<p>PRE SHOW</p><p>

In a bout that had solid in-ring action but non-existent crowd heat, Caprice Coleman defeated Christian York in 8:17 by pinfall with a Thermal Shock. <strong>46</strong></p><p>

Caprice Coleman's losing streak ends at five.</p><p>

Christian York has lost his last eight matches.</p><p>

In a match that had some good action but non-existent crowd heat, The Wolves defeated Spanish Announce Team in 10:05 when Eddie Edwards defeated Jose Maximo by pinfall with a Double Double Foot Stomp. <strong>60</strong></p><p>

Fireworks go off and Potter and Dusty Rhodes are at the announce desk welcoming everyone to Anniversary Show IX and they say tonight's main event sees National champion Chris Hero defend against Lethal winner John Cena. <strong>61</strong></p><p>

Potter has switched to a Fan Favourite gimmick, rated 66.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>GRAPPLER'S LEAGUE SECOND DIVISION</strong></p><p><strong>

Jeff Jarrett (5-1-0) v Rocky Romero (1-0-4)</strong></p><p>

This was a straight forward match for Jarrett as he looked comfortable throughout and picked up as easy a victory as he is likely to get in PSW in 7:48 by submission with a Figure-Four Leglock. The action is off to the kind of start that was expected. <strong>57</strong></p><p>

Rocky Romero has lost his last six matches.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>PSW YOUTH CHAMPIONSHIP</strong></p><p><strong>

Drew McIntyre (champion) v Ricky Steamboat Jr</strong></p><p>

McIntyre has been very impressive of late since becoming Youth champion and also in the Grappler's League. Steamboat Jr has also been looking good in his debut season in the Grappler's League. This match was for the Youth Championship.</p><p>

It was good, but perhaps a little short of the quality that many thought we would see as both these guys have the potential to reach the top in PSW. It was McIntyre who retained the title in 13:28 by pinfall with a G-Spot. Drew McIntyre makes defence number 4 of his PSW Youth Championship title. <strong>55</strong></p><p>

Drew McIntyre has won his last twelve matches.</p><p> </p><p>

Chris Hero is backstage. The National champion talks about every match being the biggest of his career so far and tonight is no different as he headlines one of PSW's biggest shows of the year and defends his title against Cena. Hero says he doesn't want to be known as the loser to the first Lethal winner to leave Anniversary Show as the champion. <strong>52</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>PSW TV TITLE</strong></p><p><strong>

Iven Michaud (champion) v Colt Cabana</strong></p><p>

The best thing to happen to Iven Michaud has been his tag team partner leaving PSW. Since then he has become TV champion and with every single title defence he has made he has looked more and more impressive. Potter and Dusty Rhodes talked during the Youth Championship match about the potential of McIntyre and Steamboat Jr. Here they talk about Iven Michaud's and how the future of PSW looks very bright.</p><p>

This was by no means an easy defence. Colt Cabana is experienced and skilled and provided the champion with plenty of difficulty and plenty to think about. The champion absorbed everything his challenger could throw at him and managed to keep the belt in 13:26 by pinfall with a Scorpion Slice. Iven Michaud makes defence number 9 of his PSW TV Title. <strong>65</strong></p><p>

Iven Michaud is improving in rumble skills.</p><p>

Iven Michaud has won his last twelve matches.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>PSW WOMEN'S CHAMPIONSHIP</strong></p><p><strong>

Melissa (champion) v Nora Greenwald</strong></p><p>

These two had a rivalry going until Melissa took the title, retained it and then Nora found herself out of the title picture for a little while. Nora earned her next shot at the title by recently defeating Rebecca Knox in a number one contender match.</p><p>

These two battled hard as was expected and the match went on for quite a while for a women's match. While it was Melissa who came out on top the last couple of times these women met, this time roles were reversed and Nora Greenwald became PSW's first two time Women's champion in 14:08 by pinfall with a Molly Go Round. Nora Greenwald wins the PSW Women's Championship title. <strong>56</strong></p><p>

The match went on for too long given who was involved.</p><p>

Nora Greenwald has won her last five matches.</p><p>

Melissa's win streak ends at nine.</p><p> </p><p>

John Cena is in the backstage interview area. John Cena says the past does not bother him, he is not bothered how many Lethal winners have failed to leave Anniversary Show as the PSW National champion. All he is bothered about is beating Chris Hero tonight and becoming the first Lethal winner to leave Anniversary Show as the National champion. <strong>82</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>GRAPPLER'S LEAGUE FIRST DIVISION</strong></p><p><strong>

Brian Kendrick (1-0-4) v Christopher Daniels (6-0-0, with James Mitchell)</strong></p><p>

A very good match though the crowd were surprisingly a little cold to it which was harsh on the two competitors involved who are excited to watch and gave their all.</p><p>

Daniels has been exemplary in the Grappler's League this season and he ends his season with a perfect seven wins from seven and he will be one that others will want to avoid in the Crowning Glory Series when that starts in July. Daniels won in 11:44 by pinfall with a Last Rites. <strong>71</strong></p><p>

Christopher Daniels has won his last seven matches.</p><p>

Brian Kendrick has lost his last six matches.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>PSW NATIONAL TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP</strong></p><p><strong>

To Kijar, With Love (champions) v New Wave</strong></p><p>

One of the most eagerly anticipated matches of the night, which says a lot given some of the other matches of the card. This promised exciting, fast paced action and a very competitive match. It didn't disappoint.</p><p>

The action went back and forth. On the mat and in the air. Both the challengers and the champions scored very near falls as the crowd were getting back into the action.</p><p>

The former champions weren't able to regain the titles though as the champions held on in 17:15 when T.J. Perkins defeated Kevin Steen by submission. To Kijar, With Love make defence number 2 of their PSW National Tag Team Championship titles. <strong>75</strong></p><p>

Kevin Steen is improving in flying skills.</p><p>

To Kijar, With Love have won their first eight matches as a team.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>SGT SLAUGHTER MEMORIAL CUP</strong></p><p><strong>

Sting, Eiji Ezaki, Randy Orton, Keiji Sakoda, Jimmy Yang, Alex Wright, Lance Storm, Kid Kash, Super Dragon, Mike Quackenbush, Yoshihiro Tajiri, CM Punk, Paul London, Roderick Strong, Joe Hennig, Air Paris, Reckless Youth, Marty Scurll, ???, ???</strong></p><p>

In the ring, seventeen competitors for the inaugural Sgt Slaughter Memorial Cup have assembled. Bret Hart comes to the stage and he says it is an honour that he can introduce the first ever Sgt Slaughter Memorial Cup where every year the cup will be won by the winner of a battle royal. He says that seventeen men are in the ring, three more will be walking down the aisle very shortly. He says it is time we saw an Icon…</p><p>

<iframe width="560" height="315" src="<a href="https://www.youtube.com/embed/8S4sKxc0AbY" rel="external nofollow">https://www.youtube.com/embed/8S4sKxc0AbY"</a> frameborder="0" gesture="media" allow="encrypted-media" allowfullscreen></iframe></p><p>

Sting enters the ring and Bret Hart says it is now time to introduce the two mystery entrants. First up of the pair to enter is someone the crowd are less enthused to see…</p><p>

<iframe width="560" height="315" src="<a href="https://www.youtube.com/embed/fvODyw_8Bn4" rel="external nofollow">https://www.youtube.com/embed/fvODyw_8Bn4"</a> frameborder="0" gesture="media" allow="encrypted-media" allowfullscreen></iframe></p><p>

Then the crowd go wild for the final entrant…</p><p>

<iframe width="560" height="315" src="<a href="https://www.youtube.com/embed/7w1mq6rAfMM" rel="external nofollow">https://www.youtube.com/embed/7w1mq6rAfMM"</a> frameborder="0" gesture="media" allow="encrypted-media" allowfullscreen></iframe></p><p>

Shawn Michaels gets in the ring, the bell rings and he sends Petey Williams immediately over the top rope with a Sweet Chin Music, prompting Potter to remark on commentary that “the Candian got destroyed”. Marty Scurll and Reckless Youth were also eliminated quickly before a few minutes went by without anybody else getting thrown out.</p><p>

Then, a few wrestlers were eliminated quickly within the space of three minutes. Alex Wright, Kid Kash, Super Dragon, Mike Quackenbush, Yoshihiri Tajiri, Paul London, Joe Hennig and Air Paris all went, leaving nine left. Again there was a spell with no eliminations.</p><p>

Lance Storm went next when he was eliminated by Jimmy Yang. Roderick Strong followed him, eliminated by the man who helped him to the TV Title in the past, Sting.</p><p>

CM Punk and Eiji Ezaki were battling on the ropes trying to eliminate the other when Shawn Michaels came up to them and hauled them both out. On the other side of the ring, Randy Orton eliminated Sting much to the crowd's disappointment. This left a final four of Jimmy Yang, Keiji Sakoda, Randy Orton and Shawn Michaels.</p><p>

Orton and Michaels had a huddle and appeared to make a pact. They went after Yang and Sakoda and their plan worked as between them they eliminated both of their adversaries.</p><p>

Orton and Michaels pact then was ended. The two brawled around the ring for a couple of minutes and Michaels had Orton on the ropes. He went to finish the match the exact same way as he started. However, Orton ducked and lifted Michaels over the ropes in a modified backdrop to become the first ever Sgt Slaughter Memorial Cup winner. <strong>65</strong></p><p>

Keiji Sakoda has switched to a Nation of Violence gimmick, rated 64.</p><p>

Petey Williams has debuted without a specific gimmick, rated 71.</p><p>

Shawn Michaels was off his game.</p><p>

Mike Quackenbush, Jimmy Yang and Keiji Sakoda have all improved in technical skills.</p><p>

Roderick Strong has improved in rumble skills.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Cade Thesz v Rob Van Dam</strong></p><p>

A grudge match between former mentor and student. Both men have cost the other the chance of winning the National Championship in recent weeks and things have been intense between the two. Going into the match, many expected Van Dam to get the better of his former pupil so many were surprised when this didn't happen and it was Cade Thesz who walked out with the biggest win of his career. Despite some great action, the match disappointed some who expected a lot better. Thesz's win arrived in 17:48 by pinfall with a quick cradle. <strong>65</strong></p><p>

Cade Thesz is improving in flying skills.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>GRAPPLER'S LEAGUE PREMIER DIVISION</strong></p><p><strong>

AJ Styles (4-1-1) v Chris Jericho (7-0-0)</strong></p><p>

These men have wrestled some classics in the past. While this match was very good, it didn't reach those standards.</p><p>

Action was fast and back and forth as many expected. Both men were close to victory and with the twenty minutes time limit fast approaching, it was AJ Styles who had the upper hand and most likely to win. He had Jericho primed and ready and was setting up for the Styles Clash when the bell rang. Styles looked confused and Jericho relieved. The time limit expired and the match ended in a draw. <strong>84 – match of the night</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>PSW NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP</strong></p><p><strong>

Chris Hero (champion) v John Cena</strong></p><p>

Hero has been an unlikely champion. He won the title by cashing in Feast or Fired but then won a rematch against Chris Jericho and survived Ultimate Jeopardy. However on both occasions he was the beneficiary of outside help that had nothing to do with him. There were no such occurrences this time and he looked up against it through most of the match.</p><p>

Cena was on top. Hero did get a couple of near falls but never seriously threatened to put Cena away. Cena made the most of this and claimed his first title in PSW in 25:05 by pinfall with a Spin-out powerbomb. John Cena wins the PSW National Championship title. <strong>80</strong></p><p>

Chris Hero's win streak ends at five.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Show rating: B 79</strong></p><p>

PSW has increased in popularity in eleven regions.</p><p>

Attendance: 17,950 (sell out, second highest in PSW history)</p><p>

Buy rate: 0.07 (new PSW record)</p><p>

Profit: $284,070</p><p>

Cade Thesz, Kevin Steen, Matt Sydal and Jose Maximo returned clean drugs tests.</p><p> </p><p>

WRITER'S NOTES</p><p>

I was a little disappointed from the show. I had expected better from Styles v Jericho and Hero v Cena and the Sgt Slaughter Memorial Cup also scored lower than I thought it would.</p><p> </p><p>

Apologies for not posting last Thursday. I fell ill on Boxing Day and I was that bad after work on Thursday I was in bed by 19:15. Tonight is the first night I've been online since.

F'n love me some Petey Williams. And love beating these losers.

Hope you're feeling better, buddy. Shame that you were sick during most of the holidays.

I'm sure it was 'cause of crackerjack's delayed predictions (that scoundrel!) and Kijar's smug, punchable, lucky face (what a creep!) and nothing to do with me being your favorite predictor, right? :D

Anyway, onto the show... wow. HBK and Sting? Orton on the rise and Cena on top? Things just got a whole lot more interesting as we enter PSW's 10th year.

No need to send my pick via PM, not afraid to tell Kijar which team is gonna destroy his boys: Chi-Town's Finest!

<strong>PSW WEEKLY</strong></p><p>

Monday, week 4, May 2010</p><p>

Broadcast on America One on Tuesday late evening for the last time.</p><p>

Announcers: Potter & Dusty Rhodes</p><p>

Silver Spurs Arena, Kissimmee, Florida (8,000 capacity)</p><p>

<img alt="images?q=tbn:ANd9GcRPFlNCa1DXECygJfP96UOb0FKc1Ic_iZDQRKy3QtQzALj05O9d" data-src="https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcRPFlNCa1DXECygJfP96UOb0FKc1Ic_iZDQRKy3QtQzALj05O9d" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

The last PSW Weekly on America One doesn't start in the Silver Spurs Arena. It actually starts in Lahaina Civic Center Hall. Footage is shown of Eddie Edwards beat Jay Lethal in the Grappler's League Third Division and Potter says that match was the final match of the season and left a three way tie for second place.</p><p>

We then do go to Silver Spurs Arena where Bret Hart makes his way down to the ring. The Director of Operations climbs in an addresses the situation. He says that Drew McIntyre has won the Third Division. Congratulations Drew, you are promoted and have qualified for the Crowning Glory Series. However Davey Richards, Eddie Edwards and Ricky Steamboat Jr are tied in second place and even a mini league between the three of them ties them at one win each. Bret continues by saying there are three promotion places due to league expansion and three Crowning Glory Series qualifying spots. As Drew has secured one, that leaves two between three wrestlers. So here's what we will do…</p><p>

Bret makes a match for Top of the World… a three way match between Richards, Edwards and Steamboat Jr. Whoever loses the fall misses out and the other two win promotion and qualify for the Crowning Glory Series. <strong>69</strong></p><p>

Bret enjoyed the freedom of going off script and performed well.</p><p> </p><p>

Backstage and Londrick approach the National Tag Team champions To Kijar, With Love. Kendrick tells the champions that those belts used to be theirs. London tells them they want them back. Perkins tells them to come and try. Sydal accepts the challenge for Top of the World. <strong>38</strong></p><p> </p><p>

In a bout that had solid in-ring action but not much in the way of heat, Triple X 2 defeated Havana Pitbulls in 9:39 when Amazing Red defeated Ricky Reyes by pinfall with a Code Red. <strong>58</strong></p><p>

Amazing Red has switched to an Oppressed Minority gimmick, rated 26.</p><p> </p><p>

The champ is seen as John Cena is in the backstage interview area with the belt over his shoulder. He says he is happy with the Top of the World qualifiers. He likes a challenge and the qualifiers mean only the best have a shot at his title at Top of the World. <strong>78</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Chris Jericho comes to the ring. He arrogantly says he can't believe that someone of his standing has to qualify for Top of the World. He will make CM Punk pay for PSW's poor management next week in the Grappler's League Premier Division. <strong>80</strong></p><p> </p><p>
