Deadly Overloaded Action is a faster-paced form of wrestling that relies heavily on exciting fight/wrestling sequences. Knowing this, the in-ring features of note are modern (heavy) and Daredevil (Medium). While anyone and anyone COULD do well in DOA (as it's more about the characters and stories overall), the perfect example of a DOA-ready wrestler would be someone like: Jack Evans, Jeff Hardy, and X-Pac. This is not saying that you have to ONLY create these kind of wrestlers. Honestly, please don't (as the company will feel ALL the same). That said, this is what I have in mind when it comes to a typical DOA wrestling match.</span></span></div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:'Trebuchet MS';"> </span></span></div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:'Trebuchet MS';">

When it comes to the entertainment aspects of the promotion, the features of note are Cult (Key Feature), Mainstream (Medium), Risque (Medium), and Traditional (Medium). In this vein, DOA's presentation is a dark and gritty approach to wrestling programming. Some inspirations that loosely explain the look/feel of the brand would be: The Dark Knight trilogy, Deus X game, The Matrix trilogy, and Dark Tower. This doesn't mean that EVERY creation HAS to be brooding. Again, if EVERYONE is the same, then the company will feel rather flat; in a way. Overall though, this is the kind of feel you will get when reading the shows (looking at the images, etc.).</span></span></div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:'Trebuchet MS';"> </span></span></div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:'Trebuchet MS';">

</span></span></div></div></div></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:'Trebuchet MS';"><strong>HOW WILL YOUR CREATIONS COME TO BE?</strong></span></span></div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:'Trebuchet MS';">

I want an ALL GDS created roster; however, that does pose a challenge when it comes to believably. Here, an American TV company wants to create their own wrestling show; however, they won't hire ANY known indy names to start out? That can seem weird. That said, I am creating a scenario for which your creations have either A) Just started in wrestling, B) wrestled on the far underground (in a sense, not known to anyone, really), or C) came from another world other than wrestling (i.e. MMA, Boxing, Actor, etc.). The good thing is, due to having a TV contract, your wrestlers will start out with a decent sense of popularity (simply being on the show). That said, no one's popularity will be any more than the company's popularity as a whole (around an E or E+). </span></span></div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:'Trebuchet MS';"> </span></span></div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:'Trebuchet MS';">

From there, everyone will go through the "DOA Boot Camp" (a created Dojo in the game). The head of that Dojo is none other than Eric Tyler. This is both a nod to my 1st DOA dynasty AND a realistic way to get everyone "up to speed" as wrestlers before hitting TV. You will all start out as students of Eric Tyler (making his connections in the world VERY big). He'll be seen as the guy who trained the team of wrestlers before hitting the screen.</span></span></div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:'Trebuchet MS';"> </span></span></div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:'Trebuchet MS';">

There were some who felt that they didn't put forth their "best creation" last time around. I heard that from a number of people. This time around, I'm going to push you to think deeply about your character. Don't just create one on a whim and possibly not really "connect" with them. There are A LOT of questions on the form; so, I can better understand your creation. Knowing this, you'll need to understand them as well (as these questions pull out a specific look and feel for them). Please note also, those who name a picture they plan to use will have a better chance of making the roster than if you did not.</span></span></div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:'Trebuchet MS';"> </span></span></div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:'Trebuchet MS';">

UPDATE

I'm making the right choice with DOA. I've started the creation process and I am truly salivating from a creative standpoint. Everything from how the show will be presented, the imagery, and the staff members are really exciting me about the future of this project. More or less, that "itch" is there with this project.

The staff members I've created have really been fun so far. Instead of just creating "people", I have decided to create the kind of people/characters that I would LIKE to write for. This has made things REALLY fun for me thus far. The commentary team, the CEO of DOA (an executive producer at the POP! Network), and EVEN the referee are all being developed with a purpose in mind (and a story to tell).

EDIT:
It looks like this thread has been moved here!

As a fan and a reader, there is nothing better than seeing a writer that thoroughly enjoys what he's creating, like at it's best you can see everything just flow seamlessly into their work.

Looking forward to it :)

<p>Pretty pumped for my creation. I've still gotta hunt down a render (hopefully the one I have in mind hasn't been lost to Photobucket like the previous idea I had), and sort out a few more details.</p><p> </p><p>

EDIT: Nope, gone to the Photobucket abyss as well. Back to the hunt for something new.</p>

<p></p><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">UPDATE</span></strong></div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;">

I really love the creations that have been put forth thus far. All very cool! I will remind you that the product has a heavy modern focus (and a medium daredevil focus, as well). While any wrestler can succeed in any product, it's best to think whether or not your creation could truly thrive in Deadly Overloaded Action. </div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;">

</div></div></div></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><em><strong>As Markw pointed out as well,</strong></em></div></div></div></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> there is a slew of heels with good entertainment skills being presented early on. For those still looking to submit wrestlers, think about how you could stand out among these figures. If you're still looking to create a heel with good entertainment skills (which is 100% okay to do so still), then make sure your character has something special to make it stand out. </div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;">

</div></div></div></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><strong><em>The DOA roster will be somewhere around 25 wrestlers</em></strong></div></div></div></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;">. The weekly TV show will run around 60 to 90 minutes. I haven't decided yet. Once I solidify that, I will probably have a better idea of how many wrestlers will be on the final roster (anywhere from 20 to 25 ideally). </div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;">

</div></div></div></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><em><strong>The first 24 episodes of the DOA's show will be considered "Season One."</strong></em></div></div></div></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> That puts us at 6-months of in-game booking. From there, there will be a PPV event that will be a "season's end" kind of event. The very next broadcast will start "Season 2" in my mind; allowing for some time to take a small break, get everything ready for the next season, and push on from there.</div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Keep your creations coming. Right now, we have a lot of Raven-esque figures it seems. Don't get me wrong, I love Raven and always have.</div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;">

That said, I wouldn't mind seeing other unique creations. </div></div></div></div>

I know my entrant is likely not gonna be very good compared to others, but I hope it is still decent or noticable and you are free to edit any part of him <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />
