I keep thinking it was Superbrawl but I can't remember for sure) it was actually a very cool piece with the inductees all present at ringside; they were treated as legends watching those that came after them carry the torch and the show wasn't about them but they were still being honored. Really classy.</p>

I happened to rent that show on VHS years and years ago, which is probably why I chose to bring the HOF back with Slamboree as opposed to imitating what WWE does now and moving it to Starrcade.</p>

So a big thank you to TFC for giving me the opportunity to book WrestleMania XIX, I had a blast. So without further ado I present to you WrestleMania!

WWE’s nineteenth edition of WrestleMania emanated out of the Memphis Liberty Bowl in front of a sold out crowd of 50,000 people. There was a lot of talk at just how WWE’s first WrestleMania following Stone Cold Steve Austin’s departure (and subsequent arrival in WCW) would go but it’s safe to say that the show lived up to WrestleMania’s past.

The opening contest saw X-Pac attempt to topple the Big Red Machine Kane. Kane has tormented X-Pac for weeks after X-Pac challenged him to try and prove that he can go with anyone in the WWE but the underdog bit off more than he could chew. Despite a valiant effort by the Degenerate Kane planted him to the mat with a Chokeslam to pick up the victory in the opener. Following that Brock Lesnar finally lived up to the potential many see in him as he answered William Regal’s open challenge for the WWE Intercontinental Championship. Lesnar, accompanied surprisingly by Paul Heyman, beat the champion with a thunderous F-5 to win his first title in the WWE.

Last year Big Show stunned everyone when he ended The Undertaker’s streak in a triple threat match. However in that match he pinned Triple H, not The Undertaker, and this years showcase was his chance to set that right. The battle of the big men however saw The Undertaker come out on top with a ferocious display of strength as he hauled Big Show up and connected with the Tombstone to get a semblance of revenge. Following that Test & Albert won their second WWE World Tag Team Championships in a triple threat match beating both The Dudley Boyz and Edge & Christian however it was what went down after the match that stunned fans as Christian turned on his longtime partner, viciously attacking Edge and leaving him bloodied in the ring.

Ever since losing the ECW World Heavyweight Championship Kurt Angle has been tireless in his efforts to take it back from Chris Benoit. The two met in a blockbuster two-out-of-three falls match that absolutely tore the house down. Chris Benoit stole the first fall when he countered the Ankle Lock into a small package for the three but Angle fought back, hitting the Angle Slam to even the match one fall a piece. The two men battled for a further ten minutes, both pulling out all the stops, but in the end it was Kurt Angle who sensationally made Benoit tap out to the Ankle Lock to finally regain the ECW World Heavyweight Championship. After that match it was a showcase of legends as Hollywood Hulk Hogan battled Triple H, a clash of superiority between the past and the present. Hogan’s attitude may have changed in his latest WWE run but his success hasn’t as he has run roughshod over the roster alongside Scott Hall. Tonight however was not to be Hogan’s night as Triple H, fighting for the WWE, hit not one but two big Pedigree’s to pick up a huge win on the grandest stage of them all.

In women’s action Lita was forced to defend the WWE Women’s Championship against two opponents as she faced off with Trish Stratus and Chyna. Lita and Stratus were forced to work together to try and topple Chyna but soon came to blows as the match became highly competitive. Chyna seemed to have the match won when she gorilla press slammed Lita only for Trish to come from behind and deliver Stratusfaction to win her first Women’s Championship. After that Mr. WrestleMania himself Shawn Michaels stepped up to face Mr. Hollywood, The Rock. A dream match in anyones books The Rock and Michaels took each other to the absolute limits as they tried to prove that they were the biggest star in the WWE today. Michaels looked to have the match won when he connected with Sweet Chin Music only for Rocky to shockingly kick out. Michaels tuned up the band a second time but The Rock countered with the Rock Bottom. To make sure the match was won The Rock hit a second Rock Bottom and then followed it up with the People’s Elbow to get the three count, finally answering the question of just who is better between the Showstopper and the People’s Champion.

WrestleMania XIX’s main event saw WWE World Heavyweight Champion Scott Hall defending not only against the winner of the 2003 Royal Rumble match Chris Jericho but also the man he stole the title from just a few weeks ago, Eddie Guerrero. While many people would never have expected this would headline the biggest show of the wrestling calendar just a year ago all three men went in with the aim of proving they belonged here and they did it in style. All three men brought their own distinct styles, Scott Hall bending the rules and hitting hard as he had to find some way to counter the speed and technical abilities of Jericho and Eddie. Unfortunately for Hall Eddie Guerrero is more than adept at bending the rules and he did just that, first clocking Hall in the head with the WWE World Heavyweight Championship on the outside before laying him across the announce table and putting him through it with a Frog Splash! Hall was out of the match from there and Jericho and Eddie went at it in the ring. Eddie however was hurting from putting Hall through the announce table and when Jericho managed to avoid a Frog Splash and lock in the Walls of Jericho Guerrero, despite a valiant effort, was forced to tap out! Chris Jericho had finally, in the main event of WrestleManian no-less, won the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, ending the biggest show of the year with the beginning of the age of Y2J.

When asked to explain her actions, Devil said that she attacked Meiko for no other reason than that she could, and she felt like it. Satomura subsequently stood up for herself, refusing to be bullied, and also acted to try and stop her from attacking anyone else. The slow build led up to this being set up for the PPV.</em></p><p><em> </em></p><p><em> As noted earlier, Satomura was on the winning side of a tag match with Manami Toyota against Devil and Aja Kong, only for Devil to put her to sleep after the match. </em></p><p> </p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="43035" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">No Beauty in Playing Second Fiddle</span></strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p> <em>-After Toshiyo Yamada won a singles match on the March 22nd Renaissance, Takako Inoue came into the aisle and taunted her, saying it was odd to see her actually standing on her own since all she's basically Manami Toyota's glorified sidekick. They've been at each others' throats for months now, along with their respective partners LuFisto and Nattie Neidhart. That portion of the feud ended when Our Generation beat Daffney and LuFisto on the March 22nd Renaissance, but the following week Daffney confronted Melissa backstage and told her she would have the last laugh by beating her and helping her team win the UFS (and naturally, she punctuated this with a laugh that resembled one of her high-pitched screams.)</em></p><p><em> </em></p><p><em> The finals began on the March 24th Nitro, where Alexander beat Finlay to draw first blood for the Hopeful Few. CM Punk responded the following week with a win over Mortis, so the series is tied at one win apiece heading into this match. Whoever wins will put their team just one win away from ultimate victory, so I'm sure both team managers will be watching this one closely.</em></p><p> </p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="43035" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Rounding Out the Card</span></strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p> <em>-There are two more matches on the show that didn't receive any noticeable build, though we did have some interaction between the women in question on the go-home Renaissance. General diary comments/questions/critiques: Manami probably could have a MOTY candidate with the 12 year old in the third row so it will be no shocker that she carries a slightly in time decline Aja to a fantastic match.</p><p> </p><p>

X-Pac would have been my second guess on bumbling that show. Thank goodness it was the opener and not the main.</p>
