Increasing soccer kicks / stomps / ground knees

Recommended Posts

After 15 cards, and watching all fights, I’ve yet to see a single stomp/soccer kick, or a knee to the head of a grounded opponent

Was looking to create a Vale Tudo style company, but regardless of the rules settings it seems to be using standard MMA format and rules

Playing in Brazil for reference, using default data, and only held shows in Brazil

No, it is not using the standard rules.

You're not seeing many of them because they're quite rare - if the fight doesn't have any knock downs or gets into a position with someone in a turtled up position then there is no chance at all of them happening because those are the only locations that they are active.

I have raised the percentages slightly for patch 1.06. You can also increase the odds by giving people the appropriate attribute. I may add more positions for them in future.

Stomps and Kicks Finish Probability?

Is it me or do stomps and kicks to a knocked down opponent never finish anyone? In my 3 years save, I have never seen anyone finished by stomps and kicks. They always get back up. This issue is even more prevalent now as the frequency was increased.

I’ve seen half a dozen fights with stomps & kicks now, but also no finishes.

Pedro Sousa dominated a round 10-7 with three flurries of stomps and kicks, no finish, got subbed in the next round...

I didn’t realise that stomps and soccer kicks would be combined, as they are separate options in the rules, I figured they would be used separately, with soccer kicks being lethal, but it doesn’t appear so. I also saw in my mind soccer kicks being against someone kneeling rather than on their back

But thinking about it, if someone is worried about getting subbed, makes sense for them to use kicks/stomps instead of G&P as much less likely to get caught, but it does also make sense that they are less effective to s9meone on their back.

Maybe when someone is on their back G&P is still the default as they would be more effective - there is less control with stomps/kicks, but soccer kicks are able to be used & in isolation, and are more effective, to kneeling fighters/fighters on their front?

They are separate, and soccer kicks are to people on their knees. There is one place where they are combined, but that is not the primary usage.

It's primarily based on low kicking power for soccer kicks, for example; if the fighters doing the kick have poor power than they're rarely going to finish.

As for increasing the power: as I've already indicated above, this has been taken as a suggestion and will be looked at - there hasn't been a patch since you made your post though.
