkO" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

We start Choice of the New Generation with Bret Hart in the ring. The Director of Operations looks delighted, in fact he says as much as he announces he is delighted to welcome back to PSW after a life threatening illness… Teddy Hart…</p><p>

<iframe width="560" height="315" src="<a href="https://www.youtube.com/embed/gxyLRH6Pbrg" rel="external nofollow">https://www.youtube.com/embed/gxyLRH6Pbrg"</a> frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe></p><p>

The crowd break out in a 'Welcome Back' chant as Teddy makes his way to the ring. As he climbs in, the emotion is getting the better of him. He thanks the fans for their support and all their well wishes since he fell ill with a brain tumour and he is thankful he is back in the ring as he thought he never would again.</p><p>

Bret hugs Teddy and then tells him he has a lot of catching up to do. He says he is understandably behind in the Grappler's League matches so he will have to fight often to catch back up. He tells Teddy that on Showcase next Friday in Hawaii he will face Amazing Red in his first Grappler's League match of the season and tomorrow night on PSW Weekly, he will have a warm up match – Teddy's first match in over a year. Teddy is nearly crying as he hugs his Uncle Bret. <strong>46</strong></p><p>

Bret Hart did not do well without a script.</p><p>

Bret Hart came across well. (Yes – the game says both!)</p><p>

Teddy Hart was very underwhelming.</p><p>

Teddy Hart is improving at acting.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>GRAPPLER'S LEAGUE THIRD DIVISION</strong></p><p><strong>

Eddie Colon (2-0-1) v Eddie Edwards (2-0-1)</strong></p><p>

The opening match was good but perhaps a little disappointing from what people expected. It was keenly contested as the action went back and forth and in the air. It was the Wolf who beat the Colon in 10:22 by submission. <strong>57</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>PSW YOUTH CHAMPIONSHIP</strong></p><p><strong>

Drew McIntyre v Ricky Steamboat Jr</strong></p><p>

A decent match, similar in standard to the opening as a PSW original fought a former champion for the vacant Youth Championship. It was the Scot's hard hitting style that won the day in 12:22 by pinfall with a Future Shock DDT. Drew McIntyre wins the PSW Youth Championship title. <strong>60</strong></p><p>

Ricky Steamboat Jr is improving in rumble skills.</p><p>

Drew McIntyre has won his last five matches.</p><p>

<img alt="images?q=tbn:ANd9GcTU16RY6SIoywhXD08nMYQ4PCADa6kTWrMUG6Am4pWZqlf1jt-h" data-src="https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcTU16RY6SIoywhXD08nMYQ4PCADa6kTWrMUG6Am4pWZqlf1jt-h" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>GRAPPLER'S LEAGUE FIRST DIVISION</strong></p><p><strong>

Colt Cabana (0-0-3) v Lance Storm (3-0-0)</strong></p><p>

Colt is desperate to halt his losing start in the Grappler's League this season and it showed in this match, as he fought a high risk strategy. The trouble is, Lance Storm is the last person to adopt that tactic against as the ever stoic, high focused Canadian maintained his perfect this season with a solid victory in 12:01 by submission with a Canadian Maple Leaf. Colt is now staring the one relegation spot in the face while Lance is in a battle with Christopher Daniels to win the division. <strong>64</strong></p><p>

Lance Storm has won his last five matches.</p><p>

Colt Cabana has lost his last five matches.</p><p> </p><p>

T. J. Perkins is backstage. He has a warning for Chris Jericho… underestimate me at your peril. <strong>66</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>PSW WOMEN'S CHAMPIONSHIP</strong></p><p><strong>

Melissa (champion) v Rebecca Knox</strong></p><p>

Melissa has been impressive as champion since dethroning Nora Greenwald at Christmas Feast and despite a tough challenge from Rebecca Knox, she kept up her run as champion in 11:26 by pinfall. Melissa makes defence number 4 of her PSW Women's Championship title. After the match the champion shook the Irish woman's hand in a great act of sportswomanship. <strong>66</strong></p><p>

Melissa has won her last seven matches.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>GRAPPLER'S LEAGUE PREMIER DIVISION</strong></p><p><strong>

CM Punk (1-0-2) v Rob Van Dam (2-1-0)</strong></p><p>

A tremendous match that suffered slightly due to the crowd not being fully into the action, which was harsh on both men's effort. Both men fought their usual style and hit their usual arsenal of impressive moves and it was RVD who prevailed in 15:11 by pinfall with a Frog Splash. <strong>77</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>PSW NATIONAL TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP</strong></p><p><strong>

Triple X (champions, with James Mitchell) v New Wave</strong></p><p>

The match was good with some great spots. What wasn't good was Low Ki who looked terrible in the ring. Despite this, the former champions could not regain the titles in their contractual rematch as James Mitchell led his charges to the win in 15:38 when Low Ki defeated Kevin Steen by submission. Triple X make defence number 2 of their PSW National Tag Team Championship titles. <strong>71</strong></p><p>

Kevin Steen needs something to freshen his character up.</p><p>

Low Ki clearly wasn't trying at all.</p><p> </p><p>

Chris Jericho has his turn backstage to talk about tonight's main event. He says it ultimately doesn't matter who he is facing tonight, the only thing that matters is that he keeps the National Championship. This could be considered insulting to Perkins. <strong>89</strong></p><p>

Chris Jericho was superb without a script.</p><p>

Chris Jericho looked good.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Alex Wright v Jimmy Yang</strong></p><p>

Yang had an impressive debut last month and while he won again, this outing against Alex Wright was not as impressive. It wasn't bad, but better was expected and it was on a par with the opening matches of the night. Yang won in 13:08 by pinfall with a Yang Time. <strong>61</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>GRAPPLER'S LEAGUE SECOND DIVISION</strong></p><p><strong>

Jeff Jarrett (3-0-0) v John Cena (3-0-0)</strong></p><p>

Some great action and the biggest let down was the fact the match didn't go on for longer than it did. That is thanks to the Grappler's League rules where matches outside the Premier Division have a fifteen minutes time limit. This one went the distance with neither man coming too close to picking up the win. It could have gone another fifteen minutes before we would have had a winner. It looks like the battle in this division will be for the third and final promotion spot into the expanding Second Division, as unless there is an upset these two will be tied at the top. <strong>72</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>PSW NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP</strong></p><p><strong>

Chris Jericho (champion) v T. J. Perkins</strong></p><p>

Perkins has emerged from tonight with a lot of credit. Not only did he perform well with the mic earlier, but he held his own with the experienced champion for much of the night. Jericho is no slow Joe in the ring but even he struggled to keep up with Perkins for some of the match.</p><p>

Perkins came close a couple of times to shocking the world and walking out with the belt. Jericho hung on though and made a successful defence in 19:30 by submission with a Lion Tamer. Chris Jericho makes defence number 5 of his PSW National Championship title. <strong>83 – match of the night</strong></p><p>

Chris Jericho has won his last seventeen matches.</p><p>

T. J. Perkins' win streak ends at nine.</p><p> </p><p>

Many thought Jericho would acknowledge T. J. Perkins' effort after the match. However, he didn't get chance to...</p><p>

<iframe width="560" height="315" src="<a href="https://www.youtube.com/embed/TIOFBmN9M0k" rel="external nofollow">https://www.youtube.com/embed/TIOFBmN9M0k"</a> frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe></p><p>

Chris Hero strides out to the ring, carrying the Feast or Fired briefcase that he won two months ago. He slides into the ring and gets in Jericho's face. He tells Jericho that he hopes he hasn't forgotten about this little briefcase as he hasn't. The normally cocky Jericho actually looks a little worried. Hero smiles, saying “I will pick my time” before he leaves. <strong>69</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Randy Orton beat Yoshihiro Tajiri (pre show)</p><p> </p><p>

WRITER'S NOTES</p><p>

I was very pleased with the C+ rating for T. J. Perkins' promo. It was much higher than expected. He's got a big future here.</p><p>

Low Ki was very unprofessional in the National Tag Team Championship match and he will suffer consequences as a result.</p>

We are on the road to Lethal and we start the show with National champion Chris Jericho and Director of Operations Bret Hart in the ring. Lance Storm and Rob Van Dam, the Ultimate Battle for Survival winners join them in the ring. Bret says that the Lethal main event was determined last night when Chris Jericho retained the National Championship over T. J. Perkins. Jericho says he will only lose the title when he retires. Lance and RVD both say that they will win the title at Lethal. Bret says we will all see in four weeks. <strong>78</strong></p><p>

Bret Hart did a masterful job improvising with the crowd.</p><p>

Chris Jericho improvised well and his performance was good.</p><p>

Lance Storm was very underwhelming.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>GRAPPLER'S LEAGUE PREMIER DIVISION</strong></p><p><strong>

<strong>Austin Creed v Teddy Hart</strong></p><p>

Teddy Hart makes his return after more than a year out of action due to suffering from a brain tumour. As expected he showed ring rust but he still managed to win in 10:20 by pinfall with an Open Hart Surgery. <strong>57</strong></p><p> </p><p>

James Mitchell is backstage with his trio of champions. To his left are Christopher Daniels and Low Ki, the National Tag Team champions. To his right is Roderick Strong, the TV champion. Mitchell says his charges will be champions for a long time, and anybody who gets in their way will be crushed like bugs. <strong>34</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>GRAPPLER'S LEAGUE FIRST DIVISION</strong></p><p><strong>

Austin Aries (2-0-1) v Brian Kendrick (1-0-2)</strong></p><p>

In a match that had some good action but not much in the way of heat, Austin Aries defeated Brian Kendrick in 12:30 by pinfall with a 450 Splash. <strong>62</strong></p><p>

A lack of psychology saw the match drift a little.</p><p> </p><p>

Backstage and Chris Jericho is talking on his cell phone while holding the National Championship. Chris Hero walks up to him, carrying his Feast or Fired briefcase. He tells Jericho that he hopes he hasn't forgotten that he has this, because Hero is going to wait for when the opportunity is right and take what he has worked hard for many years… the National Championship. <strong>74</strong></p><p>
