</p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

I pulled the headset from my head and leaned back. It had been a good night. Another good night in a series of good nights that has followed what had been the best decision I had made of my professional career. Running a wrestling company suited me. I had discovered that. I wasn’t a charismatic leader like Phil had been when he ran DAVE. I wasn’t a ruthless businessman hell bent on world domination. I was just a guy with a world of experience and a vision for what I wanted. I wanted a wrestling company that was simple. Old school. Straight forward. We had built a little fiefdom on those principles. Several hundred thousand people were tuning in week in and week out. We had a television show that just passed a year on the air. Our shows were consistently getting good reviews from critics and tonight I had gotten to present Dan Stone Jr. against his oldest son David.</p><p> </p><p>

It had been Dan’s idea. He had called my office with the idea. He wanted to work his son. He wanted the opportunity to put his son over. It was a good moment. You didn’t get to see it often in wrestling. Most fathers, even if they wrestled while their sons were wrestling, didn’t want to put their sons over. It was a point of pride. Or they wanted to work as a team with them. This was a friendly match up. One of a father and son just going out there as sportsmen.</p><p> </p><p>

I took a slow drink from my water bottle. I had just watched Ash Campbell debut and help Spencer Spade regain the North American Heavyweight Championship. Spade was my top heel. I believed in what Spencer Spade could do as a wrestler, as an entertainer, as a performer. I knew that Matty had to win the championship at Wrestling Summit -- we had to send the fans home happy and if he hadn’t he would have been dead in the water. The win at Wrestling Summit also allowed me to transition back to Spencer and set Matty off for another program while Spade would have the championship. I have a lot of babyfaces for Spade to work with. Ross was coming back. Clyde. Riley. KC. So many. </p><p> </p><p>

My cellphone began to buzz. I looked down. It was KC. He was just here… I answered the phone.</p><p> </p><p>

“Hello… Right now? I’m on my way.”</p>

Kevin looked down at the bundle in his arms and did his best not to cry. Not that a man crying is somehow anti masculine and if there was ever a time to cry it would be right now, but he didn’t want to cry. He just wanted to look at this amazing bundle in his arms right now. </p><p> </p><p>

Marjorie had called him as soon as his match was over. She had been watching at home -- she’d been on maternity leave for the past six weeks. The baby was two weeks late but her water had broken and her mom was driving her to the hospital. He’d left immediately. He had barely gotten there in time.</p><p> </p><p>

KC had known pain in his life. He was a wrestler after all. He had been punished. Been beaten. Woke up in excruciating agony, but it was nothing compared to watching a woman in childbirth. The way her body splits open to allow new live to exit. The speed of the birth -- forty eight minutes, meant that there was no epidural. No pain relief. Marjorie had done this all natural. KC had been there. Holding a foot. Encouraging. Listening to the pain. He could not imagine what she was going through in that moment, but he looked down at this bundle in his arms.</p><p> </p><p>

He loved Marjorie. He was in love with Marjorie, but he had never loved anything more than he loved this bundle in this moment. He and Marjorie had created life. She had done most of the work. Carried it in her womb. Had mornings where she threw up. Her ankles swelled. She had to buy new clothes. There were days and weeks where her hormones were out of control and out of whack. Together they had made this. </p><p> </p><p>

Kevin turned to Robert and Mariah and the rest of Marjorie’s family. Her younger sister Liza, her little brother Bobby. They weren’t in the family business. Liza was a junior in college and wanted to be a dentist. Bobby, a senior in highschool, would be reporting to basic training in a couple of weeks. His family wasn’t here. It didn’t matter. This was his family now.</p><p> </p><p>

“I’d let you all to meet Cora Belle Glenn.” His first child. His daughter. Eight pounds. Thirteen ounces. Twenty one inches long. Right now she was still red from blood circulation and had wisps of dark hair -- like her mom. She looked a little like ET with her big head and no neck, short legs and big torso. She looked like a newborn baby. But she was beautiful. The most beautiful, perfect thing KC had ever done in his life. He cradled her in one hand, his other hand reaching to hold Marjorie’s. She was close to passing out. The exertion of childbirth having taken a lot out of her.</p><p> </p><p>

Everyone cooed and said hello to Cora. Kevin smiled. No matter what he accomplished in his life -- nothing would trump this moment.</p>

I agree, the narratives in this dynasty are exceptional. It really helps make characters more endearing and relatable. I do wish there were some characters who were just POS but at the same time, if I were you, I'd probably try and avoid signing those kind of people in the first place. Plus, this helps push the fact that the locker room is harmonious and its a place everyone wants to be.

To be honest, these narrative even change the way I look at the characters in my own game too.

Believe it or not, I've toyed with writing some characters that were POS, but I legit don't sign any. If you are a negative influence on the locker room -- I tend to not sign you at all and let you go. I currently have a backstage rating of 100%. There are times I bring people in for short runs that are more negative influences -- but they're only in it for a short time.

And I am trying to sell the idea that in CWL, everyone wants to be there. Though, there may or may not be a narrative in the horizon that challenges that. You'll just have to stay tuned.

Which characters have the narratives affected in your game?

Yeah when I was writing my last comment, I realised that it makes sense within the story you're telling that you sign positive people who want to be there etc.

Though you have now peaked my interest with this tease of what we can look forward to!

Well I mean KC for example. I obviously recognise in game he is an incredible young wrestler etc, but now when I see him in my games, I think he has an identifiable character similar to the one you've pushed in your story. Riley too. I wouldn't see him as anything other than a reliable midcard/tag team guy in my games, but now I can see him as a legitimate top guy for a smaller company, and I see him as having this rough, do what needs to be done, attitude and as a locker room leader.

I should have listened. The week leading up to Fire on the Mountain everyone told me. Don’t trust Spencer Spade to fight clean, Matty. Don’t trust him to wrestle you one on one. But I didn’t listen. I thought Spencer Spade wanted to be a man. I thought he wanted to fight me like a man. But I was wrong. He had something up his sleeve. He and that she devil Lisa Bowen had an ace in the whole, they had Ash Campbell. I should’ve known. Ash… His daddy wrestled my daddy. Old family blood there. When his daddy couldn’t hack it and had to hack his own body like a lunatic he blamed my father. Said it was the fault of my father. I should have known. But I didn’t. So I got my face caved in by a pair of brass knuckles. This pretty face of mine. I found myself in the airport, trying to catch a flight back to Texas to see my long time doctor and every person I passed in the airport said “Champ, how could you let that happen?” Or “Champ, you should’ve known.” Or “Champ, you gotta get yourself together and get some revenge. You can’t hardly see. You’re stumbling around. C’mon baby.” And I knew then what I had to do. I called the big man. That’s right, this big man next to me. The six foot ten inch ass kicking son of a bitch known as Ranger. I told him we got a job. We have a Mission. He said Matty...Whatever you need I’m there. We’re blood brothers. We’re in this together. So I told him that at Summer Spectacular. At the Lowe Ballroom. We’re going to get even. At Summer Spectacular, we’re going to take Ash Campbell and Spencer Spade out to the woodshed. At Summer Spectacular we are going to teach Ash and Spencer…</p><p> </p><p> R: That payback….payback is hell.</p><p> <img alt="ZSlyKQ6.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/ZSlyKQ6.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p></p></div></blockquote><p></p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="45989" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><div style="text-align:center;"></div><p> <img alt="d9BATji.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/d9BATji.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="DBD7zMH.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/DBD7zMH.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="XWgjkPi.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/XWgjkPi.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="j3Mq0eH.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/j3Mq0eH.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="LqKqiEK.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/LqKqiEK.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> MR: We can officially announce that at Summer Spectacular, Gangsta Nation will challenge for the North American Tag Team Championship one more time -- this time in a no disqualification match up. David Stone now has most total defenses and most single reign defenses of the United States (and I think any) championship in the CWL with his eighteen defenses of the United States championship across two reigns. </p><p> </p><p> I really like Cali Slick. He's been uber consistent. He's very good in the locker room. He's got a grit about him that I like. While he cut his teeth in the hardcore world, I always imagined that he could be a high caliber brawler. Kind of like a Mick Foley type.</p>

<p>Yeah, it was totally unexpected to see Slick beat Stone, but also kind of cool. It's a good move for both of them as Stone is now free to pursue other storylines and maybe work his way into the main event scene.</p><p> </p><p>

The Stones are pretty much down to David and Lucy (and maybe the odd guest appearance by Edd) now. Are the Fat Cats going to recruit a female worker to get Lucy involved in the family feud?</p><p> </p><p>

Side question: Is Suzanne Brazzle in serious time decline? She's been involved in a lot of weak matches lately.</p>

She's going to be getting a narrative here soon because of it. She's such a good hand from a mentality stand point, but she really dove off the cliff. Right now she's in 'put young talent over so they get some of my popularity' mode before she hangs up the boots.</p>

I was hoping that doing it on TV would catch people off guard. I look at the United States Championship as a cross between a television title and the old Mid Atlantic US title. It can be defended and change hands on television -- but it can also be the subject of major programs.</p>

It was just a converted retail space-- nothing fancy, but it was home. The building was big enough for an office, a locker room, a gym which included two rings for the workers to train in, and a setup for promo class. It was modeled after the Rocky Mountain School of Wrestling. Joel did not train workers from scratch -- that was Ricky and Sean’s job in Denver. Joel was the finishing school -- or as he considered it -- the graduate school. Joel’s job was to take talents and help expand them. It was the end of June almost and he needed to send a report to Robert on the guys. He had decided to feature five single wrestlers -- three men and two women -- and two tag teams. He knew that Robert was going to be cutting a few more guys -- and he had already cut close to twenty guys from the main roster or developmental. Joel understood the logic. There were guys who weren’t going to do anything other than wrestle on TV and on house shows -- and while those guys were important, it was also important to clear space for other talent you thought *might* be able to become something. </p><p> </p><p> Joel opened his folder to make sure he had included everything he wanted to include. He liked this part of his job. He liked being part of the team this way. He had some miles between him and his old friend, but he was still a valued part of the team He was the guy Robert was trusting to develop the future of the roster. Joel took pride in that work. Along with Owen, Damian, Steve, Emma, and Sheri, they were building a heck of a company with a heck of a future. </p><p> </p><p> Joel looked down at the first page.</p><p> </p><p> <img alt="NjWiBYQ.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/NjWiBYQ.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> <strong>Dillion Wiuff</strong></p><p> 6’7”, 340lbs. Ripped Super Heavyweight. West Virginia. Hulk Powerslam [Tour of the Islands]. Natural Babyface. Regular Wrestler. Bad Ass. TCW School of Pro Wrestling. </p><p> </p><p> <span style="text-decoration:underline;">Thoughts</span>: Dillion has all the potential tools to be a mega babyface. He’s good looking. He’s in great shape now, though he has had some weight problems in the past. He is openly gay, which could help us reach new audiences. He’s been wrestling for four years. His Hulk Powerslam can be devastating. He is dependable, but he isn’t particularly social. He has not been a problem in the locker room, but he’s not a locker room leader either. He is definitely worth calling up or at least giving a couple of main roster matches to to see if you like what he can do.</p><p> </p><p> <img alt="H2V69v8.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/H2V69v8.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> <strong>Nolan Dunn</strong>.</p><p> Nolan Dunn is a Technician, trained at the House Of Stone, who turned pro in August 2019. He is a childhood friend of the David Stone and is currently in a relationship with Lucy Stone-McFly.</p><p> </p><p> <span style="text-decoration:underline;">Thought</span>s: Nolan is probably the best technical wrestler I have on the roster. He has the same technical prowess as the Stones. He’s a handsome kid. Good head on his shoulders. I’d bring him up and put him with David and Lucy in some sort of Stone Foundation or something like that. He’s been wrestling for two years and could stay down for a little while longer but could also be a very valuable asset on the main roster.</p><p> </p><p> <img alt="1GCAFHa.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/1GCAFHa.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> <strong>The Masked Mauler VII</strong>.</p><p> 6’4”. 290lbs. .Bulky Heavyweight. Unknown. The Claw. Babyface. Brawler. Crazy & Brute. WWA USA.</p><p> </p><p> <span style="text-decoration:underline;">Thoughts</span>: Just a good old school worker. I like The Mauler. There is a legacy to his match. He uses the Claw beautifully. He can work. He is just old school. He probably won’t be the biggest star on the planet, but he could be a very useful member of the roster. Could be a United States Champion, could be an Enforcer or a Gatekeeper when he gets older. He’s still a rookie, so I’d leave him in developmental for a little while longer, maybe give him the occasional dark match and maybe a rare TV match to see how he does.</p><p> </p><p> <img alt="Y3ZUpjb.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/Y3ZUpjb.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> <strong>Wilma Christison</strong></p><p> 5’4”. 108lbs. Toned very small. New Hampshire. Gorilla Headbutt. Face or Heel. Regular wrestler. Weasley Gimmicks. Rocky Mountain School of Wrestling.</p><p> </p><p> <span style="text-decoration:underline;">Thoughts</span>: She’d be a perfect addition to Money Talks if you’re looking for them to have a female. I’d change her last name. It’s too mouthy. Give her a wealthy sounding name and she’d be off to the rances. Wilma Croft or something like that. She’s from New Hampshire. Her father is a legit Financial Analyst with a lot of money in the bank. She can also be face. She’s using a headbutt from the second rope right now as her finish, could change that too. Only downside to her is her attitude. She’s not the most pleasant person to be around, but she’s a good worker. If you’re willing to tolerate the potential headaches she could bring, she’s worth it.</p><p> </p><p> <img alt="xUqdgvi.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/xUqdgvi.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> <strong>Jo Gallagher</strong></p><p> 5’4”.133lbs. Toned Small. Indiana. Two-Face Roundhouse Kick. Natural Face. Regular Wrestler. Psychotic or crazy characters. DeColt Power House.</p><p> </p><p> <span style="text-decoration:underline;">Thoughts</span>: Jo is a very dependable, hard working young lady. She’s only nineteen and has a year of experience under her belt. I gave her a run with the Texas Women’s Championship and she had twelve successful defenses. She did a good job with the belt. I like to call her the “Hoosier Heart Attack”. Her finish is a feint and then a roundhouse kick and it is absolutely wicked. When she graduated high school, she drove her car to the DeColt Power House to train. She’s got the heart and determination to make it in the business.</p><p> </p><p> <span style="font-size:14px;"><strong>The Red Army</strong></span></p><p> <img alt="YEyQ2NH.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/YEyQ2NH.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> | </p><p> <strong>The Sickle</strong> - Real name Andre Martel. 6’7”. 319lbs. Flabby Big Heavyweight. Canada. Heel or Face. Brawler. Brute gimmicks. School of Mammoth.</p><p> </p><p> <img alt="dS0Z9sI.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/dS0Z9sI.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> <strong>The Punisher</strong> - Real name Brandon Huerta. 6’10”. 317lbs. Bulky Big Heavyweight. Wisconsin. Heel. Brawler. TITAN Factory.</p><p> </p><p> <span style="text-decoration:underline;">Thoughts</span>: You know these guys. You found them and booked them initially before sending them down to me. I think the Comrade gimmicks have run their course though and they could be repackaged. Maybe as a modern Warlord or Demon style tag team? I’m sure Agony wouldn’t mind coming in to be their manager That old bastard doesn’t have anything else going on. I’ve been using them as my top heel team in a program with the Cummos. Brandon does have great size, 6’10” and 317… Plus he is the last graduate of the TITAN Factory -- I think he’s the only ‘official’ graduate of the school. If you ever decided to push him solo you could call him “The Last Titan” Brandon Huerta and let him go to town.</p><p> </p><p> <span style="font-size:14px;"><strong>Precious Metals</strong></span></p><p> <img alt="MQYkqAT.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/MQYkqAT.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> <strong>John Silver</strong> - 6’ 244 lbs. Toned Middleweight. Rhode Island by way of Crete. Silversault. Heel. Cruiserweight. Weasel-like characters. Rocky Mountain School of Wrestling.</p><p> </p><p> <img alt="bm8kseY.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/bm8kseY.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> <strong>Ryan Steel</strong>. 6’1”, 248lbs. Toned Middleweight. Pennsylvania. Steel Knee. Heel. No nonsense characters. Rocky Mountain School of Wrestling.</p><p> </p><p> <span style="text-decoration:underline;">Thoughts</span>: Both of these guys are from the Rocky Mountain School of Wrestling. They’ve developed into a really nice tag team down here. They are about the same size. Silver has the great exotic Greek look while Steel has that blue collar look. Steel looks like a guy who you could see working a deep mine or at a factory of some kind in Pittsburgh. Silver plays more of the coward while Steel is the ass kicker. Silver has some really impressive aerial moves in his arsenal which make him stand out. Steel’s running knee -- the Steel Knee -- could legit knock someone out if he’s not careful. These guys, along with Red Army and the Cummos, ensure that the tag division is going to be stacked for years to come.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> Joel closed the folder. He knew that Robert was getting ready for Summer Spectacular, but he also knew that he needed to get the list to him before the month ended. He might want to use one or two of the guys on the last Slammaster of the month. He might want them for some dark matches at Summer Spectacular. Joel rubbed his bald scalp and grinned. Who would have thought he would be happy running a developmental program? </p><p> Not him. But he is. He leaned back in his chair. He couldn't wait to see who Robert took and made a star. These were his kids in the way that those early graduates of the Rocky Mountain School of Wrestling were Robert's. </p><p> Joel worked we these kids day in and day out. They ran three or four shows a week. They had built relationships and he wanted them to reach the promised land. Clinton was getting valuable screen time. But who would be next?</p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="45989" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>Author's Note: I wanted to get this up before any shows came out! I wanted to profile some more guys in developmental, but I also thought it would make sense for it to come from Joel's point of view. Let me know what you think of his thoughts/style. I thought this might be a good way to introduce potential call ups to the main roster and give a little added backstory to each of the guys and calls.</div></blockquote>

<p><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Main Event</span>: <strong>The Mission</strong> vs. Spade & Campbell w/ Bowen</p><p>

<em>- Face win to send the fans home happy. The feud will go on, but Spade's got a lock on that title for a while, I think.</em></p><p> </p><p>

<span style="text-decoration:underline;">No DQ, North American Tag Team Championship</span>: <strong>Gangsta Nation</strong> w/ Brother G vs. The Keith Brothers ©</p><p>

<span style="text-decoration:underline;">Singles Match</span>: <strong>Raymond Diaz</strong> vs. Tadiyuki Kikkawa</p><p>

<em>- Could go either way, but odds favour the hometown guy</em></p><p> </p><p>

<span style="text-decoration:underline;">Six Man Tag Match</span>: Homegrown & Danny Puder <strong>vs.</strong> The Fallen</p><p>

<em>- I'm going to go out on a limb and predict a double-DQ leading to a brawl, with Homegrown finally getting some back and standing tall at the end.</em></p><p> </p><p>

<span style="text-decoration:underline;">Tag Team Match</span>: <strong>The Georgia Bulldogs</strong> vs. The Devil's rejects</p><p>

<em>- Could go either way, but I think the Bulldogs need it a little more</em></p><p> </p><p>

<span style="text-decoration:underline;">Tag Team Match</span>: The Stones vs. <strong>The Fat Cats</strong></p><p>

<em>- It's practically a handicap match already due to Dan Jr's age, but with Huntingdon in the wings it'll be too big a hill for David to climb.</em></p>
