With Masked Patriot by her side and the Piledriver Women's title around her waist, Lora Washington kicks off the show with a promo on how she's defeated every female on the roster and will face her greatest challenge tonight, when she wrestles the COTT Women's champion, "The Iron Lady" Jillian Jarvis.</p><p>

Buck Winchester & The Boys from the Yukon (with Lisa Bowen)</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

A passable opening six man tag match to open the show, built mainly around the Express and the Yukon boys as well as Lisa Bowen's shifting allegiances. Every man gets a chance to shine but the finish sees Winchester not having any of Tufnel's disco antics and instead putting him in the Texas Backbreaker for the submission.</p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>Winners: Buck Winchester & The Boys from the Yukon, by submission</strong></p><p><strong>

Once both teams have made their entrances for the next match, Logan Diaz gets on the mic before the opening bell and offers to raise the stakes: if he and his cousin win, James will get a singles match against Annihilus for the US title. If they lose, he will offer Reaper a shot at his Piledriver Championship. Confident that either way a member of the Diaz family will end up beaten, Reaper accepts and attacks to start the match off early!</p><p>

Double Diaz vs Annihilus & Reaper</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

Now used to mainly wrestling singles matches as champion, Logan seems to be struggling a bit to get back into tag team wrestling and helping his less experienced cousin. Quickly noticing this weakness, Reaper manages to isolate Logan and focus on wearing him down. Logan is champion for a reason though and after escaping the much slower Annihilus, he hits the ropes, tags James and charges at Reaper on the apron with a spear. This leaves James alone with a confused and alone Annihilus, who he manages to grab in a front headlock before sliding into a chokehold. The move has Annihilus on one knee and Reaper is still brawling with Logan at ringside as his partner slowly passes out, until referee Alvin Lavin deems him unable to continue and stops the match.</p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>Winners: Double Diaz, by stoppage</strong></p><p><strong>

</strong><img alt="rCrbMWQ.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/rCrbMWQ.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong>

Cali Slick vs Hustle Muvva</strong></p><p><strong>

I Quit match for a Piledriver Wrestling contract</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

Slick and Muvva bring a bit of their West Coast hardcore style to fans in South Carolina with a crazy brawl that spills outside the ring and even in the stands between the audience seats. It's an interesting change of pace from the usual Piledriver Wrestling matches and both men prove they can go all out, though Muvva's stamina runs out a few minutes before the finish and he finally gives up, meaning it's Slick who wins not only the match but also a contract with the company in the wake of GSW's fall.</p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>Winner: Cali Slick</strong></p><p><strong>

</strong><img alt="87E3trK.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/87E3trK.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong>

El Masked Sheik crashes the celebration party, yelling something about "the Network" not approving this type of "street level" weaponized violence and how they want "real wrestling" from this company if they are to put them on air. Essentially, he's shooting down both the match and Slick's signing. For his effort, he gets shot down on the mic by Slick before he also gets literally taken down with a Slick-Back [Chokeslam].</p><p>

Fatal Four Way match to determine the #1 contender for the Piledriver Championship</strong></p><p><strong>

Jebediah vs Jerry Lee Williams vs Riley McManus vs Syd Collier</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

A solid four corners match featuring some of Piledriver Wrestling's top male competitors, of which only McManus has held the title before. Plenty of interesting matchups, some good sequences and dramatic spots in a match that is surprisingly oldschool, against the trend of chaotic spotty multi man matches. McManus really held this match together, trading holds with Collier as well as strikes with Williams and Jebediah but it was the Tennessee native who stole the win when he managed to roll up Collier with a quick cradle for the pin.</p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>Winner: Jerry Lee Williams, by pinfall with a quick cradle.</strong></p><p><strong>

Claire Winters was interviewed backstage regarding the actions of Eri Sato at the Rip Chord Invitational. Winters said she respects Sato's skill and experience, but she is not to blame for Sato's shortcomings; that's all on the Japanese star herself. There is a reason Winters has been Piledriver Women's champion and Sato hasn't: she's just better as a wrestler and she'll prove it in the ring when she and Sato go one on one!</p><p>

"The Iron Lady" Jillian Jarvis © vs "American Woman" Lora Washington (with Masked Patriot)</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

After taking on and defeating all comers, the Piledriver Women's champion made the next step in this match as she wrestled one of the toughest female competitors on the planet in QAW and AAA's Iron Lady for the COTT Women's title. Masked Patriot led Lora Washington to the ring and stuck to her corner throughout the match doing a great job of encouraging the "American Woman" but true to his character, never himself getting involved in the match in any way. The fight was extremely physical, as are most of JJ's matches, but there was also the underlying story of the two women's courses that added an extra layer of drama and storytelling to this slow fuse match. Washington began her career with Babes of Sin City as little more than a pretty face, before working on her wrestling skills to move on to NotBPW. She had a point to prove here against strong style Jarvis who's already made a name for herself in SCCW, QAW and AAA before taking the COTT Women's title from another esteemed worker in Foxxy LaRue. The opening exchanges to feel each other out slowly turned into grappling and some stiff strikes as the match escalated to the final few minutes of false finishes, but Washington finally managed to climb the mountain and hit Jarvis with the third July 4th Jam of the match to finally hold her down for the count and win the title.</p><p>

Lora Washington, Nicole Pyle & Miss Atlantic Wrestling (with Masked Patriot)

Sawyer Sports Services looked like a well oiled machine in the opening match, focusing their offense on Nicole Pyle, who they saw as the weakest link of their opponents' team. Mariana Torres was the only one who seemed to deviate from that plan however, apparently looking to score a submission over the Piledriver and COTT Women's champion. As the only member of Sawyer's team to have held championship gold in the past, she knew very well that ending the match that way would earn her a title match down the road but the only thing it did here was cause some dissonance between her and her partners, with Miss Atlantic Wrestling able to capitalize when she caught Torres in the Kentucky Fried Chickenwing for the tap.

Winners: Lora Washington, Nicole Pyle & Miss Atlantic Wrestling, by submission

Mere seconds after the bell rang, Brooke Tyler came out of the curtain with a mic in hand in order to lay down the challenge and request a match for the Piledriver Women's title. Washington wasn't having any of it though and got on the mic as well to shoot Tyler down, saying she won't be handed anything because of her heritage or success elsewhere. As far as things go in Piledriver Wrestling, she still needs to prove she's worth a shot.

Despite losing to Cali Slick at War for Territory #26, Hustle Muvva was backstage and trying to use the aftermath of that match in his favor as he tried to hustle El Masked Sheik into hiring him so he could get back at Slick. It looked like he'd be getting a second chance, especially when he suggested using the potential of a TV deal to pressure the powers that be to offer him a contract, but El Masked Sheik was adamant: no matter what happened to either of them, no matter the cost, he was not really here to offer any TV deal. As a matter of fact, he intended to (ab)use his power to prevent such a thing from happening, in turn leaving Hustle Muvva with a baffled expression on his face as he walked away.

Cali Slick vs Nate "The Great" DeMarcus

Now a full time Piledriver employee, Cali Slick wrestled his first "proper" match against the recovered DeMarcus, who was out to reclaim his spot after missing this year's Rip Chord Invitational due to injury. This was a no-nonesense, hard hitting, physical contest between two men with pretty similar styles, though Slick's rugged street fighting approach and hardcore past led to some unorthodox spots as opposed to the more straightforward athletic style of DeMarcus, who eventually fell victim to a Slick-Back chokeslam.

Winner: Cali Slick, by pinfall

James Diaz vs "The Monster" Annihilus © (with Reaper)

A match set up at War for Territory #26 when the Diaz cousins beat Annihilus and Reaper, this one immediately drove home the point of Logan's absence due to his big main event title match. The powerful but inexperienced James was there on his own, proving to be a wrestler far better than his age and experience should allow, though between him and the monstrous but plodding champion, their styles didn't exactly seem to mesh well and the match unceremoniously ended with Reaper headbutting James while Annihilus was blocking the referee's view. A ground-shaking choke slam after, Diaz was down and Annihilus simply but a foot on top of him for the pin.

Winner: "The Monster" Annihilus, by pinfall after Reaper interfered

WuYw4C6.jpg2FjO0qV.jpgoSBICFE.jpg

The heels weren't content with a simple victory though and Reaper got into the ring with a mean smile on his face as the announcers broke down the story: DeMarcus was still recovering from a rough match against Slick and would Logan Diaz make the save, risking his own well being and showing up under 100% in his main event title match?

MzjfHKV.jpg

That question was quickly answered when Logan Diaz rushed to the ring without hesitation in order to save his little cousin. Annihilus was no match for the Piledriver champion, but Reaper was fresh and unharmed, leading to a one on one brawl with Logan that had fans cheering until security flooded the ring to break it up as the Centerpiece Bridge echoed with chants of "let them fight"

"Ice Cold" Claire Winters vs Eri "Strong Style" Sato

Following Sato's betrayal at the Rip Chord Invitational when she turned on her friend and teammate Claire Winters, the two women met one on one in the ring and the outcome did not disappoint. Two mirror images of each other, hard hitters with precision and grace, Winters and Sato worked a match that 5SSW or WINNOW would happily present, though the finish itself showed that Sato's turn to the dark side came with looser morals as she wasn't above using the ropes to her avantage in order to steal a tainted victory.

Winner: Eri "Strong Style" Sato, by pinfall while using the ropes for leverage.

Before the big main event, a pre-recorded message from "The Athlete" Xavi Ferrera aired on the big screen. Cocky as ever, Ferrera admitted he hasn't been at his finest lately, first losing the title to Diaz and then getting knocked out of the Rip Chord Invitational, but he has a plan to bounce back. As he thought of potential opponents to defeat and earn himself a shot at the title, he realized he's beaten everyone there is to beat at the top... except Jebediah. They've only wrestled each other once and their match last October ended in a DQ. A decisive victory over the big amish would be a huge feather on his cap and enough to propel him back into the spotlight.

Logan Diaz © vs Jerry Lee Williams

Following his surprise win at War for Territory #26 to become the new top contender, Williams headlined this show in a match against the Piledriver champion himself, Logan Diaz, who was obviously still reeling from the aftereffects of his earlier confrontation with Annihilus and Reaper. The setup made for a very open-ended bout as Williams sought to make the best of this unexpected assist and a big neckbreaker almost got him there before Diaz was able to kick out of the cover. It took every ounce of determination from the defending champion's part to make it back into the match but he was able to do so, move after move, until he finally hit a Belly to Belly Suplex into the cover after fifteen or so minutes into the match to retain.

Winner: Logan Diaz, by pinfall

Williams just couldn't believe how he wasted his shot and as soon as he got his back off the mat, he threw a tantrum and got on the mic to call it quits; frist he gets eliminated from the Rip Chord Invitational, now he failed to capture the title. His final words were "Elvis has left the building" before he slammed the mic down so hard it almost blasted the speakers and rushed backstage in obvious frustration.

The Mid Atlantic Express vs Brooklyn’s Finest</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

NYCW’s resident duo of cartoonish masked men hit the ring for the opener, playing to the crowd in order to warm them up before the Mid Atlantic Express showed up to stretch and torment them. While the wrestling itself was terrible, the match served its purpose of starting the show strong and after the best efforts from the Express to carry the New Yorkers to a passable match, Collier applied the Texas Cloverleaf on Freedom Eagle to get the tap.</p><p>

Backstage, Claire Winters confronted her former-partner-turned-rival regarding her tainted victory two weeks ago and requesting a rematch. Sato didn’t look interested saying she won already, but Brooke Tyler who happened to be nearby caught wind of the offer. Tyler said defeating a former champion like Winters should be proof enough she deserves a shot at Lora Washington’s gold, so in order to get there, she was willing to team up with Sato against Winters and a partner of her choice at Wrestle Bowl.</p><p>

Speaking of tag team matches, the Good Ol’ Boys were set for action next against the blue chipper team of DeMarcus and Diaz. Both babyfaces looked like they still hadn’t fully recovered from the beatings they took at Damage Inc and the Good Ol’ Boys offered no quarter, wearing the challengers down with big slams and some wild brawling before the Iowa Harvest knocked James Diaz down for the count.</p><p>

Backstage, Sawyer Sports Services were in the middle of a heated discussion regarding the outcome of the group’s latest match. Torres defended her approach of trying to score a submission over Lora Washington, but the fast talking Sawyer wore out her patience real quick, causing her to get arrogant and dismiss her teammates as the only one who’s ever held the Piledriver Women’s title at all. Things went south fast from there and Torres found herself struggling against the combined forces of Bitch and Trigg, before a new figure caught her from behind with a choke. With Torres gasping for air, Sawyer got in her face and told her she’s out, before the mystery attacker released the hold and stepped forward to reveal herself as...</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

Jebediah vs “The Athlete” Xavi Ferrera</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

Wrestling took a backseat to the story told in this match, a clash of two men looking to trample each other as they sought to break through to the top of Piledriver Wrestling. It was an interesting clash of styles between the massive Jebediah and the more technical Ferrera, though both men showcased great levels of athletic prowess as they went back and forth for almost fifteen minutes. Jebediah looked like he had this won but just as he set himself up to hit the Sundown Splash, Ferrera barely got out of the way and he came up empty, allowing the former two time champion to hit the High Impact Frog Splash and go into the cover, albeit with some extra leverage from the ropes in order to make sure the big man would not get out before the count of three.</p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>Winner: “The Athlete” Xavi Ferrera, by pinfall while using the ropes for leverage</strong></p><p><strong>

</strong><img alt="rCrbMWQ.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/rCrbMWQ.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong>

Ferrera celebrated his victory like he’d just won the Piledriver Championship for a third time until the crowd’s boos turned to cheers when Masked Patriot came out to confront him. Referencing Ferrera’s promo two weeks ago, Patriot said Xavi may have finally defeated Jebediah, but in the many times he’s faced him, it always ended the same way, with Masked Patriot victorious. Eager to pick up the gauntlet, Ferrera grabbed the mic out of Patriot’s hands and immediately announced that he will be glad to face him one on one at Wrestle Bowl!</p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="pyf9Pt4.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/pyf9Pt4.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><p> </p><p>

Backstage, Riley McManus is walking around when his path is blocked by Cali Slick. Though McManus doesn’t seem to be in the mood, the disrespectful degenerate Slick just won’t move to let him through. Instead, he assaults the Piledriver original and a full blown brawl breaks out backstage, before a host of staff show up to pull them apart.</p><p>

"Fabulous" Frederique Antonio Garcia © vs "Glorious" Logan Diaz</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

A veteran of the biggest promotions across the continent with over a quarter of a century spent competing, 44 year old “Fabulous” Frederique Antonio Garcia showed up for the main event cocky as ever with the COTT World Heavyweight title around his waist. Not to be outdone, 24 year old Logan Diaz made his entrance holding the Piledriver Championship belt up in the air, properly highlighting the big match feel of this champion versus champion and generation versus generation clash. Now clearly on the tail end of his career, Garcia used his sharpened ring IQ to force Logan into wrestling the kind of match that suited him: slow, methodical, not that impactful, full of mind games and dirty tricks. Even so, Garcia’s stamina is not what it used to be and his body began to give up on him after eight or so minutes into the match, leading to a desperate eye rake on his part. By that point well aware of his opponent’s tactics, Diaz was able to dodge but the rake sadly caught referee Alvin Lavin, who was temporarily blinded. Diaz hit the Belly to Belly Suplex, went for the cover but with no one but the fans to count, it didn’t do him any good. Worse than that even…</p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="2FjO0qV.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/2FjO0qV.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div><p></p><p></p><p>

...Reaper made his way to the ring and caught a puzzled Diaz from behind with a decapitating lariat, setting him up for Garcia’s cover just as Lavin was back in the match to make the count.</p><p>

<p></p><div style="text-align:center;"><p>I took another look at the card, still in my suit and mask.</p><p> </p><p> <img alt="bTg9gTY.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/bTg9gTY.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p> I was used to wearing robes. Those and my usual headdress allowed for proper ventilation. Now in this lucha mask, rubbing all slimy and rubbery against my sweaty skin, I felt like I wanted to spill the contents of my stomach onto the floor. It didn't help that the heat from the venue's lights had turned my masked head into a mini greenouse. But for all the frustration, I did not yell or scream. The gimmick revamp had given me a break from being the nutty Sheik and I enjoyed every minute of it. Running the company had me slip out of character more and more, so the change came at the right time. I could forget about maintaining the gimmick and focus on being the booker. And what a show I'd booked for the end of March.</p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="46150" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>Piledriver Wrestling presents:</strong></p><p><strong> </strong><strong><span style="font-size:14px;">Wrestle Bowl 2020</span></strong></p><p><strong> Saturday, Week 4 March, 2020</strong></p><p><strong> Live from the Centerpiece Bridge, SC</strong></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong> Main Event</strong></p><p><strong> Piledriver Championship title match</strong></p><p> Logan Diaz © vs Reaper</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Co-Main Event</strong></p><p><strong> Singles Grudge match</strong></p><p> Masked Patriot vs Xavi Ferrera</p><p> </p><p> <strong>No Holds Barred match</strong></p><p> Riley McManus vs Cali Slick</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Piledriver Tag Team titles match</strong></p><p> The Heartbreak Express vs The Good Ol' Boys ©</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Opening contest</strong></p><p><strong> Women's Tag Team match</strong></p><p> Brooke Tyler & Eri Sato vs Claire Winters & Nicole Pyle</p></div><p></p><p></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> It was a stacked card, from top to bottom. But not like the one for the Rip Chord Invitational was. Or the Sam Keith Classic, for that matter. There was no tournament going on and I'd only booked two title matches all in all, but I was damn proud of every single thing on it. Piledriver Wrestling was no longer an assorment of nobodies, has beens and drop outs. Everyone on that card had made their name with our fans and the few ones who hadn't were those who'd just joined with all the momentum in the world. Every match had a story going into it and stakes on the line for all involved. Any of the top three matches could headline a show in the East Coast. Any of <em>three</em>. Of course, I'd put the title match in the main event, thinking anything else would devaluate the strap, but still, Patriot versus Ferrera? McManus versus Slick? Those were indy dream matches, every one of them. No wonder we were kicking RIPW's butt month in and month out.</p><p> </p><p> Earlier this year, Lee had set a new goal for the company. He wanted us to have more than half a million in the bank by the end of 2022. Up to that point, we were losing anything from 6 to 20 thousand a month, so you can imagine my reaction when I heard him. I kept looking at the roster and wondering who I'd cut. Then January rolled into February and somehow, we'd made a profit. Nothing fancy, something like 5 grand, but a profit nonetheless. Then February wrapped up and we'd made over 10 thousand, putting us over the half million threshold already. I was hoping we'd score a TV deal before July, in time to broadcast this year's Sam Keith Classic. Then we could go back to Florida once again. Pick up where we left when War for Territory was originally conceived. Expand from the Mid Atlantic into the South East. Then the East Coast, the entire States, the World!</p><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong><span style="font-size:24px;">MNYYYYYEHEHEHEHE.....</span></strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p> Spend 25 years living a gimmick 24/7, I guess it never really leaves you.</p>

Brooke Tyler & Eri Sato vs Claire Winters & Nicole Pyle</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

Former tag partners Sato and Winters clashed once more in the opening bout, with Brooke Tyler also looking to score a pinfall over the former Piledriver Womens' champion in order to prove herself worthy of a title shot against current champion Lora Washington. Nicole Pyle also did her best to prove herself and gain some momentum, leading to a pretty entertaining bac and forth match between all competitors until Winters caught Sato with a Heel Kick for the pin.</p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>Winners: Claire Winters & Nicole Pyle, by pinfall</strong></p><p>

After the match, Tyler grabbed a mic to blame Sato for the loss and call her 'worthless' and a waste of her time, but before Sato could respond, Winters grabbed the mic and called out Sato for using foul means to defeat her last month at Damage Inc. Tonight she proved she can beat her and she can do so again without a shadow of a doubt, one on one. Sato had a choice to make and between the two potential opponets, she said she'll be happy to humiliate Winters once more, thus setting up their rematch for the immediate future.</p><p>

The Heartbreak Express vs The Good Ol' Boys © (with Vinny Cruz)</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

Speaking of rematches, former Piledriver Tag Team champions the Heartbreak Express were up next with a chance to reclaim gold from the Good Ol' Boys. The Iowa natives stuck to classic tag tactics, isolating the smaller Needham on their corner and brutalizing him with strikes and slams until he managed to fly out of a release suplex and land on his feet, before stumbling to his corner for the hot tag to Liotta. Like a house on fire, Liotta unloaded on both his opponents and for a second it look like he could win the match there and then...</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

...the Boys from the Yukon decided to show up and settle their differences with the slimy Vinny Cruz. That of course caught the attention of his clients and the Good Ol' Boys rushed to his aid, with Alvin Lavin calling for the disqualification once the two teams began laying it on each other.</p><p>

No Holds Barred match</strong></p><p><strong>

Riley McManus vs Cali Slick</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

Slick cut his teeth in the hardcore environment of Brother Grimm's SoCal Wrestling, so even though this wasn't strictly a hardcore match, he made full use of the no hold barred stipulation and had a great opportunity to showcase his resilience. McManus may not have his opponent's track record, but he is no stranger to rough situations either. Fans are familiar with his technical skills but the Geogia native also has an underrated brawling game and a never say die attitude that carried him throughout the match, including a massive spot where he hit a modified version of his Slingshot Suplex while fighting Slick on the apron to send the Californian brawler back first onto the ring steps. This was no wild brawl across the venue but a well paced, hard hitting contest where both competitors shone. Slick sold the back injury from his earlier stunt consistently, including an attempt at his Slick-Back [Chokeslam] finisher that he couldn't complete when his back gave up on him while lifting McManus up. Riley did his best to retaliate and even managed to go for the Slingshot Suplex, but Slick rolled with the momentum to end up on top of a pinning predicament and in a moment of desperation, held onto the tights of his opponent to secure a victory.</p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>Winner: Cali Slick, by pinfall with a handful of tights.</strong></p><p><strong>

Masked Patriot vs "The Athlete" Xavi Ferrera</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

Though nowdays splitting his time between actve competitor and seconding Lora Washington or Miss Atlantic Wrestling, Masked Patriot is as skilled and dangerous as ever, a fact he proved in this match against one of the most athletic men on the roster. Ferrera was especially motivated to beat the man he's never been able to defeat, but Patriot just kept kicking out of everything he threw at him as they both went all out in a frantic match that ended once Patriot hit his Patriot Slam to score another win over the cocky Puerto Rican.</p><p>

Logan Diaz © vs Reaper</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

Seeing two of Piledriver Wrestling's hottest prospects in the ring, one would seriously wonder how this match didn't happen earlier. For all his dominance, even since he was under the wing of Scythe, Reaper never showed much interest in the Piledriver Championship, instead simply causing havoc and assisting Annihilus. His tactics didn't change much in this bout and the big man made the best of his freakish size and power to bully Diaz around. The champion attempted to drag his challenger into a technical grappling contest but Reaper wasn't having any of it. Whether breaking out through sheer power or simply being too big to move, he held his ground and kept pummeling the champion for the entire 15 or so minutes the main event lasted. Reaper got several warnings from the ref but he just wouldn't stop and eventually managed to get himself disqualified as he choked Diaz using the ropes and failed to release the hold before the referee's count of five.</p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>Winner: Logan Diaz, by disqualification</strong></p><p>

<img alt="mwL0z0W.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/mwL0z0W.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

Even after the bell, Reaper wasn't done breaking Diaz. Referee Alvin Lavin did his best to break them apart but got thrown away like a rag doll for his efforts. Fans expected James Diaz to come to the rescue, but it was actually Piledriver Wrestling's owner Lee Wright who did, apparently having enough of Reaper disrespecting the rules, officials and significance of the title match. The two men had an intese staredown and Wright even threatend to fire Reaper, though the big man simply smiled, well aware that right could never physically hurt him or fire one of the biggest draws on the roster. Instead, he looked back at the broken Diaz, smiled and made his way backstage, letting the fans cheer for Diaz as Lee Wright and Alvin Lavin helped him back to his feet.</p><p>

Fans cheer and give her a warm "welcome back" chant so of course she's their chosen champion in this match against the arrogant Tyler. The match tells an interesting story, not only between former and wannabe champion but also of two women with very similar styles and a wide array of backbreaker variations in their arsenal. This adds drama and a certain intensity to the match, especially in moments where either competitor counters the other's attempt at a backbreaker. It's an epic clash that takes well over 15 minutes, but in the end it's Tyler who's able to lock Quinzel in her Brooke Breaker finisher. Quinzel fights through excruciating pain and exhaustion but she has no option and soon admits defeat by tapping out.</p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>Winner: Brooke Tyler, by submission</strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="ozLd3Bm.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/ozLd3Bm.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="gG04bRj.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/gG04bRj.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="h9A0Crp.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/h9A0Crp.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> Not really bothering with celebrations, Tyler immediately gets on the mic and repeats her challenge, demanding a match for the Piledriver Womens' title. An I Quit match was as far as Piledriver Wrestling was willing to go with stipulations but both men made the most of it by starting a wild brawl that spread like, well, wildifre well outside the ring and into the crowd in attendance. It was different to what Piledriver fans are used to seeing but no less exciting, the executing really making this feel like a legit street fight between two West Coast gangstas. Though pretty even, the turning point in the match came when Slick hit his Slick-Back chokeslam to send Ali crashing through a speaker that shattered into bits, taking a heavy toll on the man who Slick then put into a torture rack, shoving the mic in his face for the surrender to be heard throughout the Centerpiece Bridge.</p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>Winner: Cali Slick</strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="rCrbMWQ.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/rCrbMWQ.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p> Slick's music cut off abruptly and the lights went out as an unfamiliar voice was heard on the speakers. As expected, Reaper was in controll for most of the match, using his immense size and power to beat down Patriot. Even if he would survive, there was no way Patriot could pick him up for the Patriot Slam, which is probably why the all american took a page of Slick and Ali's book when he rolled out of the ring to use the environment in order to do some damage to his opponent. Patriot dodged a charging avalanche to send Reaper onto the barricade and then made his comeback, taking great care to avoid a disqualification. The two ended up fighting on the ring apron and Patriot held onto the ropes to hit Reaper with an enzuguiri that sent him crashing down to the floor. <p>Once again, I could feel the disgusting sensation of sweat caught between my skin and the rubber of my mask. The weather was barely starting to get warm, but the temperature was not to blame. It was the tension in the air. You could cut it with a scimitar.</p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="bTg9gTY.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/bTg9gTY.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

COTT meetings were not a common thing. Most of the arrangements were made through the phone, or on some clunky videocall when Troy Winner got more stubborn than a mule about it. Unless it involved welcoming a new member to the alliance, meetings in person were rarely a good thing. And this one was no exception.</p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="UbGr8w9.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/UbGr8w9.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div><p></p><p></p><p>

<strong>"So what's this all about?"</strong> Chess Maniac broke the ice. Of all the people present, he was the only one still in his thirty somethings. He was also the one least familiar with these meetings, as he'd only taken the helm of OLLIE last June after Joaquin Soler called it quits and retired from the business.</p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="LkCNuYW.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/LkCNuYW.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div><p></p><p></p><p>

<strong>"Cherry told me she's stepping down. I need to find a new booker"</strong> Cathrine Quine replied, her tone suggesting she wasn't fully comfortable yet. Even like this, at 47 years of age, she was a beautiful woman. She also knew that beauty is fleeting, so she'd complemented that with more than looks and wrestling skill. From figurehead to booker, colour commentator and now owner of AAA, she had a track record that suggested she may be a superhero.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>"Is that it? Well, book things yourself! It's what I've been doing!"</strong> Chess Maniac snapped. Though his face was concealed by his chequered mask, I could tell he was smiling at himself underneath, as if he'd instantly solved a riddle that puzzled everyone else for hours. I could tell why the man had a reputation alongside a long list of enemies, including CILL's Maestro and EMLL's Bandido, the latter of which he still somehow worked for.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>"Calm down, amigo. We wouldn't be having this meeting if this was the only issue."</strong> CZCW's Cliff Anderson played the voice of reason. He had the luxury to do so. Brother Grimm's GSW had gone out of business and IPW didn't ever register on his company's radar as a competitor. He'd won the West Coast Wars.</p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="Mafo9fj.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/Mafo9fj.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div><p></p><p></p><p>

<strong>"I'm about to fold"</strong> Vessey addressed the elephant in the room in a matter-of-fact tone. At 61 years of age, he had little time for dancing around issues. <strong>"Rhode Island's been giving us zero breathing space in the Tri State area and no offense, but you Piledriver folks are making us look bad in comparison."</strong></p><p> </p><p>

I took in a long breath, trying to buy some time for myself to think. Was he actually implying we should put up worse shows so they could look good? Should I snap back and stand my ground? After all, there was nothing to be ashamed for in doing a great job. Should I tell him to double up and catch up?</p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="eYJzKY7.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/eYJzKY7.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div><p></p><p></p><p>

<strong>"We're here to push each other to do better"</strong> Farrah Hesketh jumped in, reading the situation like a veteran hostage negotiator. <strong>"We have done just that and now we're reaching our limits. I know QAW is inadvertantly stepping on OLLIE and Piledriver's toes. Cat and Cliff need to look East instead of butt heads. Same with you two. Maybe we need to pile our resources and bail out New Yor..."</strong></p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong><span style="font-size:14px;">"Not gonna happen!"</span></strong></p><p>

<img alt="TWZeg5H.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/TWZeg5H.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

Winner... Not saying it's because he's a midget, but he's easy to overlook. Perhaps he'd learned that himself and did it on purpose. Laying low until it was his time to make his mark with a bang.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>"I'm fighting a war against both Stones and DeColts! I'm struggling to avoid going down the drain like ACPW did! I'm not stepping on anyone's toes and no one's stepping on mine. Like hell I'm gonna slash my own funds to bail out anyone!"</strong></p><p> </p><p>

You know that stereotype about Canadians being extra nice and apologizing <em>aboot</em> everything? Yeah, Winner was nothing like that.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>"Forget it. I'm just gonna be another territory swallowed up by the Eisen Empire"</strong> Vessey said with an air of defeat to his words. <strong>"At least Rip died with MAW still active and Sam sold it to another indy fed."</strong></p><p> </p><p>

It then struck me like a bolt of lightning. And just like a bolt of lightning, it instantly evaporated whatever negative emotions I was feeling towards Larry.</p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong><span style="font-size:24px;">"THAT'S IT!"</span></strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

Everyone turned around towards me in confusion. I was up from my seat. I had even said that last sentence in my old Sheik voice and accent.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>"Vessey, you genius! We'll do another merger!"</strong></p><p> </p><p>

I tried very, very, <em>very</em> hard to suppress the memory of Lee's fiscal goal. Breaking the news to him would be a challenge...</p>

Double Diaz & Jebediah vs Annihilus, Reaper & "Killer" Carl Bernard</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

Hard hitting contest to get the match started strong as six of the biggest, baddest men on the Piledriver roster went to war in the opening match. Everyone had their moment to shine, with much of the excitement built on the exchanges between both current and former US champion in Jebediah and Annihilus as well as Reaper and the Diaz cousins. In all those personal rivalries, it was easy to overlook Bernard and indeed the 2019 Golden Graduate Cup winner used that to his avantage, showing a killer instinct as he used his opening to hit James Diaz with the Kill Switch for the pin to bring victory home for his team.</p><p>

"Ice Cold" Claire Winters vs Eri "Strong Style" Sato</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

Chapter two in the breakup of Kick City Connection and the Winters-Sato rematch, with both ladies bringing their A game to a physical bout that wouldn't be out of place in a Japanese ring. A match heavy on stiff, precision strikes and the occasional ultra realistic submission hold, this was exciting but felt like part of the in-ring action was sacrificed in favor of telling the story of the two wrestlers, including the finish of Sato getting disqualified after her emotions got the best of her and she refused to break a hold in time despite Winters having made it to the ropes.</p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>Winner: "Ice Cold" Claire Winters, by disqualification</strong></p><p><strong>

Backstage, the Mid Atlantic Express had a few strong words to say regarding the upcoming tag team title match. Specifically, the duo voiced their complaints about the matchmakers of Piledriver Wrestling, talking down the decision to "reward" the Boys from the Yukon with a title match instead of punishing them for interrupting a title match.</p><p>

The Good Ol' Boys © (with Vinny Cruz) vs The Boys from the Yukon (with Lisa Bowen)</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

While not heavily kayfabed, Piledriver Wrestling does tend to avoid face vs face and heel vs heel matchups, but this here match was probably too good of an opportunity to miss. Given the history between both the teams and their managers, this was a pretty personal fight, titles on the line or not. On top of that, a track record of chaos and mayhem led to what essentially was free-for-all rules, setting both challengers and competitors loose for what turned out to be a truly wild brawl. Harkening back to their days with PSW, the Good Ol' Boys took the match to the ringside area and even between the fans; the Boys from the Yukon are no strangers to hard hitting bouts but the unorthodox, unpredictable nature of the match was a bit too much for them and Howlin' Mad Mort ended up getting his head curb stomped through a cinder block for a crazy spot that had fans chanting "Holy Sh*t!". Whittaker returned the favor not long after, hitting Fitzpaine with a shoulder tackle that drove him through a sheet of glass that had been laying near the entrance, only to turn around and get smashed in the head with a steel chair by Langton who had just taken a dive off the top turnbuckle. The frantic pace of the match came to a halt as all four men struggled to get back on their feet, with Cruz and Bowen trying to rally the troops. The Good Ol' Boys were up first and Cruz earned himself some nuclear heat when he pulled Bowen away by the hair, leaving Whittaker all alone to get hit with the Iowa Harvest for the pin.</p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>Winners: The Good Ol' Boys, by pinfall after Vinny Cruz interfered</strong></p><p><strong>

Cut backstage to a furious Masked Sheik, who was watching the chaos unfold on a TV screen. Barely making sense in what he said, Sheik screamed that such glorified violence would never be allowed on "the network" and promised to put an end on this insanity to create a wholesome, family friendly product, much of course to the dismay of the live crowd who had enjoyed the match and showered him with boos.</p><p>

"American Woman" Lora Washington © vs "The Second Generation Star" Brooke Tyler</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

A clash several shows in the making, Washington and Tyler finally went toe to toe for the Piledriver Women's title and the outcome did not disappoint. A pretty evenly matched contest between two popular, charismatic and talented all arounders, this had something for everyone: strikes, submissions, mat grappling, high flying, bare bones technical stuff, flashy aerial moves, intricate sequences, fan interaction, these two gave everything they had and left it all in the ring for almost fifteen minutes straight before Washington finally managed to hit the July 4th Jam to score the pin to retain.</p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>Winner: "American Woman" Lora Washington, by pinfall</strong></p><p><strong>

After the match, Washington got on the mic to congratulate her challenger and praise her for being a worthy competitor, saying she proved indeed she deserved a shot at gold, however she just isn't as good as her. Tyler responded, aknowledging her defeat but saying it only made her more motivated to bounce back and earn herself another shot, promising she wouldn't fail again.</p><p>

Cali Slick vs Masked Patriot</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

Wrestling media has been calling Slick "the most dangerous man in Piledriver Wrestling" and the California native set out to prove just that as he dished out the violence in the main event. Masked Patriot held his ground and really pushed Slick to his limits, at times looking like he would be the one to break his undefeated streak, but through a wide array of dirty tricks and unorthodox combeacks he perfected with GSW, Slick always somehow found a way to turn the tables and seize the initiative from his opponent. Patriot had a huge moment when he kicked out of the Slick-Back, with fans cheering and Slick never losing cool as he recollected himself to reset and simply punish his opponent even harder. After his big near fall spot however, Patriot kept on building momentum and was about to hit the Patriot Slam, when...</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

...Xavi Ferrera's music began playing on the speakers. Patriot turned around to face the entrance ramp, but Ferrera himself never did come out. The distraction was just what Slick needed though and in a blatant show of disrespect, he hit Patriot with his own finisher before chokeslamming him once more with the Slick-Back for good measure to score the pinfall.</p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>Winner: Cali Slick, by pinfall following interference from Xavi Ferrera</strong></p><p><strong>

With Patriot still on the mat, Ferrera finally came out with a big smile of satisfaction on his face. Cocky as ever, Ferrera got on the mic to thank himself on Slick's account, only for the winner of the main event to also grab a mic and tell The Athlete to stay out of his business. Ferrera pretended to be disappointed by Slick's "ungratefulness" before snapping back to his serious demeanor to warn Slick that he'd better watch his back, because whether it's him or Diaz holding the Piledriver Championship once it's all said and done, he'll be waiting to reclaim the gold and become the first ever three time Piledriver champion!</p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><p>Then the lights went out and a single graph appeared on the screen above the entrance ramp...</p><p>

Logan Diaz and Masked Patriot stand side by side as they address the camera. Logan speaks first, addressing his new title challenger, Cali Slick. Masked Patriot interrupts, to talk about how he lost to Slick at Raw Power thanks to Ferrera, before revealing that he and Logan will be fighting the two of them later tonight. Diaz wraps up the promo, saying Patriot will get his revenge against both Slick and Ferrera, while he is all to happy to hurt both a long time rival and his future challenger.</p><p>

The Heartbreak Express vs DeMarcus & Diaz vs The Mid Atlantic Express vs McManus & Garner</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

A crowded ring kicks off the wrestling action with four teams fighting for a shot at tag team gold. Veterans McManus and Collier hold the match together as their young peers do their part for an exciting start, yet it's the Mid Atlantic Express who get eliminated first when The Architect puts Garner in a Boston Crab only to get knocked out by stereo superkicks, courtesy of the Heartbreak Express who also score the pin. Collier throws a bit of a tantrum, but eventually returns backstage, with The Architect stumbling behind him as the match continues. It's very much a power game from that point on and Needham is the one caught in the middle, the small man ending up on the business end of a Canadian Backbreaker from Garner for the second elimination. McManus takes the lead from there and after a beautiful technical exchange with DeMarcus, lures in the rookie Diaz who misses with a spear to end up tackling the ring post, before McManus tops that with a Slingshot Suplex and the tag to Garner for the Canadian Backbreaker and pin, sending the master and apprentice pairing to face the Good Ol' Boys for the Piledriver Tag Team titles.</p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>Winners: McManus & Garner</strong></p><p><strong>

</strong><img alt="87E3trK.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/87E3trK.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong>

</strong><img alt="12RJue4.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/12RJue4.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="uN4bdE9.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/uN4bdE9.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

Cali Slick and Xavi Ferrera cut their own promo next, responding to Diaz and Patriot earlier and hyping up their match. Though each man has their own ambitions, the two agree they're on the same page tonight and out to make a name for themselves, at the expense of course of Diaz and Patriot.</p><p>

Claire Winters & Miss Atlantic Wrestling vs Eri Sato & Brooke Tyler</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

The ongoing saga of Winters vs Sato took up the bulk of this match in terms of storyline, drama and in-ring action, although Brooke Tyler also put up a great performance as she chases a rematch against Washington for the Piledriver Women's title. Miss Atlantic Wrestling held up her own end with all the talent in the ring, showing no signs of ring rust whatsoever and using this opportunity to showcase her skills, expecially during a technical exchange with Tyler that ended with Sato blind-tagging herself in to hit a tangled up opponent with the Buzzsaw Kick for the pin.</p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>Winners: Eri Sato & Brooke Tyler, by pinfall</strong></p><p><strong>

With Howlin' Mad Mort and Whitehorse Whittaker glaring behind her, Lisa Bowen cut a promo on her clients' loss to the Good Ol' Boys due to the involvement of Vinny Cruz and that alone. Bowen promised she isn't done and dared the new #1 contenders McManus and Garner to face her boys, saying they'll prove who really deserves a shot at gold.</p><p>

Logan Diaz & Masked Patriot vs Cali Slick & Xavi Ferrera</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

For all the hype this match had, for all the skill and popularity of all four men in it, it just didn't deliver, or at least wasn't as good as it sounded on paper. Both teams seemed to really struggle in working together, making the bout more of a four man mess than a proper tag match. It didn't help that every man involved also took frequent breaks to work the crowd, thus breaking up the pace of the match and to top it all off...</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

...Reaper made an appearance while referee Alvin Lavin had been knocked out after Slick pulled him as a human shield against a charging Diaz. Reaper hit both Diaz and Patriot with his Double Choke Bomb finisher, leaving them out for Slick and Ferrera to cover just as the ref regained consciousness to make the count.</p><p>

Once more, a shady finish to a big match was followed with a mysterious video package, featuring the same ominous message at the end: I am Vengeange.</p><p>

"American Woman" Lora Washington vs "The Red Alert" Zoe Ammis</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

AAA mainstay Zoe Ammis revisited her "Agent 69" persona of a Soviet superspy for the main event, making this title match a nostalgia trip to the patriotic wrestling of the 80s as she fought the all-american champion. Given the time to build up the match, the two women ticked every box one would expect from such a setup and delivered an entertaining bout that ended on a high note when Washington demolished the dastardly Ammis with a July 4th Jam for the pin to retain, marking her fifth defence of the alliance title.</p><p>

<p></p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>"It's okay, big man... Yeah, no hard feelings, I'd do the same if I were you... Go seize your destiny, or whatever... Sure thing, bye"</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p> I hung up and sighed. For the second time, Primus Allen had escaped me. When RIPW first cut him, Vessey moved in to offer him a job before I did. NYCW was bigger at the time, so between our mission statement and out COTT courtesy, I backed down. Now Vessey was laying off people to cut losses and Primus was one of them. This time I had inside info and moved fast, but my bid was shot down by a lucrative offer from USPW. Of course Allen would head there. Any sane person would.</p><p> </p><p> I turned to my laptop and pulled up the news page on <a href="http://www.totalextremewrestling.com" rel="external nofollow">http://www.totalextremewrestling.com</a> to see the list of people released from NYCW. As I was waiting for Vessey to throw in the towel and sell the company to us, I could at least bring in a first wave of talent he'd let go. Only this time, the front page had an extra news article added since the last time I checked.</p><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><div style="padding: 15px; border: 3px solid #000000; margin:10px;background: #F5F5F5; max-width:50%;box-shadow: 0 6px 12px ";"></p><img alt="Mafo9fj.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/Mafo9fj.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><p> <span style="font-size:14px;"><strong>"VESSEY BIDS THE INDUSTRY FAREWELL"</strong></span></p><p> <em>"61 year old Larry Vessey, owner of New York Championship Wrestling, announced he will be retiring from the business alltogether by the end of summer. Known mainly for his tag team alongside brother Bryan across a multitude of promotions around the globe (TWL, SWF, CGC, TCW, PGHW among them) the veteran wrapped up his career in the Tri State promotion, which he also took over after former owner The Stomper retired in 2010. Vessey has yet to name his successor, though it is no secret his company is in dire financial straights due to the pressure from both SWF-backed Rhode Island Pro Wrestling as well as the expanding COTT ally, Piledriver Wrestling."</em></div></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p> Well, I guess he wasn't kidding at that meeting after all. On one hand, I was happy for him. He'd get to call it quits while still on top and finally get some rest from having to struggle with a failing promotion. On the other hand, I could only hope whoever took over after him wasn't going to pour in a ton of money like Sam [Keith] and Peter [Michaels] did with us. As bad as it sounded if I said it out loud, I needed NYCW to fold just so I could step in and buy them out as part of our expansion.</p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="46150" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong><span style="font-size:8px;">Piledriver Wrestling presents:</span></strong></p><p><strong> </strong><strong><span style="font-size:14px;">Fatal Force 2020</span></strong></p><p><strong> Saturday, Week 4 May, 2020</strong></p><p><strong> Live from the Centerpiece Bridge, SC</strong></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong> Main Event</strong></p><p><strong> Piledriver Championship title match</strong></p><p> Logan Diaz © vs Cali Slick</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Semi Main Event</strong></p><p><strong> Piledriver United States title match</strong></p><p> Jebediah © vs Buck Winchester</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Piledriver Tag Team titles match</strong></p><p> The Good Ol' Boys © vs Riley McManus & Quentrel Garner</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Special Tag Team match</strong></p><p> Masked Patriot & James Diaz vs Reaper & Xavi Ferrera</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Opening 3 vs 3 Tag match</strong></p><p> Lora Washington, Miss Atlantic Wrestling & Claire Winters vs Sawyer Sports Services (Bitch, Trigg & Svelte)</p></div><p></p><p></p></div></blockquote>
