GRAPPLER’S LEAGUE SECOND DIVISION

Drew McIntyre (1-0-0) v Ricky Steamboat Jr (1-0-0)

Two former Youth champions and stars of the future clash in the opening contest of the night in the Grappler’s League Second Division. It was a solid start to the show and one where both men had a number of near falls though the crowd were not into the match as much as the quality of it perhaps deserved. It was the canny Scot who got the win as McIntyre had his arms raised in 10:13 by pinfall with a G-Spot. 59

PSW YOUTH CHAMPIONSHIP

Iven Michaud (champion) v Joe Hennig

Iven Michaud has been champion for exactly two months, though with competition hot among the youngsters, most championship matches for the Youth Championship are tight affairs. This was also the case here and while Iven Michaud has a big future ahead of him, so does the son of perfection Joe Hennig. The third generation star becomes the fifth wrestler after Cade Thesz, Kevin Steen, Drew McIntyre and Iven Michaud himself to have won the PSW TV Title and Youth Championship when he dethroned the champion in 9:41 by pinfall with a Hennig Plex. Joe Hennig wins the PSW Youth Championship title. 59

Iven Michaud is improving in rumble skills.

Iven Michaud’s win streak ends at 6.

Keiji Sakoda is backstage. He says tonight he is going to be the first in PSW to beat Jimmy Yang and he is taking home the Continental Championship. 57

PSW WOMEN’S CHAMPIONSHIP

Nora Greenwald (champion) v Beth Phoenix

Nora Greenwald has beaten all who have faced her so far in PSW. Tonight she was finally vanquished from her position as champion as Beth Phoenix becomes the second woman to dethrone her, following Melissa doing so previously. Phoenix won the match in 10:41 by pinfall. Beth Phoenix wins the PSW Women's Championship title. 47

Greenwald and Phoenix have great chemistry.

Nora Greenwald’s win streak ends at 12.

”The Outlaw” Cade Thesz (with BG James) v Mike Quackenbush

This was an entertaining match considering it had no build up and essentially was here to fill the card. That is a bit harsh of a comment on the two involved, both have been impressive since returning or arriving in PSW. Thesz in particular has stood out and is showing signs of being a Continental champion sooner rather than later.

Thesz got the better of Quackenbush in 13:39 by submission. 66

Mike Quackenbush is improving in technical skills.

Jimmy Yang speaks from the locker room. He says he is the Continental champion because he is a champion, the champion of champions. He says he is keeping the Continental Championship tonight because “it looks good in my collection of championship belts”. 56

PSW CONTINENTAL TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP

Chicago’s Finest (champions) v Havana Pitbulls

Havana Pitbulls have been hovering around the Continental Tag Team Championship scene for a few months now, having had a couple of shots in the past where they came up just short. Chicago’s Finest have been impressive as champions since winning the titles two months ago at Crowning Glory X.

Tonight the Pitbulls came up just short again in 12:49 when CM Punk defeated Ricky Reyes by submission with an Arm Triangle Choke. Chicago's Finest make defence number 2 of their PSW Continental Tag Team Championship titles. Will Havana Pitbulls ever get their hands on the titles? 62

CM Punk looked good.

Chicago’s Finest have won their last 6 matches.

FEAST OR FIRED

‘The Outlaw’ Amazing Red, ‘The Outlaw’ Christopher Daniels, Kevin Steen, Lance Storm, Matt Sydal, Randy Orton, ‘The Outlaw’ Roderick Strong, Stu Sanders, T. J. Perkins and Windham Rotunda

At ringside: BG James

The annual Feast or Fired match. Joy for three wrestlers as they earn title shots to be cashed in when they please. Agony for one as he gets fired… but whomever gets a briefcase tonight won’t find out their fate until Superstars of Wrestling on Tuesday night.

The first two cases were retrieved quickly, in the first couple of minutes of the match. Windham Rotunda claimed briefcase 4 and shortly afterwards Stu Sanders pulled down briefcase 3. Both men were delighted and headed off backstage as the remaining eight wrestlers fought on.

It took a while for any other case to be fetched down, despite many attempts by all the wrestlers, with all eight of those left getting their hands on a case at one point or another. Just before the quarter hour point in the match. Christopher Daniels got hold of case 2 as fellow Outlaws Amazing Red and Roderick Strong fought of Matt Sydal and T. J. Perkins. For the second consecutive year, Daniels has a Feast or Fired briefcase.

It only took another couple of minutes for the final case to be retrieved. With the two remaining Outlaws again fighting To Kijar, With Love over a briefcase, this time it was somebody else who benefitted. Kevin Steen sneaked by and fetched the final case, number 1 in 16:17, celebrating in the ring as the two teams continued brawling. 64

Kevin Steen is improving in flying and technical skills.

Roderick Strong is improving in rumble skills.

Chris Jericho is in the backstage interview area. He says he is looking forward to fighting Rob Van Dam in a classic… a classic that will see ‘The Greatest Champion’ win again. 84

Chris Jericho has switched to an Egomaniac gimmick, rated 59.

GRAPPLER’S LEAGUE FIRST DIVISION

Chris Hero (1-0-0, TV champion) v John Cena (1-0-0, with Raven)

John Cena has found a new lease of life since finding solace in Raven a few weeks ago. He is darker in character and darker in fashion as he comes to the ring in black demi shorts and black trainers now since following Raven.

It’s bringing results though. He has started winning again and carried this on by defeating Hero in 13:52 by pinfall with a Spin-out powerbomb. Raven is making a difference and maybe Cena has found his salvation. 65

John Cena and Raven have great chemistry.

Chris Hero’s win streak ends at 10.

GRAPPLER’S LEAGUE PREMIER DIVISION

“The Greatest Champion” Chris Jericho (1-0-0) v Rob Van Dam (0-0-1)

A dream match for many and while it wasn’t as good as those wetting themselves had hoped, it still was high in quality and just about edged the main event as the match of the night.

In terms of the result, it was Jericho who just about edged RVD in 18:39 by submission with a Lion Tamer. 82 – match of the night

PSW CONTINENTAL CHAMPIONSHIP

“The Champion of Champions” Jimmy Yang (champion) v Keiji Sakoda

Some great action in the championship main event as Jimmy Yang continued his winning start in PSW. Keiji Sakoda is one tough cookie, and he provided a stern test to the undefeated champion. Yang’s reign continues in 24:29 by pinfall with a Yang Time. Jimmy Yang makes defence number 6 of his PSW Continental Championship title. 81

Keiji Sakoda is improving in technical skills.

No idea where Cracker Jack is but he has had a full week to predict and I haven't heard anything from him.

I do normally post a reminder but Monday when I am normally online I didn't get back until late from a family day trip, had to put my young daughter to bed and then had to do routing for work so never got chance to come on.

MONTHLY STANDINGS

1. Michgcs 51

2. Kijar 48

3. Cracker Jack 42

Well done to Mich. Your prize is to create a new tag team or split up a current one except The Outlaws. The split may not happen straight away depending who you choose.

You can also choose somebody to profile.
