Bret Hart - Because leave it to Bret to pick up a win over the champ in a non-title match, just so he can talk about being screwed more.

The Norsemen

Jeff Jarrett - Like you said, Jeff has quietly gotten himself into a main eventer role. May as well give him a little bit of a line to see if he improves upon that station.

The Rock - Cheap win is cheap.

Billy Gunn

Sid

Hollywood Hogan - Normally you don't go against the question marks, but this is probably gonna be Renegade or someone of that ilk.

JPL and Buff - Jeanny needs to get his win back like this was 2003 up in here.

Cawesome

Goldberg

Scott Norton - My boy is gonna wreck Renegade.

Rick Martel

Jeff Hardy

We are just 13 days away from the hottest night of the summer......we are just 13 days away from Summerslam 1997.....although you could be forgiven for thinking it was Summerslam 1967 that was right around the corner, because Dude Love makes his way out from the back to open the show, in all his tie-dye splendour.....he struts his way down the aisle before rolling into the ring to give the crowd a taste of his, let's say, unique dancing moves (Mrs Foley raised a lot of things, but a natural dancer was not one of them).......once the music has died down, the Dude takes a microphone and addresses the gentleman who has been attacking him, both physically and verbally for the last few weeks, The Corporate Cannon Brian Pillman......

......he says that the Dude is usually a pretty laid back kinda guy, but just recently, Brain Pillman has been really killing The Coolest Cat in the WWF's buzz......he's been coming out here and jumping the Dude from behind.....whatever happened to give peace a chance?......

".......but I tell you what daddy-o......if getting down and dirty with the Dude is your bag man, then why don't we do it right here, right now......tonight....."

......the crowd pops for that, and why wouldn't they......but the Dude isn't done......he says that while he's never been accused of being the sharpest knife in the drawer, he's far from a stupid man......and he knows that recently, where the Corporate Cannon goes, the Corporate tools follow......

".......and there's no bigger tool in the WWF than Shawn Michaels.....and it's safe to say that Ric Flair and Arn Anderson won't be far behind........and while the Dude might be one Cool Cat, he knows a few Dangerous Dogs too daddy-o........"

Cy5KT5G.jpgzDiEZgK.jpglbc4nWL.jpg

.....quite obviously the Dude means the Wolfpac.....as the trio make their way out from the back to a great reception from this live crowd, strutting their way down the aisle and joining the Dude in the ring, where Kevin Nash is sure to let us know that Wolfpac is indeed in the house.....he tells the crowd that he's spent the last month or so hopping around Casá del Nash on one leg, rehabbing this rickety old knee of his, and while he said he would be back in time for Summerslam......

"......you know, I'm feeling pretty damn good right about now......so how about tonight, the Wolfpac and this Cool Cat right here, how about we team up.....and have a good old fashioned eight man tag match......but Shawn, don't worry......I promise to leave just enough of your scrawny little ass for Summerslam.....so walk your ass down that aisle.....bring your little gutter skank Sunny, bring Pillman.....break out the zimmer's for Flair and Arn.....and let's do this right now........"

HDOWnFw.jpgiXAv5bk.jpgwnBGIqa.jpgmsPbqH3.jpgb965MKg.jpg

.......ask and you shall receive.....because Michaels and company do indeed make their way out.....only as far as the entrance however, where they come to a halt.....and the Heartbreak Kid has a microphone to hand......

".......you want me Nash? You want to step inside the ring with THE man.....the Icon.....the Reason for the Ratings.......you want me? You got me......................at Summerslam......."

......the crowd isn't happy with that, but Shawn tells them to shut up......he tells Nash that the ONLY time he's going to be in that ring with the Heartbreak Kid is at Summerslam......

".......the first time and the last time......because after I kick your teeth down your throat and put you out of a job, you're NEVER going to have a chance to lay your big mitts on me again......"

......Michaels tells Nash that he won't be competing tonight......but if that fat ass Dude Love and the two KLiQ traitors Hall and Waltman want a match, well then Pillman, Flair and Anderson will be happy to oblige......Foley isn't happy with that remark.....telling Shawn that for his information, The Dude has a very nice ass......

".......sure there's a little more padding back there than most, but that just means there's more of the Dude for the chicks to love daddy-o......."

......Pillman takes the microphone, telling the Dude to keep laughing.....keep making jokes......because that's EXACTLY why Dude Love will never be able to beat the TRUE Loose Cannon of the WWF......

"......I've never liked you Foley, but at least as Cactus Jack I could appreciate your penchant for chaos.....but this.....this tie-dyed acid flashback is nothing more than an embarrassment.....you had to make the bad man go away?.....(Pillman puts on a whiny voice while wiping away imaginary tears).....'for my family.....for my children'......you make me sick....do you think the world gives a damn what your little b@stard spawn think? This is the World Wrestling Federation, not Married, with Children....not the Brady Bunch.........little word of advice for you, if your brats didn't like seeing "the bad man", then they're gonna like seeing what I do to you even less.......because after I destroy you, and shove that stupid tie-dye shirt up your ass, they're going to be BEGGING for the bad man to come back......because at least HE wasn't a total embarrassment of a father......"

......something flashes in the Dudes eyes at that comment.....and the happy go lucky demeanour of the Dude slips away for a second to reveal a little bit of the 'bad man'.....but he quickly regains his composure and flashes Pillman a big smile, telling him that it's all good, because at Summerslam, this "embarrassment" is going to pin him one, two, three in the middle of the ring.....and tonight, the Dude and his two main men Scott Hall and Sean Waltman, they're gonna two step all over their faces......

"......Owwww, Have Mercy......."

Our first match of the evening sees one half of our Summerslam European Championship Fatal Four Way match in action (with the other two competitors facing off later in the evening) as reigning Champion, The Rock, faces off against Ken Shamrock in singles action......Shamrock may be the worlds most dangerous man, but he doesn't have many professional wrestling matches under his belt......and while the Rock would still be considered a rookie against most opponents, he's actually the veteran here against his inexperienced opposite.....

......that's not to say Shamrock isn't capable of beating the Rock, in fact far from it.....fresh off a number of good wins, (the most high profile of which coming at In Your House as he defeated Rich Steiner) Shamrock actually looks on track to pick up the victory here tonight......had it not been for the presence of Kama at ringside.......who waffles Shammy round the back of the head with a steel chair on the floor (while the official was distracted by the Rock obviously) and try as he might, Shamrock simply can't make it back inside the ring before the referee makes the mandatory ten count, and as Ken tries to drag himself back under the bottom rope the official calls for the bell, awarding the match to the European Champion.

Winner: The Rock

Rating: B

FOurmAt.jpgGTVuL5X.jpgyiIP524.jpgPST0d7r.jpg

The rest of the Nation join the victorious Rock inside the ring.....Shamrock is clearly eager to gain a measure on revenge against Kama for the chair shot, but as Jim Ross rightly points out, with four members of the Nation in there that would be tantamount to suicide......Shammy doesn’t seem to care however, and with Scorpio and Kama taunting the highly strung MMA star it takes about five backstage workers to convince him to head to the back to get checked out by the medical personnel.....

......Rock is his arrogant best, telling them to get that piece of trash out of here before the Rock lays another beating on his candy ass, with Jim Ross commentating that had it not been for the possible concussion causing chair shot, it may well have taken fifty men to get Ken Shamrock out of here......

......Faarooq grabs a microphone to let everyone know that what happened here tonight with Ken Shamrock, is EXACTLY what’s going to be happening at Summerslam......the Nation are going to be walking IN as winners, and walking OUT as winners.......with the European and the Light Heavyweight Title still in their grasp......because while “the man” can hold a brother down, he can’t hold a Nation down......and the Nation is united in their common goal........

LIoPOQU.jpgtVfGex3.jpg

.........it looks like “the man” is here.......the Mac-Man anyway......and he’s not alone......he’s got his personal problem solver Kane with him.......

......he first of all congratulates The Rock on his victory......stating that it seems that the Nation of Domination will indeed win by any means necessary.......of course, there’s still one championship match to be announced for Summerslam......

”......and that’s YOUR title Faarooq......the Intercontinental Title.....”

......he tells Faarooq not to worry though.....he put his title AND his career on the line last month......THIS month it’s just the Championship in the line......however, since the Nation are so intent on playing the numbers game......and since both The Rock and Scorpio will be competing in multi-man matches, it’s only fair that Faarooq do the same......but to prove that he is a fair boss, Faarooq will only have to defend against TWO individuals, instead of the three that the other Nation members have......

”......and to be even fairer, those two individuals are more concerned with each other right now......so chances are you can sit right back and watch them fight........of course, should one of them defeat the other one you’ll lose the Intercontinental Championship, but that’s neither here nor there.......so at Summerslam, it’s going to be Faarooq, putting the Intercontinental Title on the line, against..............Owen Hart..........and the British Bulldog.......”

.......Faarooq doesn’t look to happy about that, and complains loudly about McMahon going out of his way to hold the brothers down, before telling him that he’s nothing but a rac.......actually, we don’t get to hear what it is he’s about to call him, because as McMahon smirks, Faarooq’s microphone abruptly gets cut off, and we go straight to commercial.

Now here’s a David and Goliath match if ever you saw one......as Super-heavyweight Psycho Sid goes up against Light-Heavyweight Christopher Daniels......and this is a match apparently made (as the commentators inform us) by Raven, presumably as a punishment of sorts for Daniels recent actions......and by actions we of course mean his lack of complete and utter compliance in recent weeks......

.....to his credit, Sid doesn’t look especially pleased to be facing a man half his size, with both he and Jake (who has accompanied Sid to the ring) telling Daniels that he doesn’t have to do this.......Raven (who has accompanied Daniels to the ring) says that yes he DOES have to do this......and Daniels agrees......although he says he has to do it, not because Raven says so, but for himself......

.......Sid reluctantly agrees, and this one gets underway......and Daniels DOES manage to get some offence in on his much larger opponent, using his speed to bob and weave and strike.......the result was inevitable however, and Raven’s constant badgering from the floor didn’t help Daniels concentration levels any.....as Sid finally caught hold of him, finally finishing him off with the Powerbomb.

Winner: Psycho Sid

Raven isn’t happy about the loss......and he verbally berates Daniels, before dragging him to his feet and ordering him to attack Sid....and as The Fallen Angel hesitated for just a second longer than Raven is happy with, the leader of the Flock delivers a humiliating back handed slap, telling him to do as Raven decrees.......

.......Daniels runs his jaw, before walking over to the big seven footer......he doesn’t offer any offence however, but what he does offer is his hand........Sid accepts the offering, with Daniels thanking him for the match as the two men shake, before Daniels turns and barges past Raven, exiting to the back......

.......Raven looks to be absolutely livid, grabbing a microphone and climbing alone into the ring, saying that as usual he has to do everything by himself......he tells Sid that this all comes to an end at Summerslam......Raven vs. Sid, one more time.........Jake takes the microphone and counters with “one LAST time”......

......Raven looks confused for a moment, before Jake expands on that, telling Raven that the theme of the night for Summerslam seems to be do or die........so if Psycho Sid can’t defeat Raven in thirteen days from now......he will leave the World Wrestling Federation.......

......obviously Raven accepts that, beat Sid and he’s gone? Why wouldn’t he accept?.....but Jake isn’t done.......he says that in this game of life, both men must offer a stake.......and while Sid offers his career......Raven must offer his Flock......Raven wins, Sid is gone.......but if Sid wins......the Fock must disband......and Raven truly will have to go it alone......

.......Raven isn’t so happy about that......but with some goading from Sid he does finally accept.......as another match for Summerslam is made official.

From there we go to the back, where another challenge for Summerslam is about to be levied.....as Dok Hendrix is standing by with a p!ssed off looking Bradshaw......Hendrix says that two weeks ago the Big Red Monster Kane cost the Texan his match against Rich Steiner, before brutally attacking him after the bell.......and LAST week, it was Bradshaw on the offence as he assaulted Mr. McMahon’s personal problem solver in the back........

......Bradshaw isn’t much of a talker, so this is kept short and sweet (and carried by Hendrix)......Bradshaw says that Kane might think he’s a problem solver, but he’s never met a problem like Bradshaw......he wants to go around laying his hands on people, well Bradshaw ain’t never backed down from a fight a day in his life, and he sure as hell ain’t gonna start now......which is why he wants a match with Kane at Summerslam......

.......Hendrix questions that decision, stating that Kane is a certified monster.......but Bradshaw simply rotates his shoulder, telling Hendrix that’s fine......because this big arm right here is a certified monster slayer......and he’s gonna Clothesline Kane straight back to hell.

Fatal Four Way Match

Next up we have a preview of our WWF Tag Team Title: Fatal Four Way Match set for Summerslam......as one half of each of the teams involved face off here.......it’s Chris Candido, Billy Gunn, Christian and Stevie Ray......and as Jim Ross informs us, all partners have been banned from ringside.....

.......it’s a somewhat chaotic affair at times, and with only Chris Candido spending the majority of his career as a singles star, he certainly adapts to life without a partner better than the rest during this one......not that it really helps him in the end, because Billy Gunn was able to pull out a cheap victory, rolling up Stevie Ray with a good handful of tights to give the New Age Outlaws some momentum heading into Summerslam.

Winner: Billy Gunn

It’s back to Dok Hendrix we go now, who is currently in the locker room of a rather distracted WWF Champion in Scott Steiner......who is currently rifling through his bags looking for something.......Hendrix asks him a number of times for his thoughts on his upcoming match with Bret Hart tonight, as well has his WWF Title defence against Ahmed Johnson at Summerslam, but Steiner is too preoccupied to notice, muttering something to himself about “not being able to find it” and “that panty sniffing freak Goldsmith had better not have been in here”.....and so on and so forth, until Dok finally taps the man on his massive shoulder, eliciting a loud ”...WHAT?...” from the WWF Champion.....

.......Dok again repeats his questions......how he feels about facing Bret Hart tonight......and then Ahmed Johnson in thirteen days time at Summerslam, when Ahmed insists that Scott Steiner will be going down?.....

”......GOING DOWN AT SUMMERSLAM?.....DOK, BIG POPPA PUMP GOES DOWN EVERY SINGLE NIGHT.............GOES DOWN ON HIS FREAKS.......WHO GO WEAK......AT THE KNEES WHEN THEY SEE THESE PEAKS........SEE SCOTT STEINER, HE’S A REAL MAN.....HE SAY’S HE’S GONNA DO SOMETHING, AND HE DOES IT.......I TOLD THE WORLD I’D BEAT MY BROTHER FOR THE INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPIONSHIP, AND I DID......I SAID I’D WIN THE ROYAL RUMBLE STILL THE INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPION, AND I DID........I SAID I’D GO ON TO WRESTLEMANIA, STILL THE INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPION, BEAT THE BOY TOY AND WALK OUT WITH TWO BELTS........AND I DID........SO WHEN I SAY I’M WALKING INTO SUMMERSLAM THE WWF CHAMPION AND WALKING OUT OF SUMMERSLAM THE WWF CHAMPION, YOU CAN BE DAMN SURE I’M GONNA DO IT......

......AS FOR BRET HART, ALL HE’S DONE RECENTLY IS B!TCH AND MOAN......GET HIS LITTLE PINK PANTIES IN A BUNCH BECAUSE HE CAN’T GET THE JOB DONE.....IT’S ALWAYS SOMEONE ELSE’S FAULT......WELL TONIGHT, IT’S GONNA BE SCOTT STEINER’S FAULT THAT HE’S HEADING BACK HOME TO CANADIA WITH THAT MAPLE LEAF FLAG SHOVED UP HIS ASS......NOW GET THE HELL OUT OF HERE HENDRIX, I’M BUSY.......”

......Dok asks Scotty what it is he’s looking for?.....Steiner said that his lead pipe went missing last week......now he can’t find his goddamn chainmail headgear.......Dok says that he doesn’t know about the headgear, but Goldust had the pipe last week (jeez Dok, what a stooge).......

”.......GOLDUST?......THAT FACE PAINED FREAKSHOW?.....WHAT THE HELL WAS HE DOING WITH IT?.....”

.......Dok says that the last he saw, he was sniffing it.......to which Steiner launches his bag across the room with a shout, before shoving Hendrix out of the door and slamming it behind him......as a loud series of crashes and bangs emanate from inside......Goldust may have just p!ssed the wrong man off......and Bret Hart had better hope it’s not HIM that pays for it tonight.

We saw the Rock defeat Ken Shamrock earlier in the evening (all be it by the cheapest of means) and now it’s time for the other half of that European Championship Fatal Four Way Match, as Matt Hardy ventures out into the land of singles competition against the Million Dollar Corporations Jeff Jarrett.....

......to say that Jarrett had the experience edge here would be an understatement.....and not only in terms of In ring experience, but singles experience as well......Matt Hardy may have started young, and has more years in the ring than most wrestlers his age, but he’s spent the last few years predominantly wrestling as part of a team, and it’s going to take him a while to fully adjust to being all alone or there.....

.......Jarrett however takes full advantage of that experience......he takes full advantage of the Million Dollar Man’s presence at ringside too, who distracts Hardy as he’s perched on the top rope......Jarrett knocks the youngsters legs out from under him, and as Hardy crashes to the mat Jeff rolls him up in a tight small package to give him the victory here tonight.

From there we go backstage, where Dok Hendrix is with Goldust and his entourage in the Bizarre One’s dressing room.....instead of his usual blonde wig however, Goldust is wearing the chain-mail headgear that Big Poppa Pump was searching for earlier, running his fingers over the cold metal links with a shudder of delight that leaves Dok looking frankly disturbed.......he asks Goldust what he is doing......first the lead pipe of Steiner, now the chain-mail.....what possible use could he have for that?......

”.....In your Easter bonnet, with all the frills upon it, you'll be the grandest lady in the Easter parade......Alexander’s Ragtime Band: 1938......

.......and I do feel like the grandest lady at the parade Dok.......with my bonnet and my favourite accessory......”

.......his favourite accessory being Scott Steiner’s lead pipe apparently, which he picks up and proceeds to fondle......Dok says that if he’s not careful, he’s going to attract the attention of the WWF Champion Scott Steiner.......

”.......but of course I will Dok......and who wouldn’t want that......the attention of a big......mmm’burly......mmmm’bear of a man.......everybody knows that Scott Steiner only cares about his freakssssss......and his peaks.......well I’ll be his freak Dok.......I’ll be the freakiest thing he’s ever met.......and he will NEVER forget the name......Goooooldusttttt.......”

.......Dok asks Goldie if it’s Scott Steiner that the Bizarre One is interested in, or the WWF Title that’s around his waist? But Goldust just chuckles at that......telling Dok that surely the fun part.....will be finding out.......before snapping his fingers at Marcus, who quickly tosses Dok out of the room......it’s time for commercial folks.

Next up is a match that was set up at the beginning of the show, and in all honesty is a match that could easily close most shows.....of course, most shows don’t feature former WWF Champion Bret “The Hitman” Hart facing off against current WWF Champion Scott Steiner.....which is the only reason that this match isn’t the main event of the evening......

......it’s Dude Love teaming up with two thirds of the Wolfpac, Scott Hall and Sean Waltman to face off against three of the late 1995 Four Horsemen, Brian Pillman, Ric Flair and Arn Anderson.......the Dude originally wanted Big Sexy Kevin Nash on his team.......along with the Heartbreak Kid Shawn Michaels on the opposing team, but good old HBK put a stop to that, saying that Shawn Michaels and Kevin Nash will face off one time and one time only.....and that’s at Summerslam.....not that the two men have stayed in the back......because both Nash and Michaels are right there at ringside.....

.......the Dude is clearly keen to prove Brian Pillman wrong, who claims that “Dude Love” is nothing more than an embarrassment.......and an embarrassment that simply can’t beat the true Loose Cannon of wrestling......but he has a hard task getting hold of Pillman here.....who frustrates the Dude (with a manic laugh each time) by tagging out every time the Dude tags in.......

......the Wolfpac, along with Flair and Anderson on the other hand are happy to square off with each other just thirteen days before their Summerslam clash.....while Nash on the outside does his best to goad Shawn Michaels into throwing down on the floor.....not that Michaels is going for it, and he makes sure to always be on the opposite side of the ring to his former friend......although of course, with so much going on, the official was bound to miss something......and what he did miss, was HBK easily out running another Kevin Nash advance, before kicking the big man right in the knee......and as Nash cries out in pain, Michaels rolls into the ring and hits the Dude right in the jaw with some Sweet Chin Music......

.......and quick as a flash Brian Pillman is there to make the cover.....and as the referee counts three he laughs like a hyena, letting the Dude know that he told him that he couldn’t beat the Loose Cannon......and he’s just proved it here.....just like he’s going to prove it again at Summerslam.

Winner(s): Brian Pillman, Ric Flair & Arn Anderson

Hey, it’s Dok Hendrix again......damn, we need a Michael Cole or something around here......where’s Sean Mooney when you need him.......anyway......like I say, it’s Dok Hendrix.....and his guests right now, The Hart Foundation, Bret and Owen Hart.....along with honorary members Chris Jericho and his bodyguard Test......

......Dok tells Bret that tonight may not be a good night to be facing the WWF Champion Scott Steiner.....because the last time Dok saw him he was smashing up his locker room in rage.....Bret just smirks at that.....asking when ISN’T Big Poppa Pump angry......but that’s fine with Bret.....

”......because you know what angry people do Dok?....they make mistakes.....they run on emotion, and that emotion leaves them easy pickings for a true excellence of execution like myself.....and when I’m done making Scott Steiner submit tonight to the Sharpshooter, I’m going to march straight into Vince McMahons office and DEMAND a shot at the WWF Title.....”

.......Dok says that’s all well and good, but there’s also the little matter of facing Stone Cold Steve Austin at Summerslam......in a no holds barred match none the less, a match that Steve Austin must surely have the advantage in......Bret asks why? Because he’s a brawler? A fighter? A thug?......Bret says he was raised in the Dungeon.....he says he learnt a thousand different ways to hurt a man in a wrestling match......and a thousand and one ways to hurt a man in a fight......and at Summerslam, Steve Austin is in for the fight of his life.......

......Dok says speaking of Summerslam, Owen Hart must be delighted at the announcement that he will be joining the British Bulldog and Faarooq, in a Triple Threat Match for the WWF Intercontinental Title?......Owen says of course he is......because not only does he get to get his hands on that mangy no good Bulldog, but he gets to win the Intercontinental Championship at the same time......just like Chris Jericho is going to win the Light Heavyweight Championship at Summerslam, and retire the whole division when he proved that he’s the best light heavyweight there is.....the best light heavyweight there was.....and the LAST light heavyweight there ever will be......

......Dok questions Jericho next......telling him that he may well be the last light heavyweight champion......or he may well find himself unemployed, since HIS career is now the only one on the line......and by his own choice......why gamble such huge stakes for such little return?.....

”........gamble? Where’s the gamble Hendrix? When you’re backing the Ayatollah of RocknRolla, you’re backing a dead cert baby......my career is locked down more securely than that damn hair piece on top of your head.......and as for why......the why is simple......it’s so people like Mr. Monotony Dean Malenko and Little Junior there, the masked midget......it’s so people like that can sit back and watch as the Light Heavyweight Division disappears right in front of their eyes........and when they realise that they can never......eeeeever.......challenge for that light heavyweight title again, that will be the best reward of all.......”

So it’s main event time and (despite the lack of an associated storyline) I did have high hopes for this one......I wasn’t disappointed either.....Scotty is my five star match machine, while the Hitman has pulled damn near five stars out of even Sid, so they were bound to put on a classic......

......Steiner is out with no lead pipe and no chain-mail head piece in sight (mainly because they are currently in the possession of Goldust.......and you might want to wash them if you do get them back Scotty).....while the Hitman is also missing something.......because Owen, Jericho and Test all appear to be staying in the back.....Rude claims that this is because when Bret makes Steiner submit in about five minutes from now, he’s going to march right into McMahons office and demand a title shot......and he doesn’t want Vince to have any excuses to turn him down, because if beating the WWF Champion clean in the middle of the ring doesn’t get you a title shot, then what will?.....

......of course, as Shawn Michaels found out (on three separate occasions no less) beating Scott Steiner is easier said than done.....especially clean.....and the WWF Champion uses his superior strength to manhandle the Hitman in the opening portion of this match......Bret goes to the eyes to finally put a stop to the ongoing assault, before chopping Steiner’s leg out from under him and going to work on the leg.....Steiner is nothing if not resilient however.....after all, when you have held the WWF Tag Team, Intercontinental and World Titles in the space of eighteen months......AND won a Royal Rumble to boot, you know how to put up a fight......and that’s exactly what Steiner does......fight his way right back into this.........

qQmwebo.jpg

.......which is when Bret obviously decides that winning this match full stop is more important than winning this match alone......because his brother Owen comes running down the aisle......although he doesn’t get far.......

AvJwLJZ.jpg

......because the British Bulldog is hot on his trail to put a stop to any shenanigans before they even start.........as he and Owen commence brawling on the floor.......

FOurmAt.jpgGTVuL5X.jpgyiIP524.jpgPST0d7r.jpg

.......at least until the Nation of Domination make their way out from the back to join in the fun, as they look to soften up Faarooq’s two Summerslam challengers, proceeding to deliver a four on two beatdown of the brothers in-law.........what a shambles eh?......

LjBLTcA.jpg

........which is probably why the official fails to see this man enter the ring......because Steve Austin has come through the crowd and he spins Bret Hart around.....kicks him in the gut.......and drops him with the Stone Cold Stunner......before flipping the downed Hitman the double bird and rolling back out of the ring........

.......Steiner could care less, and calls the official over before making the cover.....and three seconds later Steve Austin has just screwed Bret Hart out of an opportunity to defeat the WWF Champion.

Winner: Scott Steiner

Bret slowly comes around, (as Scott Steiner celebrates), and sees his brother still being assaulted by the Nation of Domination.....he goes to exit the ring looking to give Owen (if not the Bulldog) a helping hand.....he doesn’t make it however......because Stone Cold is back over the crowd barrier and tackles the Hitman into the ring steps before commencing to exchange a series of right hands with his Summerslam opponent.....

.......Owen and Davey Boy may be sworn enemies (and opponents in thirteen days time) but they are going to have to work together here in an effort to thwart the attack of the Nation.....and that doesn’t look like it’s going to happen any time soon, because the last thing Owen is going to do is help out the Bulldog......

......Steiner on the other hand is obviously feeling more generous......either that or bored......because he does decide to give Davey Boy a helping hand, dragging Kama and Scorpio off him and tossing them into the safety barrier.....he helps the Bulldog to his feet, who proceeds to start exchanging blows with Faarooq, while Owen goes at it with The Rock........as Bret and Austin tumble over the safety rails where they continue their battle in the crowd........that just leaves Steiner all alone...........

dnLuBx8.jpgj24FAoX.jpg

........at least until Ahmed Johnson (with manager Jim Cornette) makes his way out onto the ramp.......he’s not here to fight though.......merely attempt to intimidate......only problem with that is Scott Steiner doesn’t get intimidated......and amidst the backdrop of a sea of brawling fighters, Champion and Challenger go face to face, eye to eye.......neither man blinking, neither man backing down.......as the crowd goes wild and the show comes to a close.

We are just six days away from Road Wild.....and just six days away from Sting and The Warrior facing off against the Mega Powers of Professional Wrestling.....Hollywood Hogan and Macho Man Randy Savage.......both of whom are making their way out now, along with the rest of the Titans of Wrestling.......and after the assault of the Warrior last week, and Sting’s agreement that should Hollywood defeat HIM at Road Wild in that Tag Team Match, then Sting will not be granted a WCW Championship Match for as long as Hogan has the belt, the WCW Champion appears to be in a very good mood......obviously the fact that Russo agreed that should Sting defeat Hogan in that tag match he gets a WCW Title shot next month, isn’t even factoring into his mindset right about now......

......the group enter the ring as a unit and its Vince Russo that takes the microphone, saying that all is good in the camp of the Titans.......the Warrior has been taken out......Sting is GOING to be taken out......the Nasty Boys are going to regain the WCW Tag Team Titles from the Road Warriors (if they know what is good for them)......and to top it all off, as a VERY special treat tonight.......Hollywood Hogan, the biggest Icon In all of Professional Wrestling.....is going to lace up those boots, and put the WCW Championship on the line, for the entertainment of all you morons in the crowd.......

”.......see, while Hollywood will be in Tag Team competition on Sunday, the old men sat on the WCW Championship Committee have DEMANDED that Hogan put the gold on the line tonight........but those old farts didn’t speculate WHO our man Hollywood had to face.......so I’ve signed one of the hottest free agents in the sport to face Hollywood.......a man who has held Championships in every promotion he’s been in bro........a man, who once he passes his initiation tonight, will be the NEWEST member, of the Titans of Wrestling..........”

”.......Curt Hennig......”

.......the rest of the Titans stand applauding as the former Mr. Perfect makes his WCW debut.....the name might be different but there’s no mistaking that cocky swagger (and gum swat) as the newest member of the WCW roster makes his way down the aisle and in to the ring, where he shakes hands with all of the Titans......

......Russo pulls a contract out of his pocket, telling Hennig that here is his (very lucrative) future right here......a brand new WCW contract just waiting for his signature......

”......which I will hand to you personally to sign.......AFTER tonight’s main event......because Hollywood will be putting the title on the line.......and you know what you have to do.......right?....”

......Hennig tells Russo not to worry, he knows EXACTLY what he has to do tonight.....because he’s here to add a little bit of perfection to the Titans of Wrestling, before giving a little wink and shaking Hogans hand, as Tony Schiavone bemoans the fact that Hennig is clearly going to take the dive tonight, giving Hollywood an easy victory just six days away from Road Wild.

Our first match of the evening sees WCW newcomer Jeff Hardy in action, fresh off his surprise reveal and victory over Eddie Guerrero last week......a victory which grants him a shot at the WCW United States Championship at Road Wild, a fact that Eddie Guerrero is none to happy with.....but then that’s what happens when you go around making open challenges......

.....Hardy’s opponent tonight is perennial jobber to the stars VK Wallstreet, a solid if unspectacular performer who will give anyone a decent match, which is exactly what this was....and as Schiavone fawns over Hardy, telling us what a coup it was to land this talented youngster, Jeff puts his opponent away with the now familiar Swanton Bomb.

Winner: Jeff Hardy

Hardy mounts the second turnbuckle to celebrate in front of these fans that have obviously taken to him........which is when the United States Champion comes skulking down the aisle like the Repo Man......he slowly rolls into the ring and unhooks his title belt from around his waist and clutching it like a weapon, slowly advancing on the unsuspecting Jeff Hardy.......

.......the crowd does their best to warn Jeff, and like a true pantomime villain Guerrero places his finger on his lips, encouraging the fans to quiet down.....Hardy obviously got the message however, because quick as a flash he steps up to the top rope and comes flying off with a Whisper in the Wind that almost takes Guerrero’s head off......

......Eddie drops the US Title as he rolls to the safety of the outside, leaving Jeff alone in the ring to pick up the strap and hold it high in the air for these approving fans....as Schiavone tells us that if Jeff Hardy can defeat Eddie Guerrero one more time at Road Wild, he will be the new WCW United States Champion.

Straight back to the action now, as The Ultimate Warrior Lite, everybody’s favourite paint covered performer (What? Don’t laugh.....there’s a kid out there somewhere that loves......) the Renegade, goes up against the true Sherman Tank of a man, Scott Norton and his hugely barrelled chest.....

......I’d like to say this was a pretty even affair, but that would be a lie.....Flash beat the snot out of the Renegade (ha, suck on that Renegade you stroppy little sh!t) with little real retaliation from the (Big Baby)face....and when Renegade DID finally begin to show a little bit of offence, he was quickly distracted by the arrival of Mortis and his manager James Vandenberg, who make their way down the aisle.....

.....not that Norton really needed the assist, finishing off the hapless Renegade with an inverted shoulder breaker for the three count.

Winner: Scott Norton

In somewhat of a reoccurring theme, the masked Mortis makes his way into the ring, with his microphone wielding manager following him in.....Mortis drags the Renegade to his feet, and holds him in place so that Vandenberg can look the man in the eyes as he tells him that he warned him this would happen.......he warned him that imperfections would no longer be tolerated here in WCW.......Vandenberg reaches out and rubs his hand over the painted face of the Renegade, attempting to wipe the red and yellow colours (what’s left of them anyway) away, telling him that he is nothing but a cheap imitation.....and imitation is NOT the most sincere form of flattery.....it is merely the instruments of the unoriginal.....before finally telling Mortis to finish the imposter off for good.....

.......Mortis spins his victim around and sets him up for what appears to be a Flatliner......accept the Renegade has apparently had enough of the constant abuse and attacks, breaking free from the hold with a series of elbow strikes that rock the masked man, before unloading with a number of right hands that back his attacker up against the ropes......

......Renegade backs up and sends Mortis flying over the top with a running Clothesline, before turning to focus his attention on Vandenberg, who immediately bolts and joins his man on the outside.....as the two would be attackers retreat to the back, leaving the Renegade to beat his chest in the middle of the ring.

Last week it was Earl Robert Eaton stepping into the ring with veteran Rick Martel......this week it’s his partner, the Rookie Duke, Douglas Williams who has the pleasure of tangling with Martel, less than one week before the former Model meets the head of state of the Blue Blood family, his Lordship, Steven Regal (even though technically.....and I may be wrong.....I think a Lord would be below and Earl.....and a Duke above them both but hey ho) for Regal’s Television Championship......

.......Regal has guaranteed that both Eaton and Williams will not be a factor in their Road Wild clash.....just as Eaton and Regal are not a factor here tonight unfortunately for Williams, because he really could have done with the help.....maybe then Martel wouldn’t have had him submitting to the Boston Crab......and for Rick Martel, that’s two Blue Bloods down, one to go......the one with the Television Title.

To the back we go now.....and from Television Title implications, the focus switches to the Tag Team Title’s, as Champions The Road Warriors are backstage with Mean Gene.....Gene says that it would appear that Vince Russo has set his sights on bringing those WCW Tag Team Championships back into the gold of the Titans of Wrestling......and he’s made it clear that the Nasty Boy’s position within the group may be at stake should they fail to win at Road Wild.......and that in itself should make for some very desperate....and very dangerous opponents......

.......Animal doesn’t agree, shouting at Gene that the only two dangerous men in that match, are standing right here.......he says the Road Warriors are the Tag Team Champions, and the Road Warriors are going to stay the Tag Team Champions, no matter how desperate the Nasty Boys are......”tell ‘em Hawk”......

”.......WELLLLLL.....MEAN GENE........IF YOU ASK ME.....THE ONLY THING DANGEROUS ABOJT THE NASTY BOYS......IS THEIR BODY ODOUR.......IN FACT, I’M A LITTLE JEALOUS OF THEM GENE.......”

“.........jealous?.......of the Nasty Boys?......”

“.......JEALOUS.......YOU KNOW WHY?.......BECAUSE AFTER ME AND ANIMAL KNOCK THEIR NOSES SIDEWAYS ACROSS THEIR STINKING FACES, THEY’RE NEVER GONNA HAVE TO SUFFER THE STENCH OF THEOR PUNGENT ARMPITS EVER AGAIN......BUT THEN, AFTER THIS MATCH.....THEY'RE NEVER GOING TO SUFFER ANYTHING.....BECAUSE WE’RE GONNA PUT THEM DOWN LIKE THE MONGREL DOGS THEY ARE........UHHHHH......WHAT A R.........”

......or that catchphrase at least.......because Knobbs and Saggs, the Nasty Boys come flying into shot with a couple of steel chairs.....that they smash across the backs of the Road Warriors with a sickening crash.....before showing EVERYONE just how desperate and dangerous they are, as they each lay about ten shots each on both Hawk and Animal respectively, before throwing the steel to the ground, telling Hawk and Animal that one way or another, those Tag Team Titles are coming home with the Nasty’s this Sunday night.

Time for Tag Team action now.......and as the Soul Train took on the intimidating combination of Mike Awesome and Gideon Cain, we actually learned something pretty interesting in this match.......well, two things actually, but one of those has obviously been a note before that I missed......because Missy has managed Awesome during a match before now, I just obviously didn’t notice the note that the duo had some good chemistry as a pairing.......which is fortunate, because Awesome really does need a mouthpiece........but not only that, we found out this evening, that Mike Awesome and Gideon Cain have some EXCELLENT chemistry as Tag Team Partners.......which is even better.....because while I DIDN’T have plans with them as a full time team, they were clearly going to have to team on occasion.......although with this Tag Team display, maybe they will find themselves as more of a permanent fixture in the Tag Team ranks in the future.......and that excellent chemistry, is what probably helped the pair tonight, after finishing off the enormous Ice Train with an assisted Powerbomb.

Missy Hyatt quickly bounces into the ring, shoving the official to one side so that she can raise her victorious men’s arms, before grabbing a microphone......she does all the talking while her two walking man mountains stand menacingly behind her......she says that it’s funny, how after getting just a little taste of her clients power, that The Giant.....Bam Bam Bigelow and Vader, all quickly turned their attention away from Mike Awesome and Gideon Cain.....and decided that they would be better off just fighting amongst themselves.....

”......because they know, that when it comes to a battle of the giants, they’ve got nothing on my big boys......”

.......she says that while THEY might be more interested in fighting each other, Awesome and Cain are still interested in proving that they are the BEST big men in wrestling today.....and since Missy has always been partial to a little three way action.....how about we make a little triangle match for Road Wild......Vader and Bam Bam.....the Giant "and I guess Lex Luger, since he insists on keep coming out here" against Mike Awesome and Gideon Cain......whaddya say to that boys?......

......the Giant is out first, with Lex Luger in tow.....obviously Luger has less of a stake in this challenge but he's there to back up his friend, and the duo quickly accept, especially (claims Luger) if it means that they can finally move on from this distraction and get back to focusing on Hogan and the Titans of Wrestling........Vader and Bam Bam aren't far behind, and they happily accept the challenge too, before breaking out into an argument with Luger and the Giant (mainly the Giant to be fair) about who's going to get their hands on Awesome first.....and argument that soon transcends into a shoving match, as Missy and her men once again watch on from a distance laughing, while their Road Wild opponents concentrate on each other.

It's that time of the show again.....time to wheel out the rookie Bill Goldberg and his latest victim......tonight's challenge comes in the form of a former pirate and current Amazing French Canadian.....Carl Oulette......there's not much to say really.....it was short and sweet and the result was pretty much a given.....you know how it goes by now....Spear, Jackhammer.......splat.....Bill Goldberg wins again.

It's backstage we go again now.....and Mean Gene is with the man called Sting.....a man who, should he manage to defeat Hollywood Hogan in Sunday nights tag team main event, will be competing for the WCW Championship at next months Pay Per view offering......of course should Hollywood defeat HIM, then the Stinger will not be granted a World Title opportunity for as long as Hogan holds the gold.......an outcome that is looking more possible by the minute, because Stings partner I'm that match, The Warrior......is nowhere to be seen......an observation that Gene makes immediately, asking Sting where his brother in pain is?......

......Sting says he doesn't know......before saying that this is exactly why he wanted to be left alone......why he didn't want....need.......or offer help to ANYONE.....because no one can be relied upon.....no one can be trusted......and no one is there when you need them......he says he stupidly put his faith in the Warrior and where has it got him? But that's ok.....because if Sting has to take on both Hogan and Savage alone.....if Sting has to defeat two men by himself to get a shot at the WCW Championship, then that's exactly what he will do.

It's back down to ringside for more tag team action now, as Buff Bagwell attempts to impress the Titans of Wrestling when he teams up with Jean Paul Levesque to take on Diamond Dallas Page and Chris Benoit.....although to be fair, after doing the job to Page last week, Levesque isn't in the Titan's (and specifically Vince Russo's) good books.....there isn't much patience for failure in the Titans.....

......Schiavone informs us that this match is a preview of sorts for Road Wild, because in six days Diamond Dallas Page will be clashing once again with Buff Bagwell.....while Chris Benoit will have his hands full with Jean Paul Levesque......Page and Benoit have their hands full this evening too.....because while they DO have the beautiful Kimberly in their corner, she's certainly no Enforcer.......unlike Ray Traylor who is out there to support his Titan Teammate and the Titan in Training.....which is exactly why Levesque was able to capitalise on the interference of the nightstick wielding Enforcer, hitting Page with the Pedigree to get his heat back brother.

Following that the rest of the Titans make their way out, along with newest member Curt Hennig.....well, ALMOST the newest member, there's just the little matter of his initiation.....Russo tells Bagwell that "you did good tonight kid.....a few more displays like that and you might just be Titan material, but right now bro I need you to head to the back.....because this is Titan business, and you ain't one of us yet".....

.....Bagwell thanks Mr. Russo for the kind words, before doing as requested and heading to the showers.....Russo says that it's about that time......it's initiation time.....he pulls a pen and the contract out from his pocket and tells Hennig that he's just moments away from signing the most lucrative contract of his life......

"......so if you want to do the honours......and boys, if you all want to join young Buff in the back......we wouldn't want anyone claiming that Hollywood won this match with any help now would we......"

......Hennig (much to the disappointment of the crowd) lays down right in the middle of the ring as the rest of the Titans head to the back. Russo tells an official to "get his zebra ass out here so we can get this over with" before hopping to the outside.....Charles Robinson makes his way out and climbs into the ring.....he looks reluctant to ring the bell for this sham of a match however, at least until Russo tells him there are plenty of other referees out there if he doesn't want to do his job "so ring the damn bell......Curt Hennig has a contract to sign"......

"........actually........he doesn't........"

......apparently Eric Bischoff has something to say? After removing his headset to pick up a microphone.....not just to the confusion of Russo, but to the confusion of Schiavone and Tenay too......He tells Russo to hold on just a minute.....

"......you see, the WCW Championship Committee had a feeling that you might try and pull something like this....but they were willing to give you the benefit of the doubt.....that didn't mean they were unprepared however......they have however always been somewhat of a faceless committee, operating in a more backstage capacity............until now....."

.....Bischoff cracks that Ken Doll sh!t eating grin, before pointing at his adorably dimpled face......Russo is not happy about that, stating that Bischoff doing such a p!ss poor job of running this place was what got Russo this job in the first place, now he's the face of the Championship Committee? Bischoff says he's more than that.....he's much more......he's the counterpart to Russo.....the Ying to his Yang......but don't get your little panties in a bunch, Russo is still technically "the boss".......you can just think of Bischoff as.....the voice of reason.....the Commissioner if you will.......a role that comes with certain perks and responsibilities.....

......Russo cuts him off right there.....telling Bischoff that he ain't cancelling this match bro.....it's signed, it's sealed.....its official......Hollywood Hogan will be defending his WCW Championship tonight against Curt Hennig, and that's the last defence he will have to make for thirty days, and then Hennig will be signing this contract right here......Bischoff says he has no intention of cancelling the match........but Curt Hennig will NOT be signing that contract right there......

"......because he already signed THIS contract right here......."

......Bischoff holds up a WCW contract, with Curt Hennig's perfect signature on the bottom.....before pointing at the ring......and as Hollywood turns around, WCW's latest signing Curt Hennig punches the WCW Champion square in the face.....as Charles Robinson rings the bell......looks like Hogan is going to have to defend the Title the old fashioned way after all.....

.....because Curt Hennig is straight on the attack.....Schiavone is jubilant on commentary following Eric Bischoff's blockbuster announcement, stating that finally WCW is going to have a fighting chance around here, as Hennig goes to town on the World Champion......there aren't May people that are granted this sort of opportunity in their debut match for a company.....in fact, the last person to challenge for the World Title on his first match with the company may well have been Hollywood Hogan himself back in 1994.....but even then he had appeared on TV before hand......

......this is far from the first time that these two men have clashed, but this is a stark contrast from the American Made Hulk Hogan's battles with the dastardly Mr. Perfect, and Hollywood is completely on the back foot here, clearly unprepared for a fair fight.....he does manage to cheat his way back into the match with Russo cheering him on from ringside, but Hennig is here to make an impression, and manages to turn the tides one more, finally catching Hogan and hitting him with the Perfec.....erm, Hennig Plex, as Tony Schiavone practically orgasms live on air as the official counts one.......two.......thr.........but not three.........because Vince Russo dives into the ring and kicks Charles Robinson right in the ribs, before signalling to the back for re-enforcements.........Hennig has won this match.......but only by disqualification......which means your WCW Champion is STILL Hollywood Hogan......

......not that Curt gets to celebrate.....because the entire Titans of Wrestling come running out from the back and pounce on him......this probably isn't how Russo envisioned his evening ending, but after being embarrassed by both Bischoff and Hennig, a show of strength is needed, and they certainly provide that here, as Hennig is utterly destroyed......and in a display eerie reminiscent of last week, Hennig is left laying as Savage spray paints a big T.o.W on his back, and all the momentum is immediately back in camp Titan, just six days away from Road Wild......and as Hogan and crew celebrate in the ring, a lone figure walk out from the back, coming to a halt at the entrance way..........

Perhaps the Calgary Connection were just stirring, as they’re certainly pushing for a World tag title shot, and results like this will only help their cause knowing Commissioner Ventura: Savage and Steiner were not on the same page at all during the main event! While perhaps that’s to be expected given the stakes in play, the tag champions went after each other with all the force they could muster, showing each other as little quarter as Steamboat or Sting – and just ten days ago all four had sided together in War Games! All bonds of fellowship were forgotten as the quartet brawled in and out of the ring, Paul E. cheering on their efforts indiscriminately – any of them getting hurt was fine by him! With so much chaos to oversee, small wonder that the referee missed Hart and Pillman’s intervention as they floored Steiner with Ice Cold In Alberta while the official checked on Steamboat and Sting, who’d collided on the outside. With all three of his opponents down Savage had to take action – and he leapt from the top rope with a Macho Man Elbow on his partner to secure the win and title shot. But at what cost to his team with the man he defeated?</div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> Before the Calgary Connection can get at the champions, however, they have to get past Nikita Koloff and Dustin Rhodes, as the two friends of Barry Windham want revenge for their fallen comrade!</div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> While all the chaos was unfolding, Rude had his own challenge for the night, tackling the superb young technician Dean Malenko in an impressive outing, overpowering the tag specialist before putting him away with a Rude Awakening.</div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> Is there a better big man wrestler in the world than Big Van Vader? We’ve been speaking to our sources, and they suggest that Harley Race has found the crown jewel for his ‘kingdom’. And any man who can put the Ultimate Warrior out of action as Vader did is someone to be feared!</div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> Marcus Bagwell is still smarting from being attacked by the Dangerous Alliance last week, and no wonder! He promised he’d learn his lesson, and come back stronger – but he still seemed a little gunshy against Terence Taylor of the York Foundation. Taylor, of course, has all the benefit of York’s computations and was able to pick up the duke in just over eight minutes with a Piledriver on the young star.</div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> Ric Flair and the Thrillseekers have been celebrating their recent title win – as have the Young Pistols! The two sides compared title belts and party stories backstage, but Flair wasn’t laughing later as he and Michael Hayes once again had to put up with the mockery of the Diamond Exchange after Shawn Michaels had taken down Chris Jericho – albeit with help from DDP!</div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> Hayes had been explaining to Flair why he had wanted a Texas Bull Rope match when he challenged Bret Hart for the WCW Television title; He had a lot of experience, fighting Texas style! In the match, Hayes gave his all against Hart and at times seemed on the verge of winning. Hart wasn’t in his element, but by careful focus on Hayes’ legs he was able to wear the Freebird down and leave him lying as he touched all four corners – at the cost of a lot of welts on his back from being whipped with the rope!</div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> In a rarity here in WCW, we got to see a genuine WWF superstar in Tito Santana as he paired up with young competitor Jerry Lynn to take a shot at the NWA Tag Team titles. Reigning champions Steve Austin and Arn Anderson had enough to hold off the combination of experience and youth, however, as Anderson drilled Lynn with a DDT for the successful defence.</div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div></div> <div style="text-align:center;"><p></p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>Show rating: B+</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p></div><p></p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><p></p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="3DcoZDk.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/3DcoZDk.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p></div><p></p><p> </p><p> <em>OOC: After the umpteenth time that Ricky Steamboat passed on advice to Steve Armstrong and Marcus Bagwell (it must be around 15 times now) I tried meddling in Armstrong and Bagwell’s relationship; Result – strong friendship. Week 2, August 1997

Sturgis Motorcycle Rally (Sturgis, South Dakota)

ATT: 6,700 unpaid bikers

PPV BUY: 1.66

Announce Team: Tony Schiavone, Mike Tenay and Bobby “The Brain” Heenan

Rev those engines folks, because we're coming to you live from the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in Sturgis, South Dakota, where 6700 drunk and surly bikers have flocked to witness this (free) spectacle from World Championship Wrestling.....we open at the announce desk, where Tony Schiavone, Mike Tenay and Bobby "The Brain" Heenan greet us (dressed like rejects from the Village People) and run down the nights proceedings, focusing on the "will he, or won't he" mystery surrounding the condition of the Warrior, and whether the man will actually be here to compete this evening....because if not, Heenan says that Sting can kiss his chances of earning a title shot against Hogan, next month or any other month......

.....meanwhile the rest of the Titans will be in competition too....and looking to prove their worth to what is no doubt a p!ssed off Vince Russo following the blockbuster announcement from Eric Bischoff this past Monday night.....with Jean Paul Levesque looking to show his worth (following a few recent failures on behalf of the Titan's youngest member) against Chris Benoit......Ray Traylor will have his hands full with WCW's newest roster member Curt Hennig.....and last but not least, the most under pressure members of the Titans, Knobbs and Saggs, the Nasty Boys.....who have been told in no uncertain terms that they need to bring those Tag Team Titles home tonight, when they face Champions, the Road Warriors......

......the announce team wrap up their intro, before the thousands of engines rev to life, because our first match is about to start......

Rating: N/A

Curt Hennig made his WCW debut just six days ago on Monday Nitro, and in less than a week he has competed for the World Championship, defeated Hollywood Hogan, competed on Nitro and is now about to compete in his first Pay Per View outing......not a bad first week on the job.....in fact, you COULD say it's the Perfect start to Mr. Hennig's WCW career.......now all he has to do is actually WIN his first Pay Per View outing......

......of course, that's going to be easier said than done.....after all, his opponent tonight is the Enforcer for the Titans of Wrestling, Ray Traylor....and you've got to believe that if Traylor is able to bring the scalp of Curt Hennig back to Vince Russo, his place within the Titans would be pretty much secured, especially when it was Hennig (along with Bischoff) that embarrassed Russo on Nitro to begin with......

......Heenan eludes to his past history with Hennig, stating that not only has he managed this man to Championships, he's also managed this man AGAINST Traylor, and if anyone knows how to defeat the Enforcer, it's Curt.....before stating however that this is a much different Ray Traylor.....meaner....colder.....more calculating.....and much, much more dangerous.....Traylor shows that here too, and Hennig sells like a superstar as always. He may be more well known for his heel work, but Hennig is really coming into his own as a fan favourite as of late, and plays the babyface in peril role to (pardon the pun) perfection....

.....if you're wanting to build up a strong heel stable however, you need strong baby faces to face them....and Hennig proves that he's more than just a selling machine as he fights his way back into this one, before finally finishing the man off with the Hennig Plex.......Mr. Russo will NOT be pleased with the Titans night so far, and we're only one match in.

Winner: Curt Hennig

Rating: B

Hennig is clearly delighted with his victory, and he’s joined in the ring by Mean Gene (complete with leather bikers hat......there’s a disturbing image if ever you saw one) who congratulates him on win, before officially welcoming him to WCW......

.....Hennig says that it’s good to be here.....a company rich with tradition, it’s a company about WRESTLING.....not crotch chops, not middle fingers......not grown men telling other grown men to “suck it”......it’s a place for WRESTLERS, and he couldn’t think of a more.....perfect place for him to be.....which is EXACTLY why he signed the contract provided to him by Eric Bischoff.....he’s not here to be some pawn in the Titans if Wrestling, he’s here to win Championships.....and he WOULD have been standing here right now with the WCW Title around his waist, had it not been for the interference of Vince Russo......Hennig says that he’s man enough to admit that Hogan and his gang of cronies really gave him a going over in Nitro......but tonight, this victory over Ray Traylor.....was just the first step.....he’s going to run through the Titans of Wrestling one by one, until he FINALLY gets another shot at Hollywood Hogan and the WCW Championship......and this time, nothing is going to stop him from bringing home the gold.

It’s time for our first title match of the evening, and time to find out “will he, or won’t he”.......that being whether or not our reigning Television Champion would keep to his word, and leave Earl Robert and The Duke in the back in this title defence against Rick Martel.......and to his credit, he did just that......this was a straight one on one contest.....no outside interference at all......

.......of course, that’s not to say that his Lordship didn’t bend the rules at times.....he may act the gentleman but he’s still a scoundrel at heart after all.....this was a really solid match too, with both men utilising a mat based offence as each tried to wear the other down for their respective submission holds.......in the end however, it was Martel that was able to lock on the Boston Crab......and as the bell rings, the engines roar in approval for our new Television Champion.......

......except we don’t have a new Television Champion......what we do have however, is a time limit draw......the ten minute time limit being the very backbone of which the Television Championship was built on to begin with......and as Martel pleads for five more minutes, Regal grabs his title and leaves, telling Martel that ”you had your shot sunshine......two shots actually....you shan’t get another” before heading to the back.....leaving Martel frustrated in the ring.....

.......and his frustrations are only going to grow, as he is suddenly attacked from behind as Lance Storm of all people comes running down the aisle out of nowhere, and nails Martel right in the back of the head with a stiff forearm shot that knocks the veteran down......

......Storm has had the Jeff Hardy treatment here, skyrocketing from the Lower to the Upper Midcard simply by jumping ship......and Tony Schiavone is in shock by what he’s seeing (naturally) stating that WCW is clearly the place to be, and can’t miss programming....because you never know WHO’S going to show up....and as Martel stumbles to his feet, he’s knocked straight back down again by a big Lance Storm Superkick.....

.....Storm stands over the fallen Martel with a look of utter destain on his face, before adding insult to injury, when he apply’s his OWN Boston Crab variation, the single legged version, the Canadian Maple Leaf on his (also) Canadian victim, and as the officials do their best to drag Lance Storm off a screaming Rick Martel, we air a commercial for our next up coming event, WCW Fall Brawl.

We go backstage from there, where Mean Gene spends a few minutes shilling the Hotline (1-900-909-9900) saying that Jeff Hardy and Lance Storm were just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to new arrivals here.....he says that WCW is where the big boys play, and there are quite a few big names that want to make their way over to World Championship Wrestling.....call the Hotline right now, and choose option 1 for all the backstage gossip......before introducing his guest, Diamond Dallas Page, along with the beautiful Kimberly.....

......he says that up next, Page is going to be facing a man who’s been causing him quite a few problems as of late.....as well as clearly having one eye on the gorgeous Kimberly.....and that man is Buff Bagwell, who incidentally has made no secret of his desire to join forces with Hogan, Russo, and the Titans of Wrestling.....Page rolls his eyes at that, saying when you’ve got an ego the size of Buff Bagwell, then of course you’re gonna want to hang with Hollywood “Scum” Hogan.....

”.......of course he wants to slither his way to the top like the snake he is, but me, DDP......I’m gonna get to the top the old fashioned way.....I’m gonna earn it......I’m gonna take little Buffy out, and if he so much as LOOKS at Kimberly the wrong way then I’ll.....”

......Kim puts a hand on her husbands arm there, stopping him in mid sentence.....she tells him not to worry, because if he so much as breathes on her, she’ll slap the taste right out of his mouth......”because ‘Buff’ doesn’t have the ‘Stuff’ to deal with a real woman like me”......

......Page smiles at that, telling Gene that’s why he married her, he needs a feisty woman to keep him on his toes.......where as tonight, Buff Bagwell is going to be knocked off his feet, when Page drives him into the mat with the Diamond Cutter.....

”.......and then when I’m done with the Teenybopper Titan, it’s gonna be onto the real deal......Hogan, I already beat your “General”.....I’ll mow through every last one of your little stooges until I get to you......because like it or not, you will feel the BANG!.....”

“.......you’re gonna have to get in line Dallas.....because there’s a whole lot of people wanting to get their hands on Hollywood Hogan and the Titans of Wrestling.......”

ZCmEKxR.jpgjFDS7jG.jpg

.......apparently Page isn’t the only one with his sights set on Hollywood......as Lex Luger and the hulking sight that is The Giant come walking into frame.....Luger pats DDP on the back, wishing him well in his match next, before Gene turns his attention to the new arrivals, stating that with all due respect, the two men have somewhat bigger problems tonight......in fact, four very big problems in the form of Vader, Bam Bam Bigelow, Mike Awesome and Gideon Cain......four of the biggest men in this company, in a battle to prove who the biggest giant in WCW is......

......Luger shakes his head, saying that first of all, this isn’t his fight.....he’s no giant, never has been, never claimed to be.....he’s just here to back up his good friend......Vader, Bigelow.....Missy Hyatt’s two playthings, none of that matters in the long run......what matters to Luger, is getting his hands on the Titans of Wrestling, and that’s exactly what he’s going to do.....

”.......and second of all, there’s only one true ‘Giant’ in WCW.....and he’s stood right next to me.......”

......Gene turns the microphone to that one true Giant now, who says that tonight is finally the night that he gets his big hands on that wannabe big man Mike Awesome and his new little running buddy Gideon Cain.....he says it’s been a long time coming, but tonight, he’s gonna drive both men through the mat with a Chokeslam each......as for Vader and Bigelow, they’re just collateral damage that SHOULD have stayed out of the Giant’s business......

.....with that Luger and The Giant head off to prepare for their match, before Gene begins to sign off back to the commentary at ringside.....before stopping abruptly and calling an unseen passer by over.......

nPbgAHd.jpg

.....Lance Storm.......who Gene asks first of all what he’s doing in WCW......and secondly, why he attacked Rick Martel?.....

”......why WCW? I’d have thought that was pretty obvious Gene......in fact, I heard Curt Hennig give the exact same answer earlier......because WCW has always been the home of Wrestling.....and Lance Storm is the BEST wrestler on the planet....much better than Curt Hennig......and why wouldn’t I be? After all, I come from Calgary......Alberta, Canada......and I’m going to come to into World Championship Wrestling week in and week out, and wrestle circles around anyone dumb enough to step in the ring with me......”

......Gene again asks why the attack on Martel, a fellow Canadian who likes to utilise the Boston Crab, if anything Storm should be a supporter of Martel.....Storm disagrees, saying Martel may have been great.....ONCE.....but his day has gone, and every minute he try’s to stay relevant he’s embarrassing the whole country of Canada.....so Storm is going to take him out of the sport, once and for all.

It’s back down to ringside now, and it’s time for Diamond Dallas Page to face off against Titan in Training, Buff Bagwell.....Page already has one victory in the bag against Bagwell, while the only win between the two men that Buff can claim, is the Tag Team victory picked up on Nitro, and even then it was his partner for the evening, Jean Pail Levesque that picked up the pinfall.....

.....Buff may have his Titan Training Wheels on, but Mr. Russo has obviously decided that young Bagwell needs to prove his worth solo tonight, because while Page has Kimberly at ringside, Buff is all alone....although the fact that Kim is out there is music too Bagwell’s ears.....and eyes, as he openly ogles the beautiful young woman (between flexing his pecs at her) although true to her word, the moment Bagwell struts and shimmy’s a little too close, he gets a stinging open handed slap for his troubles.....

.....these two couldn’t be more polar opposite when it comes to an in ring perspective.....Buff the cocky and arrogant upstart, willing to do anything (and align himself with anyone) to get to the top, while DDP is your hard working common man, looking to EARN his way to the top of the mountain.....although interestingly enough, despite their age difference (with Bagwell a sprightly 27 to Page’s rather advanced 41) they have virtually the same number of years worth of experience (in fact in terms of IN-ring work, Bagwell is actually the veteran of the two) and the two men even arrived in WCW around the same time as well, back in 1991.....

.....but anyway, I’m rambling there, back to the match......and it was a pretty decent match up too, and wide open to when it comes to offence, with Bagwell splitting his time between punishing Page and flexing for Kimberly. In the end though Bagwell could have maybe used a little bit of help from the Titans, because much like their last singles encounter, Dallas is able to finish the man off with a Diamond Cutter right in the middle of the ring.....and if his pre match interview is anything to go by, he’s got the Titans of Wrestling in his sights next.

Triangle Match

It’s time for our huge Triangle Tag Team Match now, and as Bobby Heenan remarks, hopefully they have reinforced the ring for this one, because there’s going to be a lot of beef in there.....Mike Awesome has been making quite the name for himself as of late here in WCW, and after declaring himself the “best big man in the business” he went out of his way to hone in on the biggest of the big.....Bam Bam Bigelow, Vader.....and finally the Giant......and in the process, ticked all three men off enough that they actually wound up fighting amongst themselves for the chance to fight against him......

......with three behemoths like that after him it was only natural that Awesome should seek out some back up......enter Gideon Cain....the 6’5” 285lb mountain of muscle from Hell’s Kitchen, New York.....who along with Missy Hyatt, quickly aligned himself with the man, the myth, the mullet, Mike Awesome, and the two had an impressive showing in their first match as partners, easily defeating the Soul Train and showing some excellent chemistry along the way.....

.......so with Awesome and Cain aligned, and Bammers and Vader regularly teaming up, that left the Giant as the man alone.....fortunately he had back up too....not from a man that had any issues with Awesome and Cain, but from his friend.....Lex Luger has the Titans of Wrestling in his sights, but he’s put all that to one side tonight to watch the Giants back.....because the sooner the big man is done with this whole battle of the giants, the sooner Luger can concentrate on capturing that WCW Championship from Hollywood Hogan.....

......it’s triangle rules here, one man from each team in the ring, one man from each team on the outside, anyone can tag anyone and it’s one fall to a finish.....and as Tenay points out (being the Professor that he is) this is a huge test for the pairing of Awesome and Cain, because all four of their opponents (yes even Bam Bam Bigelow, thanks for that Bischoff) is a former WCW Champion, not that Missy’s men let that intimidate them for a second, Awesome even makes sure to start this match (along with Vader and The Giant) and doesn’t back down an inch......the match itself is pretty good, no doubt helped by the fact that both Luger and the Giant are super over, and while Vader and Bam Bam aren’t quite at their level, they certainly aren’t far off......add in to that Awesome and Cains excellent chemistry as a team and Missy doing some good work on the outside, and you have a pretty good combination.....

......all four men get their chance to shine in this one, with Luger in particular impressing, getting not only Mike Awesome up in the Torture Rack, but Bam Bam Bigelow too, although both times the hold was broken up before Luger could pick up a submission victory.......and speaking of Luger.......

4gulGr7.jpg3t5Mcpd.jpgbtMTTG9.jpg

......the Titans of Wrestling obviously heard Lugers earlier promo with Mean Gene, and have decided to make a pre-emptive strike on the man who claims to be gunning for them AND the WCW Championship.....which is why the Enforcer comes running down the aisle, and with the rules in these multi-Man matches a little more relaxed, he drags Luger to the outside and nails him in the ribs with his nightstick, before dragging the man up the aisle.......the Giant abandons the match to give chase but the Nasty Boys cut him off, and soon the three men brawl their way to the back and out of the match.....

......and the ensuing distraction is enough for Cain to sent Vader flying off the apron with a running big boot, leaving Bam Bam all alone to eat the Assisted Powerbomb from the two men, giving Awesome and Cain a huge win here tonight.

From there the camera feed cuts to the back, where Luger and the Giant are still under siege from the three Titans.....the Giant briefly manages to fend off the Nasty’s, but gets nailed in the back of the leg by Traylor and his nightstick, and between them the Titan Trio begin to systematically beat down their two victims.......

hb2tHFX.jpgQ8vqWO6.jpg

......at least until the Road Warriors come rushing into shot, dragging Knobbs and Saggs off Luger and the Giant and proceeding to give them a good old fashioned backstage beating......Luger and the Giant quickly regain their composure, and run the Enforcer off, leaving Hawk and Animal to batter the Nasty’s all the way to the entrance way, through the curtain......and back down the aisle towards the ring, as the bikers Rev their engines in approval.....looks like our WCW Tag Team Title Match is going to be next......

......mainly because Knobbs is still selling that shot from the motorcycle helmet, leaving Saggs in the unenviable position of having to face both Hawk and Animal pretty much single handedly, which realistically was never going to end well......and it didn’t.....one Doomsday Device later and the Road Warriors retain the Titles.....and while the action may have gone for a little over 14 minutes with the pre-match brawl, the official match time clocked in at a mere 4:36......Vince Russo will NOT be happy with that.

We air a brief recap video on the arrival of Jeff Hardy to WCW, answering Eddie Guerrero’s open challenge as the masked Willow, gaining this Championship opportunity here tonight in the process....Tony Schiavone in particular is high on praise for the challenger, stating that with youngster like Jeff Hardy (and now Lance Storm) and up and comers like Mike Awesome and Gideon Cain climbing the ranks and rubbing shoulders with established stars like Lex Luger, you are witnessing the next generation of WCW superstar evolve before our very eyes......

......oh and spoiler alert, this is a fantastic match.....probably the second best match on the card, which I have say surprised me a lot.....not because these two aren't super talented, because they are.....I just wasn't expecting the reaction that it got.....Heenan says that Eddie Guerrero is a great wrestler, but he’s finding out first hand what Bobby figured out years ago.....and that is that when you’re good at something, never do it for free.....and when you have something everyone else wants, never give them a chance to take it......fortunately he believes that Eddie Guerrero is more than man enough to defeat “the Hardy kid” tonight........

.......”the Hardy kid” as Heenan calls him is going to be no pushover however....after all, he’s already beaten Guerrero once before....and keen to earn his stripes here in WCW Hardy goes all out at the open of this match, throwing caution to the ring in his efforts to continue his winning ways and capture the US title.....unfortunately it’s that devil may cry attitude that costs him the advantage, as he crashes and burns on a Whisper in the Wind attempt, and from there Eddie goes on the attack......

....Guerrero often finds himself the smaller man in the match here where the “big boy’s” compete, but he’s able to utilise his strength advantage here punishing young Jeff to the point that he begins to get a little swagger in his step as his confidence rises, telling the crowd that last Monday was just a fluke.....he signals to the crowd that he has this all wrapped up, then slams Hardy to the mat and heads up to the top rope......Guerrero spends too long showboating however, and Hardy is far from done, rising to his knees and throwing himself at the ropes, causing Eddie to lose his footing and crotch himself up top.....Hardy then climbs up to join him....and delivers a massive Super-Plex that drives both men to the mat with a crash......

......the official reaches a count of nine before the two men struggle to their feet, Guerrero tries for a series of right hands, but Hardy blocks each one and counters with a shot of his own......he whips Guerrero into the corner and goes for a one man Poetry in Motion, but Eddie drags the official in front of himself and Hardy crushes the referee.....

......with no referee in sight Eddie quickly rolls to the outside and picks up a steel chair, before returning to the ring and charging at Hardy.....who meets him with a kick to the gut.....and a Twist if Fate......before heading up to the top looking for the Swanton Bomb.....he let’s fly, but Guerrero rolls out of the way at the last second and Jeff crashes into the steel chair that is laying on the mat......Eddie picks up the chair and nails the Challenger right in the skull, before tossing the weapon to the outside and heading up top to deliver the Frog Splash, just as the official comes around to count the one, the two.....and the three.

”......you had to cheat just a little bit there didn’t you, but this is WCW, and the referees decisions are final after all......”

......Eddie just smirks at that, slapping a hand on his Championship, telling Bischoff that’s right, so why doesn’t he and the rest of the Championship Committee concentrate in lining opponent up for him, and he’ll keep doing what he does best, what his family has done best for generations......winning however it takes......

......Bischoff keeps that smile plastered on his face, telling Eddie that he DOES actually have his next Challenger already lined up.....

”......and it’s funny you should mention Wrestling families......because this man’s family has quite the heritage of his own.....and he just so happens to be the NEWEST addition to the WCW roster.......”

It’s now time for probably the least anticipated match on the card, as the Renegade faces off against masked newcomer Mortis, with his manager James Vandenberg at ringside....Mortis seemingly attacked The Renegade with no provocation whatsoever, with the only real explanation offered by Vandenberg being that he was a man seeking purity and perfection.......and the Renegade is nothing more than a second rate attempt to recapture the essence of another (with that “other” presumably being the Ultimate Warrior) with Vandenberg going so far as to physically wipe away that yellow and red face paint that adorns the Renegades face on Nitro.....

......this match wasn't great, nor was it expected to be, but it did what I wanted it to do.....which was put on a decent enough undercard performance, and give Mortis a decent win in his debut match.....Renegade got enough offence in as to not look like a complete jobber, but in the end it was the masked man's Flatliner that sealed the deal, giving Mortis the one, the two and the three.

From there it's back to Mean Gene, who's standing by with a less than happy looking Sting....he says tonight, the Stinger is putting it all on the line....defeat Hollywood Hogan, and at Fall Brawl Sting will be competing for the WCW Championship......however, should Hogan defeat Sting, then Sting will not be granted ANY shots at that WCW Title, for as long as Hogan holds the belt.....but just to complicate matters, this is a tag team match......Sting has got to face the Mega Powers of Professional Wrestling......and his partner doesn't appear to be anywhere in sight......

"......Sting, the question on everybody's lips is.......where is The Warrior?...."

.......Sting says that he doesn't know.....he says the last time he saw the Warrior was two weeks ago on Nitro, face first on the floor in the back and covered in spray paint.......

"......but it's fine Gene, you know why? Because I knew I shouldn't have counted on the Warrior to begin with.....I knew I should have fought this fight against the Titans alone.....but he just went on, and on, and on, and on......but you know what, I don't need the Warrior.....I don't need ANYONE......and if I have to defeat Hogan and Savage by myself, then that's exactly what I'm going to do......"

It's time for our semi main event of the evening, and it's Chris Benoit facing off against an under pressure Jean Paul Levesque......doubly under pressure because tonight has not been a good night thus far for the Titans of Wrestling......and in all honesty, this match was a bit of a let down.....Benoit and Levesque did not click at all, and not only did it make for an awkward match, but it effected both men's performance too.....in fact, had I known how good our US Title match was going to be, I'd have probably switched these two bouts around.....it's a shame as well, because realistically one day this could have been a match for the WCW Championship.....but based on this display we will have to keep these two men far apart from each other where one on one action is concerned.....

.......and it was, the match was supposed to showcase Chris Benoit as a serious threat....a man just one win away from a main event spot.....which is why the Crippler put on such a strong display here, and he really did look like he deserved to be sharing the ring with a true main event player in Levesque, even managing to lock on the Crippler Crossface......fortunately for Levesque, Ray Taylor came running down the aisle and out of the sight of the official, dragged Levesque to safety so that his foot was under the bottom rope, before promptly pointing that fact out to the referee, forcing the break.....Benoit found himself arguing with Traylor.....which was all the opening Levesque needed to hit the Pedigree and pick up the win.

We air a promo package for Fall Brawl, and then it's straight to the back, where Mean Gene is with the Titans of Wrestling.....he tells Russo that after the Mega Powers brutal attack of the Warrior two weeks ago on Nitro....and the Warriors subsequent no show tonight, surely Sting should be afforded the opportunity to name a replacement partner?

Russo just laughs at that, telling Gene that if Sting's partner isn't here tonight, then too bad for Sting.....maybe he shouldn't go around handing out cheques that his ass can't cash.....and if the Warrior isn't here tonight......well then it looks like we're gonna be having a handicap match Gene......"Isn't that right Hollywood?.....

".......Well you know something Mean Gene.....Hollywood Hogan has always known deep down in his heart of hearts, that the Warrior was nothing more than a yellow bellied coward dude.....see he knew that if he came out here tonight, the Mega Powers of Professional Wrestling, The Macho Man Randy Savage and Hollywood Hogan, we would embarrass and humiliate him and send him running back to parts unknown like the scalded dog he is.....he doesn't want ANY part of the Titans of Wrestling brother......isn't that right Mach....."

".....oh yeah, the Warrior, Warrior, Warrior.....not as stupid as he looks Gene, yeah......not as stupid as the Sting Man if he thinks he has any chance tonight.....he can kiss the match goodbye.....and he can kiss the WCW Title goodbye.....because he ain't getting a shot again, uh-uh, not happening.....never again....dig it?....."

If Sting pins Hogan, he gets a WCW Title shot next month.....if Hogan pins Sting, Sting won't be granted a WCW Title shot as long as Hogan is Champion

So this has gone from a standard tag team encounter, to a tag team encounter with World Title ramifications, to a two on one handicap match in the space a few weeks....Schiavone talks about the Titans of Wrestling stacking the deck here against Sting, before expressing their disbelief at the Warrior no showing this event, after lobbying so hard for Sting to join him in this fight.....

.....to his credit, Sting is here, baseball bat in hand.....and he's more than willing to go it alone against arguably two of the biggest names in all of professional wrestling, just to earn a shot at Hollywood Hogan and the WCW Championship......as for Hogan, he's yet to truly deliver a great match since Russo's arrival.....the same can't be said for Savage and Sting however, with both being involved in at least one great match.....and thankfully, they drag Hogan UP to their level tonight, because this really was a great match by WCW's recent standards.....

.....the Stinger starts out strong, taking care of both Hogan AND Savage like they were a pair of 1992 Saturday Night jobbers, not a pair of honest to goodness Icons....until the Mega Powers formulate the strategy of keeping Hollywood on the apron and Savage the legal man....after all, if Sting defeats Savage he doesn't get the Championship opportunity next month....he has to beat Hogan to earn that.....and you can see the frustration on the painted face of Sting, who finally hits Savage with a crushing Stinger Splash that leaves Macho staggering out of the corner, where Sting launches him at Hogan.....and as the two men collide, the referee announces that as far as he is concerned, that constitutes a tag.....

....Hogan looks to tag out immediately, but Savage is down on the outside, and as he pulls himself up onto the apron Sting grabs Hollywood by the Skullet and drags him over to the neutral corner, and begins unloading on him with right after right....he whips Hogan across the ring, hard into the opposite neutral corner, delivering another Stinger Splash.....before sending him back to the original corner, going for the splash once more.....this time however Savage drags Hollywood out of harms way at the last second, and Sting hits nothing but turnbuckle....

......from there the Mega Powers go to work....after all, one man can only go against two for so long until the numbers game overwhelms him....and now with Sting down, Hollywood is more than happy to remain in the fight....he and Savage make the most of having a partner, with frequent tags ensuring that the fresh man is always in the ring....and Sting really looks to be all but done here......and as Savage goes to the top rope, Hogan holds Stings arms behind his back, leaving him wide open for the Double Ax-handle......Sting warned however that he was willing to think outside the box here, and he kicks his leg back with a Ric Flair inspired low blow, dropping out of Savages line of sight in the nick of time......and it's Hollywood that eats the Ax-handle, before Sting clotheslines the Macho Man over the top rope, dropping to the mat in exhaustion......

......and The Warrior comes bursting out of the back like a mad man and charging down the aisle and up onto the apron, where he shakes the ropes like a man possessed, crying out for Sting to make the tag......the weary Stinger drags his way over to his corner and pulls himself to his feet, before locking eyes with the Warrior and extending his hand for a much needed breather........

.......which is when the Warrior smirks and drops off the apron......leaving Sting hanging like a fool with a look of....not shock.....more like disappointment on his face......at least until Hogan ploughs into him from behind with a hard clothesline......

.....then the Warrior rolls into the ring, where he proceeds to stomp the paint off his supposed partners face, finally dragging him to his feet.....raising him up over his head.....and dropping him with the Gorilla Press.......Savage instantly comes flying off the top with that patented elbow drop......leaving just Hollywood to drop the leg brother......and as he covers Sting, the result is a foregone conclusion......a one, a two and a three.....and Sting will NOT be granted an opportunity to face Hollywood Hogan for the WCW Title any time soon.

Poor Sting......betrayed again, and after pledging to never trust a soul again.....and as the rest of the Titans come rushing out from the back to congratulate the Mega Powers, the Warrior proceeds to put the boots to the Stinger once more.....not that it's needed, Sting is DONE.....Hogan rolls Sting onto his front as Traylor hands him the now faliliar can of spray paint......but as Hogan bends over to tag the Stinger, Warrior snatches the can from him.....telling him that HE wants to do it.....and as the show comes to a close, and the crowd voice their displeasure, the Warrior drops down to one knee.......leaving three black letters across the back of the Stinger......T.o.W......goodnight fans.

"Bro, it's like a fricking free for all around here"

"What do you expect? You've got some of the biggest ego's all under one roof.....it's like ego's R us.....and you thought Shawn was bad"

"I gotta tell ya bro, Shawn Michaels is like a fricking saint compared to this bunch here....you'd think Hogan would be happy....he's got the strap, he's already turned half the locker room on Savage.....but no, now he's got half the boys crying out for the Giants blood too.....the mans unstoppable"

"The Giant's a big boy Vince.....a very big boy.....I'm sure he can look out for himself"

"The Giant's a big baby bro.....you know how much of a sh!t storm he kicked up over the finish of that tag match? I had to keep his seven foot ass strong.....protect the motherf###er......and he was STILL furious about the finish.......and HE wasn't even the one that got beat.....Bigelow took the fall......and did you know Luger had creative control? He had creative control, was the most over guy in the match..... and even HE didn't complain about the finish, just that big seven foot baby......complaining that Gideon Cain wasn't anywhere near his level and just a punk kid fresh out of the Power Plant"

"Wasn't HE a young kid fresh out of the Power Plant himself a couple of years ago?"

"Seriously bro, you don't have to tell me.....and it's not just me that thinks the kids gonna be a star either, Bobby Eaton is working with him, he's been going over tips on selling and psychology all week.......the Giant's just being a b!tch"

"What can I tell you, he's a legit giant, giants don't tend to lose very often...look at Andrè, didn't they try and convince us he was undefeated for fifteen years? Although if he's too much of a headache for you, I'm sure Vince would love to have him here......"

"No, no, no.....don't even think about it bro.....I got a cheque book here big enough to keep hold of even the biggest b!tch n the world.....why do you think we managed to signed half your roster?"

"Because you can't create any stars of your own?"

"Ha-ha real funny"

"I'm just saying Vince, sometimes all the money in the world won't get a guy to jump ship.....do you see Sting jumping to us? Or Taker to you? Never gonna happen......for some guys it's not about the money......and I'm sure there are a few of your guys that would take a pay cut to come and work for the number one Wrestling company in the world.....don't worry though, I'm not in the market for any new talent right now......anyway, cheer up......you've just produced a successful Pay Per View.....and not only that, you've got two of the biggest babyfaces in wrestling, working as two of the biggest heels.....Hulk Hogan and The Ultimate Warrior......"

"I just hope Warrior doesn't crash and burn as a heel.....it's not exactly his strongest suit"

"Vince I met the Warrior a couple of years ago....just before he signed for you guys I was trying to convince him to come back here.....and do you know what I took away from those negotiations?"

".....a headache?...."

"Well yeah that too.....but the biggest thing I took away from those negotiations, is that the Warrior is a real a$$hole.....just let his real personality shine through and he'll be fine.....there's just a few things you need to tweak now he's a heel............"
