What is the Dumbest Booking Decision You have EVER made.

Recommended Posts

I will start

I was playing a WWE run in 2007. It was going amazing. I had this huge feud featuring Edge and Benoit. Benoit won the World heavyweight belt around early June. Well guess what, it turns out Chris sort of DIES in June of 2007 which I of course forgot. I made this huge plan for Chris, and I felt so dumb after wards. I put the belt on a dude that would die in a few weeks, can you top that idiocy?

I'm confused... People can't be set to die at a given date. So that means you killed him off by choice. So... that dumb decision is all on you.

I've always thought it was morbid to kill someone off when they died in real life... So I never do it.

Universes can have built-in narratives set to happen. I don't think you can literally have it make someone die, but you can reduce all their physical attributes to 0% and induce a rapid retirement. Additionally, you can write the news feed story however you like, which probably mentioned Benoit dying and is what confused the OP.

I was playing a Raising Storms 1991 save when I got the good idea to build Yokozuna up as a monster heel and have him when the Royal Rumble in 1992. The problem being that I failed to build him up enough before the match, so when he won I had about 20 guys more over then him that were all furious with the booking of the finish. I ended up spending about 1 million dollars on bonuses to get everybody happy again.

I don't normally make too many mistakes. Though I did hire Texas Pete with Ricky Dale Johnson and others to create a modern cowboy stable. Texas Pete has injured Haruki Kudo, Pablo Rodriguez, Jim Force, and Enygma within a month. The injuries were just minor ones I think Pablo was out for 2 weeks but either way it took me an entire month to realize this goon was destroying my locker with his behavior. Hes now in rehab but I don't even know if I want the dweeb.

I've made some minor ones. In my recent game I basically built up Chris Jericho to be my number one heel. I made him winning the world title and betraying the WWF the kickoff of the invasion angle and gave him an impressive run with the world title. I was repaid by him running off to tour with Fozzy. This forced me to switch the title to somebody else. The invasion angle kind of died with a whimper when other problems arose.

After his return I again positioned him to take the top spot and be my replacement for the Rock as my number one face. He went into a huge feud with Triple H and Evolution and won the world title. Then part way into it he announced another Fozzy tour.

Now I'm waiting for him to come back. I can't say I won't make the same mistake again though. That guy sure loves his band.

I'm glad the game doesn't have the feature because I'd be bummed to see workers go in a game when all I want to do is have fun. I don't want a reminder that we lost those guys. Let me use them and pretend for a little bit of time like they are still here with us.

Finally reached my first anniversary running a Small start up fed using RW data. Was all set for the first meeting of champion Jonathan Gresham & Alex Shelley. Both good workers with Major Positive momentum. The match should have been the best in company history.

Then I stupidly decided to ask them to try for an Epic....the end result was a very disappointing match and what I expected to be my highest rated show ever ending up second lowest rated, only behind the debut show.

Thinking I may book a rematch down the line to see if they perform better without the pressure, or if I just had way too high of expectations.

It sounds like you ran a match that was too short for that match aim. If you run something that is "Epic" it has to go over 16 minutes (at a minimum) but I find the best grades at 20-25. Also you have to get the crowd hot but not too hot in order for this to be the most effective note.

Workers with bad psych will bomb long matches though.

It is way easier with this TEW to get a handle on it then 13. It is literately moving your audience in waves raising them up and down and trying to end the show on an emotional high. Best advice I can give you is turn off the auto save and tinker with the aims until you have a good feel for it.

The trick is to change all of your referee names to Referee John Cone... works every time... unless you are used to pressing RE to go to someone like Remo in the SWF and then you suddenly tank your angles by booking the wrong person in there. Ain't many referees in the SWF that could replace Remo. :p
