Real World Chronicles Continued [Modern Day Real World Mod]

There's no reason for Funaki to be signed to WWE in the data. It'd be pointless since foreign announce teams aren't a thing.

I think he is signed with them and he helps with japanese wrestlers. He was pictured alongside Nakamura when he went to sign with WWE at the time and the same with Kana/Asuka. I could be wrong though.

Still pointless. Backstage personnel are not reflected in TEW and shouldn’t be given contracts unless they’re on screen characters(ie interviewers) or road agents. Funaki is none of the above.

Roderick Strong and Marina Shafir got married on the weekend.

Strowman has some heat backstage and in TEW terms he should probably skew towards Flaky as it turning up late and that sort of stuff rather than aggression or any similar stuff. His knees are reportedly iffy too.

I can help out with independent Japan groups. I didn't really look at stats at all but could with those also.

Here's what I saw at first glance...

BJW

Promotion:

-no face/heel divide - might want to lower 'traditional' in product also depending on your philosophy on that

-announcers should be Eiji Tosaka (announcer) & Hirotsugu Suyama (color - not currently in database) with high experience - currenty listed yuji shindo is just the actual ring announcer and a backstage hand, so could be removed from the database depending on how you feel about those roles

-add BJW Dojo with Sekimoto as trainer

-not certain if the 'World Triangle League' alliance exists anymore - a working relationship with wxw might suit better

Workers:

-add Minoru Fujita, Ryuichi Sekine to roster

-remove Kohei Sato, Shuji Ishikawa from roster

-set Abdullah Kobayashi to active wrestler

-Frank's (Atsushi Ohashi) stats as a ref seem pretty low for their head official

-set Takayuki Ueki to brawler, Toshiyuki Sakuda to cruiserweight, Brahman Brothers to brawlers, Kankuro Hoshino to brawler, Kazumi Kikuta to puroresu style

-Isami Kodaka fractured his jaw and will be out until sometime early next year, so could be added as a starting injury

-missing from database: Yuki Ishikawa, Akira Hyodo (trainees), Mac Takeda (referee), Daikokubo Benkei (retired wrestler/road agent)

Teams:

-set Hamakami and Muscle and Fat to inactive

-add Double Dragon as individuals - Ryuji Ito and Ryuichi Sekine (low experience)

-add Dorodoro Brothers as individuals - Minoru Fujita and Kankuro Hoshino (low experience)

-add Party Boys as individuals - Tatsuhiko Yoshino and Kota Sekifuda (medium experience)

-add Crazy Lovers as individuals - Masashi Takeda and Takumi Tsukamoto (medium experience)

-add Astronauts as individuals - Takuya Nomura and Fuminori Abe (low experience)

-add Hama & Nakanoue as individuals - Ryota Hama and Yasufumi Nakanoue (high experience)

Stables:

-rename 'B Flauntess Junkies' to 'B Faultless Junkies' and add Jaki Numazawa

-remove/set Moon Vulcan to inactive

-add 3rd Generation Chimidoro Brothers - Takayuki Ueki, Masaya Takahashi & Toshiyuki Sakuda

Z1

Promotion:

-remove face/heel divide, as rly only Voodoo Murders are overt heels

-Oki Okidata is just the ring announcer; Daisuke Takahashi (announcer) & Katsuhiko Kanazawa (color) are the team for the Samurai TV broadcasts - both missing from database

-don't believe the 'United Wrestling Alliance' exists any longer (at least in meaningful sense)

-both the junior titles have been vacated as a result of Kodaka's injury

Workers:

-remove KAMIKAZE, Kengo, Masamune, Yutaka Yoshie

-add Hiroshi Yamato

-Yusaku Obata has been inactive since June due to vertebrae fracture and no return date has been set

-change Yusaku Obata to puroresu style, Super Tiger to MMA crossover

-change name of Masayuki Okamoto to Shogun Okamoto

-missing from database: Shoki Kitamura and Towa Iwasaki (trainees)

Stables:

-set Voodoo Murders to active, remove Kengo + add Chris Vice, Shogun Okamoto, Yoshikazu Yokoyama

W-1

Promotion:

-working relationships with AJPW & DG can be removed

-could set women's wrestling to division - it isn't fully fledged, but they generally book one women's match per Korakuen and they train girls as well - if so, add Hana Kimura, Reika Saiki and ASUKA

-add WRESTLE-1 Dojo with Kaz Hayashi as trainer

-add Kenichiro Arai, El Hijo del Pantera, Ryuji Hijikata, Ken Suzuki

Teams:

-set Team 246 and Trigger to inactive

Stables:

-Remove Seigo Tachibana from Enfants Terribles, add Kuma Arashi and Kenichiro Arai

I lied, Abyss just appeared as Joseph Park on Impact... and now got beat up so I have no idea what I am talking about. I am sure this is an Abyss vs Eli fued

A lot of the arenas of all sizes that were present in Fleisch's version seem to be missing now, like Fenway Park and Lucas Oil Stadium.

Also I'd like to second what someone said several pages back that Becky Lynch's stats could use a little boost, she's easily the most popular woman in WWE except for Ronda Rousey (because of her mainstream recognition) and no way should she be less of an in-ring worker or promo than, say, Charlotte Flair IMO.

This database is ridiculously awesome. Thank you Southside, Fleisch, and all that helped put this together. Love it.

A few NJPW notes (yeah, I have OCD but I do this out of love):

*Adam Page seems like he could use a bump, particularly to his entertainment and camera skills. He's got the look and charisma that could make him a decent star and it's not surprising that WWE offered him a deal recently.

*El Desperado seems underrated. He's quietly had a fantastic year and this extended tag title run seems like a reward for that. Really great basics, smart worker (psych is super low for a great hand-type), very good tech skills to work a rudo lucha style. I'm not a fan of Kanemaru, as he takes too much and gives others not enough, whereas Despy has a perfect sense of how much to give younger wrestlers to make them shine even in defeat.

*Hiromu's charisma is nice but his mic skills 'n' acting could use a bump, as he's so entertaining in backstage promos. He commits to his character to such an insane degree. Would give him either the punk or loose cannon gimmick for heel and bump his babyface performance. LIJ is pretty much straight babyface at this point and people adore Hiromu.

*Tenzan's physical ratings should be closer to retirement than healthy. He basically walks on his ankles at this point and seems to be injured consistently.

*While Tanahashi's push in recent years isn't always the strongest (despite this big, perhaps last, run), he's still way more popular than Okada. Time after time when they're squared off, the fans react huge to Tana and politely applaud Okada. There is a love there for Tana and the fans respect Okada but don't have the same connection, hence this interesting character turn li'l Kazu has played with since dropping the title in June.

TL;DR: Okada too popular, Tana could use a pop boost

*Jim Ross ain't the JR of the Attitude Era. He's constantly making mistakes or going on tangents to complain about what he's commentating on instead of building up the match story. 100 announcing seems very generous at this stage of the game.

*Jay White this year has established himself as quite the violent brawler. He uses his environment well (lots of very good brawling on the floor) and lots of suplexes. Perhaps a bump to his brawling and puroresu ratings and drop his aerial? His entertainment skills seem low too. He cuts really fascinating promos in-ring and backstage. He's not quite deserving of his push but he's come a long way since that disappointing match with Tanahashi at the dome. I think he's got great star quality too. He's being groomed to be the top foreigner (along with Ospreay) should Omega leave.

*Kota Ibushi star quality bump? He has the look and presence of a top guy but has yet to receive it in NJPW because of his freelancing in the past. Now he's right on the cusp.

*Young Bucks entertainment boost? People love BTE and that's based around their entertainment skills. They've also really come into their own in terms of storytelling the past 18 months or so, so I'd argue for a psych boost. Their chain wrestling is top notch, especially Nick's ability to float from one move to another.

*Shota Umino star quality bump. He's the featured young lion and people like Meltzer say he's going to be a future star. I'd agree.

*73 for Naito's charisma. Guy has to be one of the most charismatic workers on the planet, no? Like Okada isn't more charismatic than Naito in pretty much any way from where I'm sitting. He's also been voted the most popular wrestler in Japan by fans and media alike. Fans still love the guy despite an average year in-ring and some pedestrian booking. He should be the most over worker in the country.

You're doing a marvelous job. Thanks again!

During Okada's last reign as champion, events he headlined out drew previous events at higher ticket prices than the previous years. I don't have the game open to see the disparity between the two, but Okada should be number one.

Is that due to Okada or the strength of the business? I don't keep up with Japanese wrestling too much, so this is just a question.

The top 5 in that big fan poll I linked to last page was:

1) Tetsuya Naito (NJPW) - 32539P

2) Hiroshi Tanahashi (NJPW) - 32304P

3) Shinsuke Nakamura (WWE) - 17602P

4) Kazuchika Okada (NJPW) - 14616P

5) Kenny Omega (NJPW) - 11035P

I don't know how much weight we can give that because #6 is Jiro Ikemen, but it's a useful tool. It was an online vote not locked to subscribers of the magazine that ran it.

I'd agree that a lot of the ticket sales are linked more to the momentum that the company has created over the past 7 years. Naito and LIJ merch outsells everybody else's by a huge margin if that matters too.

I quickly ran a test with Impact and it needs a complete overhaul, the popularity is really off - Hendry is Enhancement Talent with no pop at all, Bahh has only 2 pop, Aries is lower in the Power 500 than Swann, Edwards and Moose and there are many more things to be redone.

I would also say that Eddie Edwards' gimmick should be at most below average, but I understand this is more of a personal preference.

Happy to see this going, if I wouldn't care for this I wouldn't mention these issues.

The first time you get a worker on loan they become available in the new area. It’s the only non cheating way to get workers to work in new areas.

After they work a show in the area, whether as a permanent part of the roster or a trade through a working agreement or alliance loan, they become active there. I believe I used this technique as Impact, by having a working agreement with NJPW and borrowing Ishii. After the loan was over, I was able to sign him away from New Japan. In a Cverse game, I had RAW run a show in Mexico and all of the workers then became active in Mexico.
