Clean out a division

Recommended Posts

Who cares if he's beaten people before. Just keep putting him in fights and eventually something will happen. There's nothing wrong with rematches.

I don't find that super fights is really a solution. If you have a really terrible division, have Dean fight about once a year and just keep going.

If Dean wins then have him switch divisions every other match. Have intirm champions ready to fight in the meantime. If you don't want to do that then vacate the middleweight title and have a one night tourney.

What?

I know this is a game, but just imagine if that were to happen in real life. "Okay GSP, you're just too good. You're not the champ anymore and we're running a tournament to find a new champion. Okay bye."

Bring someone down from 205 to fight him...maybe someone coming off of a title fight loss.. Or have someone from 170 move up to fight him...

In the past I have had him move up to have a one off fight at 205 against a top 10 opponent while you get more clarity in his division.

You can have him coach a reality show while the division treads on... those are just some ideas.

For Matt Dean, I eventually let him super-fight for the Light Heavyweight title. Both times I've done this (in WMMA4, and now in 5) he lost that title bid in extraordinary fashion and then came back to lose his title on the next defense (and the immediate rematch).

I'm good with superfights but I'll only allow it if the champ has defended 5 times, but most realistically to a clean a division out completely I'd want them to have 10ish. I'll never strip a champion for being too good, but I have no problem letting them challenge for another weight class while the division moves on with an interim champ. When they're done, they can come back and unify the titles. This is assuming they have first, in fact, cleaned out the division.

I'm wearin' both o those b+tches by the time I'm done wi' him!"

In all seriousness, it depends on how "serious" you treat the title. In the past I've always vacated from the moment a champion won a different title (so they can hold them both for a night only). It seems only fair to the rest of the division. Unless it's a champ like Pam O'Neill, who can fight once every two months if she's coming out of fights unscathed.

Note to self: give Pam a FlyW title shot as she pretty much cleaned out her division. <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />
