Drew McIntyre (champion) v Nate Nickerson

Arguably the most prestigious championship a young wrestler can win short of winning a company's main title, the PSW Youth Championship has become one which showcases some of the best young talent there is and former champions include Cade Thesz, Kevin Steen and T. J. Perkins.

Drew McIntyre has been an impressive champion, casting aside everyone who has challenged him since winning the title vacated when T. J. Perkins cashed in the championship at Choice of the New Generation back in February. Nate Nickerson proved stiff opposition and the two put on a decent match though the champion prevailed again in 8:34 by pinfall with a Future Shock DDT. Drew McIntyre makes defence number 6 of his PSW Youth Championship title. 56

PSW WOMEN'S CHAMPIONSHIP

Nora Greenwald (champion) v Taylor Matheny

The Women's Championship has been growing steadily in stature while the women's division's profile continues to rise gradually, boosted by signings such as Trenesha Biggers and this year sees the Crowning Glory Women's Series expand to sixteen competitors.

Nora Greenwald has been central to this division from the early days. After a dominant first reign as champion, she regained the title back from Melissa a couple of months ago at Anniversary Show IX. This was one of the more straight forward defences as she retained over Taylor Matheny in 11:40 by pinfall with a Molly Go Round. Nora Greenwald makes defence number 2 of her PSW Women's Championship title. 50

Keiji Sakoda (champion) v Iven Michaud

Iven Michaud is a very promising young wrestler who had a very impressive reign as TV champion. Keiji Sakoda dethroned him two weeks ago and this is their rematch.

Michaud looked good again, causing Sakoda a lot of problems. The tough Japanese star hung in there, fought back and managed to retain in 13:50 by submission. Keiji Sakoda makes defence number 2 of his PSW TV Title. The two clearly respect each other after their two recent matches as despite falling short again, Michaud shook the hand of Sakoda after the match. 64

Jeff Jarrett & Lance Storm v Cade Thesz & Eddie Kingston

Some very interesting dynamics at work here. Jarrett and Lance had a brief run last year before a spectacular and brutal fall out. Now they are back though it's clear in the match they still aren't friends yet they did team well together. The same could not be said about Thesz and Kingston, who didn't team well and their timing was off. This led to a comfortable win for Jarrett and Storm, and one which Cade Thesz was clearly unhappy about when it came in 12:29 when Jeff Jarrett defeated Eddie Kingston by submission with a Figure-Four Leglock. 63

Eiji Ezaki v Randy Orton

Since losing the mask as Hayabusa, Ezaki has enjoyed decent success in PSW winning the Grappler's League two seasons ago and having an all too brief reign as the Continental champion. Orton is also a former Continental champion so this promised to be a close and very good match.

It actually disappointed a little. The action was very good, but the interest from the crowd wasn't there and that dragged it down a little. Also, Orton a little surprisingly had the majority of the match, which he closed out in 13:39 by pinfall with an O-Zone. 60

Randy Orton has won his last five matches.

John Cena is backstage, holding the PSW Continental Championship belt. Cena says he is not underestimating or overlooking Jimmy Yang. Cena continues by saying he takes every match and opponent seriously and will remain champion when the night is over. 82

Two teams who have been very impressive since forming in PSW. The unbeaten champions (though they did lose to Chris Jericho in a handicap match) faced the number two ranked team with only one blemish to their PSW name in what on paper looks a tremendous contest.

However, much like Ezaki versus Orton before it, this disappointed a little as the champions were too much for their challengers and made a comfortable defence in 13:40 when T.J. Perkins defeated Ricky Reyes by submission. To Kijar, With Love make defence number 5 of their PSW Continental Tag Team Championship titles. 60

Undoubtedly the match of the First Round will see one of the strong favourites exit at the first hurdle. Based on recent form, Londrick were favourites to advance as Chicago's Finest have been in a slump in both singles and tag team action.

The match was very good as the action went back and forth and both teams scored numerous near falls. This had the fans on their feet for some of the later stages of the match and Chicago's Finest arrested their slide with a fine victory in 16:57 when Colt Cabana defeated Paul London by pinfall with a Colt 45 and the crowd applauded both teams' efforts. 80 – match of the night

Arguably the match of the Crowning Glory First Round pits Chris Jericho, self proclaimed greatest in the world against the dangerous Christopher Daniels who has the other members of Triple X lurking around.

It was another match high in quality and it went on for a long time without the fans losing any interest. Sure enough, Triple X made their presence felt as when Christopher Daniels was down and out, James Mitchell distracted referee Joe Hempel for long enough to allow Roderick Strong to attack Chris Jericho from behind. Despite this, Jericho was still able to get the better of Daniels and qualify for the Quarter Finals in 27:19 by submission with a Lion Tamer. 80 – match of the night

John Cena (champion) v Jimmy Yang

A fairly new champion versus a man who is current or recent holder of numerous championships in various companies.

The main event turned out to be a huge disappointment. Although the two have great chemistry, the match suffered with a lack of selling and psychology which caused it to drag in the middle.

In terms of the action it's, Yang shocked Cena when he kicked out of a Sit Out Power Bomb, which led to Cena also questioning the cadence of the count from experienced PSW referee Wes Adams. This delay allowed Yang to get his breath back and mount some offence which eventually led to him taking the title in 28:22 by pinfall with a Michinoku Driver II. Jimmy Yang wins the PSW Continental Championship title. 60

Jimmy Yang has won his first seven matches in PSW.

John Cena's winning streak ends at seven.

The main event bombing came as a complete surprise and made me regret not going with Jericho v Daniels as main event which I had toyed with but felt both Cena and Yang were good enough to be better as main event with it being for the title.

I couldn't find Katie Melua performing this song in a suitably sized arena on Youtube so had to make do with a live performance at Ledreborg Castle Festival with a ruddy big orchestra.
