January Monday Week 1 2016

Farrah Hesketh is sat in her office at her home in Texas, she is staring out of the window as she sips at a glass of red wine. Whilst her wrestling promotion is based in the busy city of Houston, Farrah has always relished the peace and quiet, so she lived outside of the city. It was only 5pm but as it is the middle of winter Farrah finds herself staring out into nothing but darkness, but it wouldn’t have mattered if there was anything to see or not as she is far too deep in thought.

Farrah is snapped out of her thoughts as her phone starts to vibrate on the desk in front of her, she glances at the caller ID to see Boss Man Brayfield, the booker of her promotion, is finally returning her call.

“Well hey Farrah, I’m sorry to keep you waiting. You know what the holidays are like and well our little New Years party got pretty out of hand and when you get to my age hangovers seem to stick around a lot longer.”

Farrah lets out a little giggle at that. Typical Boss man.

“It’s fine Jackson, I’m glad you had a nice break. But I want to talk about the future of the company.”

“Oh?”

“I mean we’ve been doing great, the product has been fantastic but ultimately we’re still the little sister. When people think women’s wrestling they think AAA and I want that to change.”

“You’re not talking about … war? Farrah I really don’t think-“The concern is evident in Brayfield’s voice.

“No, no nothing like that.” Farrah is quick to reassure him “I have nothing but fond memories of AAA and have many friends there, but we call our selves the Queens of American Wrestling and it is time to earn that title.” Farrah declares with a fire in her voice.

“Well okay, I’ve been committed to you since I came aboard right at the start and you know I’m still committed right until the end.”

“I know and I will always appreciate it Jackson. Look, I just wanted to tell you that 2016 is going to be a huge year for us, I’ll call you again in a couple of days and we’ll start to plan. But just know I want to be much more hands on with the booking now, we’re going to share the workload. Enjoy the rest of the holidays and give everyone my best.”

With that the pair say their goodbyes and hang up.

Farrah returns to her wine as she gets out her diary, she has always been a meticulous planner and now it was time to go to work.

OOC Stuff

So here it is, my first attempt at not only a Cverse diary but also just a serious Cverse playthrough. I have tried to do some background research on the promotion, but I decided that I wanted this to be as much as of a clean canvas as possible so therefore I have not looked at any diaries on the promotion nor have I looked at any guides because I didn’t want to put other people’s ideas into my head.

I think I understand the general gist of the promotion, but if there are any errors then please bear with me as I get to grips with it and if there are any glaring errors that you feel impact the quality of the diary then feel free to let me know.

Finally, I just want to say a quick thank you for all the support my previous works have received, even the one that didn’t really get off the ground got a ton of support and I really feel like the cverse could be a great fit for me as it gives me so much creative freedom and I have a lot planned.

Oh and one final note, on my previous diaries I always used Lightshot and screen capped my work from google docs but a glance at my SHIMMER diary suggest they have been deleted older caps, so I’ll now be using imgur for pictures and my diary will look a lot more like everyone else’s.

From the diary of Farrah Hesketh

So the meeting with Boss man went pretty well all things considered. He has been around a very long time and has seen many promotions falter just as they seemed to be really picking up steam, so I fully understand his reluctance, but I firmly believe that what we have here is something truly special and could grow to become a real force in wrestling.

I stressed to him that the product needs to become even more modern, fans nowadays are smarter and they want faster wrestling. Sure we have our Lucha influence that has always given us an edge, but I believe we can do even more.

I also pitched him the weekly show idea and unfortunately, he did not get behind it at all at first, but I did manage to talk him around. Whilst this is my promotion and it is my money, I owe a lot to Jackson so I’m really pleased I managed to convince him.

That means that starting Week 1 of February, we’ll be running our first weekly events and whilst I can’t wait a part of me is incredibly nervous. I was always happy with us just putting on our shows and pleasing our core fanbase, am I rushing too fast into this expansion?

No it has to be done. More shows will make the word spread and give us more money for talent, then who knows maybe one day we’ll finally get on TV.

Me and Boss man are going to meet up a few more times in the next fortnight and plan out what is going to happen at our new weekly show.

To do list

- Talk to the wrestlers about the new show

- Come up with a name for the new show

- Buy more wine

- Seriously, buy more wine

Great to see you trying your hand at QAW!

Since it is your first serious Cverse playthrough, I think you've chosen wisely. QAW has some natural advantages, and there are a ton of great women wrestlers to start the game.

Alexis Lee Littlefeather vs Emma May (w/ Boss Man Brayfield)

Tough one. I don't know why, but I confused Emma May with Ellie May Watson. If it was Ellie May, this would be an easy pick. Alexis is up there in years, but I have a soft spot for her due to her time in BSC, so I'll go with her.

Foxxy LaRue vs Millie the Minx

My guess is you don't do a title change in your show, though I do like Anderson & Snyder.

Danielle will likely be your big star in the early going, and this should be a good way to build her momentum.

It's easy to look at my own game and because I went a certain way in my save, you'll fall into the same patterns. Two that perhaps never got a fair shake in my game were Emma May and Millie the Minx. If I'd done it all over again, I think I would have been tempted to give Emma the win here just to see what she can do. Alexis is getting up there in age, so while I had a lot of good use for her in my game, I think I'd be tempted to see how far I could push Emma instead. In the other singles matches I don't foresee any upsets. I'd be curious to see how good Millie can become, but I doubt she beats Foxxy here.

I don't see a title change immediately in the cards in the tag division. I never got to use Crackdown much, because Toni Parissi was a locker room pest so I sent her packing almost right away, but I'm sure they can be a good team. Huracán is one of my favorites on the roster.

Count me in too. I have followed both of Dr. A's and Mr. Wolf in their previous diaries on the cverse and I have enjoyed both. QAW seems like it could be a real fun group to run. Good luck.
