What kind of broadcoaster should I make? Size?

Recommended Posts

Hello, so these past few days I have been knocking my head over this broadcaster stuff. I am currently playing under a custom made Japanese company in 1987. Planning to play this long term. I currently have 40M$ and I want to make my own broadcast. In Japan, I'm at 81 popularity. Here is my popularity in the rest of the world. s3B6Fcp.jpg

I want to extend worldwide, at least starting with North America. My question is, what type of broadcaster should I make? And what size? I still want to gain money. I'm #2 in the world. Could I please get some help? Thank you.

Double check but how much would it cost for a broadcaster in USA, Mexico, Canada, British Isles, Australia and maybe Huge in Japan cost you? My advice to this is because if you wanna expand you can easily do so but also realize what you dont include in the intro to this broadcaster only makes it more expensive if you decide to include it later. Ive made several broadcasters in my TCW game just to make it much bigger each time.

But if you are big in Japan already you could probably afford to sacrifice that size a bit to being very big or something.

Especially with the popularity I have. Also, I am still not sure about what kind of broadcaster I should make? I have like 5 shows in one month, and sometimes seven for tournaments. Not sure if I should make Subscription, Pay-Per-View, etc.

Potentially out of the box idea, but it would only work if you're allowed to drop coverage from your network later:

You could look at existing broadcasters for each game area to find the smallest (or otherwise sized) one with coverage in every region within the area (e.g. small in every USA region) and put just enough USA regions on your broadcaster at an affordable size so that your broadcaster can grow your pop in enough regions to meet the requirements of the other network. Once you do that, kick those regions off your network and sign a deal with the other one.

Ahh well assumign you are trying to get into other regions and reach International you could just expand into other areas. Instead of expanding into everyone you could try to expand into just 3 other regions which is what you need for International. So you could select USA, Mexico and Australia since I believe Mexico and Australia are cheap with coverage. USA would be a huge market for you and very needed. Whatever one makes you the most money IMO. Subscription makes you money for TV shows but doesnt make you anything on PPVs for some reason.

But I think subscription would work -- and how ever big you can afford with out going broke/into debt/lose money is where I would go.

Personally I always make a commercial broadcaster. Especially when you're so small in other areas that it's very difficult/impossible to get an established broadcaster already. This way you grow popularity relatively quickly and make money on it. I have never done a subscription broadcaster and ppv is hard to make any money when you're that unpopular.

I want to gain a lot of money, but I also want to gain exposure worldwide. And then I have a WrestleMania type of PPV in December, but can I really just make it commercial? I really do not know.
