I wouldn't claim to target someone if I'd known I'd been roleblocked. I didn't get any kind of PM saying I had been blocked. Whether town or scum, I'd have never claimed to target someone if I had known I'd been blocked. That would be nuts. So Astil's claim of saying I'm lying about who I targetted makes no sense.</p><p> </p><p>

I'm not going to doubt his role or ability though. I'm not doubting his townieness either. Just want to use a little meta logic to support myself without tearing down anyone else. And hopefully no one will die that doesn't need to.</p>

My mafia rust may be showing, but is Physician a common alternate name for Jail Keeper? I don't remember ever seeing it before, but I don't remember a lot of things. It's the only thing that bothers me about Astil's claim, but it's more for a lack of knowledge on my side than because I doubt him. I literally don't doubt his claim at all and I want to make that very clear for later on if this becomes an issue.</p>

In both cases the player targetted for jailing is unable to perform any night actions as a result of the jailing, though the side effects are different.</p><p> </p><p> In one variant a player is locked up in jail so that they are unable to perform any night actions while also being protected by the jailer. In this version the person jailed is basically roleblocked and protected, while still being able to be targetted by others with night abilities.</p><p> </p><p> The other main variant a player is jailed, leading to them being made untargettable. The jailing acts as a roleblock since the player can't leave the jail while also meaning that no-one else at all is able to target the player for any other ability.</p><p> </p><p> Those are the two main kinds of jailing to keep in mind. Some mods will also make it so that the player being jailed is unable to speak while being jailed.
