Though I'd love to know how he's grown the golden 4 (Bryan, Punk, AJ, and Corino) pop so dang quick. I'm lucky to gain 4 per month, and that's with 2 shows now and hiring more popular unemployed wrestlers to job out.

I though about that and changed to Pop>performance and im starting to notice a difference but not as big. Im with WCW too and the roster differences are huge. It will be the Mod as well though as im still using a lot of the older wrestlers as Main Eventers

After several days of reading through this diary (instead of working) I have finally caught up and I loved every second of this. The format (especially the new one) feels like it flows nicely and it gives all the key points to the matches coming up at the ppv and doesn't feel like an overwhelming amount of info to take in

The main thing I love is that the company still feels like WCW with your use of WCW talent that you started with while taking your time and building new stars. Dustin Rhodes/The Unnatural winning the world title was definitely the highlight of the diary for me. It has inspired me to attempt my own try at the WCW lives mod.

Anyways I am going to take a shot at predidicting here

Fan Scorecard:

World Heavyweight Championship: Sean O'Haire vs. The Unnatural {©}

Sean O'Haire is a solid challenger here for The Unnatural but the champion is going to retain here

"The Hellraiser" Steve Austin vs. Jamie Knoble

As much as I like Knoble he just isn't on the level of Austin and it is clear you are heading towards Austin vs Goldberg at starrcade...

"Big Poppa Pump" Scott Steiner vs. Goldberg

Again I love Steiner and would love to see him get the chance to be the top guy again but Goldberg is on the road to the Austin showdown at starrcade so he cant really lose here...

World Tag Team Championship: True Heroes vs. The Unbound vs. Christopher Daniels and Brian Adams {©}

This for me is the hardest match to call but you have booked Daniels and Adams well and I see them sneaking away with the belts...

Eddie Guerrero and Rey Mysterio Jr. vs. The Jung Dragons

This is a no brainer as Eddie and Rey are by far more over

United States Heavyweight Championship: TAKA vs. "The Phenomenal" AJ Styles {©}

I have the feeling that TAKA will capture the title gaining his win back after losing the Cruiserweight title to AJ before. hopefully that will also see AJ moving towards the world title scene.

World Television Championship: Chavo Guerrero Jr. vs. Jeff Hardy vs. Matt Hardy vs. "Sugar" Shane Helms

I get the feeling the TV title will be used to launch one of the hardys up the card, I am thinking Jeff as it has been stated before that he has great star quality but could easily be either of them

Cruiserweight Championship: KENTA vs. "American Dragon" Bryan Danielson {©}

With KENTA been the outside guy in the match I dont see the belt changing hands here... Unless kenta is staying for a while

Hayabusa vs. Brian Kendrick

London will cause some kind of distraction here and use it to lure Kendrick into another match

What will be match of the night? This is hard to call, but I am going to trust in the Unnatural to continue his great main event streak...

http://www.hoffco-inc.com/wwe/ppv/ppv/img/logo-sum02-04.jpg
WWE Summerslam Report

The 2003 Summerslam aired live from Chase Field in Phoenix, Arizona and there was a lot riding on this pay-per-view. The first of the big four pay-per-view’s since the brand split began this would be the benchmark for future shows. Based on this show then the brand split experiment might very well be a big success for the WWE, but with the constant quality that the competition is putting out they might very well need to build up the guys they’ve got sooner rather than later.

The show kicked off with Chris Benoit facing off with Booker T, a bout between two of ECW’s top stars, both of whom have been trying to put themselves firmly in title contention over the past few weeks at the expense of each other. Despite Booker’s best efforts it was the former ECW World Heavyweight Champion who came out on top, making Booker tap out to the crossface. While ECW kicked off the night it was interbrand action that would follow it up with the WWE’s Christian, Brock Lesnar & X-Pac battling ECW’s Tommy Dreamer, Leviathan & Rhyno. A wild six-man tag match that saw a long-awaited collision between Lesnar and Leviathan saw the Intercontinental Champion pull out the win for the WWE as he countered Rhyno’s gore straight into a monstrous belly-to-belly suplex.

The draft may have seen Raven bring the WWE European Championship to the land of extreme, but that wasn’t a belt the ECW faithful were too keen on seeing defended on home turf. They didn’t have to wait long however as Paul Heyman announced that the European Championship didn’t belong and threw it aside, reintroducing the ECW World Television Championship in it’s place. The inaugural champion was crowned at Summerslam and it was the surprising King of the Ring winner Al Snow who became the first Television champion of the new era, winning a six pack challenge and pinning Perry Saturn to take the gold home with him. Snow wasn’t the only new champion crowned tonight as The A.P.A. became the new WWE World Tag Team Champions, beating former champions Test & Albert and one of the biggest tag teams in wrestling today, The Dudley Boyz, to walk away with titles they haven’t held in three years.

Big Show and Hollywood Hogan have clashed everywhere they’ve ever stepped foot in and tonight a feud that began in WCW erupted as part of ECW’s contribution to Summerslam. The two have been feuding ever since Hogan attacked Show, whipping him with his belt and declaring ECW ‘Hogan territory’. Well at Summerslam Hogan may have learnt that he’ll have a harder time controlling ECW than he did WWE or WCW, as the Big Show planted him to the mat with a Choke Slam for a huge victory. ECW closed out their end of Summerslam with a blockbuster ECW World Heavyweight Championship match. Since winning the title at WrestleMania two-time ECW Champion Kurt Angle has battled all-comers, but there may have been no tougher challenge than the one he faced tonight, defending the title against both The Undertaker and Kane in a triple threat match. The Brothers of Destruction worked together to try and topple the champion but problems quickly erupted when it became clear both men wanted to walk out with the gold and the two legendary brothers came to blows. After Kane shockingly chokeslammed The Undertaker off of the apron through two tables at ringside Angle capitalised on the chaos of the moment, Angle Slamming Kane in the ring and then locking in the Ankle Lock, snapping Kane’s ankle before the Big Red Machine tapped out to give the Olympic Gold Medalist another successful title defence.

Believe it or not but Molly Holly has never been the WWE Women’s Champion, and that is something that she admitted had been eating away at her ever since WrestleMania. At Summerslam Molly finally had the chance to do something she’d never done - beaten Trish Stratus for the title. Only it wouldn’t be that easy, as ECW’s Chyna was also involved in the match. An intense match as all three women tried to prove that the WWE’s women’s wrestling product was just as good at the competition saw Molly Holly finally win the big one as she pinned Trish to win her first Women’s Championship. The semi-main event was a blockbuster tag team match as D-Generation X reunited, Triple H and Shawn Michaels having to put all their past issues aside to face off with two men who had targeted both of them, Scott Hall and Mr. Perfect, The Perfect Combination. Hall had made it clear that he felt abandoned by his former Kliq running buddies and alongside Perfect intended to make an example out of them. D-X aren’t the same men they used to be, but they were definitely up for some of their usual antics as they and The Perfect Combination proved that they can still put on a top-class contest. Scott Hall was absolutely obsessed with hurting his former friends and his desperation made him that much more dangerous but in the end it was a Sweet Chin Music from Shawn Michaels that finally put Scott Hall away, leaving Triple H and Shawn Michaels to stand tall.

Summerslam’s main event saw Chris Jericho’s WWE career come full circle. When he first debuted Jericho interrupted The Rock, immediately cementing himself as a star in World Wrestling Entertainment. In the main event Jericho faced off with Rocky one more time with the WWE World Heavyweight Championship on the line. Since WrestleMania Jericho has proven himself as a worthy champion but there’s an old saying in this game. To be the man you have to beat the man and The Rock is most definitely the man no matter what anybody says. As such this was Jericho’s chance to prove that he is truly the top dog in sports entertainment and he left everything in the ring to try and do just that. The Rock however has been here before and he knew exactly what it was going to take to walk out with his seventh world title. In the end however what it took was a sly low blow, delivered moments after Rock managed to reach the ropes while trapped in the Walls of Jericho. The disgusting tactic by The Rock quickly led into the Rock Bottom and the People’s Elbow as The Rock stole not only the match but the WWE World Heavyweight Championship as well. Once touted as the People’s Champion The Rock has become one of the most hated men in the WWE, more interested in his own fame and ego that the millions (and millions) that once supported him. But say what you want at Summerslam, on a night that definitely delivered, The Rock walked away once again as the WWE World Heavyweight Champion.

Quick Results

1. Chris Benoit defeated Booker T via submission with the Crossface. (B+ / 86)

2. Christian, Brock Lesnar and X-Pac defeated Tommy Dreamer, Leviathan and Rhyno in 8:52 when Brock Lesnar pinned Rhyno after an Overhead Belly To Belly. (B- / 71)

3. Al Snow defeated Edge, Raven, Perry Saturn, Steven Richards and William Regal Al Snow pinned Perry Saturn after a Snow Plow to become the new ECW World Television Champion. (B / 81)

4. The A.P.A. defeated T&A and Dudley Boyz when Bradshaw pinned Albert after a Clothesline from Hell to become the new WWE World Tag Team Champions. (B+ / 84)

5. Big Show defeated Hollywood Hogan with a Choke Slam. (B / 80)

6. Kurt Angle defeated The Undertaker and Kane when Kurt Angle defeated Kane by submission with an Ankle Lock to retain the ECW World Heavyweight title. (A / 92)

7. Molly Holly defeated Trish Stratus and Chyna when Molly Holly pinned Trish Stratus after a Molly Go Round to win the WWE Women’s Championship. (B+ / 83)

8. D-Generation X defeated The Perfect Combination when Shawn Michaels pinned Scott Hall by pinfall after Sweet Chin Music. (A / 89)

9. The Rock defeated Chris Jericho with the People’s Elbow to win the WWE World Heavyweight title. (A / 94)

Show Grade: 91

Big shout out to TFC for the opportunity to book Summerslam, had a blast and hope the results live up to the high expectations WCW set in this reality.

Interesting Summerslam. And I'm a little confused on how NJPW is pretty much bankrupt in your game while not touring. Did they just get locked at Cult too long? Also, just a fair warning for anyone else thinking of picking up those mods, they pre-set the contract lengths. So, stealing people, well capable people "stares at Kronik", early on isn't going to happen. No wonder TFC was happy to stay at Cult for so long. 2 years is a very, very long time.

August 2003: Pre-Supershow News and Notes

August 24, 2003

Tokyo, Japan--Hours before belltime

I watched on from afar as DDP tried to explain some of the finer points of psychology to David Flair. It was nice of Page to try, but I'm just not sure David has it. Still, I need to at least keep the kid around until his contract is up, unless I want to really make Ric mad. It's not like David's breaking the bank with his contract, so I can keep putting him on the pre-shows, maybe find an angle for him here or--

The sounds of shouting and cursing from further down interrupted my train of thought. I could tell some kind of argument had been going on for awhile, but I tended not to get involved in those things unless they escalated. By the sound of it, this one had just escalated. Time to be the boss.

I rounded the corner in time to see Arn Anderson, Fit Finlay and Dustin Rhodes pulling Hugh Morrus back, while Ric Flair crouched down on the floor next to Roddy Piper. As I got closer, it was easy to see that Roddy was holding his jaw. Probably a punch to the face.

"Somebody tell me what happened," I said. Hugh opened his mouth to respond, but I shook my head. "Not you. Somebody else."

"Hugh's been bothering Roddy all day," said Dustin, assuming the role of leadership. "Then he attacked him."

"So Roddy kept his cool?" I said, wanting to be sure I had the story straight. "Hugh was the one who created the problem, and the one who threw the first punch?"

"Yep," Dustin answered. I saw the rest of the boys gathered nearby nodding in agreement, so clearly this really was the way it happened.

"Grab your gear and get out," I said, pointing at Hugh. "Find your own flight back."

"You can't suspend me," he pointed out. "I'm not even under written contract anymore." Maybe that's what this was all about? I didn't know, and I found I didn't care either.

"You're right. I can't. What I can do is not book you anymore, so that's what I'm going to do."

"You're FIRING me?!" Hugh shouted. "Over beating up some old man?"

"I'm not firing you. Like you said, you're not under contract. I'm just not going to book you any more. Good luck on the indies."

I ignored Hugh's angry shouts and looked down at Roddy, who was still holding his jaw. He gave me a grateful nod, obviously appreciating the way I'd handled it. I nodded back.

"Go and get checked out by the doctor," I said to him. "If you want to go straight home after that, you can take the company plane back."

Our locker room is pretty harmonious overall, but for some reason stuff like this seems to keep happening the day of our PPV shows. Hopefully it stops. Maybe getting rid of Hugh will make people think twice about picking fights backstage, and against a retired guy like Roddy no less.

http://i.imgur.com/HLY8nvy.jpg

Our friends in NOAH held their 'Vengeance of Pride' PPV on August 22nd. It was a fairly standard show overall; about what they've been doing recently. The big headline was Kenta Kobashi winning the GHC Heavyweight title from Akira Taue in a really good main event. Taue had quite a few great matches during his time as champion, but no one would consider him the best worker in the company, plus he's getting up there in years. Moving the title to Kobashi was a good idea, and I'm sure they were optimistic that he would lead the way back to the excellent show quality that used to be the norm for them.

Unfortunately, disaster struck the very next night. While working a TV match against his namesake KENTA, Kobashi landed awkwardly on a simple suplex and shattered his elbow. He'll probably be out for a year or more. That's a huge blow for NOAH, and they'll have to scramble to change all their plans and crown a new champion.

http://i.imgur.com/7AiYO6E.jpg

There have been many more additions to support their brand split.

They started the game at national, fell to Cult in February '02, rose back to national in August, then fell back down again in May of this year. I think the pressure from Bret's WCW has gotten a hold of the old man's mind. Where is Pat Patterson and Gerald Brisco when Vince needs them?

WWE signed Cannonball Grizzly? Isn't that the former PN News and in my home area he was aka Avalanche?
