The biggest show in PROGRESS Wrestling history begins with the usual appearance of the flat-cap wearing, PROGRESS-flag-waiving son-of-a-gun Jim Smallman coming down to the ring to strong “THIS IS PROGRESS” chants! “This is pretty unbelieve, eh? This time last year we needed a bigger room… again… and now, thanks to all of you fans, we sold out the Ally Pally. From the bottom of my heart, and of Jon’s and Glen’s, we thank you for making this possible. Without you, the Progress Ultras, we couldn’t have made it here. So give yourselves a round of applause and let’s get this show on the road… but before we do so, let’s go over the ground rule of PROGRESS… don’t be a Dick!” finished Small as Chase The Sun officially begins.

With the opportunity of becoming Number One Contender for the PROGRESS Championship on the line, all eight-men knew that the stakes were high in this contest. All eight-men duked it out in and out of the ring here in the Alexandra Palace, with Strangler Davis getting the early edge by overpowering the other competitors. The team of FSU soon joined forces to take out Davis and keep the advantage for a while, that is until Davis, Gibson, Drake, and Dunne teamed up as a defacto four versus four match seemed to take place. Flash Morgan Webster soon took Gibson out of the ring with a clothesline, and then, don’t call Randy Orton, nearly everyone dove out of the ring one-after-another! Mark Andrews seemingly got the advantage by being the last one to DIVE~! out of the ring, and then almost capitalizing with a nearfall on James Drake. But the fall was broken up by a surprise Mr. Cocko in the middle of the ring! The PROGRESS fans were loving it, so by default, Chief Deputy Dunne put an end to the hold as he ripped the condom in half, leaving no protection in the ring! Among the fray, Mark Andrews rolled up Dunne in the middle of the ring for the victory!

BIG LADS WRESTLING! This hard-hitting match featured chops and strikes that echoed and bounced off every single wall here in the sold-out Ally Pally. Ringkampf members WALTER and Timothy Thatcher didn’t take the time to work together, as this was every man for himself throughout. Matt Riddle and WALTER engaged in a chop-fest that left their chests bleeding as Timothy Thatcher brought the match down by going to the technical well a few too many times. In an impressive and awesome looking spot, Riddle had Thatcher trapped in a Guillotine Choke, but WALTER broke it up with a big boy senton from the top-rope that had everybody in awe! With Thatcher out of the equation, after being literally squashed by his stablemate, WALTER and Riddle went toe-to-toe in the third part of their trilogy of their trenchant series. In the end, WALTER put his rival away with the Golden Bomb to regain the PROGRESS Atlas Championship!

B.S.S. vs. C.C.K. This match is months in the making in the culmination of this blood feud that has seen the PROGRESS Tag Team Championship change hands a multitude of times. After choosing the stipulation of this bout, CCK knew that they had to put it all on the line in order to reclaim the glory of being Tag Team champions. This ladder match was reminiscent of the battles of yesteryear between The Hardyz and Edge & Christian, due to the simple fact that this match reeked of awesomeness. Chris Brooks, Kid Lykos, Trent Seven, and Tyler Bate know one another all too well, as they frequently were able to counter the others’ moves and have a fast-paced destructive contest. Near the end of the bout, the match spilled outside and onto the makeshift entrance stage where Tyler Bate and Kid Lykos both climbed to the top, as both men duked it out nearly twenty-five feet in the air. In what some might consider attempted murder, Kid Lykos flipped over Bate and powerbombed him into a stack of tables below as the Ultras in the Ally Pally couldn’t help but scream “Holy shit!” at the move. Meanwhile, back in the ring, Trent Seven channelled his inner-footy player and punted Chris Brooks’ balls up into his stomach before climbing the ladder, reaching the championships, and unhooking them for the win.

It wouldn’t be a big PROGRESS show without “The Technical Wizard” Zack Sabre Jr., who is hot off of the New Japan G1 Climax tournament. Zack was met with applause as he entered the Alexandra Palace, but those cheers soon turned to jeers as Zack’s demeanor changed. “You guys are so ****in’ lucky to be able to sit there in the presence of a literal wrestling God. While I know most of you people know that I made a big mark on New Japan Pro-Wrestling, you marks may not know that I am no longer contractually obligated to do these stupid PROGRESS shows. The only reason why I’m here is because I like professional wrestling and I want to make a fool of whoever steps out from the back to answer this challenge. If Triple H couldn’t get me, nobody can, I am the hottest free agent in wrestling and I won’t stop until I win every single championship in the world. So, Peter, Travis, keep that belt warm for me, lads… now bring on this challenge.”

“... and his opponent… from Tijuana, Mexico… he is the Generic Luchador…”

“EL GENERICO!”

The roof of the Alexandra Palace nearly took off like a rocket as the masked Generic Luchador makes his return to the squared circle for the first time since 2013, when he went to Mexico to take care of the many orphans there. However, as this match progress, it looked as if Generico did not miss a beat and he possessed so much fluidity in the ring that he could be compared to a WWE Superstar, Sami Zayn to be exact. He and Zack Sabre Jr. traded offence throughout the match, with Zack showing a preference for the ground game while Generico flew around the ring like the Mexican luchador that he is. El Generico connected with a picture-perfect Blue Thunder Bomb that nearly won him the match, but Sabre reversed the pinfall attempt into a Kimura Lock, that Generico eventually escaped. After missing with an Ole Kick in the corner, El Generico found himself on the wrong side of the Jim Breaks Special, forcing the masked marvel to tap out in this open challenge.

By going from the fun-loving antics of El Generico to this freakin’ DEATHMATCH, surely there was some bad juju going on inside the Ally Pally as former rivals-turned-friends-turned-rivals went at it as if their lives were on the line. These two former PROGRESS Champions put their bodies in danger as a who’s who of weapons came out to play in this contest, including thumbtacks, barbed wire, light tubes, and even the kitchen sink. Mark Haskins fought valiantly and with good reason, his wife Vicky stood by at ringside, while he grimaced in pain as Jimmy Havoc, the 2017 Tournament of Death winner, physically beat him from pillar to post. Haskins did put the deathmatch specialist in various degrees of pain as well, at one point digging a broken light tube right in the forehead of the psychotic Havoc. The two men bled buckets in the middle of the ring, painting the Alexandra Palace in crimson red as the Ultras ate it up at every moment. At one point, Haskins threw Havoc into a pane of glass, with shards sticking out of Jimmy’s back. To add insult to injury, Mark grabbed a package of salt from under the ring and devilishly poured it slowly onto the wounds of the “Emo Destroyer”. However, in the end, Jimmy Havoc’s experience in these contests pulled off as he pulled Haskins up to the top rope and connected with a Death Valley Driver onto the arena floor below! A loud snap echoed around the arena as Jimmy Havoc finished the match by getting the winning pinfall right then and there to mercifully end the bout.

MARK HASKINS SUSTAINED A FEMORAL STRESS FRACTURE DURING THE MATCH

It was time for the Alexandra Palace to Keep it 100 as this battle between these two female competitors from New Zealand shook the building as two fan favourites duked it out for the title of PROGRESS Women’s Champion. Fresh off her inclusion in the WWE Mae Young Classic, Toni Storm started the match with the upperhand and outwrestled Dahlia at multiple occasions, but Black never gives up as if her name was John Cena and she kept fighting valiantly. Toni Storm eventually got cocky, knowing that she had the skills advantage over her challenger, but the Ally Pally was firmly behind the better half of the South Pacific Power Couple. In the end, Toni Storm missed with a clothesline that allowed Dahlia Black to connect with her boyfriend TK Cooper’s RockPaperScissors Kick for the pinfall victory!
DAHLIA BLACK IS THE NEW PROGRESS WOMEN’S CHAMPION!

As soon as the bell rung to signal the end of the match, Dahlia Black hopped up in excitement as she is handed the PROGRESS Women’s Championship, a title she helped design. She holds it high up over he head as her boyfriend TK Cooper comes out from the back with the biggest smile on his face as he enters the ring and the two embrace. The kids from New Zealand have done it! “TK AND DAHLIA” chants fly around the Palace as the new PROGRESS Women’s Champion is crowned here tonight. Toni Storm suddenly re-enters the ring and comes face to face with Dahlia, looking stoic before breaking character and bowing down to Black. Storm raises the hand of the new champion and wishes her luck as Champion before bowing out. Thank you Toni.

It is now time for the biggest match in the United Kingdom this year as the current WWE UK Champion and PROGRESS Champion Pete Dunne puts his PROGRESS title on the line against the winner of the 2017 Super Strong Style 16 tournament, Travis Banks. As Jim Smallman handled the formal in-ring introductions for this huge bout, the Ally Pally was absolutely electric. The tension could be cut with a knife and as soon as the bell rung, these two competitors teed off with passion and fury. If you needed a match that defines the style of PROGRESS, this is it. Dunne and Banks both connected with chest-shaking chops and mind-blowing shots as the Ultras sat at the edge of their seat for the duration of the bout. At one point in the match, Dunne got himself disqualified by kicking the referee right in the family jewels, but Jim Smallman was having none of that as he ordered the match to restart as a No Disqualifications match. The match restarted and both men’s crazed violence shone through with Dunne capitalizing with a sledgehammer shot that almost put the match away, but Banks kicked out at the last possible fraction of a second! Things weren’t looking good for Banks as British Strong Style members Tyler Bate and Trent Seven marched down to the ring and were hoping to help their pal Dunne. However, TK Cooper ran down to the ring and stood his ground to defend his good friend Travis. British Strong Style still had the advantage, that is until the lights went off as a loud “WHOOP! WHOOP!” blares over the speakers. The lights come back on as Bullet Club member and former PROGRESS Champion Marty Scurll stands across the ring from British Strong Style as he clubs Seven over the head with an umbrella! The PROGRESS fans are going nuts as TK takes care of Bate while it leaves Dunne and Banks standing face-to-face in the middle of the ring! Pete Dunne spits in “The Kiwi Buzzsaw’s” face but Banks finishes things with not one, but two Kiwi Crushers to end the biggest match in the UK and to become the new PROGRESS Champion!
TRAVIS BANKS IS THE NEW PROGRESS CHAMPION!

Travis Banks remains on his knees in the middle of the ring as Jim Smallman hands him the PROGRESS Championship as a loud “You Deserve It!” chant breaks out within the Alexandra Palace. Banks has tears in his eyes as TK Cooper hugs him to celebrate the win as new PROGRESS Women’s Champion Dahlia Black and CCK all come down to the ring to congratulate their friend on an epic victory. Meanwhile, Marty Scurll slowly claps from the top of the entrance stage before returning to the back. CCK hoists Banks onto their shoulders as the era of Pete Dunne is finally over! Travis Banks is the new PROGRESS Champion and he is ready to lead PROGRESS into the future.

In typical PROGRESS Wrestling fashion, Chapter 56 opens up with the flat-cap wearing, PROGRESS-flag-waiving son-of-a-gun Jim Smallman coming down to the ring to excite and welcome the PROGRESS faithful to another exciting night of pro graps. Smallman quickly goes over how cool the last chapter was, by selling out in the freakin’ ALLY PALLY, and that it wouldn’t have been possible without you.. the PROGRESS fans. And now they are on the road to Wembley, but tonight PROGRESS is here to trick and treat you to a great night of action… however before the speech could go on, the attention is diverted to a very young and bitter Pete Dunne who walks out with the WWE UK Championship slung over his shoulder and a disappointed look on his face. Dunne notes that even though he is no longer PROGRESS Champion, he is still the highest paid sports-entertainer in this company and was disappointed to see his match not scheduled as the main event tonight. Dunne refuses to compete tonight against Marty Scurll unless he is given the main event spot — which prompts a loud “**** Off” chant to emerge from the crowd. Neither Smallman or Dunne budge on their stance on the matter, that is until Jim eventually caves and gives Dunne the main event spot for his match with Marty Scurll… under one condition: should Pete Dunne lose, he is fired from PROGRESS Wrestling! The stipulation is set and tonight’s main event should be a barnburner.

NUMBER ONE CONTENDER'S MATCH
#CCK vs. Sweet Jesus

While they were unsuccessful in capturing the PROGRESS Tag Team Championships at Chapter 55, both Chris Brookes and Kid Lykos both want another shot at taking the titles. However, to do so they had the tough task ahead of them in the dynamic duo of Chuck Mambo and Pastor William Eaver. Both teams put in some great effort in the match, but ultimately the lacking tag team experience of Mambo and Eaver were their downfall in the end as Chris Brookes made the Jesus-look-a-like tap out to the Octopus Stretch for the victory.

This was Ryan Smile’s PROGRESS debut here tonight and he did impress by displaying his moves that is making his star shine in both OTT Wrestling and ATTACK!. However, he had a tough challenge in the form of Trent Seven, who punched him so hard during the match it popped Smile’s PROGRESS cherry. In the end, Ryan Smile almost got the surprise victory over Seven with a rollup, but the veteran rolled through and connect with the Seven Stars Lariat for the hard-earned victory.

IF DAHLIA & TK WIN, TK COOPER GETS A SHOT AT BRITISH STRONG STYLE'S TAG TEAM TITLES
Jinny and Tyler Bate vs. TK Cooper and Dahlia Black

Going from one half of Moustache Mountain to the other, PROGRESS Tag Team Champion Tyler Bate teamed up with Jinny to face the lovebirds TK Cooper and PROGRESS Women’s Champion Dahlia Black. The stipulations on this match were quite unique, should Jinny and Bate win, Jinny would get a shot at Dahlia’s title, but should TK and Dahlia win, TK Cooper gets to pick a partner to challenge for Bate and Seven’s Tag Team titles. In the end, all four competitors brought it and Tyler Bate shined throughout with his experience in the ring, but TK Cooper’s willingness to hit a girl won his team the match after he planted Jinny with a Belly-To-Back Piledriver that allowed Dahlia to secure the pinfall and allowing her boyfriend to earn a shot against British Strong Style for the Tag Team titles.

After the match, Jinny made it known that she is coming for the PROGRESS Women’s Championship by attacking Dahlia Black from behind with a steel chair. Jinny was ruthless with the attack while Tyler Bate held TK Cooper back, as he stood there unable to help his girlfriend out. Dahlia Black may have won the match, but Jinny is the one standing tall here tonight.

NUMBER ONE CONTENDER'S MATCH
Zack Sabre Jr. vs. Jimmy Havoc

In this hellacious Number One Contender’s Match, the crazed Jimmy Havoc stood toe-to-toe with “The Technical Wizard” in a rematch from the PROGRESS Orlando show from earlier this year. The match went back-and-forth quite a bit throughout its duration, with Jimmy Havoc using his brawling style against Zack’s technical style. Needless to say, this match was a mismatch of styles that worked perfectly. In the conclusion of the match, Zack Sabre Jr.’s technical mastery gave him the slight advantage as he gave Jimmy Havoc an ultimatum: tap out or have your arm popped out of its socket… which forced Havoc to eventually concede defeat.

PROGRESS ATLAS CHAMPIONSHIP

BIG LADS WRESTLING~! These two hard-hitting competitors made their mark known in the world of the Atlas division in this one. This match was basically a coming-out party for Strangler Davis following the split of the London Riots, but WALTER was not going to take this match lightly. In fact, the Atlas Champion dished out most of the punishment around the ring, but Davis used his outside-the-ring awareness when the fight fell to the floor. In the end, WALTER would not lay down here tonight as he finished the contender off with the Golden Bomb to make his first defence of the big boys championship.

PROGRESS CHAMPIONSHIP

In what was originally the main event for La Danse Macabre, Mark Andrews challenged the new PROGRESS Champion Travis Banks in a wonderful match. Andrews won this opportunity at Chapter 55 in the eight-man scramble match and he was prepped and ready for this bout here tonight. However, “The Kiwi Buzzsaw” is certainly not somebody to take lightly (just ask Pete Dunne). Both competitors brought it in this match of epic proportions, but in the end only one man could emerge victorious… that man being Travis Banks. Banks put “Mandrews” away with the Airplane Slam to secure the pinfall and retain his title as the man in the company.
TRAVIS BANKS RETAINS THE PROGRESS CHAMPIONSHIP!

Following the match, as Jim Smallman hands Banks his championship after the hard-fought defence, the familiar face of Zack Sabre Jr. walks down to the ring as he comes face-to-face with the PROGRESS Champion. After winning his Number One Contender’s match earlier tonight, Zack Sabre Jr. makes it known that he is coming to dethrone Travis Banks and become PROGRESS champion.

IF PETE DUNNE LOSES, HE IS FIRED FROM PROGRESS WRESTLING
Pete Dunne vs. Marty Scurll

The end of Chapter 55 signified two things: one, Pete Dunne is no longer the PROGRESS Champion, and two, Marty Scurll has returned to PROGRESS and has deemed himself “The Vigilante” of the promotion. In his eyes, only one villain can truly destroy all false evil in the company… and he got the opportunity to do so here tonight against British Strong Style’s Pete Dunne. Both men gave it their all in this match, showcasing why they are among the elite in British wrestling today, but the WWE UK Champion eventually ended up with only one pay cheque instead of two as Marty Scrurll proved to be a true vigilante by putting Dunne down with a devastating Bird of Prey. The loudest “One. Two. Three.” crowd participation ever in PROGRESS is heard as the final pinfall leaves Peter without a PROGRESS contract.

Following the match, a loud “NA NA NA NA, HEY HEY HEY, GOODBYE!” chant emerges from the PROGESS faithful, joined in by an emerging Jim Smallman, Travis Banks, and TK Cooper. Pete Dunne is not impressed as fellow British Strong Style members Tyler Bate and Trent Seven walk out and protest the decision. The celebration continues as Jim Smallman orders members of security to walk Pete Dunne out of the Electric Ballroom as the singing along continues from the Ultras. Pete Dunne is literally dragged away from ringside as British Strong Style follow him to the back. Meanwhile, Travis Banks and TK Cooper all share a laugh at the expense of the now fired WWE UK Champion… but wait a minute, Marty Scurll is back in the ring and he decks both Banks and Cooper in the face with his umbrella! With both men dazed, Scurll throws TK out of the ring and then plants the PROGRESS Champion with the Bird of Prey! The Ultras are ultra shocked as Marty Scurll stands tall over the champion while holding the PROGRESS Championship high in the air. “The Vigilante” stands with no one as Chapter 56 dances away to a close.
