<p><strong><span style="font-size:18px;">Version 5.0</span></strong></p><p> </p><p>

Having just realised how different my data is to the one I've released, I feel like it's about time I released <strong>Territory Daze: Version 5.0</strong>. As always, I'd first like to thank everyone who has downloaded Territory Daze thus far. I was happy when we hit 100 people; I was thrilled when we hit 500 people; I was ecstatic when we hit 1,000 people; but, I was absolutely amazed when we surpassed 1,500 downloads. To know you guys are out there playing it (and hopefully enjoying it) makes all the hard work well worth it. Anyway, here are the changes that you'll find in the new update, not including some of the more minor changes (I'll leave them for you to find) and more than anything, I hope you enjoy:</p><p> </p><p>

</p><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><strong>NWA Titles Tweak</strong></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"> - As shipshirt pointed out, there were a bunch of regional National Wrestling Alliance titles set as "Alliance titles" in the game, meaning they were defended around the world when they shouldn't be. My reasoning at the time was that a few of them were defended in one region, but that region encompassed more than one promotion. As this isn't translatable in the game, it's much better to have them defended in one promotion, rather than have them as an "Alliance title" for all the reasons outlined above.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

</div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><strong>Worker Tweaks</strong></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"> - As always, there are a few tweaks in a myriad of workers, including but not limited to: Bruno Sammartino's "Fog of War" level in "Entertainment", his "Resilience" and his "Psychology" have all been increased slightly, a retirement age has been added to the Fabulous Moolah to ensure her longevity in real life is reflected in the modification, and Roddy Piper's personality has been reexamined. </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

</div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><strong>Locations</strong></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"> - Using the new "Set To Open" and "Set To Close" features in TEW2016, I've added a whole load of "Locations" to the modification, hitting </div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><strong>805</strong></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"> from what was previously </div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><strong>305</strong></div><div style="margin-left:25px;">. I think it authenticates the game world, and ensures that it never becomes stale as locations are coming and going on a regular basis.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

</div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><strong>TV Rating Unit</strong></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"> - On the advice of alvarasus and Stennick, I've dropped the "TV Rating Unit" down from the default 750,000 to 190,000, as they claim it better reflects the time period.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

</div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><strong>Fixed Errors</strong></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"> - There weren't a whole lot of errors thankfully, but I've fixed the ones that I could find, including Kyoko Okada not having a picture assigned to her contract.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

</div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><strong>Added Workers</strong></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"> - I believe the previous version had </div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><strong>1,244</strong></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"> workers but Version 5.0 has </div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><strong>1,279</strong></div><div style="margin-left:25px;">, and although that isn't a huge increase, I think you'll all be happy with the names I've included. It includes </div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><em>every single</em></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"> worker (apart from Marshall Fields) who members of the Grey Dog Software forum have supplied me with over the last couple of months, including: Whitey Caldwell, Tim Brooks, Al Zinck, Johnny Wayne Fields, Ricky Fields, Shane Fields, Jackie Welch, Jack Tunney and Gerry Morrow. So without further ado:</div><p></p><p> </p><p>

Mexico and England are arguably my favourite part of the modification as unlike a lot of other modifications out there which don't really have the attention to detail in countries outside of America, I put in just as much effort in every area. Plus, Mexico and England were brimming with talent in the 70s so it would have been very unfair of me not to do so. </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="Lukkearthur" data-cite="Lukkearthur" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="42829" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>Is this getting anymore updates?</div></blockquote><p> Not yet. I'm working diligently on Shifting Sands (2006) and as far as I'm aware, most people are happy with the modification because I haven't been given any advice or wish-lists. Of course, there are things I want to do myself but unless I complete Shifting Sands with plenty of time, I probably wouldn't expect an update for Territory Daze until maybe the next instalment of Total Extreme Wrestling.</p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="bizzo2k" data-cite="bizzo2k" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="42829" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>Did the 2013 one have a skin with that or am I having a false memory?</div></blockquote><p> A false memory, I'm afraid. I've always thought about doing an old school skin to accommodate the modification but never got 'round to it. It's most certainly a possibility however as there isn't very much to do in any future update so most of my time may very well be put into a matching skin.</p>

Just posting to add words of praise for Territory Daze, my favourite mod of all time. Everyone should play this mod, and eventually come to worship Bobby Shane as your martyred God, the Jesus of wrestling, who died for your sins.

(Word to the wise: it doesn't hurt to import the workers from Alvasaurus' 1980 mod, deleting the duplicates, going through with a fine-toothed comb, so you can play through to the next 30 years. Mammoth doesn't like adding future yet-to-debut workers in his mods for some reason, but that's okay, that's just his style. You have to compensate for that. This is like jazz. We're improvising, with what we have. Mammoth has given us the fake book, and we're blowing on the tenor saxophone, or the alto, or whatever, just be-bopping and scatting, or whatever you will.)

This is the best mod ever played, the best mod ever made by man or woman. If you play this mod, you will learn at least one thing about wrestling, the thing you ostensibly like, and you can't put a price on that.

When I think about Bobby Shane drowning in the Tampa Bay, his body paralyzed by the plane crash, I think of Christ's agony on the cross. And Jerry Lawler becoming a huge super star despite having basically two moves, that's like the Christian church becoming the predominant world religion despite the fact that it's based around some random carpenter guy who died around the age of 30.

Play Territory Daze, become a nihilist. Get pissed off that JWA reaches Cult level within a year and ties up anyone who's worth a damn with ridiculous exclusive contracts.

I've made an overlong appreciation post because I've been drinking. I don't care. Territory Daze is the best mod ever made. You think you don't like it because you're a dogshit stupid millennial and have no reverence for the past. Play it. Learn the history. Revere it. Respect it. Begin to think of Rita Cortez as your girlfriend. Territory Daze. Territory Daze.

It's certainly something that I will look into for it's release for TEW20 however as I'm actually really looking forward to coming back to Territory Daze, taking a break from Shifting Sands and putting something out that will hopefully blow people away again. And as always, I'm open for suggestions if there is anyone (past, present or future) that people would like to see added to the modification.</p>

Just so everyone is aware, Territory Daze will be updated for TEW2020. As I've taken a break from Shifting Sands, I've actually began putting some time and effort into the modification and most notably, I've been reworking the picture folder. There is so much I want to do with this modification as I no longer feel it's as polished as Shifting Sands but whether it'll be done for the very first update of TEW2020 remains to be seen as just updating the picture pack is a long and laborious task and then there's all the necessary updates transferring from TEW16 to TEW2020 requires. But yeah, I just wanted to inform everyone that it'll definitely happen so for all those who still love and play the modification, you'll be able to play it for years to come. Oh, and the future workers are going to see a large increase if everything goes well as workers are made in very much the same way as Shifting Sands so importing them <em>should</em> be a breeze. <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

<p>For the TEW 2020 version, would this be helpful for Montreal? <a href="https://www.wrestlingdata.com/index.php?befehl=ligen&kategorie=8&liga=304&infos=1&jahr1=1969&monat1=1&jahr2=1970&monat2=12&sort=1" rel="external nofollow">https://www.wrestlingdata.com/index.php?befehl=ligen&kategorie=8&liga=304&infos=1&jahr1=1969&monat1=1&jahr2=1970&monat2=12&sort=1</a></p><p> </p><p>

The Johnny Rougeau/Bob Langevin IWA ran a ton of shows in 1969, and while they cut back in 1970, they were still active for a few more years. How can you not love a promotion that used Abdullah every week?</p>

For the TEW 2020 version, would this be helpful for Montreal? https://www.wrestlingdata.com/index.php?befehl=ligen&kategorie=8&liga=304&infos=1&jahr1=1969&monat1=1&jahr2=1970&monat2=12&sort=1

The Johnny Rougeau/Bob Langevin IWA ran a ton of shows in 1969, and while they cut back in 1970, they were still active for a few more years. How can you not love a promotion that used Abdullah every week?

I'm not really looking to add any other promotions (apart from maybe a few "Yet to Debut") but I'll look into it more closely when I'm finished with what I'm doing now. Thanks.

Hey, thanks a lot for the tip, but I couldn't find a list of duplicated workers anywhere, so I tried to do my own and I will post it here, so people can look at it and do it easier, I know there's probably some wrestlers (maybe a ton) that I didn't find a duplicate, but if someone wants to add it to the list, please reply this post.

The names below are the files that I deleted (the name in between parentheses are the records that I left in the game), here we go:

You are a great human being. I'm just starting the same process and will add anyone you haven't found yet.

Good job, guys. I hope this won't be necessary in the future but for those who can't cope without a long list of "Yet to Debut" workers, it's a great tool.

I believe in angels

Of course you do; there's one right here.

I'm struggling to find the 1980 mod by Alvasaurus, can anyone share a link, or shove me in the right direction? Would be much appreciated

EDIT -- Seems I had the name spelled wrong in the first place (alvarasus) and it's the 1980 Big Bang mod most places have listed as Genadi. Thanks for the tip!
