Couldn't convince Shaq to stay in Miami, unfortunately. For some reason, I didn't have his bird rights and Los Angeles was offering more money and years than I was willing to pay for him considering his age. Our next move will be to find a center, preferably young, who will help with our defense. It'll be hard, as after re-signing KG, the Heat are over the cap and I don't have a MLE to work with.

Not an ideal trade, but we desperately needed a backup point guard and there weren't any decent ones left in free agency.

A ton of close losses mixed in there, so I feel like our team is much better than its record but we need more consistent play from our bench and Kevin Garnett needs to step it up. He is the clear second option this year, but his stats have dropped across the board- I don't plan on making any moves, but we are going to need to step it up to get a decent playoff seed, or to even make the playoffs entirely. As it stands right now, we are currently the 10th seed but just a few wins could push us to the 6th seed in the East where we could potentially face Detroit, the team we defeated in the playoffs last year.

Durant is the clear front runner to win Rookie of the Year, as he is one of the top scorers in the NBA and is doing so very efficiently as he is shooting over 54% from the field. These are not empty stats, as his Knicks are the 5th seed in the conference, a massive turnaround from the previous season.

http://thesportsquotient.com/media/posts/25774/6204124.jpg

In a season full of trades, none was more exciting nor unexpected than the one that unfolded just days before the deadline. It was a blockbuster trade: Dwight Howard and Andre Iguodala, two budding young stars from the same draft class were traded for another straight up. Howard, averaging over 20 points and 12 rebounds per game along with tremendous defense is one of the best players at his position, and at just 22 years of age, is sure to improve as he grows. Iguodala, averaging just over 22 points per game is a swiss army knife, as he has the potential to excel in every way on the floor. He is one of the top forward defenders and is an underrated passer at his position. Both of the teams were top 5 seeds in the Eastern Conference, so it was a strange time for such a blockbuster trade. However, both teams are able to bring deserving starters off of their bench to replace the loss of their stars: sharpshooter Kyle Korver will start in place of Iguodala, and defensive star Marcus Camby will replace Dwight Howard in his key role.

At least we might be able to get a few more losses and slide into the top 10 of the lottery <img alt=":(" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/frown.png.e6b571745a30fe6a6f2e918994141a47.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> Hopefully Wade will return as strong as ever next season.

Solid seasons by JJ and Darko, definitely going to try and bring them back next year. We'll have a lot of cap space with Eddie Jones and Alonzo coming off of the books, so we can make further improvements to our bench and try to contend next year. Fortunately, we do have our picks this year, and I plan to try and trade up in the draft. If not, I have my eye on a few centers that we could take with our projected 12th pick.

Fully healthy, the San Antonio Spurs somehow managed to blow a 3-1 lead to Pau's Grizzlies which is obviously a crushing blow to the team and may affect Manu Ginobili's status with the team as he will enter free agency this summer and likely search for a max contract. This wasn't the only upset, however, as star point guard Deron Williams was injured during game 4 vs Denver, but the team managed to beat the Nuggets in 6 games. They continued to press on,

defeating the Mavericks, and then the Warriors to get all the way to the NBA finals while missing their best player. Their hot streak of victories would end as the Pistons were able to close out the underdogs in five games, many of which were very closely contested. In the end, Chauncey Billups led the Pistons to another championship, winning his second Finals MVP.

Gasol was the guy I wanted at #6; was the perfect guy next to KG and Wade was projected to be top 5 but I thought he was gonna drop. Surprised I was able to get Rose so far down, but I had to debate between him and DJ as to who to pick :/ Hopefully he develops into the MVP that he was in real life, but he will definitely be the starting PG next season
